It is a beautiful sunny day with a nice breeze so we decided to take the little doggo for a walk along the rail trail to burn off all that puppy energy and pick up a few caches before the warmer weather moves in.It was a very pleasant walk in and back and each cache was found nice and dry, which isnt bad considering the biblical downpours we had yesterday. And we didnt see a single wriggly stick so we are happy about that.
I was on my way home to Melbourne after spending a few days in the Snowy high country with the MX-5 Club... and took the opportunity to stop off in the Wodonga area to find the caches I needed to help me qualify for the **WCW - The 80/20 Rule Challenge**.Caches with a high number of Favourite Points are usually worth the extra effort of going to look for... and although this one required a bit of walking, I decided to give it a go. I parked at the end of Gullifer Lane and set off along the HCRT. Having made the mistake of walking across the last bridge I came to, I overshot the cache by some distance before I could return at ground level. And yes, a brilliant cache... worth its Favourite Points... and currently needs to be opened carefully so as not to squash the "cache guardian". Thanks **OZREG** for putting this cache here.
Albury Invasion trip Day 3. After planning and months of puzzle solving it is finally time to head to Albury Wodonga for a long weekend visit. I was with Kitty Katch, FufacesLL and Joolay for this trip, but I also spent time with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n due to space in cars. Logs for the weekend were signed CIA23 to save space. We started the day with a walk around the Riverside trail for the virtual and thew caches along the way. The second port of call was the new rail trail caches where a large group wandered along the trail visiting the caches, it is great to see this trail re-populated with caches. The second part of the day was small group caching around the area, visiting a few DNFs and other caches we had missed the day before. As before the effort put into the puzzles and all the caches in the area is really appreciated, and with so much more to do, I am sure I will be back before too long. Thanks for the cache Wright_Stuff44951.26 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2014 Yo-Yo A#276**Albida**
After a pleasant night in sheer luxury, fitzy_1965 and I were up early to take advantage of our free breakfast before joining the rest of the CIA crew for a day of caching before we all went our separate ways.We crossed the river into Victoria to meet at the start of The Crossing Place walk and did the loop before the sun got too hot. The walk itself was quite pleasant and was a good test for my hip which has not been the best of late. We targeted of the OZ trail and whatever else we came across. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.
Albury TripTime for an Aussie road trip with Joolay, albida33 and FurfacesLL plus others from the Canberra puzzling team. Thanks for the hide
We joined in on the Canberra Albury Invasion or CAI fun this long weekend. After lots of puzzle solving and planning the time had come for a four day weekend of geocache hunting and hiking in and around the Albury/Wodonga area. We could not have picked a better weekend, we had great weather and avenged a couple of DNF's for us. Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches in this area, and for giving us a reason to come down the highway and visit this lovely area. Thanks for the hide and trail Wright_Stuff
Day 3 of our Albury trip. Apologising up front for the generic logs. Cannot complain about the quality and quantity here, it was a great mixture. Some are very challenging hides and some even defeated us and some of those puzzles, just glad it was more than me working on them. Looking forward to coming back. Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Lots of lovely puzzles that we have spent time as a group working through now its time to venture down and pick up.Signing as CIA-Canberra Invasion of Albury. And apologies for generic logs. Thanks for getting me out and about Wright_Stuff
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and CIA23 cachers on a quick Albury invasion! Thanks Wright_Stuff!
33,879. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. This was now (my) Day 2 of the trip. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks Wright_Stuff !!
#18982; Day 3 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend. Our merry band again comprised Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e, isopeda, dty73, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for another day of action today. Started the day with a wander along a part of the Crossing Place Trail, where we managed to locate and log 12 caches. It was then time to cross the border to tackle a larger section of the "OZ" trail, plus this one as we passed by, logs were again signed CIA23. Eighteen finds and one DNF for me along this part of the trail. Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity and apologies for the generic logs. TFTC OZREG
Day 3 of the Canberra invasion weekend of Albury. Being ex an Canberran, I headed up to join in the fun of the weekend with LuckyL10n, Albida33, fitzy_1965, minniek, tankengine, dty73, Joolay, KittyKatch, Smittengranny, Isopeda, Barbe2e and FFLL.This morning we started with the loop walk around The Crossing point and then heading out to grab a few along the OZ trail. All caches were found without any issue and logs were signed CIA 23, for Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...loved the hide for this one. Fav point added.
Day 3 of our Canberra (+3) Invasion of Albury. Starting time and place had been discussed and agreed upon at Kittykatch's Event last night. There was to be a variety of cache types, D/T's and attributes covered to hopefully provide something of interest for everyone participating. All mystery caches had already been solved as a group effort on various zoom sessions before we left home. The day was sunny and hot, but everyone rose to the challenge, and all these caches were found and signed CIA. Thanks to all the COs who placed and maintained these caches. They certainly encourage me to get out and travel.
Completed the last portion of these caches along this part of the rail trail today. Was on my bike in the light rain. Was a little cool but it also meant things were very quiet for me to find everything in peace. The bridges and raised platforms along here are very fun to bike on. This is an awesome hide that I have never seen quite like before! “Oh wow!!!!” was the exclamation made as it revealed itself. A fav point. Earned here, tftc!
Out for a bit of an evening caching adventure with geotild after dinner. Found a few. All great hides. TFTC
Claim my adopted out cache as a find so as to not have unnecessary green icons throughout Wodonga on the map.
This was one of my favourite caches as is this area of the trail.
Good Luck and enjoy "N & M"

