Hide was almost completely obscured by layers of pine needles but found after a short rummage around, TFTC
Not as close to the trunk as I was expecting. Only slightly damp so it must have dried out a little. Thanks.
Found after a bit of digging in the pine needles! Log ok, a little soggy. Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for this hide. This was our first day of Geocaching, was a brilliant way to get my kids off their devices and trick them into walking miles without realising it!! Dogs enjoyed it too but probably wondered what on earth we were doing!!
Caching with Little Horrible we've signed the Log Books as 'Little Wombles' for the series
The Log Book was damp but we were able to sign it..TFTH

Thanks for the cache, lovely spot for an Easter Sunday stroll. Log book a bit damp but rehidden out of the way.
Out with the kids on a hot, northwest day. Found all 10 caches in this area so a good haul.

Found on a dog walk.
I second that comment about getting comfy at GZ. Pine needles can be so soft and cushy!
Kia ora! Paldies!

Found with NZDi. We were down here in Canterbury for the third time since September for follow-up treatment on NZDi's ongoing health issues. The specialist appointment was yesterday and after some big city retail therapy this morning, we allocated some time for a bit of geocaching this afternoon.
We chose the McLeans Island horse riding area as it had a good looking circuit which would not tax NZDi too much. Funnily enough the only horse we saw was being put into it's float at the end of a ride. Other than ourselves, the predominant users of the track appeared to be women walking their dogs or pushing their babies in buggies, and in a couple of case doing both.
This was our twelfth find of the afternoon and once again it was NZDi who took the right approach to make the QEF.
Logs were signed with the date and our caching names in full where the space allowed or the date and KM & ND where space was limited.

Still learning to use the GPS so was a bit of wiggling around to get to this one.

GPS led us a merry chase but eventually we zeroed in on the GZ and Angie33210 made a quick find.
What a beautiful tree, stopped beneath the shade it offered to take on board some food and drink.
This was the 7th cache in our attempt of 24 caches in 24hrs.

Quickly found on a New Year's Day caching walk in West Melton Forest with Ilmari_the_Red. TFTC!
Quick find here, all good again. TFTC Kiwi864.
Today I was at McLeans island, mainly because there are a series of dog walk friendly caches here and my main job while here is keeping my sister’s dog with me at all times.
So Jed the reluctant geo-terrier was along for the ride, and I think he appreciated the flat nature of the terrain today. It took us almost 2 hours to saunter through the caches in the area by which time my other sister gave me a call, on cue, and my priorities for the day changed.
But a very successful walk, in that all caches were found and in good condition, so thanks all COs, especially Kiwi864.

Found on a nice walk in the area. Enjoying the caches. Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching
I took my bike for a ride in this forest area mid-afternoon with the hope of picking up at least six caches. As it turned out, I located 15 of the 16 I looked for. Didn’t take long to find this one after crawling in amongst the branches to look for it.
#2911. Thanks, Kiwi864, for all these caches. It’s a great setting here, providing a very enjoyable and rewarding outing!

Out on a great day with busy paws to find some caches. No cherries here today but did find the cache. Thanks for the cache Kiwi864.
I took the bike around the forest to grab some caches out this way. Mostly straightforward finds and no DNF. Good fun. Weather building for a storm.
Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2128

Thanks for the cache

To continue with my personal challenge of having found a minimum of 10 caches for every day of the year I needed to find 8 caches today to bring my total finds for the 27th February up to 10 caches.
After finding one cache during a tramp near Lake Coleridge earlier in the day I knew that with a cyclocache ride later in the day in the West Melton Forest I should be able to complete my caching task. So after returning back home from the tramp and having a quick dinner I headed out to the forest with my bike. The helmet light was needed to locate this cache. After finding Rosebud it was a quick ride to this cache. TFTC Kiwi864.

This one took me much longer than it should have but I got there in the end.
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 11 caches today for the fourth day in a row. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. I decided to have a rest from the Ahhh! Fresh Breath caches and have a 9 km bike ride in amongst some pine trees.
I thought the Cherry Tree might have been a reference tomGeorge Washington asnthe signpost was lying down. It wasn't chopped, though.
Cheers for the cache.

I was looking for a place to collect some caches before the end of the year, and this beautiful area fit the bill. I knew rain was on the way, so I came prepared. I had a very nice ride around, and found all the nicely hidden caches. All in good shape!

#16531. The general area of the hide was obvious from some distance. It was a big area to search. I went anti-clockwise and Troodles went clockwise, and she found the cache. TFTC.
Both StreetWalker and I needed several finds today, and so we targeted the concentration of caches out this way. The weather forecast wasn't inspiring, but fortunately, the rain cleared up from midday. I picked up SW from work and headed out to McLeans Island.
We bypassed One Tree Hill (we will be baaaack) and went on to this cache. I told SW that he could find this one as he was wearing glasses - good protection against the pokey branches - but I was in the right spot to see a likely hiding place. So it was me who crawled in and found the cache. TFTC.

Back in Christchurch for a day or two work type things. I had a coupke of hours free this morning so went for a walk in the forest to find some caches. It was a very enjoyable trail with a nice mix of containers and hides. Circled GZ to find the best way in to the cache. All good in the end. TFTC, Biggles.
Went for a ride around the McLeans tracks with Shannonp1. We decided to go for a wander and look for a few recent caches. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining these caches.
Went for a ride around McLeans with Surveybase. Decided to go for a walk around the West Melton forest to clean up a few recently released caches. Not a sole around today, (should have taken the pushbike). TFTC.
Time for a short morning stroll - and this series of caches looked perfect for it. Quick find here, TFTC
Few hours to kill while waiting to pick up my muggle nephew from the airport... So plenty of time to grab a few

A beautiful day for a walk and some caching. This cache was a quick find. TFTC.
Great hiding place and a nice easy find on a great day out. I am enjoying the new series in this area. No muggles here today. TFTH
Came out during the morning for a bit of a stop/start bikeride around these new caches. Parked up on Miners Bank Rd and came in 'backwards'. A cool area. An obvious spot & then a wee search to make the find and sign. Dropped off 2x TBs.
Tftc. Nice new find. Lool at the satelitte image and spot the eye to the NW !!! Spooky...
WAHOO a surprising {FTF}. I thought Aslan* would have completed what he started. Lucky me Thanks
I saw these published last night, but misread the direction so thought that they would be long gone by the time I got there. Reread the direction and almost went out before work, but put it off till after work. I needed the exercise so came out for the walk anyway, and after #2 thought that I would be 2TF at best on the wee series. but no.
Thanks Kiwi864 for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.
