No luck..
Muggles everywhere, we will be back

05-Mar-22
Sadly too many muggles were either whizzing past on their bikes or enjoying a leisurely stroll along the bridge here. Will have to come back another time when there's less people around

A beautiful, sunny day enticed me to head outside on a caching trip where I ended up walking around Orewa, Millwater and Silverdale for 8 hours between 11:30am and 7:30pm! In total I made 40 finds including 30 traditional's and 10 AL's... Thanks very much to all CO's who placed caches around this lovely area!

Headed out to explore this area with the family and NZ Travellers. Optimistically we brought a picnic along even though the weather was not looking like it was going to play ball but in the end it was hot, sunny and quite humid so a great day for a walk and a picnic!!

Quick find - well after clearing the spider web guardian!

Thanks for the cache - signed log as SEAC

After a few days rain, the weather finally cleared on Labour day for a much needed outing to stretch the legs and grab a few caches. Had a picnic in Orewa with fellow caching bubble mates Keylev, NZIceman, Laval and Cragger and enjoyed a walk in the sun to a few caches. TFTC!

We are on a motorhome journey in the North of the North. Heading slowly back to Blenheim with caching and cycling daytrips keeps us occupied. Maybe a day at the Viaduct for the America's Cup too. Again this one took longer for than it should have here but a find in the end. TFTC

It was just a matter of eliminating the wrong places before finding the right place. TFTC.

No luck for me on this a second time. My phone takes me to tree. Lots of grass clipping from neighbours. Will set be back to find one day.

10-Oct-20
I have never been to Bridgend but went to Bridge End today, saw no Wales anywhere. All good here though the initial feel of the camo made me wary for a nano-second. Replaced as found after signing in.

A day out today was unexpected as our daughter visiting from Whanganui happened yesterday briefly as she headed up to Whangarei for the weekend with her brother before coming back to spend time with us tomorrow, or Monday for the rest of the week. We decided on a trip out to Orewa and headed along the estuary walkway loop and grabbed a few of the options available there and all was good. Even called in at the hall for a vinyl record sale and picked up an eighties album that I liked. Great weather today though the wind was as strong as could be. T F T C all COs.

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*

Co-ords had me in the tree but that didn't fit the title but unlike me who had followed their compass Mrs Jag had gone straight to the cache. We sat on the nearby seat to sign the log and wait for some muggles to walk past before we could return it

30-Dec-19
We had to wait for a gap in the muggle traffic before zooming in for a quick find in the first place we looked. Took the cache to the nearby seat and signed ourselves in, before waiting for more muggles to pass over the bridge before returning the cache.

26-Dec-19
Headed out for a few more caches around the estuary this evening. I initially looked around where the co-ords seemed to be pointing but decided there wasn't anything there fitting the title nor the description. So I moved in towards a likely-looking object more in keeping with both and gingerly felt around, something moved and the container was revealed. A rat up a drainpipe indeed, TFTC!

Find number 6557. Decided to do a couple of days caching in the area. With an emphasis to try to clear the Dalmatians. After parking up in Riverhead and riding the bicycle from there. I only got a few done before the batteries on my GPS went flat and when I lost phone coverage I had to change plans. In the end I ended up with 29 caches today and spent the night at Murawai. This is now day 2. Murawai, Dalmations and then onto Orewa for the night. Another 50 caches done.
After checking in at the campground I decided to cycle this trail and collect the caches along the way. Grabbing the cache no problem but had to wait for muggles to pass before being able to put it back. Thank you for the placement.

26-Oct-19
No problem here in the first place I looked, just had to wait for a break in the traffic.

Out on a sunny school hols day with the grandkids and niece and neff on their bikes. Saw soft and spongy and rat traps and bees and pohutukawa but by no cache even with the minis helping. Another day perhaps.

25-May-19
Decided to take the opportunity to collect a few caches around this part of Auckland as the weather was forecast'd to be excellent and clear, and I had not been up here for a very long time. An advantage was also that it gave me an opportunity to go for a bit of a bike ride once the sun came up.
Started out the day in the dark and still managed to make it home by mid afternoon so all in all not such a bad day to be had in the sun.
This area has changed so much since I was last out here, never thought that there would be so many houses about and still plenty of building continuing. Pretty much had the entire place to myself and made a quick find.
A big thanks to all the Co's whom have taken the time and effort to maintain the caches.
thanks for the cache, thanks for the placement.

