Well, that was a bit tough. Luckily, I had a hint. Cheers

Health check whilst in the area - Good news is that most of the flood debris from two years ago is now gone! The cache & logbook are in great condition and ready for the next finders. Thanks for all the great logs, enjoy!

Found it with some subtle guidance form he who cant be named. Great spot

Third time lucky! All it took was a return to this spot with a previous finder, and the determination of one Toy Hunters. Mr Hunters had been desperate to plug this smiley into his caching map even longer than I had, so we decided to take our chance after lunching at Fyshwick Markets.Id probably spend an hour or so here over two previous visits, and turned up nothing. Baristayan, on her first visit here, actually suggested a potential hidey hole and, would ya believe it, she got it in one. Tricky retrieval and even trickier replacing job, but got there in the end.Didnt see my old lizard pal who kept me company last year when I was looking. I suspected he already found it and moved on. Thanks Loci!

Found with baristayan, buckoraider, DeadThief and Turtle284 on a great day out before this afternoon's ACT Heritage geocaching event down south. This one has been on my to-do list for ages, I've searched very briefly before with no luck and I think I chickened out in the past too. Today, we were looking for places for lunch on the way to the event. Then, buckoraider suggested going to the Fyshwick Markets and DeadThief mentioned this cache. Despite being a little behind schedule, I was set on the idea of today being the day that I would finally get a hand for this cache. Thanks to today's crew for being generous with their time and missing out on an FTF at today's event because of it, I really appreciate your time. Anyway, it took a few minutes of playing warmer and cooler at GZ before it was finally found by buckoraider. It actually took longer to replace than find, it looked quite challenging! TFTC Loci, nice!

21-Apr-24
Last one of the day.We really wanted to get going to a south side event, but Toyhunters needed his little dose of dopamine and insisted we get this cacheThe find was not as hard as the putting back together. Oh boy, buckoraider its a ripper climber, but a terrible log roller cacherI was terrified by the gaps under my feet, so I wasnt able to help on the putting back together. Only badgering bucko to be better Anyway, going back to the cache: good on you Loci adventurous being. Congrats. This cache is great for that kind of cacher. Myself I think I fell off the Venn diagram, Im not into this kind of caches, but I got to turn a smile on this one at least. So thats something we do get in common here. I would give this an unfavourite point if it was something that was available. I think one day it will, when Im CEO of Geocaching. I think unfavourite points would be as popular as favourite points. We all have nemesis caches and this kind (as well as tunnels) are mine Because I dont have that option (yet) have a favourite point then Thanks for the cache

Wow wow wow, what a cache! Had me absolutely captivated after logging a DNF yesterday. With some help from the CO I went back and spotted it pretty quickly. Fantastic location! TFTC

20-Jan-24
No luck with this one today. Tried to get myself into all the possible precarious positions to give myself the best chance. So I danced and cuddled this bridge for a while, but ecided Ill come back later with fresh eyes and more determination than ever.

02-Oct-23
Danced with the bridge and this little beauty for almost an hour, but came up empty handed AGAIN. Toughie!!

This one has bested me again. Next time

Gosh! What a hidden and awesome glimpse of history here!
When we arrived in the late afternoon, there were patches of blue in the sky above, as if the autumn was trying to show some positivity.
It had been raining for much of the day, and the creek below us was running quite quickly. It’s amazing how quickly some rain can really get the creeks and drains running fast.
Arriving at GZ, just as we were about to enter the bridge location, a fox darted out from below the rails, and dashed off past us.
On to GZ, and a hefty search, however, this will hidden hide was elusive.
We knew we were very close to the find, but decided to message the CO who confirmed our location was correct, and that we just needed to search a little more.
With everything stowed safely in our pockets we started to search once again.
Looking below us at the moving water, we decided even our hats needed to be pulled down tighter in the afternoon breeze. Best not lose anything here!
After one final search, where we thought GZ might be, we put our phones back into our locked and zippered pockets, and began the search once again.
This time we came up trumps!
It looks like this hide will be safe from any unexpected visitors.
Fun!
A FP for sure.
Thanks Loci612

Righto South Shunt Bridge…let’s dance!

