Broke my trip north with a few caches. Pretty chilly along the coast. Cache in good nick. Thanks, Kiwi Moose #10452
A quick park n grab while heading home from a family get together in Kaikoura. The day is the most magnificent we have struck along this coast in a long time, thanks for the cache Kiwi Moose.
Mum was away for Lion Convention near Blenheim this weekend and decided to come home via Kaikoura to visit her brother. Of course some caching was needed to break the journey. A nice quick find here and then a quick look at the statue across the road before continuing towards Kaikoura. Thanks for placing this cache and adding to our smilies
Another buzz buzz buzz down the coast on Bumblebee in between some road resealing and some more major works. An easy find here as I had read the hint before leaving the last find. I didn't even need the GPS.
Happy stop for Piwaka54 and me! Sadly on our trip home from a wonderful tour around the upper south! The found caches trace a big heart on the map which is how we feel! Loved it
**20,531**Need a refresher stop which is always better when theres a cache about. Quick easy find here and then we were back on the road again heading towards Picton and our up-coming ferry crossing. TFTC
We stopped for this one on our way up to Picton, but couldn't find it. Stopped on our way back and managed to find it. Phew! Much better weather today too.
On way from Kaikoura to Nelson and finding caches on the way. Thanks for the hide.
Heading back to Blenheim after seeing the grown up kids in Christchurch this weekend. Had plenty of time to stop and grab. No problems here. Thanks for the history and a smiley
Very wet, names are no longer readable. I could come and replace the bag and book another time I drive through.
Hallo, auf einem Road-Trip über die Südinsel Neuseelands auch diesen Cache gut gefunden.

We were in NZ on a holiday hoping to spend a bunch of time geocaching; however, we ended up in ISO due to positive COVID tests! Once our mandatory isolation was over we were able to travel a bit and grab some caches on our trip. This cache was on the to do list for today. Cheers and TFTC.
G’day there Kiwi Moose, we were in this area today and found your cache WW2 Clarence River Radar (Marlborough) GC81ECR. Our name was added to the log book at 12:21 pm on 17 July 2022. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

Can't go wrong with a detailed hint like that.

Log super wet. Apologies no caching supplies in the new car we just collected from Christchurch. TFTC
Rather wet log. If I had known I would have put a spare logbook in my pocket when I walked fryour parking place. We're on our first summer campervan trip. JDScout and I plan to do three this summer. This trip is from Christchurch to Motueka to Blenheim and back.
Thanks for hiding this cache Kiwi Moose I appreciate it. It has helped add an extra layer of fun in our holiday.

After parking the snail shell up in Kaikoura it was time to visit all those caches I saw on the way south and couldn't stop at.
Oh, it's not that post but at the next one.
Cheers for the cache.

Off on a road trip to Chch for the weekend. With limited time and raining on and off. We still managed to get in a bit of caching along the way. Down the East cost and back up the West cost was the plan but stormy weather put a stop to that. With no roads open to get home on we stopped in Kaikoura for an unplanned extra night. So thank you for for the caches you placed out there for us to find we had fun and frustration finding them along the way. Looking forward to the next trip to find the ones we missed. Apologies for the cut and paste.
Staying in Kaikoura for Easter and decided to go collect a few caches on the road North toward Clarence River. Interesting to see that one of those new maori pou has been placed just across the road. Tftc
A nice quick find here although I forgot to heed the warning about the ditch! TFTC.

*We soon had another good cache located, now onto the next one!*

A quick park and grab.

(# 5980). Day 2 of my South Island odyssey. Today is getting caches from Blenheim to Kaikoura. The weather was decidedly average with mainly light drizzle interrupted by heavy rain. It's the first time I have driven along the coast since the earthquake. I can now appreciate the carnage that occurred. Even how much the seabed rose around Kaikoura. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
#7755. I have a meeting in Blenheim next week so decided to add a few extra days to the trip and rent a car so I can pick up the Marlborough TMGT caches. So flew over early on Saturday morning and heading south today to do the Kaikoura section of the tour. Its a nice day but lots of fog and haze around. Decided to do a few caches heading south to break up the trip. Having driven past heaps of unfound caches I decided I needed another short rest and pulled over for this one. Had to laugh when I saw the cache name. It was the cache I had set as the centrepoint when I uploaded the south Marlborough caches from GSAK onto my GPS. Pure chance this was the next stop. Quick find. Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks Kiwi Moose for the cache. Interesting bit of history you would not know except for geocaching.
I headed down to Kaikoura from Blenheim today. The main purpose was the Geo Tour Caches. Found a few others along the way as well. On the way back now, doing a few on the left as we go. No trouble here. Cheers and TFTC
The second reminder I've had lately about the very real threat of invasion that New Zealanders experienced during World War II. Thanks for pointing this place out.
It's been a while since StreetWalkerNZ and I had a caching weekend away and finally the planets aligned (and the weather forecast was good) for this weekend, so we made plans for a trip to Blenheim. A successful day 1 with 36 cache finds (plus 5 lab caches) , and 3 DNFs .
It pays to read the cache page properly as SW and I were scanning the ridge for a possible location, instead of the base of the hill . A quick find - just followed the geotrail . TFTC.

