Out with owner doing maintenance, Rode from the car park on the trusty ebike, brilliant weatherGreat spot for a cacheThanks
Found It!After a walk across the plains in the howling wind, I got to GZ and spent too long searching the wrong post before moving onto the right one and finding the cache. I think they need some trees around here to slow the wind down a bit!TFTC
Coords spot on ( wouldnt expect anything less from tank engine!)Couple of recent logs had intimated they were off due to checking a lot of posts. Have missed the spot while its been closed and its taken me too long to get back to it
Last find for the day. Was getting a bit tired before this one and almost giving it a miss. Was surprised at the size of the infrastructure. I guess the down stream farmers wanted clean river water.
Cache tucked away and all safe. But I had to check several posts. Thanks for the fun.

After a relaxing, stunning Namadgi morning we took our time wandering back to the car following the heritage trail. Plenty of new things to spy since my last visit, and rediscover because, let's be honest, I've forgotten most of it. So many joeys in pouches and plenty of birdlife to watch as well. TFTC
Continuing acceptance trials of my new e-TOTT I took off caching along the (still closed, due to severe flood damage at the bridge) Orroral Rd to the former tracking station site and return, for a 26.53km return loop with 613m elevation gain over about 3.5 hrs.
A superb day and the closed road is brilliant for riding, although while I was at Orroral I saw two weed spraying utes - probably needed, since the fire a lot of the regrowth in the valley is weeds of different types. Lots of grass seeds off track, too, and in retrospect not a great day to forget the gaiters - perhaps I should burn my socks. Signage still seems intact at the tracking station which is as interesting as ever, and great to see lots of roos around today.
Great to give this cache some love after over two years unfound (well, there was this fire...). It was quickly located in an obvious spot. As one would expect from a TE cache, it's come through the fires completely unscathed. Lots of roos around here.
A random photo from today's adventures attached
Thanks, Tankengine.

From the peak to the valley, it was an easy walk to GZ. Lots of roos with babies just chilling in the gorgeous sunshine of the well fertilised valley floor. Still like to call in Jurassic Park here, feels like a T-Rex could just charge out of nowhere and gobble me up.
Some snow was still present around the old poo farm .
Love the space exploration history of the valley and all its remaining artefacts. This was definitely a critical one lol.

Popped in for a quick find. The whole tracking station was full with hundreds !!!!! of campers & motor cyclists, HUNDREDS!!!!! Maybe something to do with the 50th anniversary of the moon landing this weekend. Cache good, thanks.

Another part of our space history that needs to be told and found. Interesting location and glad it has been put to other uses. A good walk in glorious sunshine. TFTC Tankengine.
OUR DAY
A superb Autumn day walking approx 8km in the Orroral Valley taking it easy with the focus on photography and a cache or two or three ...along the way. With an early start it was good to see the fog lift behind us as we approached Orroral Road revealing the best weather Autumn can give its visitors in this gorgeous place. After first picking up the Weird Weir cache at around 10am we concentrated our walking on the area from the Orroral stockyards and old homesteads back to the minor peaks in this part of the valley. After lunch at 1pm we then headed for the relics from the old tracking station. With the carpark half full we enjoyed this area mostly to ourselves in peaceful surrounds. We headed for home at 3.30pm to be back in this general area over the next couple of weeks.

Now thIs is an interesting site! We wandered about discussing the concept of sewage settlement ponds, and how fascinating that they are now a frog habitat. Nary a croak or pobblebonk today, very dry out here. Quick find, log signed. Looking forward to my blt lunch at the tracking station picnic grounds. TFTC TankEngine
Found while on the area with the bushwalking club. The rest of the group didn't even stop. After I found it I said did you look at the sewage, they said oh was it that. Shocking how they only stop for flowers. Made a quick find tftc
I was down here for the event so I planned to make a day of it caching around this beautiful area. A lovely cool and overcast day meant it was perfect for caching as well!
Next stop on the Orroral valley geomission was this one. Pulled the geounit over, hopped over the gap in the wire fence and wandered down.
Well "Space Sewage" could also be known as "Macropod Meetings" as there were HEAPS of roos gathered around the place! They soon departed as I was making the easy find and sign but they returned as I left. Interesting spot!
Thanks for yet another, Tankengine!