Well hidden

Nearly gave up, decided to look at the clue and sure enough I had seen the trick early in our hunt but disregarded it. The poor bridge has had an accident
#4616 Some time between cache finds for this team with the seemingly never ending cycle of lockdowns. However today we used our current freedoms to tackle a section of this trail whilst in the area after lunch.
The geohounds were not impressed with galvaiZed surface, not comfortable to walk on with their little pawZ. With the area flooded below, we ended up carrying them most the way across!. A few muggle interruptions in trying to retrieve the cool hide here. A fave from us for the execution here. Thanks OZREG!

Out on the trail with the two GeoKids in tow. We loaded up the car this morning with a plan to get my legs some ‘recovery’ activity. This series of caches along the HC rail trail were just the ticket. Cruising at a leisurely pace we ticked off each in good time and the girls enjoyed swapping a few goodies from the caches they could.

We are trying to get a badge ,the author ,from project GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to get badges for adding photos to our found logs .
We started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full-time, living in a caravan, caching fits in well with this lifestyle. It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone. When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there in order to get the caches we want.
Trackables that we have with us today are:

Last one for the evening as it was nearing dark.
Thanks for the hint, was very helpful, could have spent ages looking otherwise.
Certainly a great addition to the rail trail. Some years ago it was a regular occurrence for this section of the trail to wash out with a flooding Kiewa river.
TNLN , TFTC , Cheers.

Out for the afternoon with matho64 and found this very sneaky hide. Worthy of a fave. TFTC
Hint made this one very, gps was spot on too... last smiley for the day ... Thanks again for all your work placing these caches
Needing a cache for the latest souvenir, I was forced to tackle some of the local hides I hadn't discovered yet. I made some great finds and different containers found, during the week, to get that golden prize.
Out trying my new e-bike. Headed out and was surprised by how many cyclist were out along the trail. Arrived at GZ, using this neat hide for the find I needed today. At first, I thought I may have to find another but then I notice something a bit different and was relieved to make this nice hide. Given a fav for something different.
Then I enjoyed the ride home along this great bike trail, so will definetly be back to finish these off sometime soon.
Thanks OZREG for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

Introduced a muggle friend to geocaching with a walk along the HCRT. Lovely cool afternoon that bagged us 7 finds out of 7 caches!!! Favourite point from us for this one too!!! Thanks for the caches OzReg.
Took a while to find. Kneeling pad would help. Long pull out. Water up high. Tftc.
This one had me going up and down and even under the bridge and nothing was turning up. Eventually I found something suspicious. A shot in the dark revealed the cache
Again the cloud cover was messing with the gps of the phone. It just wouldn't settle. I had recently injured my knee so still not able to bend it. I was hoping I wouldn't have to climb under. This one had me stumped looking everywhere with no luck so decided I needed the hint. While looking in the general area I had the aha moment and the cache was in hand. Very clever hide, well done. TFTC.
We moved on to "...GalvaniZing" before heading back towards the car and then further on.
This part of the Kiewa River flood plains is probably one of my favourite spots of the whole trail...you really feel away-from-it-all and it is so peaceful.
The sections of boardwalk along the trail here and more further on are really well done.
Thanks to the clue the cache was located without trouble and we really liked the concept here.
SL at 12.50pm. Hide all good and replaced as found.
A favourite point from us. Now to back-track. TFTC OZREG.

