In Leeds for the cricket and with a spare day I headed out to try a few earthcaches. Managed to walk just over 4klms and pick up 10, as well as virtual and webcam.
All were interesting spots, with some info quickly gathered, some that took a bit of re-reading and research back at the motel. Answers have all been sent and hopefully all is good,
Thanks for the lessons Hillgorilla, something new was certainly learnt.

Thank you for another great earthcache for us to enjoy while in Leeds. Answers sent to CO, TFTEC
I looked at a lot of granite during today's urban earthcaching afternoon, but this was definitely the most interesting. I must've walked past here dozens of times over the years, but had never before noticed how unusual - and how striking to look at - the formation of this particular stone is. Answers all sent to the CO, and thank you!
Had an enjoyable wander around Leeds and while I was here attempted a few earthcaches. Answers sent to the CO.
Well that stone is simply amazing. Love your work. Answers submitted to the CO.
Easter 2020 sees South Australia hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

Another interesting Earthcache in Leeds.

Thanks Hillgorilla.

We have seen Rapakivi Granite at 2 other Earthcaches now and it is very special when viewed close up. Interesting how it is formed, the geological world can be quite amazing. TFTEC. Found during our 2 night stay in Leeds, it is good to back in Yorkshire, even if it is the West Riding and not the East Riding where I was born!
Answers sent to the CO. This was an interesting variation on the 'normal' granite we have come across in other EarthCaches and a particularly nice example of a decorative igneous rock. Favourite point. TFTC
Whilst getting the answers to this a man came over to view the engraved inscription. He knew about the builder and we shared the details of the granite. A very different type of granite. TFTC
Again, I must have walked past here several thousand times, and never noticed this before!
Fiona has done the necessary admin on my behalf. Just never call her my PA....
(I've made sure she logged first before I wrote that!)

Message sent with answers - it's rather a belated log of this earth cache, so I hope I made enough notes during my visit to enable me to still get them correct.
I was on a business trip to Castleford. Because of train times from Edinburgh, I had to head down the afternoon before. I managed to persuade my colleague that we would be much better off staying in Leeds overnight - and as he was having to come down on a later train, he didn't argue.
So it meant I had a few hours in the evening to go caching. I was very surprised at the number of earth caches around here - each one giving such a different experience of the fossils.
Another new type of rock pattern that I haven't seen in any of the earth caches I've previously done, so thanks for enabling me to learn something new.

Find 15 of 28 today while on tour with South Derbyshire Geocaching. Logs were variously signed SDG or stamped, depending on space.
Further teamwork here, after I'd doubled-back to grab a distant Owl waypoint. I eventually caught back up with the team who were waiting (im)patiently for me at this Earthcache.
SL - TFTC!

Out with the South Derbyshire Geocaching gang for a tour to Leeds today. A very small and select group comprising of Collie Wobbles, Chramm, A1nnie and Metronauts departed from Burton at 07:30am and arrived at 09:00 at Leeds Station raring to go. We managed a whole host of different cache types today including an event, traditional, multi, virtual, earthcache, webcam and puzzle. There were a few pubs involved which is unusual for us on a tour, but a thoroughly good time was had by all.
All logs were stamped or signed with SDG to save space and any required answers will be submitted by one of the team on behalf of the whole group.
