Logs
Staying at Waterfront cp for 2 nights. Weve always driven straight through TB without stopping on way to Victoria. Nice to have a look around & grab a few caches & ALs. Tftc
Being world scout day and remembering the 2019 Jamboree at Tailem Bend we thought while in the area revisit the log with Lonely RA
Attended and signed log with MoSSau being Workd Scout Day, taking Poppys Legacy on a memorial tour
We visit Swan Hill, Mildura, Renmark, Barossa Valley, Victor Harbour, Tailem Bend and the last night at Ballarat. Stopped for few caches on the way. We had a lot of fun travelling these roads and seeing the farms and wildlife along the way. We found a range of caches. Many thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state WA. Spending a few days in Murray Bridge to cache the surrounds. Loving the scenery that we pass as we move through the caches - this is our preferred caching - not suburbs. Thanks for the find
After spending the day timing at The Bend race track and having an hour or so to fill in before dinner, decided to hunt a couplee of nearby caches and this one, being "inside" the facility was very close. Parked right next to GZ (and talk about a lonely hiding spot, the only place it could be!) and had the cache in hand quickly. Reading the description about how this was the site of a previous jamboree brought back memories for me, having attended number 11 in Dandenong on a cub day trip, then attending number 12 in Perth as a scout - they were certainly great things to attend as a kid, I had an absolute ball the whole event! Thanks to Geckoj for the cache.
TFTC the cache itself has seen better days and is certainly not waterproof any more. We replaced the bag the log it in to help keep it dry. In need of some TLC
We stayed in the nearby motel both on our way to Adelaide for the Great Leap Forward event and on our way home. I had to find this as we were staying so close. It was our first find on our long trip home to Phillip Island. I imagine this vicinity would have been a good place for a jamboree. I went to one in the 60s while I was in Girl Guides, to visit my brother who was in Scouts at the time.
#19313 - 10:46:00 AM; Day five of "The Great Leap Forward" road trip and it is time to head for home after a successful mission to South Australia. The day started with an event, where I delivered feathertop, who had accompanied me from Kaniva a couple of days ago, into the custody of GemmaSistema for the trip home. After the event, I headed north into Salisbury and on to Tea Tree Gully collecting a couple of caches in each as I passed through, then I set sail for Tailem Bend and on to KingstonSE, Robe, Millicent and Mt Gambier collecting some more caches, including this one. I then crossed into Victoria collecting caches in Dartmoor, Heywood and Tyrendarra before heading on to Port Fairy for tea and Warnambool to spend the night. All up I added eight more LGAs to the collection today! All caches were found in good order and where appropriate, were returned as found once the log was signed. Apologies for the largely generic logs TFTC GeckoJ
Find 4657 on February 28, 2024Day#2 on Fergzters roadtrip to the Great Leap Forward Mega Event in Adelaide. Today's stretch was from Taylor's lake near Horsham towards Adelaide. Nice quick find. Took one tb. All is well with the cache. TFTC GeckoJ
TFTC. We visited this cache after the nearby event with our muggle sister to show her how its done!Setting up camp for a week in Murray Bridge before the MEGA for 29th Feb!Moving to Ballarat for another week afterwards. Last hurrah travelling before wooding season at home starts!Happy caching and safe travels!
SL at 4:22pm. Bdiaw, MuggleMasterKid9 and myself travelled to Adelaide on the 21st for an appointment at the Women's and Children's Hospital. Today we leave Adelaide and caching on the way home it is. A quick pitstop here and bdiaw made the find. I am a queen scout so this cache brings back many good memories for me.*Cache does have a hole in it but contents are dry.*Signed log as FWD and MMK9.*TFTC GeckoJ and the challenge!
Tftc; found on a weekend roadtrip to Murray Bridge and back with lilbassgirl. Logging all caches day after end of trip; individual logs done by lilbassgirl previously with me driving between caches, sights, accomodation and the show we went to.
Tftc, found with fourtwelve on our roadtrip back home after visiting Murray Bridge. #3 for today
Zip lock bag that had log in has been replaced. (Was looking a bit worse for wear.) Actual cache- looks a bit broken, but ok for the time being. (Hence why we changed the zip lock bag just in case)
Have driven past this turn off a multitude of times but decided today i needed to alter the map. Certainly a suspicious SPOR. Happy to find the cache though. TFTC GeckoJ, JayG10 and fluffymaxi.
All good. I didn't have a suitable replacement container either

Found quickly but the bottom of the cache has been chewed a feast for some animals so you may need to replace sorry had nothing in hand but it’s protected. Still

Suscoe and Phetlern were heading to Murray Bridge today.
It was a lovely sunny August day, a cool start but then it warmed up to the low 20's.
We found a good range of caches and enjoyed our trip heading north west up the highway.
Thanks to Geckoj, JayG10 and fluffymaxi

