This morning we decided to try for a couple of unfounded caches very close to home. We qualified for a nearby challenge cache but got a DNF over there. We came by and picked this one up.
Forgot my pen so couldn't sign the log but found the cache nice and easy. Love the colour. TFTC
Day one riding the Great Taste Trail from Nelson to Wakefield. A nice quick stop here to find the cache and we were back on our bikes. TFTC
Thank you. An easy cache just where it aught! Signed and returned in good order.TFTC
Nice find. This one took us a couple of visits, we got it second time and it was easier than we’d thought! Tftc
Found tonight in the dark, thought of the obvious place but was found visible on the ground not sure if that is meant to be.

Ouch.....1st of the day and so far we are 100% fail. Had a good look then another on our way home, still no find. Maybe another day.
Managed to get my cache fix with this one. Glad I did, as I had to give up on an earlier of Sidewaze’s ones at the showgrounds. Its all about trying to keep our streak alive, plus I reach another milestone with this cache. Bonus TFTC & the yellow smiley
This one has been on my list for a while, but being time poor its taken a while. Found the GZ but needed some community maintenance and completed formalities. Thanks paddle cheick for the cache.
Quick easy find button for only1 or maybe 2 more signs. Might be time to update logbook. TFTC
While I'm over this wet weather I needed a cache find for another foursie day, so put on my wet weather gear and biked to Richmond for this one. My phone doesn't seem to like the wet and for a while I was going up and down the fence line while it made up its mind to work properly. Finally settled and a quick find resulted. Hardly any room left on this log sheetbut found a gap at the top for a wet weather scrawl. TFTC paddle chick
On a cache mission by bike this morning with a wee person on the front. Our first cache of the day. TFTC.
Found. Been here before. This time I had contacted co who gave me pointers.
GPS is spoton.
Hint is not what it is saying.

A wander around Richmond for some exercise, had to delay the retrieve as there were a couple of cycles casually cycling by but a quick find and all in good order. Thanks paddle chick for the cache.
Out for a bike ride to Brightwater today with muggle hubby. Picked the caches along the way and had an enjoyable coffee. Tail wind on the way back to Richmond.

Found with NZDi. Our grandson is having his first birthday later in the month and NZDi couldn't find what she wanted back home in Blenheim so we decided to come across the hill to see what nelson had to offer... not a lot more than Blenheim actually. Later in the morning we checked out one of the local caravan retailers for a possible future upgrade of our mobile geocaching base, then had lunch. This afternoon we grabbed a quick selection of caches along a section of the Great Taste Trail on our MTBs which we brought across the hill with us.
Pretty much all of our logs were signed KM & ND to conserve space. This was our first find of the day, not by intention but because the 100 Placed Months Challenge which we were really targeting had a muggle car parked two metres away with live muggles hanging around.
Parking at the end of a very pot-holed road, we only had a 70-odd metre walk to GZ and made a QEF SWaG (Short Walk and Grab). The find disillusioned us for our hopeful find on the challenge cache just back down the road, as it had the same hint and had a previous DNF. With something as easy as this, I don't think the DNF was because it was too tricky.

Found at 26 January 2021 8:46 pm on a short holiday to Marlborough-Nelson-Tasman, logging my finds as I go (where possible). Will expand when I get home. TFTC
On a 3 week geocaching trip with woolwood9.
*Very nice find for us here.*
SL **tm/ww NZ**, but may appear as a black smudge on the many wet logs or plastic log strips.
*Thanks for the reason to visit this location and for the cache!*
Another day of rain.

Another quick find here. All quiet today, no problems. TFTC paddle chick.
A short trip for some local caches while RG1972 went out for a run. So I drove around for an hour or so and got some nice caches including a former DNF. Thanks all.

