Logs

24-Nov-24
A caching day out to Kurnell with SueDan83 and Meritonnn.Tried to take the direct route from our last find but that didn't work so had to go around.Made the small creek crossing near GZ without getting wet.Found the cache in a spot that didn't exactly match the hint but pretty close.Slipped on the creek crossing on the way back and got one wet foot.SL TNLN TFTC

24-Nov-24
OCW Sensible Sis and Meritonnn today. We had previously DNFed here, so Dan brought reinforcements and they found the cache for him. So now he was happy. TFTC Nana Nel

13-Nov-24
Used a stick to poke around and it was soon CIH. TFTC

20-Oct-24
Found this cache a little early as it's only October, but it's nice to start getting into the Christmas spirit. Looking forward to the summer holidays and Christmas time. First cache of my solo adventure today. Crossed to the correct side and found the hint to be helpful once I found the correct tree. TFTC Nana Nel

08-Jul-24
Tried to access GZ via the horse park but no good.Retraced steps and was soon at GZ after making a successful river crossing.TFTC

16-Jun-24
Hmm, cold wet shoes and socks in winter.

09-Jun-24
Not for the faint hearted! A lot of spikey stuff and cleared a lot of litter around a lot of trees. Finally found just before giving up!Balance ok coming over. Now going to try to get back. Lucky Im in my hiking gear today. Good luck to all. TFTC!

21-Apr-24
Found it. Nearly fell in

12-Jan-24
It seemed rude to come all this way for a couple of @wazza9 caches and leave this one here, so I made the journey with my balance and dry feet intact. My GPS was playing up a bit for me under here, but looking around, I thought to myself thats a @NanaNel hide if ever I saw one and a short bit of fossicking later, the treasure was unearthed. Nice to cross off another Christmas cache from the list!

26-Oct-23
Tried to come by here once but did not bring appropriate clothes for potential soaking Came back with appropriate gear and after a tricky search the cache was in hand! TFTC NanaNel!

03-Jun-23
My 20th cache! Found with anniejane18. It was covered by at least ten centimetres of ground cover. The only way I found it was sticking a stick in the leaf litter. TFTC -Ajwm18

02-Apr-23
No log to cross, so shoes and socks off, pants rolled up, and across the knee deep water we go. Search wasn’t particularly pleasant but made the find under the obvious tree. A worthy challenge thankyou

11-Jan-23
Son fell in the creek, will have to try again another time

05-Jan-23
Fifth day of the new year and we have signed the log for this cache. Thanks for arranging and giving us the opportunity to explore Nana Nel

18-Sep-22
Took a minute or two realise I needed to be on the other side of the creek. TFTC

21-Jul-22
This was a tough find. Enough spiky branches to tear your clothes to shred on the other side of the creek. Because of all the rain around recently, the logs across the creek were only very slightly above the water in some places and underneath in the rest of the places. Thankfully it held and I was able to get across. Turns out I was looking at the right tree all along, just in all the wrong spots. Once getting around the spiky bush and clearing a bit of it, I was able to make the find. Took a lot longer than I imagined. On the way back, I overran the log crossing by a long way and had to fight through the spiky branches. Enjoyed the adventure. Thanks. TFTC

25-Jun-22
Visited and replaced the container, that went missing.

18-Jun-22
I crossed the creek on the log to get to GZ but the cupboard was bare. Luckily the owners came along and I managed to sign a fresh logbook before it was replaced. A nice adventurous find so close to suburbia.

TFTC.

05-Sep-20
A quick find. We walked through the equestrian grounds, the gate in unlocked. We came within 5 meters of the cache then it was just a case of stepping over the small fence and walking around the end of the taller fence. We disturbed a red-bellied black snake sunbaking. Other than that, no issues. Just watch out for the spikey vines.

30-Aug-20
Quick find once I found the path. Luckily there were some logs across the creek so I didn’t get wet feet! TFTC

05-Jun-20
Nothing went smoothly down here in The Shire today, long walks, no tracks, weed seeds in the clothing so I was hoping this would be a more straightforward cache. Hey, D1.5, it should be.

So I got myself into the area I could see the GPS was pointing, then a fence appeared. After a bit more scrabbling around I managed to get round that and close to the cache, but there was a creek. Couldn't see a way across so went back and round to a park to approach from the other side, plenty of hiding options here except the GPS wanted me back on the other side of the creek.
OK so back and forth I went, must have walked a kilometre up and down on both sides of this creek several times and coming into contact with some horrid prickly vines.

Finally decided to give up but checked the logs. Yikes, someone with just 2 finds managed to get it yesterday - what's wrong with me?
OK one last check of course on the other side to where I was, and there it was, a simple hide really.
That's how it goes some times.

Interesting place, didn't know they had these facilities in the suburbs.

30-Dec-19
Thought I'd try again seeing that the CO was only here yesterday. The gps took me to the same place as before but I most likely did not have the new coords. After much scratching about like a bush turkey I came up with nothing. I thought i'd check a spot I'd looked at last time and spotted the ginornmous brush turkey mound... and lo and behold i found a rather large cache. Wasn't expecting that. I swear I looked here last time. So glad to have finally found this. The poor little creek is bone dry, very different to last time when I had to leap across. Left a TB,

. We arrived in the Shire to collect some caches as we are getting closer to the end of the year and hoping to see the New Year with 22,000 to boot.
This cache was intresting as its backing onto mud flats, its was dry at this moment but it could be fun area to play in.
