Logs
Took the kids for a caching mission today. This one took us the longest to find, however we were eventually successful. Thank you for placing!
Today's main activity was an 11km bike ride finding this hide and one other. There were several sections of the forest were closed for logging. The photo helped us locate the hideThanks for hiding this cache 8ManAfter I appreciate it.
With no premium subscription, we managed to narrow in with no clue or moving map. Good hide. TFTC.
Popped out today and replaced both the log and the container with fresh ones. All good to go now!I placed some pine cones on a stump just in front of the tree with the cache at its base (see pic).
Found, but its *very* soggy inside, so no hope of signing whats left of the log. TFTC
Found it. Didnt try and write in log because its pretty destroyed. Container is pretty gross. Could use a swap.
Took quite a bit of stumbling around the area to find! Coordinates are appx 5-10m further south-east than need be. Found some liquid tictacs inside, bit of an odd smell! Cache was half full of water. Log is mush and cache could do with renewing. Good find though! Good quality. Tree is very much approaching maturity, as with the cycle of life. Good room for small swaps. TFTC! Kobe Kenobi, Ollie Vader, KaLeia
Could not find it super hard for the kids but there is a lot of branches on the ground
Out in the woods for a family adventure. Found this one without much trouble.Couldn't write our name as we didn't have a pen with us (Photograph attached). Tftc.
Mr12 got a new bike for Christmas so of course wanted to take it for a ride. Mr8 didn't want to bike so we took the dog for a walk. I'm sure I've had a look for this one before but due to the vague GPS under the trees I couldn't find it. Today was no better to be honest but I just happened to approach from the right direction and spot camo. All in good order. Tftc.
Despite being down for a couple years, this was the first time I'd been for a decent walk through this area, and there were a few caches to grab too...
Wandered around a few likely looking objects before finding the correect one... thanks for the placement
TFTC 8ManAfter, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 9 today, making this find #3575

3rd cache of mtb tour. Coords a bit off by 4 m today. Geo path helped with the hint. Cache is wet, blackberry is spikey!
Found after a short search here, widened our search area and about 10mtrs out east from where the coordinates took us. Difficult in the forest TFTC
We had to come over this way so why not find a couple of Caches as well..
The Log Book was a mushy mess so we've left a nice new one But only one sheet of paper, that'll do for the time being.TFTH

3rd cache found! Searched a lot. Log is quite water damaged and may need replacing. Stoked to find it eventually
This took us quite a bit of a search, as the coordinates are a bit off, and the hint item is not quite as young as it once was. By our GPSr subtract 0.002 from the south minutes and also subtract 0.002 from the east minutes. TFTC!
My first cache for 2022. Coordinates were 17 meters out but found pretty quickly anyway. Thanks for placing 8ManAfter

My youngest found it! A really cool find. Watch out for the bikers though...
Number 9052. Found on the way to one of the waypoints on the multi. Good value indeed! TFTC
Quite a few finders who don't log online it seems from the paper log in the cache. A nice way to remember a friend. I remember when lots of people my age used the expression "good value". Hardly ever hear it these days! Tftc, 8ManAfter.

Managed to convince the wee wombles that a walk in the forest would be nice today. And it was. Lots of people out and a lot of piwakawaka too. Thanks for the cache.

Out for a quiet stroll with JD and decided to grab this cache when we passed by. All in good order. Tftc.
I very much enjoy a bike ride through Bottle Lake Forest to Spencer Park (and back) when I'm holidaying down here over the Christmas period. That was the case today, with the bonus of four new caches since I rode here last. This was the last of three successful finds in the forest today. Had to check a few hint objects before locating the correct one. #2927. TFTC.
Out for a Sunday morning stroll with the boys.
This took lot longer to find than it should have but got there eventually tftc

The teens were keen to have a break from exam stresses so we headed over to Bottle Lake. While they were riding the trails, I went for a walk to find this cache. It was a quick find. TFTC.
Terrain not so bad as rating suggests. The GPS was out by more than 10m. Easy find.
Went for a very short walk to find this. Was a bit tricky to find but at the end we could sign the log. Cache in good condition. TFTC