Stopped by for a first crack today but only had about 10 mins and was defeated. But this isn’t over…

Looks like I forgot to log this one straight away Razz

Fortunately for me I was with the CO, and was in the general area for some other caches, when Loci mentioned he wanted to swing past this one. I was more than happy to accompany him, especially as I was yet to find this one. Certainly a very tricky hiding spot! And most certainly a very cool location, have not seen anything else like it quite so close to Canberra. Nearest I know of is near Royalla!

Thanks for the fun cache and for highlighting this area!

10-Nov-22
I was dropping Wilma at the train and keen to take some time to go into the nearby patch of green i had never been to south of the train tracks and hence with lots of unfounded cache.

This was my first one to come to. Parking location was a plus and just down the road from where I was. First forgot my pen and did a quick return walk back to the car. Realized quickly what was and a quick look at the logs made me put all things out of my pockets that were at risk falling in. The recent log of the CO made me hopeful.

Went to were my phone had me at zero (zipped it away) and started my search feeling around and looking under and in. Eventually I was luck to just get the slightest glimpse of it with the right angle. But this is were the operation began. Trying to retrieve and return without dropping anything else seemed almost impossible. I had a good position and did everything supper carefully and succeeded but boy was I happy when that operation was over, very stressful. Not sure if it has always been this tricky to access hard to imagine all other so far managed without dropping.

Thank you Loci612 for putting the cache and adventure and maintaining it.

Cache check today - the debris at GZ doesn’t affect accessing the cache in the slightest. In-fact this is a huge clue and cuts down the options tremendously!

Good luck Smile

21-Aug-22
Finally, a 4 x DNF avenged! I've had several long looks and a couple of drop buys for this one. I've also performed a lot of monkey climbing in and around the structure. Mostly with no luck. But today with a new clue from the co and a lot of debris to push away I made the find after 20 minutes of looking. Ain't no one is finding that by accident.
In the end it involved a belly crawl to spot the little blighter.

Glad nothing of value was dropped today. So much potential for things going in the drink!
Thanks for the crazy fun! A favorite point just for the the elation of finally ticking this off.

BTW there is still a lot of debris on the bridge. I the ACT government was busy with coppins crossing. Smile

08-Aug-22
Think I'll come back another time, so much debris to dig through atm

Thanks so much Loci612 for putting out this challenge

25-Jul-22
After my recent DNF in the dead of night I decided to come back during daylight. I climbed all over this bridge to the point of taking my jacket off because I got hot. I wasn't supposed to do ay exercise so soon after a plasma donation, but we all get a bit carried away occasionally. Once I shifted my search to another area I soon found the cache.

I am also glad I didn't fall in, get stuck or dropped my phone.

TFTC

PS: as I was logging this a big male Grey Kangaroo crossed the upper rail tracks...

What a challenge. Took some time to find. Fortunately I didn't end up in the water.

20-Jul-22
I gave it a good look over, bent, squeezed through, tried not to drop my phone - but it was dark and no cache appeared in the light cone of my head torch.

After reading the logs I decided that daylight might be instrumental in a successful find.

I will be back!

28-May-22
#2300 DeadThief had offered to help out with some maintenance so I joined him this afternoon to have a look for myself and replace with a fresh logsheet.
He still made me do all the hard work and make the find while he sat back taking it all in. It took quite a bit of hanging on, bending over, looking under and feeling around before I was finally able to make some contact with the cache. Then began the deft balancing act to install the new log and reinstate the cache to its hide.
Needless to say the Thief wasn’t impressed when accidentally whipped across the chin by a stray blackberry cane which had grabbed my shirt on the way out.
Thanks Loci612 for a well hidden cache and for highlighting this little piece of history.

14-May-22
Couldn't find it. Lots of debris on the bridge from recent flooding. Hope it didn't wash away

13-May-22
#348 “Marty, You’re just not thinking 4th dimensionally. Don’t you see? The bridge will exist in 1985”. I’m a big back to the future fan and the location of this cache just gives me Part III vibes.

