A plan was hatched between myself, the Seagnoid, YetiNZ and TwigNZ to convene in Nelson to attempt to get a first to find on puzzle we had solved at our recent puzzle evening. 'The boys' are flying from Wellington on Sunday, while I drove up from Christchurch on Saturday. Unfortunately I received the notification while driving through the Lewis Pass that the FTF had been claimed, but hey, a day caching in Nelson still sounds fab. Thanks for the cache.[ThatDarnBear](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=ThatDarnBear) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC82FZ4/39541 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.
A last minute Sunday jaunt to Nelson for the day was originally planned around a hopeful first to find of a recently published puzzle cache. Sadly, it was a gamble that did not pay off. However the four of us that made the the trip all had plenty of unfound geocaches in the area and so the day was spent driving around and collecting key geocaches for various needs and / or wants, or sometimes just because they were there and so were we. Special thanks go to That Darn Bear for being our personal shuttle service for the day, and putting up with the rest of us behaving like the backseat driving Geocaching children that we are.Having already established that everyone in the group qualified for this Challenge, it made sense to come and find this one.[YetiNZ](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=YetiNZ) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC82FZ4/39541 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.All logs were signed with the team name of MYST, to represent myself (YetiNZ), the Seagnoid, That Darn Bear, and Twig NZ.---Thanks to paddle chick for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
Today I was spending my day in Nelson with YetiNZ, ThatDarnBear and the Seagnoid on a impromptu geo-trip. We had hoped to get a FTF on a solved puzzle but there were many other reasons for being here, not least of which is that it is such a wonderful part of our nation to visit and explore and I always enjoy coming here.As is usual for us in these circumstances, we attempted to come up with a team name for the day. Typically it's a play on caching initials, and occasionally we struggle due to a lack of vowels! But we had a Y, so we decided to be team MYST for the day even though we didn't have an M. I guess we just liked the name, but in any case MYST were Myself, YetiNZ, the Seagnoid and ThatDarnBear.I do like Challenge Caches, although I have to admit that I prefer the older ones where the criteria for the challenge wasn't as restrictive as it is now. But I will still come and look for them whatever they may be, which is why we stopped by here today. There was a house bus parked near GZ, but no-one was home so it wasn't an issue to search for the cache which I found quickly. No issues to report here, and we were back on our way to the next one Thanks for setting this challenge cache up.[TwigNZ](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=TwigNZ) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC82FZ4/39541 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Congratulations! We are on a trip in New Zealand. A wonderful country with a lot of (old )caches. There are too many caches so we limit ourselves to the (old) gems or where we happen to make a stop. We found and signed this cache in good condition. Actually tomorrow when we are in wellington I have to find 1 cache to fullfill my second jasmer Congratulations! Visiting from the state of Washington in the United States. We flew into Wellington. After the Te Papa museum and finding the oldest cache in New Zealand, we took the ferry to Picton. We went out to Lochmara Lodge for a day and then drove through Havelock to Nelson. We had a fun event with local geocachers in Nelson, then yesterday decided to take the water taxi from Marahou to Anchorage Bay to hike the trails including out to Pitt Head. We had lunch at Pitt Head Lookout. We had a great fun finding caches along the way. Ended up with 4 finds and only one DNF.Today I was out in Richmond and Nelson looking for some challenges and traditionals as well as my first letterbox in New Zealand. It was a fun morning. Now on to qualifying for the challenge.
Nelson to Picton today as we are soon heading over to the North Island. As we had some time in our hands we decided to pick up a few more of those puzzles that we had looked at and solved months ago in preparation for our trip here. This was a challenge that we qualified for and so we headed over to GZ - there we searched for some time finding nothing, then Viv spotted a possible place though nothing could be seen but we had a tool that would possibly help - it did and the cache was retrieved - evidently pushed in too far as there is a retrieval aid on the cache which we did not see. All signed and replacedTFTCTim and Viv - ddm

Day 2 of caching adventure to the wildfoods festival. Today is Nelson to Hoki. Travelling with Mr McGoo and Justlooking00. After massive ferry cancellations, we have not been sure this trip was going to happen, so we are making the most of it.
This was on the list for this morning as we all qualify. Wandered over to GZ early on a Fri morning and all was quiet. Thanks to the hint, cache was easily spotted. Quals from Project-GC below -

