In Leeds for the cricket and with a spare day I headed out to try a few earthcaches. Managed to walk just over 4klms and pick up 10, as well as virtual and webcam.

All were interesting spots, with some info quickly gathered, some that took a bit of re-reading and research back at the motel. Answers have all been sent and hopefully all is good,

Thanks for the lessons Hillgorilla, something new was certainly learnt.

I like the way @hillgorilla does earth caches and this is no different... though even with a more accessible one I struggle to have any confidence in my answers.

Beautiful day in Leeds so I took a break from shopping to grab both earth caches on this street. Thank you.

I came here at just the right time, with the sun in the south-west shining on the granite and the phenocrysts gleaming in the light! Just beautiful, and exactly the sort of thing urban earthcaching is wonderful at drawing your attention to. I enjoyed looking all over this for the biggest phenocryst I could find, and have since messaged all my answers. Thank you Nick!

Visited Leeds on the train with my Granddaughter as part of our annual ‘ Birthday Shopping’ trip and, as this Earthcache was part of the building of one of the shops on her hit list, we decided to take a closer look. Really interesting!

I have sent our answers to the CO. Thank you, Hillgorilla Smile

Caught the bus into Leeds (these free bus passes are very useful) and wandered around for an hour or so. Had a look at a few earthcaches including this one. Answers sent to the CO.

Enjoying our visit to Leeds and especially all the Earthcaches.
Answers submitted for approval.
Thanks Hillgorilla.

This sort of granite is always worth a close look, the crystals are beautiful. We were on our way to Whitelocks Ale House and paused here to claim another Earthcache from the 13 on our list during our 2 night stay in Leeds. Two by Two Session IPA was very nice, had to have a second one. Colette's strawberry gin went down well too. TFTEC.

Had a bit of time to kill before I started work so thought I’d grab this urban earthcache. Answers to the questions were quickly found and all info sent to CO. No time to do any more but I think I’ll plan a day out in the near future to try and clear all the other ECs in the centre of Leeds!

Answers sent to the CO. As it was a lovely sunny day, the doorman was outside, watching and probably wondering what I was looking at. TFTC

Message sent with answers - it's rather a belated log of this earth cache, so I hope I made enough notes during my visit to enable me to still get them correct.

I was on a business trip to Castleford. Because of train times from Edinburgh, I had to head down the afternoon before. I managed to persuade my colleague that we would be much better off staying in Leeds overnight - and as he was having to come down on a later train, he didn't argue.
So it meant I had a few hours in the evening to go caching. I was very surprised at the number of earth caches around here - each one giving such a different experience of the fossils.

I don't recall ever seeing any phenocrysts in any of the earth caches I've previously done, so thanks for enabling me to learn something new.

Find 14 of 28 today while on tour with South Derbyshire Geocaching. Logs were variously signed SDG or stamped, depending on space.

Yet more Earthcache goodness. Not sure what everyone else thought we were doing - four people intently studying various shop facades must have looked a little odd to say the least. I think it was at this particular Earthcache that we decided a tape measure would probably make a good addition to the caching kit...

Out with the South Derbyshire Geocaching gang for a tour to Leeds today. A very small and select group comprising of Collie Wobbles, Chramm, A1nnie and Metronauts departed from Burton at 07:30am and arrived at 09:00 at Leeds Station raring to go. We managed a whole host of different cache types today including an event, traditional, multi, virtual, earthcache, webcam and puzzle. There were a few pubs involved which is unusual for us on a tour, but a thoroughly good time was had by all.

All logs were stamped or signed with SDG to save space and any required answers will be submitted by one of the team on behalf of the whole group.

One of three of the interesting earthcaches set up by hillgorilla in Leeds, attempted by us today. All fascinating stuff and an enjoyable time spent studying and understanding some of the features of key buildings in the city. Answers sent. Thanks to the CO for setting this up and I am sure it won't be long before we have a go at the other hillgorilla earthcaches here. TFTC

Logging as found having visited the given coords and sent our combined answers to the CO which we hope are acceptable. Amazing what can be discovered on shop fronts which most people wouldn’t even notice! Many thanks
Staying in Leeds as Stockport Freebird volunteers for the triathlon this weekend, with time to find caches as well.