This one hasn’t been found in a while and the CO actually gave me a nudge to come find this one a couple of months back at an event. So being that I’d just finished up the day at CIT just down the road I figured I’d give it a crack. Now given the recent rainfall, it probably wasn’t the safest time to think about heading down closer to the creek that was rushing past almost at the height of the bridge! Arriving at GZ I was eager to put my phone away given a clumsy history of dropping it. I’d had a look around and read some previous logs that had mentioned peculiar positions for the retrieval of the cache. And I think that lead me straight to it. I’d find the cache within about 10 minutes of arriving after having a little finger feel around after moving into a spider-man like position. The log was a bit wet, given it’s potentially been underwater with the rain this year and I’ve messaged Loci about it after saying it’s definitely there! Returning the cache was a bit of a struggle given the position I was in but I can confirm through all the weather, foliage and debris that the cache is in tact and still hidden. Thanks for the cache Loci! A challenging retrieval and an enjoyable view, with a passing by train (on the active bridge further down the creek at one point.

20-Mar-22
I spent ages here clearing debris but without much luck. I consulted another cacher later and discovered I was not looking in the right spot. I'll be back.

13-Jan-22
No luck
But determined to come back for it!

05-Aug-21
Cache checked, it is still well hidden with no issues!
Will send a message to the previous DNF’s to give them a hint for next time.

I’ll replace the logbook next time I swing by, it’s getting a little bit old but I can’t find the one I thought I packed… oops! It should be ok until then Smile

Cache on!

Coordinates changed from:
S 35° 19.396 E 149° 9.577

Coordinates changed to:
S 35° 19.397 E 149° 9.578

Distance from original: 7.5 feet or 2.3 meters.

Accuracy updated by 2.3 metres. It was hard to make them more accurate than they already are, but after many tests this slight change looks like a winner.

Cache has not moved and is still the original container in the original hide.

13-Jul-21
I had a 20 minute look for this one while on the way to another cache. Fun exploring the bridge. But no luck.
I'm wondering if the co-ords are spot on or I have to expand my search area?

13-Jul-21
Coordinates should be spot on, or within ~2 accuracy on your device anyway. The only comments about coordinates have been to say that they are good! Smile

It’s a tough find hence the D4, I’ll get out here ASAP when I get a chance though to double check it’s still there.

Thanks!

Oh dear - you've heard of the Old Red Rooster?? Well, that's me - can't do what I useter! Froze part way along the approach then panicked. Had to have a nervous.........ha ha.

Easy walk along a muddy track to GZ but too much of a difficult situation for me to get to the cache. Sorry to have to DNF.

Too tricky for me Sad

Out for a day of cycling n caching with Winter Dragon
30 minutes at GZ we climbed all over this bridge, then a random local & her dog walked past Smile

TWDG and I gave the bridge a decent going over, but no dice. On the plus side was the lady who surprised us at it - she announced herself by offering to sell us the two bikes she'd found nearby - I was down below decks and popped my head up at this. So surprises all round I guess. Had a bit of a chat about the weedy state of the track, 3D modeling for movie making, and geocaching, and then she was off, her dog happily trotting on the sleepers. Probably not quite the most surreal experience I've had while caching, but definitely up there.

16-Apr-21
Out today trying contact lenses for the first time. The optometrist said I should just walk around and chill but I'm a Maverick so I decided to do some geocaching because why not.

I have came here before and tried for about 30 minutes without any luck. I thought I had searched everywhere and almost fell in a number of times. Also happened to run into a muggle here which was a bit odd considering the location. However he seemed friendly and didn't ask many questions about what in the world I was doing. My glasses almost fell off twice during searching which is why I came here with contacts.

Well this time I found the cache the first place I looked in less than a minute! Honestly it was very well hidden but the attachment gave it away. Seeing it is very tough. Putting the log back wasn't too hard though. TFTC Loci612! What a great location!

This was my 5th attempt at this one. To-day a quick find as I looked in the only spot I had not previously searched. Had the wife with me, handed her the cache and sent her away to extract and sign the log whilst I remained precariously perched. Really well hidden. TFTC.

08-Nov-20
Searched for a while without luck and decided to search from a different angle..and SUCCESS! An interesting spot to explore- TFTC

08-Nov-20
Found with sjg66 on a rather adventurist afternoon, not that we planned it this was. Targeting some of these hides South of the train line, we underestimated the regrow and water lying around everywhere. All we found in reasonably quick time, given the conditions. This one was spotted after reading recent logs. Took some time to open it as the lid was jammed on tight. TFTC

08-Nov-20
I supervised O319 from afar as he retreived and signed the log.

