It was another great day to be out in country roads and it was good to see some of them were sealed. There was also plenty of good places to park without bothering anyone. tftc
Another week-end, another trip north to Biggenden. Another 'small' detour to find a few caches on my way as well. Another excuse to get out of the car and stretch the legs. Another cache hidden in a ############. Another quick find. Another thank you for hiding the cache for me to find.
Went straight to this one from the road. A fresh smell and a fresh log for this cache. Tftc
Out on the caching trail today. Beautiful winters day. Finally time to do this series in a loop from Goomeri, Kilkevin Tansy. All caches found in good condition unless otherwise stated.TFTCReplaced as original damaged , see pic
Found it! Container is broken and needs a new log book! Also I lost a ring in the long grass between the road and the cache if anyone find it message me or look me up! Thanks
I was on an incredible road trip adventure back to work and stumbled upon this drive-by cache. It was a perfect spot to take a quick break and stretch my legs. The coordinates were spot on, and the cache was cleverly hidden. Thanks to the cache owner for placing this here and adding a fun element to our journey!
After spending the night in town and dining out at the local pub it was time to get out and do colorectal the local area. I am working on a local challenge at home that requires cache numbers in Local government areas and so I need another 80 or so in the Gympie area. This area is rich with caches so off I go. Arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and off I go. I quickly found ground zero and located the cache. After extracting the log and making my mark I quickly returned to the geo wagon in search of my next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Young Old Fella [^]
Checking out the condition of the KKRT hoping to ride the trail next week. Collecting caches along the road as I was driving today.
Another day in Kilkivan. We were going to have an easier day but as usual, it didn't work out that way. We changed plans along the way which was a bonus and headed towards Tansey. Then we decided to drive a loop and headed off to Goomeri. Having no lunch with us we stopped in Goomeri to see what we could find. A lovely older small town with some amazing old buildings and a fantastic bakery. Great coffee, but the pies are up there with Mataranka pies. Excellent. We then headed out to Kinbombi Creek Gorge and Falls another unexpected find. We only headed out because there were caches there, but what a bonus. Well worth the diversion.
We then returned to camp a Kilkivan.
Lots of really good sized caches in good condition.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache youngoldfella.

Finding Youngoldfella caches today. Going through my geocaching papers and saw I hadn’t logged some caches we found when in the area. Sorry for the late log. Found this one and signed the log before replacing as found.
Cheers and happy caching!

In Gympie for the weekend and spending the day out in the Kilkivan area - such wonderful landscapes and country roads to travel through and on.
Thanks for this little trail.
Thanks for this little trail.
Time to get back down to business, hit the road & rack up some more smilies to spread warmth & happiness throughout the land.
Knocking up the numbers doesn't hurt either!
Kilkivan & surrounds were our target areas this run.
Day #3.
#19 of 30 smilies today.
Wow!
Farmers friends/Cobblers pegs, a field of them!
Mrs VC's favourite way to pass her time, plucking the nasty little things of her clothing & particularly out of her shoes & socks!
Nice quick find here ... curse you John!

Hi there youngoldfella.
We found your cache **"Was Once Tall"** today. (This makes our find count 25523).
Today we decided to do a round trip Goomeri - Kilkivan - Tansy - Goomeri. We got almost all the way around before the heat and long grass sapped our energy. (It looks like we will have to return tomorrow to fully complete the circuit).
We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, and our tally today was 32 caches & 0 DNF's.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thank you for adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny

After an early morning sunrise event it was a drive up to Kilkivan for a weekend event. This is my first event of this type so I am not sure what to expect but I’ve been told they are fun and educational, ok. Today’s kick off was 10am so this gave me a few hours to drive up and get a little caching in before the event started for me.
At the event I teamed up with Willis007 and Ms maddy (who drove) to spend the afternoon collecting a few caches and a few first to finds. Armed with a list and some new coordinates we set off for the afternoon of caching. We had a plan of attack in mind and it turned out to be a good afternoon of caching with a variety of cache sizes, hides and ratings; thank you to the CO’s for the placements of these. Sorry for the generic post for this lot but we did approximately 90 caches around the area.
There were no DNF’s and all caches were found in good order and in close proximity to the given coordinates and or hints. I enjoyed today's caching, thank you.

In Kilkivan for the New Year event, a great opportunity to catch up with caching buddies and meet some new faces.
After setting up at the showgrounds and enjoying a morning full of caching, after a quick lunch break, we headed out again to keep finding newly published caches along with some tried and true oldies.
A great day spent out and about, enjoying the beautiful country side.
The cache was quickly spotted, log signed and all replaced as found.
Thanks youngoldfella for the cache.

