Figuring I had plenty of time to get to Melbourne a route was picked involving a variety of cache types. There's plenty of information here, and the required lines were soon identified. I took the time to have a close look at the nearby bluestone (basalt) bridge while here. Thanks for the cache Snorkafest.
After collecting another cache nearby, I headed to this sign to calculate some more coordinates and learn about the former Navigators railway station. At the sign, it was impressive to see the old bluestone bridge. The coordinates were quickly calculated and I then headed over to the GZ. A great hint had the cache in hand quickly. My name was added to the log and the cache replaced as found. Thanks for the multi, information and the cache placed
Heading back into Ballarat now and happy to grab a few caches along the way, especially those that highlight a bit of history. Thanks Snorkafest. Was doing better on the finds by now.
Found by Mary and David at 15:10. We do enjoy a good multi. A FP for the history and the bridge. Our thanks to Snorkafest.
Found on a stuff it, let's go geocaching" type of day. Interesting history and fabulous bridge. Tftc.
Found It........While in the area visiting the Sunflower farm it was decided to grab a couple of caches. After pulling up and collecting the required info we set off to GZ where a quick search soon had us with the cache in hand. So with the log signed and container replaced we continued our journey. Thanks Snorkafest for the cache
Again a quick summation and on to gz to pick up a smiley. Thanks. Thanks for the cache Snorkafest
Found during an extended weekend in the Ballarat area with e.gregory1, with the main aim of completing the Ballarat GeoTour, but taking the opportunity to attend a number of events and CITOs, and searching for a good range of caches while touring around the district. Thanks for the cache Snorkafest!
Found with FeatherWaite on a 4-day trip to Victoria. From Adelaide. Our main aim was to complete the Ballarat Geotour and other caches of interest in the broader Ballarat area. There were also a number of events and a CITO to attend. The weather was on the warm side, but not too bad for this time of year, which made for pleasant camping each night. The cache was found in good order. Thanks Snorkafest for the cache.
Found the gold!! Great coordinates and great hint made it an easy find!! TFTC!
In the area hunting caches today and headed to hunt the multis around Navigators - have been here before but I was actually navigating in a road event so it was a very apt location! Anyway, pulled up right next to the information board so I was able to work out the clues from the drivers seat! My calculated GZ wasn't far away so I walked to GZ where the cache was in hand after a short search. Thanks heaps to Snorkafest for this one. Though this one did break my recent streak on caches near railways in that a train didn't come past.
barb2e and I decided to come down to Navigators to do the multis. This is quite interesting history. I like the colour of the bluestone. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Second day of our attack on the Ballarat Geotour. Day dawned fine so we set off early. Found with isopeda as we planned to collect what we could before the predicted rain. Tftc
A few spare days to fill before Christmas so I made the decision to hit the road and go on a road trip from Adelaide to Ballarat. The main purpose of the trip is to tackle the Ballarat Geo Tour before they get archived in February 2024. Day two was spent around Gong Gong Reserve, Kirks Reservoir, Mount Warrenheip, Buninyong, and surrounding reserves. Quite a busy day. A quick stop to collect info and find the cache. Thanks for the cache Snorkafest.# # #13697 # #
Our math is working today. Lol.
Map didn't update so was a bit blind, had to just trust the way point was right.

I was looking for a multi cache for the day to fill in a calendar date in the year and build up my numbers of multi caches. This was on our route home by the back roads and I was able to persuade The Driver to use the safe place to pull off the road. The initial coordinates are at an interesting spot and safe place to park while doing the cache. Then I did the short walk along the road which could be dangerous to GZ. Luckily it was a quick hide. I loved looking at all the lichen on the stone of the bridge!
The cache was a quick find.
November 2022. Time for the second Victorian Mega of the year. This time in Whittlesea. What is it with W's? Time for another epic road trip. Who will join our merry crew? We traveled from South Australia and camped in the pig pen. It rained. It blew. It was sunny. It was not sunny. All four seasons. Beautiful location and some awesome caches.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

A short stop here today to find this multi, a easy find and cache is all good
After staying in Melbourne for the night I trained it to Ballarat to meet up with freddo to cache for the day back to Melbourne heading towards the Whittlesea mega.

Spending a few days in Ballarat and with some more free time this afternoon, I headed out to try a few multis in the area. An appropriate day for a couple of them. Details were calculated for this one without issues and then it was short drive to GZ.
A bit of interesting history here and a great old bridge. Good to see it still looking so good.
Thanks for this one Snorkafest....