I'm claiming this one. This is the forth of maybe the fifth visit. After meeting the CO at a random cache in another part of a country I knew exactly where it was. But the occupied car right beside the hide meant I walked past. And it was about the only vehicle here!
#11,129. I have been in Nelson for the past 2 days. Today we are driving to Christchurch via Lewis Pass. We stopped here on the way to do this challenge cache. Parked nearby and headed over to GZ. I misread the hint so searched in the wrong spot initially. Had another look and oops there it is. Signed the log book and replaced the cache where found. Thanks paddle chick for the cache. I have only Aug 2000 and June 2022 as months needed to find. Otherwise the Jasmer is complete.

Thought I might have to do a bit of work to get myself ready to log this one but lo and behold I’m good to go! Love these challenge caches; they get me caching differently! TFTC!
Today was another day for a buzz over the hill (as I had done earlier in the week) on bumblebee to collect some of the 1/2 century of puzzles I solved over the 2021 lockdown. I had an ambitious list of 26 compiled earlier but only got to 10 of them. Today I got another 4. This was the third. It took me several attempts to get to GZ as my map suggested there were streets to get here but they were only just accessways. All good when I did get here, and located as per the hint.

I have found caches placed in 261 months, the only month I am missing is 9/2021 - I must rectify that !
I finished JASMER grid in 6/2019 with Match Stash GC4D (Sweden) which was placed in 8/2000, one of only 4 caches still live from that month (the other 3 are in the USA). Great memories !

Today was the day for signing off a few of my solved puzzles in the Appleby/Richmond area.
I couldn't find this one so I went for a coffee with the CO and she confirmed that I had looked in the right place. I then went back and checked that it hadn't been pushed further in and it hadn't. I then replaced it for her.
Cheers for the cache.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route to Golden Bay, via some ad labs, puzzles and other targeted caches.
Luckily I had spotted last night that this cache had been replaced, and as we were pretty much driving past, this was on the list. Boy, is it hard making a right turn into Lower Queen St during peak morning traffic - cars are backed up quite a bit and not many can turn on the right turning arrow. Got there in the end and drove pretty much to GZ.
Have found 248 placed months, see screen shot. Thanks for the challenge and TFTC.

Nosynel, Graciesgpsfun, Ethness and I are caching the top of the south. Today we are looking for a few challenges we qualify for. Couldn't find this today even with a previous finder.
Another DNF by us today. There does not appear to be many places this could be and the obvious place does not contain a cache.
As expected we had a DNF here today. Coul only find one thing within cooee of GZ that the hint applied to and it wasn't there. Gutted actually, but not a biggy as it is not as though it is an out of the way place and we will be easily able to get it on a future visit when the CO replaces it. Having 209 Hidden months means I easily qualify for it and so does NZDi with 201. I'm sure I've seen a 200 month challenge somewhere in the Nelson area...

Qualified a long time back. Decided to park up here and go for a short stroll to get those last few caches I have not got here before while biking this path. All good here. TFTC paddle chick.
A short trip for some local caches while RG1972 went out for a run. So I drove around for an hour or so and got some nice caches including a former DNF. Thanks all.

After finding the 150 and 200m months and staying so close to this one, it would have been rude to not come and search for it. And search I did! Could not see in the logical place, GPS was all over the show, and it even got dark. Then I managed to find a tool and retrieve the cache from where I originally looked - it was pushed right into the middle! TFTC!!
Had walked down the trail to the Appleby bridge and found caches along the way (had excluded mystery caches as we were low on time). Got back to the house we were staying at and happened to look at the map and this cache. A quick check on Challenge Check (204 placed months) and then back down to add this to our collection. Kia ora for the cache.
Stopped off here to get this one tagged on our way past. Cheers

Its Sunday and another early start on the road, picking up The Seagnoid and heading to Nelson/Motueka for the day. Had great fun with Mission Impossible. Walked oput to the islands at low tide on the way to MOT. And managed to snag a couple of LABs along the way. Another great day out and about.

