I enjoyed the puzzle. The first of this type. A quick find at gz. All good. Thanks

Got my crayons out for this one as I find it easier to visualise these types of puzzle by colouring in the boxes. Soon had it solved and the calculations done.
On our way past GZ today so we pulled over and made a quick find. TFTC.

Both the team started on the solve for this puzzle, but it was SoBad who finished first as he has done a few of these before. He went on the solve the others from the CO, although we are unsure when we will be able to get them. Today we did a slight sidestep to get this one as, although we were heading to Tekapo, we wanted to go via Pleasant Point. A quick find then a short backtrack made only a small difference to our travel time.
Thanks.

We solved the puzzle some years ago, when we discovered it could have been one of at least three different types of puzzle, but we sorted out the correct type, and with care, the solution was reasonable straightforward. Today the cache was a quick easy find. TFTC

I had great caching plans for this week but now I'm onto at least plan D due to being identified as a close contact to a a pesky wee bug keeping me at home, then work unexpectedly kicking in and then the weather. So 5 days later than planned I am finally on the road to celebrate another family birthday this weekend. The weather has been persisting down ever since I left home and doesn't look like its letting up any time soon so this was the only cache I stopped for today. I'd started this puzzle previously but didn't complete it before I needed to put it aside. Last week I worked through your loopline one so as soon as I had success with that I moved on to this one. I do really enjoy the challenge of working through puzzles like this thanks Tufty. TFTC # 17,967

Great puzzle took us a while but got there in the end. On our way south for a big 4x4 wknd so made the stop. Glad we did as suggested. Thanks for the brain workout puzzle and cache Tufty.

Loved the puzzle. Wrote an Excel macro to help solve. Worked on some others as well. Found as 5th of my 10 puzzles in a row challenge.

Last day of a caching trip with Nosynel. Solved this a few weeks ago. Until then had never heard of this type of puzzle. You learn all sorts of interesting things through geocaching! Thanks for the puzzle and hide, Tufty.

Let's start with the puzzle. Bloody brilliant way of wasting hours during lock down. In the end four people were working on it and one of us solved it.
The find was out in the open. So I put it back in where it belonged. Jude_E and I are on another road trip. We stayed in Dunedin and Oamaru. Last night we stayed in Waimate .Thanks for hiding this cache Tufty I appreciate it.

A fun puzzle I solved a while ago, I quite enjoy these ones. Picked it up on the way to Tekapo this weekend. Cheers

Had this one solved for a while now and today was the day to claim the smillie. Took me a while to figure this one out and with the help of the CO, MM&I and Mr BCD finally after many hours got it sorted and a green tick on the checker.... TFTC and the head ache lol.

This one has bugged me since it was published...being so close to home and not being able to make the find....finally got my ducks in a row to solve the puzzle and make the find just a short detour after work today tftc

I am fond of this type of puzzle, but I had never seen this particular one before. I am fascinated. It was very frustrating for me at first, but I (finally) got the hang of it. If COVID ever ends and we are able to travel again, I would love to search for this one. Especially after all the hard work I put in. Thanks for the mental exercise!

Nice quick find (as opposed to the puzzle) find to start the day.

A fun puzzle, took a while to figure out what it was, and even then there was a fail in the first attempt at solving. But fun once I worked out some simple techniques. TFTC.
Second full day of a 10 day road trip for RG1972 and I to get to Te Anau, attempt a half marathon, and get safely back to Nelson/Marlborough. Today was Chch to Wanaka, so we hand picked a few park and grabs in between food and shopping stops. 20 plus for the day and all in good shape. Thanks all COs and sorry for the cut and paste bit.

Today we are on the road again, travelling from Kaikoura to Timaru. We took a little detour so we could pick up this puzzle which we had been first to solve soon after publication. No problem with making the find, and nice to have a smiley on the map here now. We reallly enjoy this sort of puzzle so adding a favourite point. TFTC

I have tended to just have my GPS on trads, so hadn't noticed this one pop up. But once I'd seen it on the map, it was a necessary solve, then a wait till we were going past, when it wasn't raining. Solving it ended up being a lot more difficult that I expected, or that the tutorials would suggest. Thanks.

After many tries eventually got the green light. In the vicinity today so stopped by sign thr the cache log. All good at GZ. TFTC

A quick and easy find, though it did take a while to solve. Cheers

Heading to Timaru for the weekend, there have been a few new caches published off the beaten track since we were last down this way.

Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 2 of our weekend trip to Geraldine. We headed out about 7:30pm to find a few caches in and around Geraldine before another bike ride along the Orari River.
Neither of us had met this type of puzzle before, but we enjoyed solving it and we both got the same answer. Unfortunately, geochecker said No. Pasted the co-ords I tried into the cache note and solved again in case there was more than one answer. Same result, so put the puzzle away for another day. A few weeks later, tried the same co-ords again. This time geochecker said yes. Weird.
We were keen to add a puzzle cache to today's cache haul so headed out to GZ, where the cache was soon found. Thanks for introducing us to Sugurus and TFTC.

#16727. I've recently discovered this type of puzzle and no trouble solving it. Well worth a short excursion from Geraldine this morning to find it on our trip south. TFTC.

It was time for a Mad Monday Mission and I called TG early Monday morning and a plan was hatched to head out towards the sunset and south a bit to Geraldine. "Yes" was my immediate answer. TG grabbed me just after 7pm and we got to GZ just before 9pm and scored the {FTF}. We were only 157km from home. We decided not to head to Springfield as I had a sitter and needed to get home at an reasonable hour. We did get home at 10.45pm and had a blast in the process. Good puzzle and good fun.

Thanks for the cache Tufty.

**FTF**850pm with TheWanglers
Can't quite remember how but I spotted this new puzzle out beside Geraldine (I think I might have been checking out my DNF's and whether anyone else had found them or not recently!).....looked like a fun puzzle but not one I recognised. A bit of Google searching soon found me a likely puzzle type but try as I might I couldn't get the puzzle to fall out. Hmmm. Have I mis-identified it or something??! Contacted Kiwicouple and they were nice enough to point out that I had indeed misidentified it and what I wanted was a slightly different version of the same thing (the rules a bit more relaxed then what I was trying to do!). Phew. With an easier set of rules I set too and slowly solved the puzzle. Pretty cool, rather enjoyed it.
When TW made contact in regards a Mad Monday Mission & was there anything on the horizon I enquired how far he was prepared to drive for a FTF. As luck would have it he was keen and able for a semi-late evening and a mad monday mission was on.....Bit of a wet cold and dreary drive out; but plenty of time for a talk. "Soon enough" at GZ and making the quick find and sign.
Then time to head for home....(as only on a Mad Monday Mission can we drive ~300km, 3.5hr total, for one cache)....
Thanks for the fun puzzle and the excuse for a drive...
Cheers.

My Beta checkers have found two errors in my equations and I have now made the corrections. Sorry.

We just happened to notice this new cache and decided to take a look. We are familiar with this type of puzzle so set about solving it. We had just finished filling in the grid and were starting to work the equations for the co-ordinates when we got a phone call from the CO. Very timely, as when we entered the numbers into Geochecker we got the big red cross. Tufty checked our workings and realised that he needed to make a slight adjustment to 2 of the equations.
Nice to get the first green Tick. Thanks for the fun puzzle Tufty.
