Logs
Found! Log is saturated, we put a new one in and the old in a small plastic bag
Found the little critter. Found log saturated so put it in a bag and back in the rat. Signed a new log and replaced as found. TFTC
GPS was off, but knew what I was looking for and with one last attempt and a kick of a log there it was!! TFTC
Decided to go out for a bit of a walk on a rainy day to check out the old quarry remnants and to try my luck at this geo.Got muddy feet but it was a success! What a fun little cache also!
This cache , as well as all my caches are available for adoption as I have moved from the area and cannot maintain anymore.
Quick find on a nice walk on Easter Monday. Previous logs helped with what to look for. TFTC

Streak Day #3541 - Out this way with Dave8153 for our cache of the day. This was a quick find. TFTC
Hah nicely done in a great area that wouldn’t have come to if not for this, worth a fav thankyou
TFTC but couldn’t find as log was too damaged. Cute container. Sorry I didn’t have any paper. Found earlier this month.
Looked at GZ for about 5-10 mins to no avail. Gave up and on the way back to path I spotted the cache in the open, I think a animal might have thought it got a lucky meal. I put back close to GZ.
Our final find for the day with Little Shoes and Shoes Junior. A nice walk through the bush. Signed as The Shoes x3, TFTC.
OCW Sensible Shoes and Shoes Junior
Nice walk through the bush and spotted and grabbed by Shoes Junior.

This cute little animal was just basking in the sun, so we didn't have to look long.
Thanks for hiding.
Thanks for hiding.
Out for a morning of geocaching with jennyfromthefarm, before the GNSW Christmas event in Lake Parramatta today. Found cache pretty quickly, as was visible from the path so hid a bit better but still in same location. Thanks, nice container.
Before the Parramatta Lake Event I went on a 6 hour caching expedition with DiscoBob3 in a nearby series of reserves. We had a fair amount of rain but it didn't hold us back.
This little guy was cute. Gave him a pat and signed the log. TFTC Sicad69. It's always nice to see an interesting take on a familiar cache type.

very creepy.....did not want to touch it but convinced myself in the end so I could reach base camp Elbrus. TFTC!!
Arh ! Relying on my compass only and not the GeoCaching App I was coming down from Hourigan's Quarry and I took the high trail and got to 30m, but it was a Burke & Wills Bush Bash of epic proportions, I scouted around the low track and I was 20m so I decided to bash thru on a slight trail and I ended up on a fully formed middle trail !! Lesson: Use the tools.
I went off trail about 6 to 10 meters and scouted around and I looked at the Gallery pictures. I spent 20 minutes with no luck. Coming back out to the trail there it was having a quite time in the sun before the big rain shower.
Don't rely on the pictures as the cache may have moved slightly.
It is much easier than I made it.
All in good order.

Came for nocturnal wander to find the night cache but that was unfulfilled. Rats! So continued on to make at least one find for my efforts. Thanks Sicad69.
found it Thank you for taking us on this bit of the woods. Wouldn’t have come here otherwise
A quick find, but it took "guts" to retrieve it!
Thanks for maintaining the cache

Given how hot the weather forecast had predicted today was going to be i decides to get up early to get one while the sun was still rising.
Finding the cache didnt prove to be difficult. After a short walk along the trails i got to the GZ.
I first checked out the log there where someone had cut into it to get at a bees nest. No idea if they were a native or introduced species but someone went to some effort to destroy the nest.
The cache didnt take much time after that to locate but i had a little difficulty extracting the log from the camo.
Thanks.

Almost missed it, was a bit stressed due to low battery. Found it. Nice hide. TFTC
Out for another days caching with young morty8888 cleaning out some caches around Northmead. Soon sighted the vermin. TFTC Sicad69
OCW Oldmorty in the Northmead area. Oldmorty took care of this rodent of a cache. TFTC!
Such a nice track through here. Polite socially-distancing walkers through this refreshing green valley. We had a rough idea of what to expect when we got here. Mr Gaztek ‘let’ Mrs G collect the container. How nice! SL TFTC Cheers.... Gaztek

A bit of light exercising with my dog, finding a few geocaches on the way. A nice break from all the depressing news around COVID-19.
It was a bit of searching, but it was much easier than expected. The hint made sense.

GPS kept taking us off track. I smelt a rat, and then CIH. OCW Brewmaker. TFTC Sicad69
On our way to an event up north, so we decided to grab some in an area we haven't visited before.
Rats! We almost didn't find it as we took a bush bash and missed the right track. TFTC

Came through the bush from the wrong track. Possibly as these caches are stopping me from hiding caches along what was one of the oldest roads and the oldest stone bridge In parramatta area. Also devastated as put so much energy in moving the weeds away from this as it was meant to become a significant bushwalk in the area and nothing has been done in the 4 years since. Tftc
I have exactly the same critter for a hide in Victoria.

My sixth find of the morning and this was found with my muggle friend in tow. I had wanted one more find and this was another decently D/T-rated cache. My muggle friend was only too happy to oblige my Geocaching pursuits and gave helpful words of encouragement. A surprise at GZ for him, the cache guardian gave him a good chuckle. Much obliged for the placement Sicad69.