About to give up as it was freezing and with one final look we found it. Great little hide and with the grass so long made it extra hidden.
This was an interesting account of local history. Data collection was straightforward and we were soon off to GZ. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Snorkafest for another interesting cache.
First for the new year. Funny had to stop and think about the date. Got the required numbers and headed here. All in good order. Thanks for highlighting this

Yet another empty calendar filled with an after- work dash across town to attempt this cache. Got to love daylight savings combined with this great weather to get out and do some late day caching. A really interesting information board here and who doesn't like a grand old bluestone bridge to admire?
Thx Snorkafest for highlighting another local piece of history. Cache found in good condition with spot on coords.

The sun was shining, and regional covid restrictions meant we could at least get out past our 5km zone, so we seized the day and headed out to Lal Lal to explore an area neither of us had been to before. This was our second cache of the day. We liked the way the multi was constructed to make us really read and absorb the info on the board. What a lovely bluestone bridge. Cache located quickly and all good at GZ. TFTC Snorkafest.

A Saturday caching drive, with FUF009 on board, down to Ballarat and Ballan way getting caches along the way.
Worked out the information we needed from the Board then off we drove around the corner and over the bridge to find the cache. Soon found it, log signed, now off to the next multi.

A Saturday drive, past Ballarat, on to Ballan targeting a couple of short trails and some odd ones that came up along the way.
After sorting out the years we then were at GZ where the cache was a quick find among the long wet grass.

After attending the CITO event it was time to target some specific caches to get closer to meeting some challenges, or completing some goals. We have not done many Multicaches so far and are endeavouring to rectify that situation. The two Multis in Navigators were perfectly located between two of the goal caches for the day and we enjoyed stopping and learning about the Navigators Railway Station and seeing the magnificent Bluestone bridge. The log was sopping wet, the O-ring has failed on the bison. We dreid the log off, but unfortunately did not have a correct sized replacement O-ring. Thank you for this cache Snorkafest.
kenbryl and I were close by and we decided to make a slight detour over here to see if we could find the cache. Multis aren’t our strong point, but this year we seem to be kicking butt working out coords. Woohoo!!! Thanks for bringing us back out here. Tftc
Out this way again with kenare. I think it’s Sean.75 that has always stuffed up the coords when he’s attempted multis with us. Lol. We seem to get them right on the first go without him! Tftc
I haven't been out this way in a good while, so I thought I would take a drive and check out this bridge while doing the Multi. Got the numbers for Gz, then went for a walk. Nice view from up here. Cigc. Tftc
Well Ballarat cachers have done it again with four events but the ageing Bushfire did not make the first Event only due to the early start which was out of their control and the distance from Geelong and Ballarat. I have never agreed with Groundspeak and never will with their thinking on the number of Events that are allowed on a given day in a given area.
Enough of the ramblings of an old cacher who has been caching only since 2005, when back then if you found say three caches in a day you thought you have had a great day, now with so many caches out there that figure is ever so much higher.
Ask David of maccamob fame or say mussa who have been caching longer than I have and they will agree I am sure.
Up early and heading to Lal Lal railway station with my friend au.fait and then along to this guy where the numbers were gathered and we soon had cache in hand, signed and ready to head off to the next on our list.
Thanks Snorkafest to placing and all good with the cache.

A day out in the Ballarat area in the company of the ever helpful Bushfire and as usual a longish list of caches to be found. Amongst the list were 3 events, lots of traditionals a few multis and puzzles. On a diversionary route to the event made quick work of this multi. Loved the structure TFTC snorkafest
A camping road trip with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 and RoamingHowie, exploring Ballarat and surrounds, with focus on the new Geotour, the Goldfields Track and various solved puzzles.
Day One...
Lovely old bridge. Although I did get a little distracted by all the blackberries! Mmmm

With the lockdown over and the Geotour event going ahead in Ballarat, our original plans to camp and visit were back on. The adventure for GT37, Papi4506 and OHC, now begins!
A beautiful old bridge for a cache. This was the 5th multi for the day in an attempt to hopefully collect 6 to help with a challenge! Lovely photo op here.

Out for the day with Sorceysal, and we thought it would be cooler near Ballarat today. We couldn't have been more wrong, as the temp steadily climbed to 37 degrees by 530pm.
Was nice to finally get back here after missing the FTF due to an issue with the numbers.
our thanks to Snorkafest for the history, and the cache

Out with bogonghazy today to what we thought would be a cooler place to cache. NO!!!! Just as hot here as in the Marsh.
We almost got FTF here but there was a mix up with the numbers when the cache was placed. Luckily no problems today and the cache was found and log signed. Thanks Snorkafest

After attending an Event in Ballan I continued on to search for caches in the surrounding areas along the lesser traveled roads which led me to Ballarat.
I became very familiar with the history of the location with the research required.
With information gathered I made my way to GZ for a quick find.
Log signed and replaced as found
Thanks for the multi Cache Snorkafest

Well, what fun was had to look for the information for this cache. I was following my GPSr in totally the wrong direction and on the incorrect siding with the track leading down into a field. Anyway, after re-checking the GPSr we were further away than ever. Some smarty pants (me) looked across and there was the place that we were aiming for. Returning full bore up the hill (2WD here) we finally arrived at the intended destination. All the information was gathered and we were off again. Unbeknown to me, I parked right alongside the cache and, then using my "caching eyes" wandered around looking in lots of different places. Finally, using the protracted co-ords, the cache was located, signed and replaced.