Did a detour on the way from work, got a little lost in the forest.
Like, really, I took one of the walking tracks, which was a mistake as it was really really sandy and I was cycling. Not on a mountainbike, either. Anyway, wasn't far to the cache. So, from it, I decided I will be better off on the cycling track, it was quite fun actually, but much more windier than I anticipated. After all the twists and turns, and hills and valleys, I came out on Bravo Rd and was like, sweet, this will take me out to Parklands. But it did not.
Turned out I had taken it to the complete opposite direction than I thought I was going to. Instead of aiming for Port Hills, I was aiming for Kaikoura Ranges!
Anyway, in-between all that I also managed to find the cache!
TFTC!

Nice hide, lovely series doing you mate justice. this was a quick find. Forgot pen so have photolog if required
Looked and looked maybe GPS was all over the show, checked alot of young ones
This cache really was good value - we found $2 on the detour up the horse track to find the beastie! Not too long to find and sign this one. The track nearby was busy-ish so take care folks. Thanks for the stop.
That took much longer than it should have but got it in the end All safe and dry here TFTC
Pleasant Tuesday evening walk through BLFP. A little checking around but the cache was in hand soo enough. Thanks for the hide.
A quick and easy find. Nearly back to the car, and time to pick up Ms_KR. Cheers
We are on an extented Waitangi Weekend cruising around the Coast. Today we drove through to Hanmer Springs, via the Upper Buller gorge. Weather is more overcast today, but still great for touring and caching.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Should have read the logs. Spent some time looking in the wrong direction spread our search and soon found it. TFTC
Nice easy find on a hot lunchtime walk in the forest. A great way to remember your friend. I was going to look for another one nearby but there was too much blackberry so moved on to this one. TFTH
Found after an expanding search.. GPS put us at 10m from the given coord. TFTC. #648
Enjoyed the afternoon. We rode the roads to keep off the busy tracks and a little negotiation was needed to find GZ. A little junction and a walking trail;-- so much safer. Sooo many hint items, but found after a few minutes and a tiny widening of the area. Thanks.
Oooo new caches. After the morning rain stopped I managed without too much effort to get the boys interested in a bike ride (yes; you CAN get muddy)....loaded up and parked up at BottleLake. Headed to this GZ via internal roads and a short track (I think we followed it the wrong way! oops - lucky not many about this morning!)......a short expanding search soon netted the cache. Cheers!
I dragged a friend and her mum along for an after work walk. Great times, and my friend located the cache - I'll keep her on! TFTC!!
I had noticed that there had been a couple of new caches published this morning but as it was raining and I had an appointment to keep in the city I refrained from rushing out and getting wet. At just before 2pm, with the showers now gone I decided that my afternoon's activity would be a bike ride. Where to ride? Why not vist Bottlelake Forest and gather in those latest 2 "I Miss Ken" caches? A quick check revealed that no FTF's had yet been logged on either cache !!! What? Surely the rain hadn't kept the usual FTF gatherers away? Maybe I could gather in a, rare for me, FTF? That would be way cool.
So, I quickly loaded my MTB and headed out to Spenser Park. I was soon cycling a familiar trail in the forest. After missing out on FTF's at the latest 2 "I Miss Ken" caches I continued my ride around my usual MTB circuit in Bottlelake. This brought me to this cache (published yesterday). After wandering aound a bit and finding not finding anything slighly unusual it dawned on me that I should see if any hint was given. Doh! [B)] Why hadn't I done that earlier? The log revealed that I had been beaten by the same cacher that had beaten me to the 2 previous caches. Still, that is another 2nd TF in the bag. Thanks for the cache 8ManAfter.

I saw this cache published and so close to home but I had visitors and had to wait for them to leave. I was pleasantly surprised to find the log still empty a couple of hours later, {FTF} at 1901. Tftc!