04-Nov-20
Even with some great help from a passing by Iamcoust, I still had to take a different view before I spotted the little devil. Very much a case of if you are not prepared to stick your fingers in places you can't see you are going to miss a lot of caches cause I checked this area before. Tftc

Aquilus1 have been struggling to find places were we both need caches.... especially as she has found bloody everything!!

This morning I had to drop off the geodaughter to her first ever real shift of work.... so exciting, but of course that was going to interupt the mornings schedule, but Aquilus1 was awesome in picking me up, then picking the geodaughter up from a sleepover, then taking her to work.... fantastic.

We then started nearby but with it all being so marshy and snakey (yes, Aquilus1 has the power to levitate!), we decide to stick to easier locations, and just over the border in Queanbeyan provided that in spades.... as well as burgers.

So, thats to all the CO's for todays hides, all found in decent condition.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This one has clearly been submerged recently.... and the water was still very high. Last time over this bridge it was a little scarey with the drop being not insignificant, this time it was a struggle to stay dry

12-Aug-20
For those of you checking the found logs for hints and tips....I'll be glad to oblige you. Don't go see your personal trainer immediately before attempting this cache! ? TFTC!

I wandered to this cache from the Jerrabomberra wetlands after picking up a GLISS! multi.
With a D4 rating I figured I could be here a while, but managed to locate it promptly using the 'where would I hide a cache' method! A neat hide and devilishly tricky to screw the container back together after signing the log!

Seems a few of us were out and about today with this one in sight. Was with Kittykatch and Stars align when found and it was pretty tricksy to put back. But a good one. I have never been here before so pretty cool. TFTC Loci612

17-Jun-20
Found today with Joolay and net up with Stars Align and I amCoust.

Condition Report:. Good and dry
Log Status:. Lots of room

Thanks for hiding this cache Loci612

17-Jun-20
GeoPartner and I had been looking for quite a while but without much success. So we headed off to find a Tankengine instead. On return we were very fortunate to meet up with IamCoust, and ALL7, KittyKatch and Joolay. Lovely to meet them all for the first time - up close and personal.

Many thanks for the help from a previous finder. We had looked in the same spot however the cache was very secure and not visible. It needed to be prized out of hiding before becoming visible ..Grrrrrr.. it was just too clever despite two of us having ‘searched' that spot.

In the end it was a joint find for those of us still to make the discovery. A bit hard to return but not impossible. TFTC Loci612.

05-Jun-20
This is one of my favourite caches. A fantastic, interesting location and clever placement which gets the heart pumping just enough to make it an adventure.
I searched high and low for this cache. I even managed to slip my corpulence between two railway sleepers at one point to search in a little alcove above a pylon. My goodness I hope nobody was filming my re-emergence.....
Finally, I decided to take a different approach (who wouldn't after almost getting stuck between two sleepers on a railway track?) I started looking from a different angle.....and spotted it immediately! I managed to collect the log easily, but putting it back proved far trickier -adding to the fun.
Good one Loci612. A FP.

On a maintenance run today, log was only half full and in good condition so decided to leave it as is Smile

Found on a fine Autumn day for another drive around while at Canberra. Wink
Met up with The Green Geckos and had a good trek around all day.
Cache condition is OK/good. Quite a serious search to find this one.
Thanks for the cache Loci612,

Caching with Roostaman today. This was so much fun. We had a cache guardian today but he kindly moved a foot away and the log got signed. Great spot for a cache. TFTC

Found at 12:56:00 PM

I looked around for quite some time
On this structure I did climb
It was creaking quite a bit
Almost gave up I do admit
After searching this place thrice
I saw something I thought nice
It was hard to get it out
With one hand I swung about
Had to balance in the end
To get the cache onto the thread

Thanks Loci612

Decided I needed a cache this weekend and this is one I've been keen to get, but have had to be patient while my knee recovers from an op. Don't need to be falling into the creek and doing myself more injury and hurting the pride!!!

Got to GZ. Immediately spied a cache guardian in the area, then proceeded to look around, up and down. Then I looked closer at the cache guardian and realised it was 'actively' guarding the container. So, with some negotiation, we came to an agreement. It shifted temporarily, for me to grab, sign and return...with care. TFTC Loci612. A fave for the fun.