#17503. Nice quick P+G. Not sure whether we managed to work out which flat bit of terrain we were supposed to be able to spot. Thanks for the interesting historical info. TFTC.
.Stopped here to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers. Thanks for the cache write up about the significance of this area.
Toby, The Seagnoid and I are off exploring to Kaikoura again today. Its an easy day of mostly P&Gs as TS is the walking wounded at the moment, and not walking much, but can play navigator on this trip. So lets go! A great day with many stops on the way we usually drive past to greener pastures for TS.

Taybeedragon want to go to Kaikoura and collect all the caches along the way, and invited me along as navigator. Why not - I have a free weekend, and there are a few new ones along the way. The only snag is that I tore my thigh muscle 4 days ago, and walking is quite painful. Luckily they are all P&Gs, except one that is a 200m walk - I threw the crutches in as well.
I like my rail series. Talks about the history of the nation and some of the stories that went along with it. And the cache finders can look about and see some remaining evidence. It must be a bit hard to talk about history when all that remains is a bit of flat land.

Decided to grab as many caches as we could on our way to Picton on a very nice spring day. Thanks CO for the cache.
A quick find here on the opposite side of the road to which I was travelling. All good, TFTC Kiwi Moose.
Driving to Christchurch to catch up with family this weekend, a long one for us Malburians. A few caches on the drive down then while the traffic is light and the light is good.

Heading home from picking up a car in Wellington and just off the ferry and had to grab a few caches on the way home. This was an easy find. TFTC
A nice quick find today. Probably could have got the FTF but the traffic was horrid when we passed by. Found today, nice and quiet traffic wise. Cheers.
First trip away from Christchurch for ages. A great day up to Kaikora, with a few detours too.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Interesting the things you find out about while caching.. thanks for the history.
Quick stop here, before yet another road work stop half a k up the road.
Thanks for the info and cache

After being thwarted by the circumstances on our previous visit, today the cache was fairly quick find in the rain. TFTC
For some reason I had thought this one was placed on the other side of the river so completely overshot it. A quick U-turn and back for a nice quick find. Interesting back story thanks Kiwi Moose. TFTC # 14,365
A great 2 weeks of travelling the south island it's been amazing great weather only 1 half day if wind and rain nearly 500 caches found over the time incredible views tftc a quick find here I thought I had it sorted by the hint prior to approaching and yes I did but then it was an ahha moment tftc great place and area to explore hope to visit again the Sourh Island soon. No muggles around only traffic zooming by none caring what I was up to tftc signed the log and placed it back exactly where I found it. Great place to be great weather to
Heading up north for a few days, had a great drive up to Blenheim today 60 caches for the day, road busy and foggy in places. Thanks to all the caches placers - Bitsprayer
I had originally planned a 2 day overnight caching road trip but some family commitments intervened which shortened my plan to a 1 (long) day road trip instead. I aimed for the east coast south of Blenheim and went for it. Although the weather on the day started out a bit grim and grey, it brightened up as the day wore on and I had a great time finding 40+ caches along the way. After going as far south as the St Michael's Church cache I turned around and headed north and homewards, finding a few more caches that I had left on my way south. Found this cache as per the hint. Thanks for the interesting listing and TFTC, Biggles.
Heading south towards Kaikoura this afternoon and this was a cache published since I was last through here. A brief stop, a sprint across the road and a quick find in the second place checked. Signed log, thanks for the cache and the interesting bit of history - I have visited a number of the sites around NZ for these old radar stations but I had no idea that there had been one here.
Found going south so needed to walk back a bit. Easy find while observed by nearby cattle. TFTC
Found on 25/01/2019.
I was up at the top of the South Island competing in the South Island Orienteering Champs. This gave me some time to grab some caches on the way there and back. It was great fun to explore a new part of the coutntry.

Decided to leave this one until the way back as it would be on the right side of the road then. We headed back from Kaikoura after a good visit and at G Z there was a ute and trailer parked up. No worries, pulled in behind and they soon moved on. Soon had the cache in hand and added name to the list of finders. We think we saw some evidence of WWII stuff up on high, not sure. T F T C Kiwi Moose, time to head backto the heat of Blenheim now.
Todays plan was to head to Kaikoura for a leisurely drive out as part of mrs capperz birthday weekend. Yesterdays trip to Nelson gleaned 8 caches and a nice lunch out together followed by a modest win on Lotto. Today was a steady trip out, coffee at Kekerengu, obligatory sushi in Kaikour and 6 caches whilst out and about, including a bonus FTF! Decent temperatures weer in the late 20s so not too much walking was ventured into.

13 January 2019 10:47 AM. Heading north with ethness and caching as we go... another much appreciated quick find. Tftc
Heading north for the ferry, with a bit of time to find a few along the way. Cool history, TFTC!!
Not our best day's caching! This cache was planned to be the first cache we found while driving from Blenheim to Christchurch today, but first we were delayed in Blenheim while a puncture was repaired, although we did find 3 caches while this was done. Then there was a major road accident less than 100 metres south of the cache. As a result we took 2 hours to travel the last 3.9 km to the cache, and as it was surrounded by emergency vehicles, and we were running out of time, stopping to look for the cache wasn't an option. In fact we ended up driving straight through to Christchurch.
