Logs
Logged as a find with permission from CO after a DNF and cache not being found in over 12 months, plus confirmation we looked in the right spot. Finally got my X cache!
Desperate for a cache starting with X I headed out here in blind hope. Not being found for a year, temporary fencing stopping people going down, and a very grumpy person living on the boundary fence we were on the other side of whom other caches had previously encountered according to logs. Long search with three of us, and no cache in hand. My search for an X cache continues.
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 46. Atherton Day 1. For my first day based in Atherton, I went on a day trip to Yungaburra. It is an interesting small village perched on the side of the main road. Around the village I tried for a few multi's, only one out of three. I then visited the Afghan war memorial down by the lake and then headed a bit further afield for a few more caches.
I am happy I had this in my hand before I saw the camo. Very creative.
Thanks for the cache Arachnauts

We camped at he Big4 in Atherton last night and woke up just before it started to rain and managed to get everything packed away while it was still dry.
The rest of the day didn't end up quite as dry but we still enjoyed our caching tour of the area in between showers.
The one good thing about the rain today was that we were having no muggle problems what so ever and the theme continued on this cache. We got to gz and started our search and then Ho,Ho, Ho, the cache was located. It wasn't quite a reindeer but we still added our initials to the log.
Again our thanks for the cache,

Thought we were escaping the winter in Adelaide but struck 2 weeks of cool and damp weather. Did this one between showers. Just love it up here. T.F.T.C
Mr Ski was asked by the bloke cutting the grass if he needed a hand. “Nah. It’s OK mate” A simple straight forward find.
Headed out from Tolga today to explore more of this lovely area, and to find a few caches on our way. It wasn’t a great start to our caching day as we missed a lot of the multis around Yungaburra, but rectified that with finding some trads. Can’t win on all of the hides, even though we always set out expecting to find them!
Thanks to all the local CO’s for developing and maintaining a diverse variety of hides. We appreciate your efforts.

Staying at the Rocky Creek camp ground. Headed out to do some caching and this was one we targeted and found. Thanks for hiding and giving us the opportunity to explore. Fav point
Grey nomads, currently spending time caching in far north Queensland. We have had enough of Cairns and hankering to get back on the road again. Finally up on the tablelands, caching in Arachnauts territory.
You never know what you're going to find when you stick your fingers in a hole. Does X stand for some kind of beetle or Christmas Day? Thanks Arachnuats
Just looked at the two photos attached to this cache. July 2020, see how low the water/lake is compared to today's photo....

What a random area! I’m not sure what the purpose of the red flashing light would be but I’m intrigued. Had the cache in hand after a short search, cute and fitting, I like it. TFTC
Was a little weary at first but made a quick find. Couldn’t sign log so took a pic. TFTC
While finding this cache was pretty fun, we had some random lady come down and question Greencordial and I about what we were doing before saying she thought we were peeing. A bit awkward not going to lie. Other than that, Tftc!!
A very inquisitive neighbour thought we were urinating in the bushes. I can confirm that we were not. However container was found not long after. Thanks for this one.
We hunted and hunted, we read the previous logs and decided that we may be looking for an item that would frighten us, maybe me more than hubby. But no, we found nothing to startle us or anything else resembling a geocache. This one will be for another day.
Easy enough find (although perhaps not where it was meant to be). Log retrieval posed a problem for me though and turned into a funny little story. TFTC Arachnauts.
OK, I think I know what (e)X stands for…
I knew beforehand what kind of structure was here, but only when I was standing in front of it did the penny actually drop.
Had to laugh at the apt placement of the log container. But it was not until much later in the day that it occurred to me what specific kind of critter was represented.
11 out of 10 Arachnauts for your ingenuity and attention to detail.

Happy X-mas
And on me stroll today,
I found that I was lakeside, lakeside, lakeside
So where's the cache at ??
Probably there
And after me first search I couldn't find the cache
Second time around I looked a lot closer at a few spots and discovered that I had felt the cache,
and thought it was something else far more dangerous
The container was soon retrieved after that revelation [^]
Thanks for a sneaky cache lakeside, lakeside, lakeside
And I saw me first jacana of this trip to the tropics here [^]

Out and about for a drive with Walter and Ingrid when we stopped to find this cache. A nice, quick find thanks to the very helpful additional hint.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.
While staying in the beautiful Tablelands we chose a lovely clear sunny day to attempt some caches around Peeramon and Yungaburra.
We had ten caches to be found and they were all hidden by this CO so we knew we were in for some great hides
Well we found this one but are not certain what the ‘X’ represents. I need to study entomology me thinks
Many thanks for another great one Arachnauts

Nice little laneway to the lake. Got a bright when I first grabbed it, then realised what it was. TFTC
Found on my 2nd day of my Atherton stopover. This was a quick find Last find for the day. TFTC.
Bwah ha ha ha ha! I can imagine that there is a bit of noise around this one. I must admit there was a bit of a start when I saw it, but no noise. I was hoping that one of the red lights would start flashing in celebration of my find - but it wasn't to be. TFTC
After a short drive and a quick walk we located the cache. Have never seen a cache like this one before. Very clever. Beautiful view of the area. Thank you for bringing us here.
We are in the area arround Atherton and Yungaburra. We visit the Nature Parks and Attraktion and some Caches.
Here we can find the container after a while searching.
We was a little bit frightened.
Thank you and greetings from Germany send Moorhelmi

What an awesome cache, gave geodaughter a fright,Definatly a fav point here for the scare, found with Cached Up Mummy ,Jules
TFTC! Definitely got a fright with this one. Log was very hard to retrieve as whoever found it last stuffed it in pretty poorly!
We thought this one has something to do with Xmas because we approached it via Xmas Lane[^]. Even bigger the surprise to find a totally unexpected creature waiting somewhere to scare us!
We are not the first finders. However, hence the FTF trophy was still with the cache we decided to take it and to thank you very much for that, dear Arachnauts. We do wish you a joyful 2019 full of funny Geocaching surprises!

Hip hooray we were the first ones to be brave...or at least the geomum was!! Pretty horrible sensation in the best possible way!! Yes I did squeal a little as I bravely felt for something and gave a tug and it tumbled onto my shoes...and maybe I jumped a little too. So fun Arachnauts - thank you. Looking forward to seeing what you create in 2019.
