Lady Luck on our side today with perfect weather to climb Quamby Bluff. Its not an easy stroll but we enjoyed it none the less and met some lovely people along the way who took some pics of us at the top. Wed found and replaced the cache before they caught up with us again there.Picture perfect 360 degree views what a spot for a cache. Big FP from us. TFTC and the adventure

Great day for a walk to headed up to Quamby Bluff to see what I could find. Took a bit of searching but finally found it.

I've been looking at doing this cache for a few weeks but was holding off for a good day. Today looked promising so it was decided we'd have a go.
We started off a little later in the morning than planned but it was a cool day so the walking was easy. The walk started off nice and easy but I could see on the GPS map that some serious up hill would be required sooner or later. The uphill was fun clambering up and over rocks. There was also some beautiful scenery with ferns and moss along the way. Once we started gaining elevation we were rewarded with some great views.
Finally we made it to the top where the walk flatted out somewhat for the last few hundred meters.
We arrived at GZ and had the whole place to ourselves. Actually we had only seen two other people who were on their way down. We set about searching and easily found the cache after shifting quite a few rocks out the way.
Happy to have found this one after making the effort to climb up here.
We rehide the cache and once again placed all the rocks back on top.
Once the caching duties were done we had clear skies and no wind so we could sit, enjoy the view and take it all in.
Eventually we had to think about going down. The track was easy to follow and we made it back to the car without any drama.
All up it took us just under six hours to climb up and down.
Thanks for placing the cache, it was an enjoyable experience finding it.

I didn't have a pen!
But I took a photo...not a great day but I imagine it would be a beautiful view

I’ve had my eye on this one for a year. However the recent DNFS were a put off. With a recent find I made my up here. Glorious day in good company with my mentor who has taken me under her wise wing since I moved to Tassie. We climbed to the peak chatting along the way and then stopped to admire the view up top. There's this crazy guy my friend and I passed on the way who has a full pack with a paraglider and an inflatable boat attached to it. He is planning to jump off the top, paraglide to the river, inflate the boat and row home from there ! Hope we don’t read a coroners report about him tomorrow!
I couldn’t find the cache. There have been three recent DNFS and then a sudden find but without much context. I used the spoiler photo and can confirm it’s not there. I had a spare cache in my pack and replaced. This was not intended as a throw down, but rather a way to keep the cache in play for others at this glorious location. I hope there are no issues with this. Thanks

Didn’t find it despite looking for 15 mins, firstly in obvious spots, then using the hint.
Searched all possibilities.
Given last entry suspect it’s disappeared

Couldn't find the cache with 3 people looking for about 10 -15 mins. Noticed it hasn't been found for 10 months based on previous activity so assumed it is missing.

Driving back from Devo yesterday to Launnie and this Mountain caught our eye as needing climb and a quick line up of the geocaching app and it showed a cache already there. So next morning the forecast didn’t look good but we thought with an early start we could beat it. Any way one thing lead to another and we didnt arrive at the parking spot until 9.20 and a few clouds where rolling it. The walking track sign said 5.5hrs but we know how those are generally rated so headed off. Some lovely mosses forests before the up for serious and the sea of rocks to clamber up more than earnt it’s T3.5 rating. So steep sections and we lost the track in spots while it is well marked and defined in others. As we broken out of the canopy on the south side of the peak the wind and rain had certainly kicked in and at this stage we where glad of both the fleece and rain jacket. Another rock scramble up to the plateau and off to the trig. Plenty of puddles and mud despite the flag stones. At the trig we didn’t want to stop for too long with the cold and a search in a few spots turned up the hide. We completed the signing duties and re hid. A quicker decent but careful with the slippery rocks and muddy slopes. Coming down was easier to stick to the path and back to the car at 11.35 for a 2hr 15 min return trip to dry off and warm up in the car. TFTC.

Beautiful day for a walk and great views, but couldn't find the cache may have been buried under the snow.

I saw this cache get published right at the start of the year, due to limited time left in Tasmania, I wasn't sure if I would get the opportunity to venture up and find the cache let alone claim FTF.
With nobody claiming a smiley yet a trip was planned with KalebClark a few days out and the hope the FTF would still be on offer.
We set out from the carpark with the walk not looking to promising with low level cloud hovering over the bluff, we continued on as we had the cache in mind and not so much the view at this point in time.
After 50minutes of walking we made it to the top. We must of been walking fast!!!
we made to to the trig point and I pulled out the GPS. Oh the cache is 480m down the side of the mountain. As you do we started to head towards it and we got within about 300m before the terrain got way to overgrown and became quite steep. I thought with a bit of luck the CO ay have stuffed up the co ords, back up to the trig point and with the help of the hint we searched around the base till I found the cache under a large pile of moveable rocks.
Opened it up to find a fresh log book and to claim FTF at 1330.

Thanks for the amazing walk up the bluff. And a return walk of 2.5hours. It was well worth the view and the experience of finding the cache. I have sent some new co ords that I have averaged using a garmin montana 680t. Hoepfully future finders are able to find it without and hassle.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Let's see what's up with this one.

It seems I messed up with the coords. Since they're off by over 161 m, I'd like to archive the cache and request a new publication.