Out and about with the elder Future Finder taking the new geo-wagon out for a spin. Of course, we stopped for a few hides along the way. After experiencing success at "another great viewpoint", just around the corner from here, we walked our way on over here. I remember DNFing Zork's old hide around here, shortly before it was archived. Anyway, this one took a while to track down. Coordinates were about 10m out for us and the steady stream of walkers, runners and cyclists impeded our discovery process. Got there, in the end, when I rechecked a spot I had checked previously, but a bit more carefully this time. Cheers for the cache placement!

07-Apr-19
I joined up with a muggle friend for a leisurely bike ride around the Orewa Estuary today and gave her a bit of an introduction to geocaching along the way. This took a little bit of searching, but I got there in the end! TFTC!

This one took us a while as we weren't sure about touching it Very Happy

Thank your for placing this cache.

I had to visit Silverdale this morning, so afterwards travelled a little bit further to find a cache. It was a nice sunny day and many people were out enjoying a walk. At GZ I had to bide my time until the coast was clear before moving in to locate the cache. Thanks.

We were up at Pinewoods for a small get-away after the main rush of campers had headed back home. One of the tasks that we set out to do while up here was to walk around the Estuary Walkway and gather the caches on offer there. Since we were camping, it was going to be a walk where we probably would have normally done a bike ride. So, off we went with a muggle friend of LordCacher08's that we were introducing to Geocaching.

We thought that his cache looked familiar. We had found the previous cache that was hidden here when this was a bit of a bridge to nowhere except a gravel pathway. This time, there were not so many muggles that came past, unlike our previous find. At first we thought that it might be a straight replacement of the previous cache and checked the same place where the last cache was hidden. Nothing. So a little lateral thinking from the description gave Mr. Kiwi an idea and so he started searching in different places. Soon the cache was retrieved, signed and replaced.

The hunt for this cache resulted in 4 wasp stings on the bum...OUCH! The coordinates were out by about 6m and I accidentally upset some wasps...then muggles had a sit down nearby... so I wandered to a nearby cache before returning to this one and using cachers instinct found this one soon after...then waddled home to tend to my wounds

Lovely, rats and drain pipes and soft spongey stuff which makes my fingers wonder what had passed this way before us. T4tc

Out with PageNZ for the day. Nobody around so made a quick find. Pohutukawas were looking fabulous. TFTC Big Grin

I decided to have a walk in the morning before spending the day at the conference. Apparently it takes my son 1.5h, so I though 3 hours would be plenty! I had so much fun!! Thanks for all the lovely caches around the estuary!!!

After a bit of a bush crashing mission at the northern end of Orewa, I was keen on a nice easy cache that didn't involve any more cutty grass and gorse, as I was making my way back south. This certainly fitted the bill, so found a car park nice and close, and walked down the alleyway. Another nice hide, and only saw one group of muggles along here early evening, just before it starts to get dark, TFTC

We came out for a bit of a walk tonight. A nice hide here indeed. Thanks for placing Glyn.

No problems with the find

First place I looked...but ingenious presentation !
Thanks Glyn!

Parked on a nearby street and wandered along to GZ. Soon spotted the obvious hidey hole and the cache was located soon after. Availed myself of the nearby seat to sign the log and the cache was replaced as found. TFTC

After doing the C.O's other cache which me and FMZ got {FTF} on, Stillwater Info, we raced over here in leisurely fashion. We parked up across the bridge and kept a wary eye upon other people crossing the bridge just before us! Talk about getting suspicious! Anyway, we arrived at GZ and FMZ released Ratty from his drainpipe and signed us in. No one about untill just a little later, we bumped into kiwiscot19, he was all hot and sweaty from running, he had claimed 2TF. Nice to see you again Darren. Then we carried on caching all around Orewa and Silverdale - after a good feed of McD's at Orewa. Cheers G for the cache.

Cool FTF#503 Cool

Noticed this new cache published last night. We were heading up here today for Kiwiscots surf life saving at Red Beach so targeted this as our daily cache. Dropped Kiwiscot at Red Beach and then after a little mucking about headed over to gz. Arrived and found that it had already been logged. Oh well all good. Made a quik find then headed off for a run around the lagoon track. Was not long before I spotted someone bent over doing something funny with a fence. Thought they must be cachers and was not surprised to find it was Gorby & FMZ enjoying a morning walk in the sunshine. I guess it is not really being muggled if it is a fellow cacher who has spotted you.......
