Logs
Hehe what a clever hide! Managed to sign the log on our 4th turn. Fp for creativity. TftcFind #951
**22,113**We have never been superstitious, in fact Mr Geckoh won a multisport event wearing Number 13, so we consider it rather lucky. We fell for a couple of the dummies but it was third time lucky for us! Thanks for an interesting cache page read! TFTC
After some early morning FTFs in the city some of team SEAC were keen to pick those up and then head out this way to pick up a few more caches. Might be unlucky for some but very lucky for us today! Thanks for introducing us!
Very cold and showery Sunday, decided to meet up with some of the Team SEAC gang, Keylev, HeMaLuDy, and NurseDr.Keylev made the find despite decoys and coords being off!TFTC
After an early start this morning with kids activities, as I returned home there was much chat about an impromptu caching day in Devonport. Mr HeMaLuDy stayed home to chop firewood and I jumped in with Mr and Mrs NZT and NurseDr; Keylev and Cragger were also with the crew today. Logs signed as Team SEAC or just SEAC to save space. MR NZT thought he was lucky, but it turned out not to be, it turns out Keylev was the lucky one today.
Out for another team SEAC impromptu caching adventure to clean a few up in Devonport with hemaludy nztravellers and keylev. TFTC. Logged as team SEAC to save space. Did not suck to be us. LOLs
Nice wander around Devonport, collecting smiley faces All good hereNice location, TFTC!
Found several decoys before finding two with signed logs, so we signed both of those before checking a few more, then leaving the last fewThanks GeoTrioNZ
The hint makes sense now! Great idea.It sucked to be us for a while!! Fav point secured
Very good! Found with KiwiTerm and Reebuck on a cold blustery winters day. TFTC
I found two caches with a log, signed both and 7 decoys. Made me chuckle. Tftc
I found that I had to widen my search and soon spotted something resembling a cache. Grabbing it I spotted another just a bit further away. This one is probably a dummy which was a correct guess. Thanks for placing the cache.
I can never decide whether 13 is unlucky or not. Thinking it is no different from other numbers for me really. I found a log with a lot of names so assuming this was the correct one to sign! Thanks for the added adventure GeoTrioNZ!
Only found 8 or so decoys- i was expecting 12. Missed the cache with the real log, had to go through them all again.
One of the decoys is missing its decoy note. We have noticed that a few cachers have assumed that it is the cache and offered to put a new log in instead of finding the actual cache which has still got the log in.
Today I did a12 hour hike in Devonport with lots of caches and 5 LAB.
It was very cloudy and at 5pm the sun came out. Had 3 no finds and many of the logbooks was full. Nobody will write a maintain so I am also.
Thanks a lot, was a great day.
I gave a paper in.

Found the first decoy cache, and the empty cache that the previous 3 cachers thought was the actual cache. Then found a couple more decoys before finding the cache with the log in it.
Took photo of the log to prove it does still exist.

M24: found the cache in plain sight, but no log. Had waterproof logs at home to replace it, but damn it, didnt bring them with me. Hopefully this will still count as a find. Nice and easy though. TFTC.
Too many people at the club, so gave up waiting after over 15 minutes pretending to admire the view
We are caching around Bayswater and Devonport on this windy, and occasionally wet, afternoon. We parked nearby and walked back towards GZ. Unfortunately we started at the wrong end of the structure, but once in the right place we didn't take long to find the logsheet. Thanks.
This one had us confused for quite some time .... Our gps wouldn't settle and we were searching wrong end. Once we moved a little further afield we had cache in hand.
Thanks for placing the cache GeoTrioNZ.
Find number 4588.
Log signed b&p.

I'm down in Auckland to pick up my son who's flying home for the holidays tomorrow. I took the chance to come down a day early and pick up some caches.
I had a nice wander around North Head doing the labs and then spent the rest of the day geocaching around Devonport. There were lots of good hides and beautiful views.
It was late in the day, the phone battery low but gz looked easy enough. I was lucky in that I found it in the first place I looked. Had a great laugh as I walked away and noticed why it could be unlucky for some. Had to check one and recheck the one I'd signed. Very funny, thanks

Must’ve been my lucky day since it was the first one I looked at! Took pic of log since forgot my pen. TFTC
In our family 13 is considered a lucky number We spotted the cache from afar and then spotted a dummy one after that. Had to wait for a couple to pass by before retrieving the hide. TFTC
After a gentle stroll along the Mega's Tools of the trade Adventure cache this morning, it was over to Devonport for junior cacher and Mrs stik-a-crane to do a virtual 10km walking event ....virtual, is the term given when you do the event, but not at the time the official event takes place.....to allow for social distancing, and for those whom are more medically fragile to enable them to participate in large events whilst under the Covid cloud......
Me on the other hand, have done my share of multi-sport events, and it's all about the caching.....
TFTC.

We are here in Auckland to attend the Mega, thought to explore Devonport today and also enjoy night views from the Domain. Cache is all good here. TFTC.

