On the way to Adelaide, detour. Find it and sign the log as EV, and thanks for the cache and hunt.
Found while visiting Whyalla for a few days with Team Waldron and TeamAstro, with the aim of finding as many caches as possible in Whyalla and surrounds. Day 1 saw us travel up from Adelaide and tour the very scenic coastline around Port Bonython and Point Lowly. On Day 2 we headed out to the Fill In The Gaps (FITG) series, then to Iron Knob and back via the First To Find Power Trail (FTF PT) series. On Day 3 we cached in and around the City of Whyalla, and on Day 4 we made our way out to Whyalla Conservation Park before heading for home. Thanks for the cache fishingmad!
Away for a few days with Featherwaite and Team Astro.
The plan was to get all the whyalla caches as well as the FTF series and the FITG caches.
Nearly got them all, just a few left for next time.
Lots of rusty relics around the place.

Another cache found during our 2022 South Australia Adventure using Geocaching as our guide.
We had a great time today driving some of the numerous 4WD tracks around Whyalla. Most.
Thanks for the cache fishingmad

What an epic journey we have had, just returned home from the holiday of a life time, we managed to catch up with PP2 for some caching at times, oh the memories and laughter!! Now it's time to catch up with the logging, thank you to every CO who has placed caches for us to find along the way TFTC
One last day for now around Whyalla, the steel city, home of the rusty mint tin...
and found a few clever caches too
Another day of exploring places we otherwise may not have been!
Came to your cache along the way
An interesting remnant of times gone past.
Much thanks to fishingmad for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo game map

Searching with Purrfect Di and Jack the Monkey, finding and signing cache logs alone or with family and friends using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
A couple of maintenance assist tasks on the trail caches too. Looked like there had been some extreme weather since we were here last... oh yep, the floods the day after we left!!!
---
Caching is a hazardous activity!
Keep a lookout for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for any old bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now everything's opening more - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Really good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks heaps for reading all this addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere, apparently! You win a virtual smile for the effort and getting to the end of the log

Full time nomads since 2013. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Heading to Port Pirie but 4 days ahead of schedule so a quick detour to Whyalla was in order. Headed out early today with lunch hoping to convert some to Not altogether successful, but still managed 39finds from 41 hunts.

A quick drive out this way, again giving Sharkbait more time behind the wheel and clearing a date in my calendar. Also, with lockdown coming, it would have been hard to explain doing exercise out here. An interesting structure. Not getting too much of a drink here today. TFTC
Found with hevwalker after a much cooler day where we finished the caches we had planned to do at the Conservation Park during the day today due to the high temps and Fire Ban yesterday. We grabbed this one after completing the August powertrail ...we are heading off for home tomorrow and wanted to get as many more caches as we can..... we headed out into the back tracks again to get a few more.....this one was a quick find....this area is a little harder to navigate with satellite maps as the deep creeks look like trails ....so we did a bit more backtracking than in the other areas we had found caches .TFTC
In Whyalla on a 5 day mini break with scramping caching the area while doing some sightseeing...
Our last night so off we went after dinner after dark again...
Wow!!! finding your way around the back roads at night is a bit of a challenge so found this cache and gave up when we came to a halt in front of a rather large creek...back to town we went...

Day 303 (Saturday 27th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Whyalla today. A total of 4 for the day and 5889 for the trip. TFTC
Interesting, easy find. These flat areas at the back of the old Whyalla Dairy were once lush pastures of lucerne and feed for the herds of dairy cows. These "stand pipes" were where the
irrigation pipes that watered the crops were connected. TNLN TFTC

Went for a morning MTB ride over the Mt. Laura hills to the old dairy. Lovely morning for a ride, beautiful sunrise and lots of kangaroos. I even came across a rather deep water course that had 4wd tracks in it. You would not see a vehicle in there, it is that deep. Looks almost man made - maybe something to do with the dairy?? I used to think of looking at the old dairy before it was demolished, but alas - too late. It was still around in 2015 - here is a photo [Old BHP Dairy](https://www.flickr.com/photos/134998033@N08/23275704555)

Found on a day trip to Whyalla. It’s been a while since a new cache has been put out in the Whyalla area. Thanks for the hide fishingmad.
It was a few weeks ago that Laighside Legends suggested a trip over to Port Lincoln for the long weekend in order to gather a few more LGAs’. It was a pleasant drive over, picking up a few caches along the way, however we spent a few hours in Whyalla to specifically target a few caches. This was followed by a slow drive down the costal highway, picking up cache after cache and happened to even bump in to Aussie M&M and Mogni as we neared Lincoln. We arrived in Lincoln at around nine after an enjoyable day of traveling and caching.