A forecast 39-40 degree day meant an early start for this Canberra Bushwalking Club outing led by JohnnyBoyACT and including Marmaduke Rothschild, IamCoust and two muggles. A lovely series of walks in and above the Orroral Valley, including Orroral Ridge. Six caches for myself and IaC (JBA and MR had already found some of them).
A very nice little walk across to here, with the heat building but not yet too bothersome. A really interesting spot, with the verdant surrounds a pleasant sight in these hot, dry conditions. Lots of kangaroos hung around, find little patches of shade wherever they could. MR reached the spot first and made the find, while IaC and I closed in, debating which of hinted at things it would be hidden at, JBA and muggles close behind. TFTC, TE

An early morning Canberra Bushwalking Club trip with Iamcoust, JMW1, JohnnyBoyACT, plus two muggles. A few caches around Orroral and Honeysuckle Creek and back before lunch and the real heat. TFTC.
A Canberra Bushwalking Club trip on a hot day. Love this site, great for frogs when there is some water about. Thanks for the cache, TankEngine. You take folk to marvellous places.

After a long walk from the tracking station to Orroral Orography, I walked some more to grab this cache. Quickly found.

We decided to head out for a walk with the kids on a beautiful Canberra spring day. Weather was perfect and we had a great time hiking through the valley. It was our first time in the valley and it was beautiful! Saw more kangaroos than we could count, huge variety of birds and a couple of lizards, along with leaning about the heritage of the location. TFTC
Another one done. Woo Hoo! I enjoyed finding this one at 2:08:00 PM with OzGeoberries.
I love the challenge of the geocache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hide. This is an amazing world-wide game of hide and seek. I love it! I also enjoy caching with my 2 boys, and meeting fellow cachers. It really is a small world when I read over cache logs and see names of my friends who have found caches around the country. Thanks go to **Tankengine** for making the effort to place this cache and maintain it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and it is very much appreciated.
TFTC! Cheers. *Jump Pilot*

As this was the place that DSD probably got the bird attack ,i was careful all the time. I kept a large stick above my head in and out of the location.
Only a lone roo greeted me at GZ lazing in the sun.
Nice spot for a cache .There should be more info on the sign about it all other than it being a heritage walk.
Thanks to Tankengine for the cache invite.

I decided to visit Orroral Valley today and I took All7 along for the ride. We collected numerous caches around the area. I had my head split open by a swooping magpie, we spotted 5 of the biggest Red Belly Black Snakes I have ever seen. A fantastic day out, I love hiking around this park of the ACT there is always something to see. Thanks for placing this cache. The logbook was signed dsd or darksidedan or darkside.
I love this area and have ever since I first visited here. Every time I have been in this valley I feel at peace and so relaxed. So when Tankenigne suggested a walk down this way I was more than happy to join him. He had noticed this site and wanted to explore it further and then place a cache here for others to see too. It is easily missed if you don't walk far enough away from either main feature of the area (Station or Homestead). Placing a cache here highlights this piece of forgotten history.
Today I came again with Aquilus1. We were having lunch and Aquilus1 pointed out that it was still available and gave "that" look and so I returned "that" look and off we went. Pity I couldn’t claim the ftf, but I love this area so much so any excuse to come back down again was fine with me.
Thanks for a great day when we came here and of course - Tftc Tankengine!!!

*FTF* 3.07pm. I had noticed when this and the close by cache notification had come out but with a six day work week I also felt the need for a quiet relaxed morning and a lay in as well so left them for others. Plans had been made with dty73 for an outing out at Jerrabomberra grasslands later in the morning for a few caches and we spent a good portion of the day out there caching and exploring the area.
It was over a late lunch and I mentioned that this was still to be found, we gave each other 'that' look which usually means trouble but today it just meant a visit out to Orroral Valley. I love this valley, have visited a few times now and each time I just feel so relaxed out here. Its very peaceful and beautiful and there is something that just makes me love being here.
I loaded up the caches along the way as I don't get reception out here and we made our way to the main car park, from there we made the leisurely walk across to this cache stopping to take many photos along the way. Recalled our last visit with the feisty swooping magpie over at the homestead that terrorised any thing that moved and soon I found myself at GZ for a very straight forward find. Went into the fence for a look about, still a lot here including a lot of little kangaroos in the fence and all looking quite clean and not sewage related anymore, understandably given its a frog monitoring area. On a beautiful sunny day and the bit of green in the valley a very relaxed and enjoyable visit and so very glad we made the trip out here. Thanks for the cache Tankengengine and for another reason to visit.
