Found it! Today I aim to clear out as many caches in Broken Hill and Silverton as I can! Standing at the last cache I was less than 200 from this one! So decided to make the short walk down and up to find the cache. Another stunning spot! Unfortunately the cache was full of water the logbook was damp but still managed to stamp it. Unfortunately I didn't have a replacement on me today. TFTC!
Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Stopped in Broken Hill for a few days and toured around with the help of local geocachers taking us to spots that locals know about. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining
We parked where the road finished and came cross country up to the top of this Hill. It is so silent up here and the view is 360 and spectacular. We sat at the table and chairs as we added our name to the log. This is so serene and peaceful and very beautiful to be here. All good with the hide Thanks KPKprojectDomsky
A brief escape from the old work before starting at the new - this was all miles from the "rat race".The Purrfect one said let's go caching, and Jack came to help out! Silent - almost - the serenity indeed,.. (just what I wanted before the busy week ahead!!!) You feel on the edge of the world out here. Almost...A cache a day keeps the boredom away... [:o)]Thank you for this cache listing KPKproject and it's ongoing care. ------------------------------ ------------------------------ Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Purrfect Di helps out a lot. And even Jack. Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)] I do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log... someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs. Is that all? Oh well, thanks for reading!Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! Much catching up of logs lately, as barely enough time to cache around work and logging has hit a pause... but, you know, prioriities... work's just gotta leave time for a cache and notes everywhere! C'est fini... For now... ... until then Ce sera !-------------------------------Oh wait... have you snagged a tag lately ? Get out there and see snagthetag dot com for a fun side game that gives f t f chasers and sparkly thing chasers something extra fun to do... It's a game where giving a little and becoming a hider shows your support and keeps the fun alive for all. And there are NO BL**DY MINT TINS so it must be good Enjoy
I'm not saying it was entirely silent on the way to Silent Hill when the track veered off so sharply downhill we couldn't see it and then straight back up but it (I) was silent when we got there, especially on such a windless day. A beautiful natural landscape.. I just wished we had some decadent unhealthy treats with us to enjoy here. TFTC KPKproject.
Out caching with my caching buddy, MrsShep77, and our faithful drivers. Thanks for the great hides.
Im not sure why people would walk here but once at the cache the scenery is certainly enjoyable. TFTC
We left Victoria on the 6th September and are making our way to Queensland to attend the final QOGM Event along with brisal5. We are stopping at caches that we have missed on our travels through this area other trips. An enjoyable stroll to this cache and an easy find once there.SL TFTC

The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 2: Today we moved eastwards from Cockburn only as far as Silverton for the night so we could explore around there and Broken Hill. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks KPKproject for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Freddo and Team Waldron headed to warmer climes around Broken Hill, Cobar, Bourke, Cunnamulla
and Charleville.
After a cold start in Broken Hill the weather improved once we got further north. Sadly our last night in Broken was wet which, pardon the pun, put a dampener on things.
All up it was a great week away and lots of caches were found with only 3 dnfs.
Thanks to all who placed and maintained their caches. The occasional cache was damaged and we refurbished it and we also left new logbooks as required.
The second on this little trak. Cache quickly found.

Freddo and Team Waldron are heading north for a long delayed trip to the caching fields of Cunnamulla. This cache was found on our journey. Caches were fixed where necessary. Fresh log books added. Containers refreshed.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Together with my son, I am on a camping trip from Sydney to Broken Hill and back. On our 3000 km journey over 11 days we have seen some wonderful little towns, beautiful landscapes and many interesting geocaches.
A great drive up the hill in the geo-Jeep. Once we arrived at the top, the views were breathtaking. Flat lands as far as the eyes could see. FP awarded!

Having driven almost all of the way to a neighbouring cache, I proceeded the extra couple hundred metres over on a 41 degree day. It was so hot that there were small birds sheltering from the sun under the nearby table. Found promptly, it was back to the car for a cool drink. This caching stuff is hot work on a day like this. Thanks for placing this here.
While staying in Broken Hill on not a sucj a sunny day we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Wow, Wow,Wow, what a great adventure in the 4x4, or a long walk. A very scenic drive, not easy, a bit of a challenge, not having high clearence could be an issue. This is why we love geocaching, bring us to places like this, extremely enjoyable!!!
Caches and contents were in good and adding to our favourites. We could not cross the deep creek at the end so we had to retrace our tracks back out to the main road, but well worth every bit of the drive.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Took the walk to this one. Not too bad as the weather is cool. Would hate to try this walk in summer. Grabbed cache and had a nice walk back to the car. TFTC.
A couple of days at Silverton before the Inaugural Mundi Mundi Bash. Headed out to find our last 2 unfound caches in this area. Fantastic views and a great drive. The track is damaged from the flooding rain a month or so ago so we had to retrace our drive to return to the pub for lunch.

There are not enough words and photos don't do this vista justice. It is breathtaking. I so hope that we will come back one day. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
The views out here really are spectacular. Thank you for another great cache in this fantastic location.
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

We are heading up to Townsville for the mega up there going a very convoluted way chasing Lab caches and Corners with Micaparamedic, papi4506 & Geoturtle37.
We stayed in broken Hill last night and did a little bit of sight seeing this morning and of course silver ton was in the list of things to do. It was too early for the pub so we went out to the reservoir to pick up the cache that the others hadn't had and then headed off to find these which are new since our last visit.
Coming in from this way was a great little track that we all really enjoyed even with the few extra washouts since the recent rains.
We pulled up near gz and as the page had said not in the pyramid we didn't bother looking there at all but spotted it's baby brother and sure enough the cache was uncovered and the log book now contains all our names. We then proceeded to admire the expansive scenery and grab a few photos with the area looking green after the recent rains.
Many thanks KPKproject for the cache.

