We were unsure about searching for the cache as there was a mine vehicle parked at GZ, just as we decided not to do it the workers came over and asked us what we were doing we said we had wanted to look at the house and history they said to go ahead it was open to public and then they kindly drove away leaving us to find the very clever cache and to enjoy the history. Fav point. tftc
Wasnt sure I was allowed to be here, but I just ran with it. Cool history!----------------------Decided to do a long road trip, flying in from Canberra, starting and finishing the drive in Port Hedland. It was a long day of flights, followed by 7 days of lots of kilometres. I stopped at every 'point of interest' along the way, I wanted to miss nothing! Earthcaches, Virtuals & AL's are always very good waypoints for interesting things as well. Every night I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and these made the kilometres fall away. This was the first outback road trip I have done where I saw more emu's than kangaroos. The wild camels walking in the desert were also very cool to see. My trusty swag served me very well.
We are on a Bucket List Trek, from Busselton, in the South West corner of Australia, up to Cape York, Australia's most Northern land point, and return.
We are travelling through several iconic tracks, through the Gawler Ranges, the Oodnadatta Track, the Birdsville Track, the Bloomfield Track and the PDR Track to Cape York. Now returning home via Nhulunbuy, Wadeye, down through the middle to Uluru and across the Great Central Road back to WA, a little detour out here before arriving home.
As we meander across this awesome country, we stopped here to enjoy the scenery, check out the history and wonder what life was like here all those years ago.
Thanks to the CO's for adding to our journey as we headed to Cape York and back.

Thanks for the cache, very clever! Found on our trip around Australia with our cat Willow
What a fascinating area, and to see barely any of it remain is quite impressive. Quick easy find. TFTC.
Sorry for delay to the log.
Find it and sign the log as EV. Thank you for the organising the cache and hunt.

Found during three weeks away with e.gregory1 on a trip along WA's Great Central Road and a caching circuit of the WA Goldfields. We travelled North on the Stuart Highway and out to Kings Canyon to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. From there we headed in a south-westerly direction along the Great Central Road with a number of detours along the way, including Surveyor Generals Corner and Empress Spring. Then it was down to Laverton and Leonora before turning South to Menzies and Kalgoorlie. A few days were spent on a circuit back up to Lake Carey and around to Queen Victoria Spring before returning to Kalgoorlie, then out to Coolgardie, Kambalda and Norseman, and heading for home along the Eyre Highway. The WA Goldfields is a fascinating region of incredible scenery and history that we experienced over a number of days while touring the area. Thanks for the cache Probsty!
Found on another trip with FeatherWaite over 3-weeks through South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia. This time the plan was to head up to Kings Canyon, across to the WA border via Uluru and Kata-Tjuta, then down the Great Central Road, with a few side-trips along the way before eventually getting to the Goldfields and home via Queen Victoria Springs and the Eyre Highway.
We had some mixed weather to start, with a few overnight showers, bit warm temperatures and mostly sunny days.
A quick find here. All in good condition.
Thanks Probsty for the cache.

Day 56 of our tour of the South West, Wheat Belt and Goldfields, and we find ourselves in Leonora. Today we are travelling the old Leonora Laverton road stopping at points of interest and geocaches along our route. What an amazing place this is, thanks Probsty.
Having visited the railway station I drove over here to check out what is left of the town.
Thank you for hiding this geocache Probsty

Outnabout taking a detour from work. So glad we came to see this. Thanks for placing this cache.
What a great building, and such a contrast with the modern generators and mining activity right alongside. Fantastic that the history has been preserved and is accessible by the public. The cache was a quick find with the help of the hint, otherwise I'm sure we would've DNF'd! Very clever, fav point from us.
A long overdue road trip to Kalgoorlie for work meant I could pick up a few caches on the way.
Looks like the last building standing in the way of progress here. Lots of history. Very cool.
Many thanks to Probsty for placing and maintaining Mt Morgans - Municipal Chambers. I was here at 3:59 pm on Tuesday and this is my find 8904.

On the way home from Laverton this was find #3 today. What a glorious old building this is. It would have seen sooo much in it's time. Thanks for the location and the very clever hide. I met a fellow geocacher here too. It is a small world afterall. TFTC
Digger digger, what a find, a serious nugget! A favourite of mine! Great to talk to the geologist and go back in time!
We stopped here for lunch and I spent much of the time searching for this one. Oh well we got to have a look around the Municipal Chambers. We would not have come here if it wasn't for geocaching.
I don't know I would have been able to get this one without the hint. It was tricky but a good find. TFTC
Cool hide - and in good condition. We’re driving the ‘scenic ‘ route between Laverton and Kalgoorlie, happy to stop off at this historic spot. Thanks for bringing us here!
A quick find here
Had a trip out to The historic ghost town of Gwalia planned for some time now and with the wife keen to check out some of the ghost towns and various ruins throughout the goldfields it was sure to be a great trip.
We travelled to Kalgoorlie and then upto Gwalia where we stayed at Hoover House, which is the old mine managers house for the sons of gwalia mine and offered great views of the pit.
We took a day trip out to Laverton and Leinster with a small detour to grab a few caches along the great central road. After our detours from Leonora we dropped back into Kal and down to Esperance for the last night of our trip.
A great trip away and thanks for all the caches along the journey. Thank you to the COs for their caches.

Out doing some remote caches and this is a DNF for me . GZ was bouncing around a lot . Spent a good hour looking . TFTH
Delighted to see we had reception here so downloaded the coords and after a bit of a search found the cheeky hide. Wish I read the full description to see we could have gone inside! Hard to read the GPS screen when the flies are trying to peck your eyes out. TFTC.
2TF!! Another crafty hide Miss P. TFTC and thanks for the reminder. Oorschii117 was here to witness the epic search.
There used to be a previous cache in this location (circa 2013/2014), we spent hours (possibly days) attempting to find it, unscrewing bolts, climbing the structure, lifting bricks, prodding knots in the wood. Many philosophical discussions were had in the process. At the time it was the only cache on the Mount Morgans town site (Where we all worked), it was the 'Holy Grail' for a trio relatively new to geocaching. Sadly it was never found and the cache was eventually removed. Now, thanks to Probsty, a new cache has been installed and this 'Tolkien' scale geocaching saga has finally come to an end.