Nomads hunkering in their caravan near Murgon . We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Now we have to cope with Corona Virus ..... and social distancing. We are currently hunkered with our caravan on a farm at Manyung near Murgon.
Caching keeps us sane in a time of social distancing - when it is suitable. And now we have had some restrictions lifted, we have started caching again.
Today, is Mr D's big 70th birthday, so to celebrate (cos there is not much else you can do around here) we decided to go caching - and add a couple to the RTX series.
Quick find all good here. Thanks for the hide.

Resuming our caching around Kilkivan following the New Year event. Quickly found this one in a logical place and not too challenging for us. Thanks YoungOldFella for placing and maintaining this series for our, and others pleasure. Owz that.

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
I found your cache with my Dad, Oddiewan and most of the time, Semik. I am way behind on logging so learned how to use templates so I can catch up. Sorry this is not a detailed log, but I will do better with my logging now that I have the ability to log caches on a mobile phone. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
After lunch, RoddyC, Hatzofff, NightParrots and I headed off along the Tansey Road to find a few more caches. This was the first cache of the afternoon, It was quickly found and our names added to the log. TFTC
Geocaching with my main squeeze, Oddiewan, my best friend, Moneydork and Oddiewan's sons BitternA4 and occassionally Flash_Cat (he bowed out about halfway, but I didn't mark where we took him back to camp) Oddiewan was on a mission and achieved his 400th and 500th finds on this caching trip. I was happy just to see his excitement of reaching his next milestone.
Caching with RoddyC Selva Girls and NightParrots while attending the Kilkivan Newbies/New year events and cleaning up areas as we go.

A big day out around the Kilkivan area has been on the cards for a while to tidy up many of the smilies left behind after the last catch-up.
Co-ords were excellent and containers generally in great shape, making for a good day of searching. Just needed to look out for the occasional stubborn bovine . Looking forward to the next catch-up event.

Log signed at 09:57 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie and bringing us here **youngoldfella**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

TFTC. Day 2 of our trip away from the House sit at Bundaberg, exploring the Goomeri/Kilkivan area. The plan today Wes to do a loop through Tansey to Kilkivan and then return via the Wide Bay Highway, a triangle shape. A great day 44 attempted and only 1 dnf. I suspect that we were getting tired and there were muggles camped close by. That’s our excuse. All caches were relatively straightforward finds and unless noted all in good order. Thanks to the COs for adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found while staying in the kilkivan area for about a week before heading for the big smoke down south. Having noticed that there was a lot of new caches placed in the area I set about converting some of them to smileys. This is of of the many I have found so far. All were easy find with no maintenance issues. TFTC
This was the third day of our caching trip. Another great country drive. All the caches we found were in good condition and mostly easy finds.
Due to a phone fail we lost the saved/draft log when we did this cache yesterday. So we're just posting again. Sorry for the boring log but we can't remember everything we originally wrote. TFTC.

Another beautiful winters day caching from the motel in Kilkivan. Pleased to see this cache nice and dry because some times these containers aren't waterproof. TFTC youngoldfella
We have travelled this highway before, so today we are just picking some caches that are a little bit off the main road, or ones that we had bypassed before. Each was found, (no DNF logs needed today), all logs were noted with two more names as we travel along with ilook4geo. The biggest problem we had, was that with so many of the caches we were not able to find a safe place to park. Roadside growth is quite long and the gravel parts were very narrow.
Thankfully no accidents happened. Thanks go to youngoldfella for these caches and some more smiley faces on our map for today.

Came to Kilkivan for the 2018-2019 New Year Event. Great to meet some of the names we often see in the logs. Thanks to the organisers for their efforts in hosting the event and their caches.
We, being Goblindust and ourselves headed over to the New year day event at Kilkivan. It was a good catch up and there was the bonus of plenty of new caches to find. We thoroughly enjoyed finding this cache, the area around here is so pretty and the Mudlo National Park was certainly worth a visit. Thankyou youngoldfella for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area
Drove up from Canberra to Caloundra, to stay with my parents for the Christmas school holidays.
While I was up here I also Came to Kilkivan for the New Year Cache Up event/weekend.
This morning PB1973 took Grannysmith, Sweet-Sour, and I up to find the Mt Mia cache, and 4 other new caches, then I went back out with Grannysmith and Millie the geodog and we found a heap more new caches before heading back mid-afternoon and I spent the evening eating nibbles and drinking a beer or 2
