21. november 2024 09.36# 4937First time in New Zealand and obviously we should try to find some cachesFound with our youngest daughter - 'gida' Geogreetings from Denmarkviridis / Peter & Charlotte TFTC
Our stage today takes us from Kaikoura to Picton. On the way we see sea lions again, many wineries, unusual stones and trees and great beaches. The caches also take us to places we would not have otherwise visited. This way we explore the area and can turn some caches into friendly smileys. A big thank you to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany

Actually we havent been aware of the seal colonies over here, but we spotted them while driving. So I stepped on the break and we took a look. There have been more seals I have ever seen in my life before. TFTC #437
Nice quick find here whilst having a look at the seals. Shame you cant walk to the waterfall anymore as it was lovely watching the seal pups play.
Tftc. Loving the seals. Last time we were here you could walk to the waterfall. Lovely to see a good view point and the seals returned
Merging my accounts. Found this as "Ambers007" on 09/10/2022. Now tracking together with "Hoterini" and merging the old finds.
Great little find with beautiful scenery. Travelling in a campervan with the family from Australia! Love this spot
There were only a couple of people here to see all the seals down below on the rocks, so nobody to disturb us here whilst finding the cache.

I'm down from Auckland for a couple of weeks and this afternoon drove from Blenheim to Kaikoura and stopped to find this cache along the way. Stopped at the lookout here and saw an impressive number of seals and their pups this afternoon. The area was fairly quiet, so I was able to make a quick find of the cache. TFTC!

Greetings from Canada. Touring along the #1 highway today doing some sightseeing, seal watching and caching. Having a great time. TFTC.
Greetings from Bath, UK. On our way to Kaikoura, I was driving and hubby says there are seals. Spotted the carpark/viewing areas and quickly pulled in. So many baby seals there today - lovely. I went to take a photo for the Virtual and realised this cache was so, so close. Oops no pen, they're in the luggage. Took photo and have sent it to CO as proof of find. TFTC
There were sooo many seals! And so many baby seals! A local told us the seals have trouble finding enough fish to survive due to the warming of the water. Hope mother nature can restore our damage. Tftc
Many thank. Thank you for the cache on this beautiful spot. So many baby seals! FP from us.
Drizzly day, lots of seals. We love stopping here but have never remembered to check for a cache till today. TFTC!

28/9/2023 Find #6662Day 20 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventures. Today we left Nelson, journeying to Hanmer Springs. We were keen to grab a few caches along the way. We pulled in here pleased that we could grab both a virtual and a traditional here AND as an added bonus, see some seals. And when I say see some seals, apparently I mean see an absolute ton of seals!Big ones, little ones, sleepy ones, restless ones. They were all there for the viewing. So much so that it was easy to get sidetracked and forget about looking for the cache. Luckily tho the brains kicked back into gear (I think it was Fangsoki who mentioned dont forget the cache) Thanks for the cache GH6710.
Heading down to Christchurch for the weekend. Had time to grab a few caches on the way. Managed 10 caches all close to the road. Quick stop, find, sign and then time to watch the seals. Last time we were here was pre earthquake so interesting to see all the changes. Great spot, happy to add a favourite point. Thanks for the smiley
Raining, so not many muggles.
Easy find.
Cache safe and dry.
Lots of seals looking invisible on the rocks.
