Enjoyed the walk down from the pub and seeing the variation in rocks.Answers sent and approved On Kangaroo Island for a few days mainly for parkrun and sightseeing. Of course we are caching, in our group of gridge98, CourtneyRose and Sandyofthesea. Freddo, I found Emma Dreaming, Arthur White, Chris Muss today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
A great little bay tucked away here, interesting to read the plaque on the rock here to.Courtneyrose_ and I headed fora weekend away to Kangaroo Island, we came to check out the sights plus to compete in the Marathon. A great weekend away with a few caches found along the way. Thanks for the cache
Amanda is working for a while in KI and Ive come down to visit for a week. Doing our best to discover every cache on the island during our time. Grabbing the ones around Penneshaw before I head home this afternoon and this is the last one for the day. Magic weather for it and answers on the way soonThanks for bringing us here and TFTC.Definitely worth the terrain rating
We have arrived on Kangaroo Island for a 5 day break. We first had this trip planned several years back but that year KI had an extreme fire situation happen and we were offered a refund on our trip which we took. We have waited this long so that the island could regrow and show herself at her best.We intend to use geocaching to guide us around Kangaroo Island, today is our first day and we have just got off the ferry, this is the first cache we have attempted. A lovely area, we met a wonderful old man walking his dogs who gave us a tip for a good coffee place and it was good. Our answers have been sent to the CO SL TFTC
Day #5 Leaping Forward AdventuresIts the final day on Kangaroo Island so posums and I are slowly making our way back to the afternoon ferry before traveling in to Adelaide.A nice little hideaway down here that we were able to explore on the way back to catch the ferry. We inspected the area and gathered our thoughts. Thanks Freddo for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the Geowagon and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent, Wellington, Cape Jervis and the Kingscote last night its now time to slowly head back towards Penneshaw to catch the ferry back to the mainland.Kangaroo Island has been on my bucket list for years and Roaming Howie had to squeeze back into the Geowagon put up with my driving and poor navigation for another day.Continuing along with our Geocaching expedition and visiting the Flinders Chase NP in the South West corner of the islandyesterday was one of the highlights of the Island. We will see what we can find on the slow trip back today and I didnt realise that the island so so big and I also didnt realise that Kangaroo Island was the first permanent settlement of South Australia even if it lasted only 4 years. We are just about back in Penneshaw to catch the ferry back to the mainland but there is always time for another one.Found somewhere to park the Geowagon and off we went down to the beach.A nice spot tucked away in here and we worked out what was required and recorded our findings.Answers have been sent to the CO.Thanks Freddo TFTC.
Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful place .. it took a while but we made it. The geological information was very interesting indeed. Thanks Freddo for creating this earthcache. Answers sent to CO

#7145We arrived on Kangaroo Island a few days ago, and today is the day we leave and head back into Adelaide for a few days, but of course we have to grab caches on the way! Had a great day getting jasmer grid caches, oldies, cool DTs and various other caches and types!First cache of the day, on the way to the ferry. Wandered down and had a look around both waypoints and came up with some answers. Nice spot, and the cuttlefish around here were massive!Answers shall be sent tonight. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Freddo!

On cruise aboard the Grand Princess seeing Australia. We are only 9,299 miles from our home in Texas. Unfortunately, it is a dreary rainy day in a beautiful spot. We put on our rain gear and went out anyway. This has been an interesting cache and I think we learned a lot. Sent my answers to the CO in hopes he will be lenient on a Texas boy. The best part so far has been the people we have met near the cache sites. Everyone has made us feel at home and we will have a lot of memories we can treasure. Thanks for bringing us here for this cache.
Goldy and Jimmy are off to Kangaroo Island to see some sights and pick up some caches along the way.
I enjoyed a variety of different caches, seeing cool spots and catching up with GooseyC for dinner on Thusday night.
All caches stamped with joint "Jimmy and Goldy" stamp.
Before boarding the ferry we swung by here for this cache.
Answers gathered and sent.
Cool location.
Thanks Freddo for this EarthCache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 2484 on the 11th of February 2023.