Was a bit worried about this one considering it has been 5 months since the last find but my worries were in vain as 9 year old had cache in hand in no time. Thank you
Well I must have been lucky, 13 didn't bother me today. My name and surname has 13 letters, but I still found the cache. Lucky or unlucky? I might never know. Thanks for the cache.
I was lucky here: there were no muggles around, and I had my hand on the cache almost straight away. The unlucky part was that I dropped my water bottle while replacing the cache, and the lid broke... but all is fine with the cache, so TFTC
*** Retrospectively logging finds now Lock-down has spoiled my plan for improving finds to become 10+ find days. ***
I recall it was fifth time lucky for me and my name was added to the proper log, nice idea for a hide here, thanks GeoTrioNZ.
When I first started working over on the North Shore, initially for 3 months, then out to 6 months, I identified this target-rich environment as being what would enable me to upgrade my finds per day from single-figure find days (there were about 20 days of 5 or more). I went out over a range of dates and physically made the find, signed the log, and noted the date on my personal note. These were reserved for finds when required, or back-dated finds if not 'required'. I'd been tracking well and improved all days desired until this week when Lock-down meant the end of finding caches and thus the 5-day on 20 Aug will be missed, as will a few others coming up, I suspect.

Enjoying our day exploring Devonport on the long weekend - thanks for the cache -not unlucky for us.
On a geocaching expedition from Nelson. Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
Found with inss on this beautiful day.
No 13 is definitely a lucky number for me.
We had a lot of fun finding this one
Thank you for the Cache

We were lucky that the driver found a park. We were unlucky we found the wrong item. We were lucky we found the right item. It took more than 13 seconds but less then 13 minutes. Signed as INSS for the party of 4 cachers from Nelson.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm not superstitious so had no problem strumping up to this one. Yes we were sucked into the dummy first but the real deal was revealed soon after. TFTC # 15,963
At first I did succeed! Quick find, description contained a very good hint, luckily I can count quite well, read hint after finding, very borderline hint, but I see what it’s saying!
Arrived at GZ and found the cache in a second but luckily I was tall. Opened the cache and it was in fact a dummy cache. This made me laugh. Quickly found the real cache. The clues and title made no sense but an easy cache. TFTC
Out today exploring the Stanley Bay area, this was my last cache in this area before heading back to the ferry port for a little more caching in the other direction. Arriving at GZ there seemed like an obvious spot to check and there was the cache. Log signed and replaced, it all seems in good condition.
Thanks for the cache time to head off back to the ferry port. #1037

13 has always been a lucky number for me.So after checking one hiding spot and coming up with nothing it was then we found ourselves taking another approach to make our find. What a lovely place to go and play Bowles my grandma would of been in her element here.
We were in Auckland New Zealand for the day on Holland America’s Amsterdam. We had a tour in the morning that took us over to Devonport. We love that town. So after the tour ended, we stayed there and walked about 10 miles around many of the neighborhoods – what beautiful houses – and collected 6 caches along the way.
Thank you to G-2 for all 6 of the caches.

On my first day in New Zealand I visited Auckland and beautiful Devonport. I first walked around downtown, than I took the ferry to Devonport and walked to Stanley Point and hiked up to Mount Victoria. The day cleared up and I had a wonderful time in Auckland. Thanks to everybody for all the great caches!

Easy if you have found one like this before. If you haven’t it could drive you round the bend! Tftc
Out and about on a caching trip around Devonport with Mrs Tuolei and Hayleyfcy - we had a great day and got lots of caches and didn't have a single DNF - what a treat! We had our geosenses going!
Accidentally clicked into Live on Cachly instead of the list we were working off and this one popped up so we got down here and quickly found the cache. Discussed a few ways to get this cache way more evil and agreed it's best I wasn't in charge of it.
Thanks for the cache - all good here.

On a drive around Stanley Point. A lot of patients and fun doing this one. Thanks
Was close by today trying for a FTF. Missed the FTF but saw we had not found this one so came for a look. Thanks GeoTrioNZ.
We only had a short time for a bit of caching today. Looked at the map thought this part of Devonport might be good for a few finds and beat the weather which we did. That was kinda fun... sort of... eventually found the right one lol. SL. TFTC.
3rd time lucky and plenty of room left in the log. Great cache. Fav point to follow!
WOW. That was unexpected. An easy park and grab was not to be found here. Great effort, brought some surprise to the evening. TFTC!
We thought this was a quick find and then realised the truth. Very clever.
A bit of trial an error soon led us to the log but we had to pause a couple of times so as not to attract the attention of passing muggles. Thanks GeoTrioNZ for a fun and unique hide.

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. It was time to search the Devonport area today.
Sorry, it is just another number.
Cheers for the cache.

Hmmm. Soon had an understand what was required here and were quickly working our way along these till we hit the jackpot pretty quickly signed and returned
Brought kiwiscot along as an assistant in locating this cache. She had fun searching it out, winning the game as to where can it possibly be. Logic failed for scottie. Someone has got frustrated along the way but is not detrimental to the find. TFTC
I used the hint and made a stab at the cache, but then backtracked and finally found the cache. TFTC.
Mr TW and I had a day out caching today trying to clean up the North Shore to the east of the motorway. Thought we might have been here a while after a couple of false starts but Mr TW put his hand on the cache fairly quickly. TFTC
The log was wet so I put in a new piece of paper. It was nice to find this after the last up in a tree did not find. Thanks for the hide.
Met up with paraonegirl and k-adventure for breakfast in Devonport and some caching. We were targeting different caches today so I split off from the others to find the few caches in the area that I hadn't yet found.
Had a fair idea where the cache was located as I parked across the road. Approached from below and quickly spotted the cache. Then I realised that it wasn't so easy. Not such a quick find, but at least I didn't exhaust all options before locating the log. Very cool concept.

We parked very close to GZ and as we walked up the hill we noticed somethings that were out of place. With two of us it wasn't long before the cache was in hand. Glad we didn't have to check all of the possibilities out here. Thanks for a fun cache!
With 2 of us looking we halved the amount of time it took to find the cache, we knew one of us would eventually find the log and that was me!