Went for a walk down the trail, and this was the first we found. Kia ora for the cache.
Found on a stroll back from the antiques shop. Easy find. Thanks for placing the cache
Couldn't find this the first time I came - today it was instantly as it was buried under an obvious looking pile of stones. But that's probably not how it was meant to be, signed and replaced at a more likely spot. But it doesn't go as deep as I thought, so the black 'end' is out quite a bit.
We are about to move into level 2 and caching will be allowed from midnight tonight so I'm reactivating my caches. Happy and safe caching
New Zealand is under Level 4 lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I am disabling all my caches for the meantime to remind people that we MUST break the chain of infection.
Covid-19 is now being spread within the community, person to person. We know that the virus will remain on surfaces like metal and plastic for up to 4 days.
We have only one chance to stop the Covid-19 virus spreading further. This is to BREAK the chain of infection by keeping each household separated completely. During this time each of us MUST keep isolated and only share with the people in our own household.
The best advice is to act as though you are infected... which you might be.
If you touch a cache container, you will leave viruses on the plastic, logbook and pen. Those will remain infectious for up to 4 days. Suppose some other person finds the cache tomorrow. They are likely to pick up those viruses and will get infected.
Playground equipment is out of bounds for exactly that reason- touching surfaces can spread infection.
Each of us has to do our bit to save lives. If the Covid-19 virus spreads, a lot of us will die. Maybe your grandmother, or my 9 year old neice who has who has an autoimmune disease
Stay home, stay safe, let's get to the other side of the pandemic before we go geocaching again.

I found this on the ground as I approached GZ. It's in good condition and so I hid it in the place that fitted the hint. Thanks paddle chick.
Found on a leap year day! Yesterday my mom would have turned 84. TFTC. Later today going to meet new friends.
Day 26, a quick find this time, had a look at the big picture. Thanks for the cache
Family holiday time...loaded up with bicycles to find some fun tracks. A couple nights Kaikoura, a couple in Blenheim & then finally a couple nights in Richmond.
After a couple nights in Kaikoura & Blenheim it's now time to head for Richmond/Nelson & a couple nights there to say 'Hi' to the extended family.
Time to head back home to Christchurch today. MrsTG up early for a bit of a run before the long drive home.....she ran by here for the find and sign. Cheers.

Horray. Found the geocache this time after missing it last search. I looked high & low & a bit lower before finding the hiding spot. I am very glad that the cache is not in the flax as the flax are all completely flattened & squashed! Find #544
Nearly missed on this one but decided on another look and a bit of a think - We decided where else to try and Stretch0 came up with the goods We had the area all to ourselves - no one out in the rainy conditions or they might all have been at work !!!! thanks for the log
Last dot day for the month and as we had to be in Richmond today we grabbed one well away from home. Weather put pay to any ideas of a walk so it was lets grab between the rain!!. As we zeroed in had a fair idea where to look but on first approach we failed to locate! A quick study from further off and we moved back in for another look but this time we made the find . We were on the right track the first time but didn't observe properly . Ended up with completing the dot day and left smiling. TFTC
didn't make the find today. It sounds like this is a hard cache to find so will be back.
I didn't find it the first time, but after wandering along to the Challenge cache and finding that one I had a much better idea of where to look. TFTC
This week we have been reducing the growing number of unfound caches which had been building up in an effort to unlock the vault and return the stolen jewels in the Mystery at the Museum Challenge. We achieved that by attending the nearby Event today celebrating a remarkable achievement and since this cache was close by we made a beeline for it afterwards.
Thank you paddle chick.
Thank you paddle chick.
It was only a hop and a skip from the event organised by gkmlb to celebrate their 1111 caching streak. That also meant for us solving the "Mystery at the Museum" challenge. A sneaky hide here. Thank you paddle chick
After the Heritage Trail and lunch we wandered over here to snag and tag this one. Cheers
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geotrip to Nelson. We are on the hunt for points for the Carnival season so targeting the best caches Nelson has to offer. Zara is keeping the neighbours company while we zip around with Toby.