Plan A for today was to 'place' my virtual, but conditions were not favourable enough, so it was on to plan B: find as many caches as I could before this afternoon's CITO. This was my seventh stop. I spent a few minutes surveying the scene, while some muggle mountain bikers walked their bikes across the bridge. Once they had passed, I made my way to GZ, and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.

Another week past and at last it is time to get out and do a bit of caching. Things had got a bit late so by the end it was dark, but that helped in a way. I am sure I have done another cache here, but this one is so placed it should be safe from most things. I was happy to see the notes about how to see it before making the final perilous approach and fearful replacement. No splash this time !

Thanks.

18,649. Headed out to grab some caches today with GSC2000 to finally complete my self-imposed challenge of getting every calendar day to 20+ caches.

With 3 newish caches in Fyshwick we decided to visit the area. Well this was a lot of fun. Took heed of the previous logs and searched from under to spot it for the retrieval from above. I did the spotting and GSC2000 did the retrieval - great team work.

Thanks Loci612 !! Fav Point for the location and hide.

Nice idea for a cache location! It didn't take long to find it at all as it turned out. Reading previous logs helped. TFTC.

07-Jul-19
I hadn't been to the Wetlands for ages, so I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity today to grab my big bird photographing lens and take a walk around. The chance to grab a couple of caches was a nice bonus.

It had taken me three attempts to find the Derailed cache that used to live here, so I wasn't entirely confident about finding this one today, particularly as I was just on my own with no caching monkey to deploy.

In the end I did spend a while going up and down and along and in (kind of). Based on accurate coordinates and a chunk of caching instinct I had a fair idea of where it might be, but of course a fair idea is really not good enough! A train came by on the other track while I was looking, just to keep things interesting.

After quite a while, and not long before giving up time I managed to get in just the right position to spot something. My big lens came in handy, confirming from a distance what I thought I was looking at. Getting to the location wasn't so hard, but a fair bit of concentration and dexterity was needed to complete the process without any kind of disaster.

TFTC Smile and a favourite point because it's an interesting spot here.

Found with Goldenwattle.

Decrypter and I walked to the market, enjoyed a cup of coffee and cake, admired the wonderful upholstered individual chairs a shop has (if I needed a chair I would likely buy one of them...gorgeous) and then walked onto here. It was a team effort, one down below and one up higher. I spotted the cache, although I wasn't convinced that was actually the cache until Decrypter retrieved it and confirmed it was the cache. Very sneaky hide. Monkey work needed here. I remember finding another cache here in the past, and it is a good place for a cache. A train passed on the neighbouring rail line while we were searching for the cache. Brilliant yellow autumn leafed poplar trees nearby. TFTC Loci612.

Last one today for us so thought we would try what looked like it could be a tricky one.
After being to the one that was here before we knew that it wasn't going to be as easy knowing the CO. Well it didn't let us down. FFLL#1 did the monkey business while FFLL#2 stayed on Terra firma.
Good spot to be too as it was spotted from the ground.
So a quick retrieval once getting into the correct position and then signing and making sure nothing was dropped.

Tricky hide Loci612 thanks for the hide.
Gets a fav from us.

23-Apr-19
This was certainly an interesting one to be able to tick off. We had been told by others that this was a great cache if we were in the area so we made sure we were and were not disappointed. We took quite some time to locate this after looking in what we thought were all the obvious places. That meant the only places left are those you wouldn't suspect. Of course, then it was found. Thanks so much for this mini adventure, loved it.

23-Apr-19
After speaking with Jascat, we decided to attempt this one as she strongly recommended it. We were not disappointed. None of us were put off by the location although we did wonder how close the train was as we heard it approach. One of the ladies squeezed down into a possible hide, no luck. The other lady in our group decided to play monkey's and came up trumps, although she did take off all things that may dislodge easily.
This was certainly worthy of the recommendation and a favourite point. Thanks for bringing us here.