Spending a couple of day at Wodonga & catching up with Happy Feet. We have been here before , so many puzzles & a lot of good bike trails.
Bill went riding one morning riding with Robyn along one of the trails close by. His comment that the trail that he did was paved & quite flat a pleasure to ride on.

Lots of "Moogles" about [:o]
Ignoring their bovine stares I poked around for the cache.
And about 10 minutes later I had not found a trace of a cache
I wandered past one more time,
and poked something that I had seen and ignored about 10 minutes ago.
I'm sure Freud has a theory about why I saw,
and ignored the blindingly obvious.
But that is beyond the scope of this article

We set out today to grab the caches along this stretch of the rail trail. We parked near the Kiewa Valley Highway then began the hike to Pollards Rd before turning around and grabbing the caches on the way back. On the way to Pollards Rd we came to this area and began walking along the raised walkway, with the idea of being off the ground and avoiding the wriggly sticks (snakes). While walking along enjoying the scenery I spotted something long and black on the walkway. Grabbing hold of geo wife to stop her walking (she let out a little squeal) we slowly backed away from what was a metre long red bellied black snake. It raised its head as if to say “come near me and I’ll leave a bite mark in your leg” which no doubt it would have if we hadn’t seen it.
So we backed away, got off the raised walkway and cautiously went past the snake as it eyeballed us. After getting past it I had a thought, “I bet there is a cache near that spot”. And guess what, on the way back to the car, there was a cache near where we saw the snake. So with a big stick in hand and making lots of noise to scare the snake away we set about searching for the cache. We soon found its clever hiding spot. We quickly signed the log and headed to the next cache before the snake decided it didn’t really like us in its territory.

This is the last cache to be found along the hcrt. I purposely left this one not found on my last caching run so I could bring Mr S along. This is Geokid#3's favourite part of the trail with the many bridges and man made walkways to explore on his bike.
Mr S did the counting whilst I found the well camouflaged container. Thanks ozreg for replacing the archived caches along the trail. A fav point from us

Great hide. Found by Craig with assistance from Jonty, Xyleigh, Cienna and Jess. TFTC
A short trip to Wodonga with BettyBoo3747, it has been quite a while since our last visit.
Armed with deadly treadlies, we completed the last 12 caches on the Rail Trail.
The first series of boardwalks were plastic and quiet to ride along, these metal ones were quite noisy!
We did wonder what they would be like when they were wet.
Rode off the end and tracked back to GZ.
Nice piece of holder for the cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

#15123. We were away for most of November so this is our first chance to do the newly placed caches along the trail. It is a hot day but that doesn't matter as we are on board our flash electric bicycles so it only took us an hour to do the 11 caches along here, plus a couple of others. We enjoyed riding the new metal boardwalks - very musical beneath our tyres. Left a couple of TBs along the way and a couple of pathtags also.
Loved this one and enjoyed the ride both ways across here. Rob by some coincidence parked right at GZ but was unable to see what was staring him in the face. Part of the retrieval mechanism was actually poking out. I knew what it signified. After finding and signing we put everything back nicely hidden and continued on. Favourite point for this one.
Thanks OZREG

Clever hide. Fav for sure! Pups started across the boardwalk after the kids & aborted only to crab walk over the side back on to lower ground! Kids did the counting & the finding. SL and returned as found. Thanks for another great hide OZREG. Board walk definitely wasn't here last time. Thankfully no snakes today.
What a long galvanised board walk which will be very useful if we ever get enough rain to turn the area into Wetlands again. We are quite sure this lovely walkway was not here last time we were in the area. SL at 12.47pm Nice hiding place. #5839 TFTC OZREG
Was out and about for a relaxing Sunday walk with friends, this was a great little hide in a lovely part of the world. Thanks for bringing these back Reg, love getting out and will add a few more smileys to the list today.
We needed to do some training on the tandem for the great vic bike ride so we decided do OZREG's new power trail. We started at Bonegilla and headed into Wodonga and back with the youngest Geo kid on the back of the tandem navigating to each of the geocaches. We enjoyed the series. Our geo kid liked extracting this one. TFTC.
Keeping the streak going and had the time today so thought I would walk to this one as the furthest from an access point (giving me the opportunity to sign others when less time). Thought I would be 2TF but two others have been here yesterday and today and yet to log. Used the hint and counted as required and found the nicely hidden cache quickly. A nice clever hide - TFTC I will be back for the rest soon