I don't get this Great Taste Trail. The obvious answer is vinyards, but the trail passes almost no vinyards (and anyway, Nelson has almost no vinyards anyway). No food places, nothing. I don't get it.
The cache Taybeedragon and I did get though.
With the latest Groundspeak promotion, Cache Carnival, I loaded my GPS with a pocket query containing all caches with 10 favourites or more between Nelson and Motueka. Over 1000 carnival points, should be enough to get me to 500 and the Grand Poobah souvenir; Rio de Janeiro. Except that I forgot the other aspect of the game, and I started this trip with 350 points, achieved while sitting on my arse, doing nothing. Taybeedragon has bet that I can get to 500 without finding a single cache, simply due to others placing favourites on my caches.
So anyway here we are, Taybeedragon and I, targeting better-than-average caches.
Took only 8 cache finds to get to 500 points. Yet to see if I could have done it with no finds at all...

I wasn't sure if Saturday was the best day of the week to be looking for caches beside the cycle track and sure enough there were lots of people about, interestingly lots more walkers than cyclists, but I managed to fit the find and the cache return in when no eyes were looking in my direction. TFTC .
Dog needed a walk so off around Jubilee Park (and to find some caches also of course). Able to quickly track this one down in between cyclists. Thanks for the cache.
A quick walk across the park to find this nicely hidden little cache. A couple of dog walkers in the distance didn't get close before I was moving on.
Thanks!
Thanks!
On a big drive with Mr Marchwood. My projections a bit off here, but hide quickly found. Very good.

Cricket practice was on as I crossed the field but they were well out of sight of here. At first I couldn't see what I was expecting to see. Cunning wee hide thanks paddle chick. TFTC # 13,461
I've been leaving this one for a bike ride, expecting to go to HQ for a Chai some time with Ms M. Today I needed to head to Hope to do some cache maintenance so it seemed like a nice afternoon for a ride.
The hide had me going for a while. Eventually I found the right spot.

Mrs SoBad has cycled past this a few times but with mainly non cachers so has not stopped. Today she was looking for presents in Richmond and came to this area first. She first looked a bit high and then found the cache at a lower level.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I’m sure there’ll be times of the week when finding this cache will be more troublesome. Thankfully all was clear north and south for a quick find.

over from melbourne visiting jays folks and grabbing the odd cache on our travels. tftc.
We have started evacuating some of our more precious belongings, so after waiting for nearly half an hour at the cordon in Wakefield we headed to 'the other side' and delivered our load of precious belongings. Had a chat and a cuppa then decided we would go and find a cache before heading back through the cordon towards home.
As we approached GZ I spotted the cache lying on the ground, we signed the log and then tried to decide where it might have been. We put it somewhere that fitted with the hint and put a bit of geocachers camo in front of it. I will message the CO to say were we have put it incase we did not put it in the correct place.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Needed to get some caches today. Bit of drizzle today which hopefully will help the fire fighters
Out for a little bike ride this morning. With no mugged in site quick grab sign and back before the next ones come along. Thanks for the cache paddle chick
Braved the wind and the heat this morning to collect a few close caches. This was out in the open so after signing, tucked it back where it was obvious it should be and put a bit of catchers camouflage in front of it. Thanks for the cache.
Saw this cache nearby and decided to make a trip over. Great cache and well hidden. TFTC!
After hurting my back a few days ago, I am starting to get a little bit of mobility back and thought this might be a nice one to stretch my legs with. Parked up at the YMCA and walked in a head wind towards the GZ. Thought there might be someone close by but when I reached the vehicle, it was empty. Had a look at a couple of obvious places then while checking the logs again, I happened to glace in the correct place and saw it. Ok, now to retrieve it without putting undue pressure on my back. Managed to grab it and took a seat out of the wind to sign the log. Replaced as found then had a tailwind pushing me back to the car. tftc
A short detour on my way to the shops this morning. Took me longer than it should have done to find the cache but in the end I finally looked in the right direction and spotted something of interest. TFTC, Biggles.