Owl and Eagle are on the Grand Princess for a short trip to Melbourne. Their trip to Seal Bay was cancelled so they decided to explore Penneshaw instead, which had a surprisingly large number of things to do. By the time they got to this point Owl's legs resembled an earthcache, but the views and interesting rocks were worth it.
Hi Freddo, I was at KI today on a cruise ship and went to this earth cache. Here are my answers. At way point 1 there are 4 rocks one with a plaque on it. They have an orange red tinge to the top half and are rough but not too rough. I couldn’t see any striations but imagine that they are horizontal like the rock face at way point 2. There are scattering of crystals in the rocks which look like the ocean and wind beats them a fair bit. Thanks for this earth cache Freddo.
On KI today on a P&O cruise from Melbourne. Great chance to do some caches whilst in here. I completed this Earth cache and sent my answers to the CO. Great little bay and worth a visit if your on the island. Thanks Freddo. I even saw a pod of dolphins whilst attending to the other caches.
Wow the rocks here were just amazing with the beautiful Color’s and the formation. Thank you for taking us here and teaching us about this place . Giving this a FP for such a beautiful place
Found while visiting KI on a cruise ship. Amazing little inlet here. Gathered the clues abd amazing amount of shells here too. Answers sent. Thanks for bringing me here.
Found on our holiday to KI. This was our last full day on the island so it was focussed on the eastern end. Such a great spot for grotty yachties to rest their heels. Was also good to learn a bit more geology too. Thanks to Freddo for the hide. Answers have been messaged in.
Yay. Found it. Many thanks for the earthcache Freddo. Despite getting stuck in the mud, while tide was out, I was pretty impressed by the two locations required to visit. It was a quick FTF run to KI but lots of cachy variety was had
Thank you for placing it for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when required. TFTC

Second cache on the island after landing on the midday ferry and grabbing lunch at Millie Mae's cafe.
Parked almost legally given that my 81 year old mother was in the car and went off to find the answers.
Nobody about except for a man messing about in a boat in the bay.
Thanks Freddo

We were supposed to be on KI almost 2 years ago but the fires scuppered that and we turned around 500m from shore and that was that.
Roll on 20 months and the Covid pandemic and rather than being os as we usually would we find ourselves on an enforced SA road trip, not quite the same as Taiwan as planned .
But the great upside is we have had an amazing time firstly a week of walks and incredible scenery in Flinders Ranges and now a week on KI. Life is good, new LGA ticked off finally and more cache hunting to be done. .
I really will be on the bad list now so many EC to compose answers on, tomorrow nights job now we are back in land of internet.
Loved this EC more geographical than geology so more up my alley.

A quick stop to gather some required info brought back memories of mooring at this little cove overnight with a sailing club. Answers to the CO to follow. Thank you for the placement of the Emma Dreaming, Arthur White, Chris Muss cache Prof Freddo find number 8434 on 9 September 2021 at 4:07 pm
After confirmation from the Professor we are happy to log.
Geez there is a few dollars of boat moored nearby, with the shocker weather at the moment its a good thing they are tucked away in the cove.
Apparantely at the moment the water is contaminated and there is a sign to stop people going to low and going into the water, therefore rocks were admired from a short distance.
Penneshaw is a delightful village that dates back nearly 200 years and resembles a Cornish fishing settlement. Christmas Cove in Penneshaw is known as “the old town” as it was the centrepiece of the township around the early 1900s with little churches matched by a liquor tavern next door, the post office, the grain store and the little boats which went out from Christmas Cove to transfer produce to the mainland.
We were trying to find why its called Christmas Cove but the bit of history above was about it.
Thanks Freddo for broadening our knowledge once again.

