It was Mums (SethRaven) birthday on Friday and today she wanted to spend the morning caching & suggested Huntly . . . . . . found on the ground, cable tied in place. TFTC. Mum loves these ones, very crafty
2FLYTIM Found this one . . . . . Was on the ground . . . . . Have cabletied in place. LOVE THESE. Gets a fav pt fr me
Tried to find this case awhile back with a group of friends. But with no joy. In the area needed to stretch my legs and approach the case. Was concerned that this might take me a long time. But thankfully I spotted it. Very crafty cache. Its a favourite point from me
We returned home yesterday after a day out geocaching in the Waikino/Paeroa to a message from Mr NZT about a handful of mystery caches in Hamilton he was trying to solve and head down to retrieve before they are archived. We decided to join him, along with LiverKiwi, and NurseDr.Just a few more caches on the way home. We made a quick find here today, happy to turn the blue face into a smiley.
Out of town on a caching mission with Kiwi Does Stuff, made a plan for the few days up in Auckland and hit the road. Making our way back to Rotorua through Huntly and grabbing some quick park and grabs along the way. Another green box? With certain nearby factories and a common cache theme present you did have us looking all around.. quickly found the familiar hide though! These cache containers are well crafted and executed. TFTC!
Day 2 of our out of town mission with Reschedule. Decided we would head into Huntly on our way home to bulk up numbers.
Mrs NZT and I decided to have a road trip day today. Left home at 6.30am (crazy I know when we are on holiday but then this is holiday enjoyment for us!!!), drove lots of kms all over the place and back home in time for dinner with a nice haul of smiles (we mostly had smiles today woohoo).Woohoo previous DNF avenged. Had been here a while ago with some of the Team SEAC crew with no luck. Today however was nice and easy after zoning in on the right thing....the little green box of course!! Thanks for the cache.
We drove to this green box soon after finding the other green box cache nearby and therefore had preconceived ideas about what we were looking for.
But we soon realised that this one was going to be different and changed our focus a bit. The cache was then quickly spotted.
A really nice hide, thanks ABCDF4.

I walked from the freedom camping spot by the power station with the intention of walking around Lake Hakanoa today.
After yesterday's awful weather it was lovely and sunny today.
Number teo for the day. I thought I knew where the gps was taking me, but it turned out to be a different green box. Very cute.
Thanks for putting this here

Another nice quick find and a cute container.
It could use a refixing though, cause it is getting too tight for the tree.

In the absence of a MEGA event this Labour Weekend, Keylev had spent some time planning a Mega Mysterious Weekend for members of Team SEAC (a group of cachers from south and east Auckland who often cache together). Today's plan was to head south and find as many caches as we could around the Huntly area. In the group today is HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-Crane, NurseDr, Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Liverkiwi. Logs were sighed SEAC or Team SEAC to save space. It ended up being a long day and a bit - leaving the start point at 9 am and returning home after 1:30 am the following day.No luck here today, and we spent quite a while searching - even though there were not many places to search. We will be back another day.
Labour Weekend has historically been a minimum 3 day Team SEAC all out adventure so a little while ago I started planning some fun for us. After a walking day yesterday, today was a driving one and more about the numbers and clearing out an area we have had our eyes on for a while. Ended up being a massive day (left home around 8.30am and got home at 1:40am!)....it wasn't called a Mega Mysterious Weekend for nothing. Enjoyed the fun with friends...just like the 'old' times.Searched for quite a while here but unfortunately no luck today.
Last year, Team SEAC members went on a road trip down to Cambridge to clear out as many of the caches in that town and its surrounding areas. On the way home from that trip, we stopped off in Huntly to do the night cache. After completing the night cache, we vowed to come back to Huntly and grab as many of the caches in that area as we could. Today was that day.
We parked up near GZ and started to make our way towards what we thought was GZ. Then we pied a suspicious green box on the other side of the road. That must be what we are looking for. So, we got there and searched and searched and searched. In the end, we had to give up after searching every square inch of that green box. If this was indeed the green box we were meant to search, it is possible that the cache may have been flicked away by the action of mowing the grass around the green box. At least, that is our theory.

Day 2 of our Labour weekend caching mission, and also happens to be a significant day for me yearly...... Our group decided to head down Huntly way for a good variety of cache types and then head inland and back up to Auckland.....some of use a little jaded from the impromptu high elevation gain hike yesterday, we eased ourselves into search mode.....
Signed is as SEAC to save logbook space and allowing us more time to enjoy the area which surprised us as to how many scenic places are hiding in Huntly....
Thanks to all the CO's for hiding and maintaining caches here.....and to mother nature for the awesome weather we had......
I now see the co-ordinates have been updated since our visit....next time for this one now....
TFTC.

Another case of no mistake where GZ was, only problem was a few DNF's may cause an issue??
Nope, found likely cache container, slightly different than the last one, but only problem was that it was rusted shut......... had to find a couple of suitable tools in the van nearby to loosen the little bugger up, should be able to be opened now by fingers rather than tools!

We were only on the 2nd suit of the Deck of Cards Series when nature started calling so we headed to Huntly to empty, and fill our car. Thought we'd do a few here before heading back to finish the deck
Nice quick find. Love these kinds of containers

Was heading to the CITO event in Huntly this morning and thought as there is a few new caches around Huntly I'll head North a little earlier and clean up the Map as well and turn a few more caches into smiles.
No issues here, cache found and replaced without hassle.

I dropped my friends off this morning to walk the Hakarimata track. I've got shin splints so I can't join them. Instead I'm picking up the caches around the Huntly and Ngarauwahia areas.
I couldn't spot the other green box cache as I thought caches weren't on these boxes anymore. The hide was obvious here so it was a quick find. I thought the church might have be busier given it's a Sunday morning. Oh well it made it easier for me. Thanks for the cache

One of my techs was doing some work in Te Awamutu and had damaged a part which I then took a replacement to him and we meet half way in Huntly. This meat that I could have a leisurely drive back to Auckland and grab some caches on the way back.
This was my second quick find. Signed the log and continued on my way back North.

On the way to Mercer to meet with family from Auckland. Quick stop to try for this one we had no success with on a previous visit, and there it was, yay! TFTC
No problems here at all, cache was quickly located and off to the other green box before we headed further south today. TFTC
This was our final find before heading home after spending the afternoon out at Glen Afton. I would have liked to pick a few other Geocaches that I haven't found yet but we were running out of time. A good excuse to come back another day. TFTC
Out to make a few finds before leaving town this morning.
A quick park and grab here.

Out for a girls caching day out with Merlot58 and Supernanny. A quick park and grab as we headed south.
#662. I was trying to find caches with trackables as tomorrow I'm going overseas, however it was night and so I wasn't sure how successful I would be.
This one has a trackable marked in it, but when I found the cache, I realised it's far too small to be able to contain any trackables. So I don't know what's going on there.
Thanks for the cache anyway! It was an easy find at GZ.

On our way back from Hobbiton to Auckland we needed a geocache for our 366 day calendar. Nice cache. Thanks.