Easy find. Interesting container, starting to get holes, so might need reinforcing or replacing soon.
Getting a few more caches on the wandering heroes trail and others on the way. Staying at Tailem Bend for a few nights to. clean up the area abit
Us two scout leaders from Mackay Qld on holidays. Has to call in here.
Found TFTC SL with mackay_geocaching. On Holidays from Mackay Qld and travelling the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Adelaide and making stops along the way. Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Found with alphag_25, moving into Adelaide today and caching along our way. As I was at AJ2019 as a leader, I figured I had to stop here, without planning it, I was even wearing my Qld AJ2019 shirt. Great use of the souvenir from AJ. Just as dusty as when we were here last time and not much appears to have changed. TFTC and the memories.
I can now add to the log. This might have started off as a Regular sized cache, but somewhere in time it's been changed to a Small sized container with a narrow mouth that I couldn't fit an interesting TB in.
Murray Bridge to Tailem Bend for an overnight stay.
After setting up in the spots ground we commenced with the Happy Armpit series & then continued on to find a few new Wandering Heroes.
In the afternoon we did the AL & a few of the local caches.
Hubby was really happy that we visited the motor racing precint.
We found some great caches & interesting locations during the day.

Fun find filled with lots of fun little things also there is no paper to write your name on
Found it at a glance! Lots of Scout swaps inside. Took nothing. Log book is missing
Very poorly hidden and I found it at a glance. For some reason didn't have a pen. I would recommend using a different cover up material.
Out for a day with Freddo. He needed a short stop so I went for a walk and found this one.
Nice easy find.

Over visiting family from Geelong, and we decided to knock a few of the local caches off!
Geokids and I came out to this one first, being one of the closer ones to Grandmas house. Last time we were here we went and checked out the Bend Motorsport park and today we can hear the drivers!

All great adventures must come to an end! After five days of intense caching and socialising in the Murraylands, with geo-friends from Victoria, NSW and SA it is time to head back east, with the compulsory stops, to stretch and find a cache or two of course.
Satellites today had our GZ 10 metres SW of where we found the cache.
Thanks GeckoJ for placing caches in such interesting locations.

Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 21. After three weeks in Adelaide and South Australia, the time has come to head home. I went via the Mallee highway for the first time in a few trips and was happily impressed by the caches that have popped up. After Lammeroo and Pinneroo was Ouyen, Piangle, Toolybuc Balranald and then onto Hay for the night. A warm day in the outback with a few fun caches done.
I have not been in this facility before. I must say it is a lot bigger than I expected, and I did not even get up to the track, which was in use today.
Thanks for the cache GeckoJ

I must have been late to find this as there was very little Scouting Theme trades
I have added 1 of each of my AJ2019 badges I was reading at AJ2019 for a lucky scout(s) to find and enjoy geocaching (badges added as a picture here too)
Just a heads up too the logbook is nearly full
Thanks GeckoJ for the cache and the memory

Out and about around Tailem Bend and we grabbed this one.
Many thanks for the cache GeckoJ

Nice easy find. Dropped a trackable after it being on the road with us for 6 weeks around Aus.
Up here for the first 2021 Pedal Prix race and decided to see what was in the area. Loved this one, was an easy find. Thanks for the cache!
After driving DPA down to, but not around, The Bend I set about finding what I could find in the surrounding area. Firstly it was off to Sherlock to finish off, again, The Great Detective series. Then north to Karoonda for the AdLab there and all Karoonda physical caches. Then down to Tailem Bend to fill in time until DPA needed picking up. Ended the day with the AdLab, 32 physical caches and no DNF's.
Thanks to GeckoJ for putting out this cache for me to find

About to head home after a fun few days wandering with the heroes and meeting a lot of geo-pets!
A nice little hide. A drink for the road
A nice little hide. A drink for the road
The hiding spot was a little hard to pick at first, but air think we got there in the end.
Geo-Kitten #2 attended AJ2019 so this was a must get. We had a quick look at the dust bowl that was the Jambo site.. and rolled up the the cache. OhNo! it's been muggled we thought.. but no. that was just an abandoned supermarket salad bowl.. weird. The real cache was quickly found, logged and a photo sent to the Scout back home. thanks team!
Catching up with late logs.
We had a fantastic time caching in Murray Bridge today with Goodlook but all good things have to come to an end and now we are heading home again picking up caches as we go.
Our son was a scout and has very fond memories of the Jamboree that he attended many years ago. It's great to see that the movement is still going strong enabling young people a chance to have a great experience. The cache was a nice easy find and our name has now been added to the log.
Thanks guys for setting this one up for us to find.

After completing the Geopets trail decided to pick up some others in the area.
This trail was on our list after Sherlock and before heading back to Tailem Bend for the Canberrans visiting CITO.
Been great staying in Tailem Bend. The weather is awesome.
On a road trip to South Australia now the border is open with Kittykatch, and barb2e calling ourselves Border Busters or BB. Fifth day of our trip and loving the beautiful green fields and cool day. Awesome day to be out.