After finding Moxham Park #2 I headed up this way to make two more finds for the morning. The GPSr was still a bit sleepy, overestimating my way to go by a good 15 - 20 metres before getting with the programme again and suddenly telling me I was at GZ all along. So today it was a bit more my geosenses to start the search, and the GPSr finally agreeing with my assessment. Perhaps just a bit of a bad satellite configuration this morning.
Anyway, I got to the right spot, but the technology was pointing me further into the bush. On my way in I heard a gentle buzzing and noticed several bees near the fallen log. Methinks, there might be a wild hive over there. I don't mess with bees, so I didn't investigate any further.
But soon my GPSr was pointing me back a bit, and there I noticed something slightly out of place. By now I am wary of this CO's hides -- there are often little surprises. I had a good idea what to expect, and sure enough, I saw it. Hehehe, nice one!
I signed the log and returned everything as found. No need to go far into the bush, so the bees shouldn't be a problem.

Found with YGAT. We were a little wary when we caught a glimpse of something unnerving but overcame our fears and had CIH.

Looked in the log, couldn’t see anything. I was on the Water Dragon Way coming from the south and ended up on the wrong track (following the arrows).
Had to head back to the arrows and go up (opposite direction of the arrows) where it took us to GZ, but after searching for 10 minutes we couldn’t find it.

Thanks for the Cache. The trails sure are confusing and wonder all around this bush area. finally found the right place but still took a while to find the cache. I dont rely like this hides. you know what you are looking for but once you find it it still gives a surprise and make you wonder is this the cache or it is just sleeping. Got over my fear and yes this is the cache. signed log and hid back exactly as found. then had to find my way back out. Wandered a few tracks until yes I am back at the car safely. Not to negotiate the traffic. TFTC
We took a while to locate the right path but once at GZ it was a quick find.
Sorry Sicad69 I was unable to sign the sign as I lost my pen on one of the tracks.
See attached photo of the log sheet. TFTC.

After finding Hourigan's Quarry I decided to risk tree banches falling in this extraordinary wind and walk down to this cache. After all it was a fair drive from home, too far for just one cache.
I passed some stone masons building a sandstone wall at the back of an adjacent house and commented to them about getting the stone from the quarry. They said they wished they'd been able to it would have been much easier than getting it into the property they were in.
It was a pleasant walk and I couldn't hear the traffic because of the wind. Actually as I walked it became a bit sheltered and there was less wind.
Once near GZ the GPS jumped around a bit so I wasn't sure where to look. One place attracted my attention but the GPS didn't like it so I looked elsewhere. No luck so I checked my first idea and there it was.
Native animal - I think not.
Accidentally introduced over 200 years ago, sadly.

Earlier today I’d picked up a cache at Rookwood, caught the train to Parramatta to grab some lunch then decided to head this way to pick up the four newer caches in the area.
This was my third stop after following the meandering tracks from Michal Park #2
A handsome creatures was spotted here and I soon had CIH

After spending the early afternoon at the Whovians TV taping, I got out late to grab a few finds today - as demanded by my calendar (ie I have less than 10 finds on 15 October).
Went for two and found both with no problems. And met another cacher at one of them.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
After my previous find I drove around to the suggested parking spot in Ulandi Place to attack this one.
Started in and spotted a well worn trail not on OpenStreetMap. and it's heading to GZ. Soon passed a muggle who mentioned Aboriginal paintings at nearby caves, and spotting a cylinder he speculated was an unexploded bomb, but I thought was a gas cylinder - after inspecting it he conceded I was correct.
But he was only the first ***STRANGE*** person I met on this hunt...
I continued on and found that the track on my map didn't go where it should. I paced back and forth where it should have turned off to my target trying to spot the missing track. And I'm only 30 metres from GZ. So spotted a less dense path and followed it to GZ. Clearly the "track" on OSM has returned to nature - unfortunately overtaken by too much lantana.
As I closed in on GZ I spotted the track and a person on it. Well, well, it's **Martin cousins**. Long time no see.
My line of approach meant I had a much easier find than intended. We had a chat, I let him use my pen to sign the log, and I followed the trails back to *The Hademobile* while he continued on to my previous target.
Hmmm, this find certainly means I see a hide pattern emerging here. Wonder if it will hold up when I return for the third new cache here?

Parked between no.1&2 and walked here first, didn't take me long to have CIH. Heard someone or a noise from the bush heading my way. Expecting a brush turkey was quite different as I moved back to the path to take a photo of the log as I didn't have a pen but what this ? The brush turkey has two legs. Well I'll be, it looks like a "Gatherer Hade" in its natural state. Better be quiet as I don't wish to frighten the mammal. Hahaha, can't hold it in anymore, what a laugh, and yes he has a pen.
So, in the end, I did sign the log, cheers mate, and yes he spied the hide without any assistance too. Nice hide sicad69

Again this one didn’t take too long, I just had to approach GZ from the right angle to spot it about a metre from where I was.

Well this was one of those ones that I thought, someone is bound to get there first, its a Sunday morning people should be around. But all the FTF hounds must have been having a lie in, & I knew Frazelle & Ashley had already got drenched and gone home to change, so I had the place to myself. Lovely walk in through the bush, I still got pretty damp from all the rain earlier. Nice quick find and cute camo, then I decided to extend my walk a bit only to find the path I was after was shut for regeneration so I ended up walking back along the roads to my car.

Another day, another mountain bike ride...
My son and I set out from Model Farms Road, riding through the bush to Moxhams Road, exploring many trails along the way. The trail leading to GZ was not too ideal for mountain bikes but was interesting as we hadn't ridden it before. The location at GZ was nice but we did have to be careful as a large amount of bees were swarming nearby for some reason. A little bit of searching was required before I spotted the cheeky little hide.
I tried to fit a TB inside the cache but it wouldn't quite fit. Instead I just signed the log and took great care replacing the cache exactly as found.