Wow what a gem of a little cove......an incredible place... the different rocks especially the red terracotta horizontal stripe on the cliff surface...The whole area had very interesting surfaces and history. Lots of people going in and out of the cove....fishing, diving groups and local dingy owners. Thank you for bringing us here. This was one of our first stops after getting off the ferry. Answers sent and ok given to log find.
Well we know all about erratics since yesterday! Quickly spotted the odd ones out and made some observations before moving to wp2. A very nice cove. The algae lines on the rocks particularly spectacular. Tftc
Found It!
The first of many earthcaches for me this weekend. A nice set of boulders.

Trip log:
When it comes to our trips for GreyHams and myself, opportunity seems to play a big part in the timings.. be it an event, sales on airfares or car hire, in this case it was my visiting SA and being there that worked so well for this one!
So it was a drive up to Adelaide to collect GreyHams from the airport and then a trip that would see us ending up in Mount Gambier in the South east of SA, close to my family holidaying nearby and conveniently located that GreyHams could fly home to his. Perfect when a plan just comes together!!!
The primary target of the trip was counties, about 21 in total and we had almost the complete opposite need of counties from each other. Of course we also targeted other caches of importance, oldies dominated the state but there was DT, virtuals, webcams, Ausmer and types. If your cache made our list it had a quality we were wanting, or as GH says, we were waiting for a ferry or a plane!
What a variation in the places we visited, from Adelaide's suburbs out into the hills, the ferry across to Kangaroo Island for the night and the many coastal regions through Victor Harbour and Goolwa. Through Murray Bridge and out into Mallee Country to Lameroo before turning and finding a great bed and meal at the Keith Hotel. Continuing South into the very bottom of the SE of SA before returning north slightly to make the plane, in time and that arrived! So much wild life through the areas and locations of interest, it was great!
Had to love the Santas through the Adelaide hills, seems that stuffing a Santa suit is an art form all of its own, and entertained us for a long time! Kayaking to an island on Kangaroo Island was fun and although the donut from Port Elliot bakery had to pass with masses already queueing... the chunky steak pie from Willunga Bakery might not have been as good as a pepper pie later but it was still damn good! Its the little things sometimes!!!
Many thanks for your cache that led us about on a varied and very enjoyable trip!

Cool little bay. I only just got the cache title now I am at home logging all my finds, at least we came at the right time of year..... very funny and deserving a fave point
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This trip came together due in the best way! Aquilus1 was over in SE SA visiting family, yet had a bunch of counties unfound between Adelaide CBD and Victor Harbour, I was missing all the counties south & east of Strathalbyn. What could be better than flying over from Canberra and being picked up at ADL airport and knocking of ALL the counties all the way to Mt Gambier, where I flew out. Last minute Covid shenanigans in Sydney & Melbourne threatened to derail it, but all good.
Of course our trips are more than just counties....we have a range of targets: Oldies, webcams/virtuals, larges with challenges and D/T thrown in for fun. If you are reading this log, then this cache had some quality we were hunting (or we were waiting for ferries or planes!)
We saw such a change in countryside, from Adelaide Hills, to Kangaroo Island, up to Borrika and then down to 'the Mount'....and the Santas! I can see areas where christmas lights arent the done thing, its stuffing your own Santa and posing them in the front garden, saw some very funny examples, we were chuckling for an hour I swear.
South Australia has such a wealth of very old caches, its wonderful. We grabbed lots of oldies and are now just a single find off our Ausmer challenges (just need to get to Melbourne or Brisbane for the last).

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
We are here visiting, house and farm sitting for three months. There are only 89 caches on the island. Hope we get smilie faces on all of them.
Back in Penneshaw with our friends SnappyTomCats, caching a few more caches. We found this beautiful spot. Have passed a few times, but not had the time to call in to do the earthcache. Answers are to be sent to Professor Freddo.

This was day five of a two week trip to Adelaide, starting with Kangaroo Island. This was our last full day on the island, so we went out to Cape Willoughby, then looped back to Penneshaw with a stop for lunch at Dudley Wines.
This was the last cache I did on KI. I had to hurry since the muggle wife was waiting in the car, impatiently tapping her foot. Answers (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) were sent. TFTeC.