After a great couple of nights in the Murray Sunset country to attend the two events there we decided to head to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches around there.
We were now heading to Buninyong to do the new adventure lab that had been published and two caches popped up on the screen.
We enjoyed reading the history on the sign as we collected the information, lots of things happened here, it's a shame that these services are no longer needed.
We plugged the co ords in and headed the short distance to gz admiring the nearby blue stone bridge. They sure did know how to build them.
The well hidden cache was soon found and our name was added to the log

TFTC. We were in Ballarat for an appointment this morning. Finishing at a reasonable time we took the opportunity to increase our multi tally for a challenge. We are getting really close. Drove out the 8 km from town. Just up the road from the Navigotors memorial stood a very impressive Bluestone Bridge. After admiring the structure we read the information board to glean the required information. A short drive and the cache was in hand and signed.
On the way to Ballarat for two events.

Heading home after a day around Ballarat with Alansee, there was definitely a theme happening here for us!
Perhaps we should just blame Daylight Saving!! Errors with numbers and navigation. Persistence paid off, we struck gold on the third attempt.
Thanks 'Snorkafest' for the fascinating history lesson.

It was getting late in the day - what more can I say. Found with Phetlern and boy did we muck it up! You would think that three experienced cachers would know better by now but no! We managed to muck it up about three times, but at least we double and then triple checked everything, before we went off to find the cache!
We have passed through here a few times but haven't managed to make the stop until today, we made sure we had some time and headed here, interesting information on the history of the area, the youngest team member loved the nearby bridge, we gathered the required information and soon came up with a set of numbers, soon we struck gold, log retrieved, signed and replaced, TFTC and the fun
We have ridden around this area with the bushwalking club so many times and not taken any notice of the area. Today, however I stopped here to collect the info and find gold.

Suscoe was heading back home this afternoon but with a moment or two up our sleeves we dropped by here to check out the recurring Theme.

Today Crank1, Papi4506, GeoTurtle37 and myself headed to the “other” side of Melbourne for a day chasing mainly multi’s and an event. Thank you for bringing the history of this area alive with this multi. Thanks so much for placing this cache Snorkafest

Find #2086 for me. Found at 2:27 pm while visiting Ballarat from Bendigo. After finishing lunch with Mum, I only had an hour before the St. Patrick's Day event started at Lake Wendouree. Having found nearly everything around Ballarat that's not up a tree, this proved to be the perfection cache to target this afternoon. On arrival at the posted coordinates another car was just leaving. Another geocacher? I guess not this time. Anyway once there I worked my way through the text on the sign to get the required numbers and with good coordinates and a nice hint it didn't take too long before I struck gold. I only had time for one cache this afternoon, but glad I chose this one! Thanks for the fun multi Snorkafest and thanks for the cache!
A lot of new multis have popped up in this area and today this was the first of 5.
Easy to follow instructions on the history here produced a viable set of numbers which five minutes alter revealed your cache.

We were happy to add our names to the log after an unsuccessful attempt erlier. Sorry for the late log.
After noticing that this cache was ready to be found we hot footed it out hoping to get a FTF. Sorted the clues and after a short walk we were rather excited to find a blank log. Whoopee, yes, a FTF. Remember finding a cache in this area a few years ago, nice to have a new placement . Thank you Snorkafest, a favourite is given.
With 4 answers different to the original questions no wonder we couldn't find the cache! Not so today though with the coordinates achieved with the photo taken on our previous visit with wozzle68 we were able to drive straight up to GZ. Still FTF we headed up to Navigators after work only to find a non logged team name already signed in ...DOH!
Thanks Snorkafest for the interesting multi.

Bogonghazy and I saw this cache published as we were driving to Ballarat so we decided to give it a go.
Our first attempt had us 2.8klm away at the Boral Quarries. Back to WP1 and checked our numbers and realised that the clues are exactly the same as the posted co-ords for WP1 except for 1 number. We searched and searched around WP1 all to no avail. It did say it was a short walk away, so we widened our search but no luck. Spent about an hour altogether checking and rechecking I think the CO might have used the wrong co-ords when putting together the cache page by using WP1 co-ords and not the final co-ords.
Anyway, we will keep a check on this cache and try again another time. Thanks snorkafest