I remember when the CO asked me to make the challenge checkers for this cache, so when testing naturally I tested it on myself, although I knew that I qualified. I had found the 150 months and was a little surprised to find the other two were not in the same vicinity, so I made a special point of locating them for future trips.

Oh! I forgot! I had another mission! To collect a cache hidden in April 2020. Looks like I have already done that. Nice!
Came to Nelson yet again, with Taybeedragon in tow and two objectives in mind. One to place my last Nelson Rail cache - Nelson station itself, hoping the reviewer would get back to me with an okay, and to do a bunch of lab caches.Well, the reviewer only gave me half an answer so I could not place the railway cache, although I got the full answer Sunday night with an okay, so I'll be back next weekend. And not only did we get four sets of lab caches, but another got released and we managed the to be first there. And even better, the tide was out, so we grabbed a couple of island caches as well!

We are about to move into level 2 and caching will be allowed from midnight tonight so I'm reactivating my caches. Happy and safe caching
New Zealand is under Level 4 lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I am disabling all my caches for the meantime to remind people that we MUST break the chain of infection.
Covid-19 is now being spread within the community, person to person. We know that the virus will remain on surfaces like metal and plastic for up to 4 days.
We have only one chance to stop the Covid-19 virus spreading further. This is to BREAK the chain of infection by keeping each household separated completely. During this time each of us MUST keep isolated and only share with the people in our own household.
The best advice is to act as though you are infected... which you might be.
If you touch a cache container, you will leave viruses on the plastic, logbook and pen. Those will remain infectious for up to 4 days. Suppose some other person finds the cache tomorrow. They are likely to pick up those viruses and will get infected.
Playground equipment is out of bounds for exactly that reason- touching surfaces can spread infection.
Each of us has to do our bit to save lives. If the Covid-19 virus spreads, a lot of us will die. Maybe your grandmother, or my 9 year old neice who has who has an autoimmune disease
Stay home, stay safe, let's get to the other side of the pandemic before we go geocaching again.

Down from Auckland for the day with Gorby and boneybruce and making our way from Nelson across to Picton, then down to Blenheim and back to Nelson. Probably the last chance for any travel for a while so taking the opportunity for Bruce and I to pick up the last 4 TMGT caches to finish off the geotour.
We had been over to Picton and Blenheim and completed the geotour for myself and bruce, and come back to Nelsont o get our flight, but we just missed out on getting on that one - so what to do when you're stuck for an extra hour? head out and find a couple more caches, that's what... in the rain. Nice find here after missing it on the first pass. I should think I qualify here as I have reached triple jasmer (at least 3 cache finds from every month since May 2000) - see pic. And it has been one heck of a journey so far - many many truly amazing and unforgettable adventures!

We came by this cache today, me and FMZ. FMZ wanted to fly down from Auckland just for the day and pick up the last of the TM Geotour caches and I decided to tag along for the ride and the fun. We started in Nelson and drove to Picton, Blenheim then back to Nelson for the day, then flew back home.
It's raining, we're here in the 'Blue Devil' our fast little rental. It's our last cache before flying back to Auckland in about an hour. it's been a short visit to Nelson and beyond but we have loved it, mission completed for FMZ and I have a few more challenges under my belt AND we got an FTF while down this way, that can't be bad!!
We missed the cache on the first pass and got endlessly wet for our efforts but FMZ soon spotted what we missed and we took the cache back to the car to sign before I ran back to replace it.
Now off to the airport, cheers paddle chick.

100 hides that's definitely with celebrating. Congrats on your milestone. I'll have to pay more attention to my emails in future as I had ignored this new cache notification when I saw it was a puzzle and yet we were walking within a few hundred metres of i it at the time. An FTF opportunity missed. Pretty sure they will revoke my licence if I do that again. But today I was biking past gz with my Dad so made sure to stop and sign the log. Thanks paddle chick for the cache.

It was rather busy along here today but at the particular time I wandered along for this one the coast was clear. How lucky is that! According to Project Geocaching I have found caches for 205 of the possible 227 hidden months. I'm hoping to eventually plug some more of the gaps but I don't see myself ever getting all of them. Thanks for the challenge and for the cache.