*23 Apr 2019, Found @10:36 am, Find # 2795.*

This was one of an ever growing number of caches on my to do list. I wasn’t going to be able to do them all on this trip, but then where’s the fun in that. The CO himself had recommended this one and I just knew it was going to be a good one. This was a tricky hide, but from the right angle I managed to find the sneaky cache. As I was walking back across the bridge the bridge suddenly started to vibrate. It’s amazing how you can live somewhere for a period of time and not even know that this was even here.

**Thanks to Loci612 for placing this cache.**

*23 Apr 2019, Found @ 10:36 am, Find # 9213.*

Day five of the Clear Waters Mega.
Today I headed out with Jascat to find a few caches of significance in and around Queanbeyan and Canberra.
On to this one next and we made our way along the flooded track and the Rails to nowhere and found ourselves walking above the water, but where do we start, well it was down inside but it didn’t matter how much I looked around, I just couldn’t see the cache.
As it turned out jascat was in a matter better location and after a bit of turn inside out, the cache was then found and the log signed.

**Thanks to Loci612 for placing this cache.**

Today we found South Shunt Bridge on our travels. On our fifth day in the ACT while attending the Clear Waters Mega. In the company of Geoturtle+Papi we had a recommendation from Jascat to have a goat this one. Well she was right, wasn’t it fun! After some toing and froing, it was decided to take phones and sunglasses to a safe spot and just go for it. The monkey was deployed and was eventually successful. There was no banana reward after the fact sadly but there were lollies waiting in the car.
Thanks Loci612 for being part of our geocaching fun.

No problems locating this spot by pushbike Razz
Just follow the trails out back of the postie vans Smile
I was soon on the right track,
so wandered out onto the bridge [:o]
Oooh !! I wouldn't want to fall into that *stuff* [:o]

Cautiously I poked around the bridge.
A quick poke around revealed no caches.
No surprises there Razz
So I stood around for a bit and thought about it.
*"Where would I hide it ??"*
There Smile

And there it was [^]

Gotta get lucky sometimes Big Grin

Fave dance time while being careful not to fall through the gaps.

We couldn't work out how to get to South Shunt Bridge. We started on the other side of the wetlands with a high fence between us and the cache. After riding along a tarred path which became a gravel path, then tufty grass, we eventually came to the bridge. And that was the easy part.

We looked down, up, through, trying to get a glimpse of something that looked like a cache. Then we did it all again but this search found a new spot and the cache was there. Getting the log back had it's own D rating. It was a big sigh of relief when it was finally done and everything was back where it was supposed to be. An evil hide that's for sure. TFTC Loci612.

Ok ... Finally catching up on my logging for all of my finds during the Clearwaters Mega (getting around to doing things is not one of my strong points - lol) so sorry about the late log (I am logging it as the date I found it on, but am actually typing this in June ... so only 2 months late Smile

TFTC - After a nearby event, and a cache find near the nearby event, I decided to tag along behind a car load of Cachers I know, to find a couple of fairly new caches in this area.
First I followed them to the other one, then back in our cars and headed to this one. Had a fair idea of where it would be (as did IamCoust, I think), got myself into the right position and sure enough, managed to get my fingers on it ... bit of a fiddle to retrieve/replace the log, but fiddly fingers monkey me didn't have much trouble doing that Smile
... after reading some other logs, I am now kind of disapointed we did this in the dark - sounds like the view below may have been interesting ... I may have to come this way for a daylight look at (and walk over) the bridge when I come and get the other nearby caches that I have not yet found.

TFTC,

Set up camp for the MEGA and went out to gather some caches. Mrs Team GBS was the lucke one to see and grab this one.

Visited trackables.

After the nearby event at capital brewing with dty73 as our driver and with Tankengine, IamCoust (who smartly called shotgun quickly!) and myself, we went out for a few caches it the area.

A few caches later and with Aykayem along for the find as well we made our way along to this cache. I have found a cache in this spot before, although that one was in a very different spot!
AKM and Coust made short work of getting where they were needed, I'm not sure if the dark helps or hinders, I'm going to go with helps!

After a shortish search the cache was spotted and a little to work it from its spot, many photos later from our two observers to record the event, and possibly any mishap?! All went well with the two very able and capable searchers, I played my part by staying out of the way... but it must be said, I held my torch well and had the pen!

Thanks for the cache Loci, and a big thank you to the company there with us, always fun!

