Piggies have blown their house down, time to vacate

Day 28 of the streak from hell!!! Some free time at lunch time today so the pilgrimage to Sandy Point was on. This cache wasn’t the intended target but it’s close neighbour didn’t look like a viable option as the area has been cleared so a trek through the bush was on. The likely spot was located but after 15 minutes, despair was starting to settle in and just as giving up to get back to work was on the cards, the cache was spotted. It was a bit off target on the phone but it was close enough. Thanks TT, glad the final find was one of yours.

This was a tricky climb but we managed it with lots of help. Cool hide, TFTC

13-Apr-23
Found this with my family, I liked the cache a lot but it was hard to get to for us. TFTC

13-Apr-23
Found with the family after they'd replenished their strength with snacks after doing Hatches Hill. The scramble was tricky but made it just. Cache had a bit of an issue but have repaired as best we can and sent email to owner. Thanks for the hide.

Nice. Hoping I did not injure myself! TFTC

14-Jan-23
We managed to find the steep steps up the hill, then followed tracks most of the way to the cache location. It took us quite a while to spot the cache, which for us was about 6 metres southeast of the coordinates. TFTC

Found with Glenrose Brownies

12-Jun-22
Nice one. A worthy successor to “where are the daffodils”. As cache owners we had a good look for that today but the totara log has gone missing. Will archive and let the little green pig reign at the bay.

02-Oct-21
A steep climb then circled the wrong tree as the GPS was bouncing around. Finally success. Tftc

30-Mar-21
Scrambled all over the hillside, finally found it. Span85 made me climb to retrieve it, no problem, until I got to the last turn of the thread, and the cache fell through my hand into the ferns. Log stayed though, so logged it and then Span85 went digging under my direction from the tree. Crisis averted, and cache logged. Tftc

30-Mar-21
Well that was a challenge lol, first the uphill scramble and bush bash to get to the right area, then gps wouldn't settle, finally spotted after a good 20min search, tftc

Thanks for putting this out for us to visit!

Quick tough climb but soon in cache area. Good fun and worth doing!

Cache 441 well I had already done my daily cache/ geo pup walk out in Otatara this morning. I got home and looked at my phone, there was a message from last night from Wombats4 asking if I wanted to do this cache with her today, who am I to say no to a caching adventure so we organised to meet up before lunch and tackle this beast, so with the 3 in tow we set out, The puppers made the hill climb a lot harder than it already was, luckily nobody slid backwards PHEW we got to the top of the hill and followed the bouncy GPS eventually both our phones buzzed so instead of relying on the gps we started using our eyes and hunted up and down. Wombats spotted the angry beast and I pulled up my big girl panties to retrieve it for us. Luckily it wasn’t to surly today and didn’t put up much of a fight ️ we signed log then after an almost failed attempt put it back it was time to get back down the hill with doggos once again making it difficult skidding past us at every turn luckily we made it back to the bottom in one piece WAHOO. Cache is in great shape and is a lot of fun gets a T4TC

Tanias explanation spot on lol. The green dot on the map was a thorn in my side, but not wanting to attempt it alone after reading previous logs (and still recalling Glenns warning about going out alone on some tricky hunts) a message to Tania was in order. All good, we met up and found together, yes lucky there wasn't a spill with the pups crazily racing around us! Great to finally nab this one without too much trouble, two sets of eyes and GPSs better than one. Thanks TT for the fun tracking down those pesky Piggys, a good series well thought out.. fave from me too

Decent scramble, got it ok.

I've had a few goes at this one and only bothered again as muggle was hanging around another nearby. Got it this time straight away. How have I missed that previously?

Coold hiding spot Smile

04-Sep-19
After just leaving "Angry Chuck" with a sad blue face I took on this challenge. I soon spotted a route up that looked as if several people had taken. A bit of a sidle and then a search. The signal was more stable than under the pines nearby and it didn't take too long to earn a yellow smile. Nice to have a little scramble especially when the opportunity is presented to the owner.

27-Jul-19
Easy to 'hit' once I got to GZ as the piggie wasn't wearing a helmet TFTC MATM Last one for me today, GPS says that I have walked 12km so time to head home and log all these

After dropping Mr off to work and me coughing up my lungs, I made way to daffodil bay and this cache... gps said head this way leading me further away, nope that way, nope this way. Ingored gps and climbed... good for the lungs I hear you say? Blah!!... 17m to go... hmm cache senses say no its not... wait for settlement... wait... aha! 6m... I spy with my little eye a wee greenie... up up and not quite away, and the logbook was soon retrieved... down a little to sign (MM78), braced myself, then back up... phew! Now how did I get here? followed goat track long and zigzagged down... now wheres those frozen puddles lol crack and snap hee hee.... thanks for the cache... reminds me of finding another cache nearby years ago and loosing my phone... Got to gz eventually. Now need to find my bike.