Finally got back out to this fascinating historic part of the country after a few years of "restrictions" and noticed some new caches in the area. Oh, and wear good shoes when pursuing this and the other local caches on the hills.TFTC
I chickened out on this one and let the male Triton take the cruiser up by himself. Great views were had on both hills.

Only 35 years between visits to BH and Silverton I started off my minibreak with a trip out here. Scooped up all the caches bar the one I couldn’t get to and had fun exploring.
Na, not a 4WD hoon, but really enjoyed the drive out here mostly on 4 wheels. Must be fun on the MTB trails too Parked at the top of the hill taking pics of the crazy landscape.

TFTC,
After finding the Run, it was time to experience the silence.
Got to a turning spot about 250m from the cache after negotiating the slope around the hill and decided to walk the final section. Went up, down and up again to get to GZ and didn't find any silence. The howling wind made sure there was no silence but what a great view. Added a favourite and visited trackables.

Mr 4yo was very grateful for the band-aid in the cache after a stack. We didn't leave a swap and forgot a pen so will have to return!
We’re had planned a caching trip with Wilbert67 to SA and had to cut it short due to COVID lock down, so we came to Broken Hill, it has been so hot today but managed to bag a few caches including this one.

After a very hectic day we managed to escape SA, Ending up in Wentworth way after midnight. This morning on day 6 of our road trip it was re planning time, no caches for hundreds of kilometers either way. So we ended up heading to Broken Hill and Silverton. Great caching day, but again very hot!

Headed out to Silverton this morning to find all ten caches in the area and to beat the impending thunderstorms that were forecast for the afternoon. Really enjoyed driving the 4WD tracks out to the mine site and around the nearby hills, taking in the scenery with the thunderclouds looming over the horizon. We were very keen to complete the Silverton caching foray before the rain set in, and luckily we did as these tracks would have become impassable (even the sealed main road from Broken Hill to Silverton was closed for the afternoon and next day!). Thanks for the cache KPKproject!
Pa and I are on a 5 week trip around parts of outback NSW including Broken Hill. Today we decided to drive out to Silverton to collect as many caches as we could. This was another good drive towards GZ. We luckily had some good advice from a friend that helped us find our way to the caches out here through the maze of tracks that showed up on various maps. It was a very easy find at GZ, once I got there. Yes the last 300 m was a walking track but that was a great walk in the sun and the cool breeze stopped me from getting too hot. Brilliant views from the top. Thanks so ,uch for this cache KPKproject, it deserves a FP. The log now carries my name.
I was here a few weeks ago but I missed out on a few caches, in silverton and broken Hill due to time constraints, and with caching it’s almost like unfinished business leaving caches unfound. Parked car near run to the hills cache and walked to this cache and beyond. Tftc
West New South Wales trip 2020. Day 5. I was joined by MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 for a trip planned to go from Goulburn to Forbes, Nyngen, Cobar, Broken Hill, Wentworth and Balranald. This was our second day around Broken Hill. We spent the day at Silverton. Caching and doing the Dream Time Mine Tour. We found a few good hills, and plenty of interesting places to visit.

Day 5 - A full day spent caching and touring around Silverton, finding many interesting caches along the way. Day 5 saw us touring around Silverton collecting as many caches as we could along the way. We detoured out to the Day Dream Mine tour which is well worth doing. In logs we signed as MK, F65 & A33.
Quick find here today after a fun 4wd out here. Walked the last 200m to find an amazing view.

The second find we came across this afternoon while out exploring the areas around Silverton. We walked to this one while enjoying a trip away during the school holidays and made the most of some Winter sunshine and open space. Again another quick find as we wandered along, thanks again KPKproject for the hide and for bringing us here.
Wow what a location. On a better day it would be amazing just to sit here for a bit.
We have visited Broken Hill - Silverton area pre-caching. Caching and holidaying with 2beez, today we ventured to Silverton. This area was interesting and somewhere we haven't explored before. We ventured from cache to cache in our 4wd but did see some people out doing the heritage walk.
We continued on past here (back towards Rabbit Holes) but you end up at a dead end, well for cars anyway. It's only a foot bridge.
Thanks KPKproject. Cache in good condition. A FP added for the location.

While staying in Broken Hill for a few days we opted for a return visit to beautiful historic Silverton. As we arrived we were delighted to see a couple of donkeys enjoying carrots from folks at the pub before wandering up to the bakery where we are told they are sometimes given pies to eat
Shortly after that three folks arrived with three camels to complete this iconic scene
While in the area we also did a bit of four wheel driving around Umberumberka Silver Mine and later to the now empty Umberumberka Reservoir and then enjoyed lunch back at the Silverton Hotel.
We decided we needed a little exercise so enjoyed a gentle hike of a little over 2 km (return) along the Heritage Walking Trail which we found on our way to the Silver Mine.

Walked across from broken hill tour #2 and it was pretty rocky!! Made a quick find them back across the hills to the 4WD
I took the hard way to this cache, and could not understand how the terrain rating was so low. Walked to GZ and saw the way I should have come. Good 4WD action though and good exercise traversing the slippery slidy rocks. This cache was found easily.
Found this one after a short walk from the wrong direction.

The night before arriving in BH I spotted this FTF on offer. The heat we were experiencing gave me cause for concern. We have had a heatwave with temps up to 49degrees...not conducive for a 4klm hike. Some investigating, and I had a few options.! My best proved successful, and I only walked a mere 400m return to my car, and a stonkingly good FTF to boot! I was actually worried when I saw a name in the log book, but it was the CO - phew!
Thanks so much to the CO. This deserves more visits!