Once the seating order had been agreed to by all i.e. I called shotgun, it was a quick drive to as close as the gutters would allow us to drive to GZ. From there it was a short walk by torchlight to begin our search. Nothing like hovering over a body of water at night I say. With that in mind, a group effort didn't take long to find the cache. Great work team!! Signed and replaced it was back to the car, a drop off, where some went home, and everyone else went on to party it up around a bonfire. TNLNSL TFTC

Having met the CO of this cache at the CITO this morning we simply had to come and search for this cache, which we did while out with wazza9 and Nana Nel this afternoon. We all started to look in different places and then not too long after Mrs Team GBS found the nicely hidden cache. We stamped the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded. Greetings from Zimbabwe

Found after 30 to 40 minutes of searching. Lots of places to investigate and some hard to get to. A largish lizard (a water dragon, I think) was having a snooze on one of the recesses I was thinking of investigating, and it gave me pause.
In the end I was in a position, and simultaneously the sun was in a position, where I thought I saw something. When I investigated further, I found the sneaky hide.
It took me 5 minutes to get the cache closed up. Eventually I found a way to use two hands safely.
A very challenging micro and I'm feeling a sense of achievement for finding it.
TFTC!

First attempt Sat night in work clothes was a miss through fading light .
Back today and the co - ords looked like the right spot , it was just a matter of sides, angles , up / down and finally found something that felt like a Cache .
Fav point added for the rail themed historic location and sneaky hide .

Chooo ooo [FTF] number 81 for the day… Damn – and 80 was such a nice round number. Oh well, not going to knock back an FTF. Smile

Dty73 and I were not too far away from here when these were published. However, we were well and truly locked in, and had no means of escape. Besides TYM was very entertaining! Once we finished there, the two new published caches were surprisingly still unfound – after over ¾hour, that is amazing. Maybe I tired out Flintstones earlier in the day Smile. So we went to my cache first, as that was the closest. There we found The Pi Guy, already searching! I decided to sit down and let The Pi Guy and dty73 have a good hunt! But I was in a dilemma! The longer I let them search, the less the chance for a FTF at this cache! So after a while, I started to drop a couple of little hints… Not too long after, that cache was found, and we were on our way here!

Yes, I knew this entrance well, have used it many times. Indeed, I also knew this bridge! Have found a cache here before – but that one was no where near as evil as this one! The coordinates were good, but still, there were a lot of places where it could be! I managed to squeeze myself in to a few very awkward locations! – Well, I knew that is what Loci would do! – But it wasn’t there! Then finally, in another scary location (only when I shone the torch in the wrong direction), I finally spied the sucker! But man, how to get the log out, signed, and then even harder – returned! Well, it was all achieved in the end! Thanks for the company dty73 (a most entertaining evening), and also your company The Pi Guy! And thanks Loci for placing a new cache in this cool location – a favourite from me!

*FTF* with The Pi Guy and Tankengine!!!

Tankengine and I were just down the road at another engagement when this and another new cache came out. We still had about 45mins to go and so I kept an eye on the two listings.

With still no finders logging, we dashed out as soon as we could to pop down and pick up the first cache as it was much closer. The Pi Guy was there already looking around for that elusive cache. Together we searched, but after he found that cache we twisted The Pi Guys arm to come join us for this one. Really it didn't take that much twisting ; )

So we parked at the suggested parking spot and followed the path to the bridge. Tankengine knows this place very well and I had been here once or twice before for caches as well.

After a bit of a search of GZ and a discussion on "Now this is a Loci612 hide. We know what he is like!" and not long later Tankengine found this one. It was a bit tricky to get the log out and putting it back in, but Tankengine managed it well. Tankengine did joke that perhaps it was better doing this in the dark as with only torchlight you really couldn't get scared of the hieght or anything. Thanks Tankengine for an overall great night out, what more does a girl want than a bit of entertainment then finish the night off with a couple of hard ftfs ; ) And of course tftc Loci612!!!

Joint [FTF] with Dty73 and Tankengine, after meeting up with them by the lake from another FTF search. This one took around 10 minutes with the three of us searching, but eventually having tried everything from searching from both above and below the bridge, hanging off it and climbing under it, Tankengine came up with the goods.

Thanks for the cache Loci!