20-Jan-19
Lots of fun biking down here in a howling gale. The hill climb seemed easy. Ride home was more fun as I had a tail wind once back to Dunnes Road.
Took me forever to find.
Looking forward to the planets lining up so that the north pole decides to settle in one place. Guess geocaching is more like the old days and before we had cell phones that knew where north was.
Once found I wondered how I missed it
TFTC TT

This took some time to locate. I was about 10m out from the gps. Highlight was when I did find it and started to head down a bird noice caught my attention and there were two red crested kakariki in the tree. Being up high I was almost canopy level with them. Awesome. Tftc

After a long day of toil I suggest let's have the fish and chips on the river bank .
The weather was not kind but why not . Finely the sun is out and it was a nice night out of the wind .
So with tea ordered and rain coat in hand of we went night 3 of walking going.... well for me anyway!!!!
So let's see if the little piggy is at home. We huffed and we puffed ...and found the angry little piggy.
Now back to the cache mobile.
Why did I suggest this annielin and Abbykitt now need to be hosed down as they are covered in the local environment.
Yup covered....

11-Jan-19
After a long first week back at work for me, we decided that fish and chips and walk in the bush was in order.
So after that off to find another angry person.
Sigh... i don't believe i signed up for this walking every night malarkey.... hmmmmmm need to sort this out.
Parked in the likely spot, and then realized to my dismay i shouldn't have had that extra serving of chips....
There was plenty of discussion about how much i love you Tuitigger, as i climbed another mountain....
Mind you sliding down said mountain on my butt after locating the angry porcine made up for it!!!
Off home for a date with the water blaster!!
Tftc

11-Jan-19
What the heck?another blimmen walk?
Had to be sweet talked and bribed with the offer of hot dog and chups....
Made it easily up the mountain that I could hear someone complaining about....
There was a bit of searching to be had, but there he was.
Going down again was a bit quick... Who doesn't love a slide!

Tftc. Not too much treking involved. Compass bounced around a bit at gz. Used the clue and spoted the cache

Wasn't in a hurry to grab this little angry monster ha ha. This area was explored last year after ticking off all the green dots and dropping TB's off on days when there were just no more dots left and just felt like a noice long walk on the tracks. A curiously placed flight of stairs hidden in a forgotten corner of the picnic area just needed exploring! How long had it been here, why wasn't it as maintained as the other tracks, where did it go and why wasn't there any caches in there????? Climbed the stairs and followed the track as far as it would go and found the abandoned industrious site. Daredevil mountain bikers ?? Who knows. Up up up scrambling up the crumbling dune and down the other ferny side to the patch of Totara woods that meet down by the road. The FTF'ers did this in the dark? Heyy what?!? I haven't played the App so had to rely on search engine to figure out vaguely what may have been installed for me to find. One look on a shorter day and fired off a PAF. Returned and found the Angry pissed looking Piggy quickly found once an extra hint was garnered and signed the log. It definitely wasn't the birds nest nearby and probably walked right past it going back and forth last time. Thanks for the adventure and leading me here for some new challenging cache GZ's Tuitigger. **Trackable Luver 5pt**

10-Dec-18
Why is coming down soo much easier than going up? Made hard work of climb but got to the right area in the end. Was hot & bothered but Thank goodness Cache was soon spotted & log signed. Managed to even get a war wound in the process. TFTC Smile

24-Nov-18
I had just settled down after a big day when my phone started going *PING *PING. I messaged Granville and asked if he was keen for a wander, next thing we were blasting through the countryside in search of the elusive piggy. We were met by another cacher Rayzr who was down for the weekend, and off we went. We scrambled up hillsides, slid back down on our backsides, but we rewarded for our efforts with a FTF! Yahoo!!! Thanks lads for a fun evening.

FTF 21.00pm 24/11/18. Yay found with searchwisely and rayzor. Got the message about the new caches so off out we went. A scramble up and a search around gz for the little blighter. Searchwisely soon spotted and we signed log and returned him to his hide. Thanks Tuitigger for a good hide.
