With an event at Cascade Falls, TikvaNZ and myself had an early departure from Canberra to attend. A few caches along the way, and of course, a few more around the area and on the way home. A lovely event to catch up with those there, then the very enjoyable walk to the falls. A beautiful area, I need to come this way more often. Thanks for your cache!
I hate Blackberry bushes and geocaches being in the same location, you inevitably end up getting caught up on the thorns somewhere and this was no exception to the rule. After returning to the car to wipe the blood from my brow I realised that I had misplaced the log so replaced it with a new one (see pic)Oh well, still very happy that we found it.Thank you so much widge76 for hiding and maintaining this geocache for us all to enjoy
Have searched for this one before with no luck. Found it within a minute this time.
Took a little bit to find but really in the spot you would place it yourself. Tftc.
A cloudy day and GPS had us all over the place, but eventually we tracked it down some prickles around so watch out. TFTC.
A trip to cache around the mid north coast of NSW via the southern tablelands. TFTC.A few prickles but easy enough.
Found at 1:28 PM GAFF3.Ouch, ouch, ouch! Is the terrain rating correct? Thanks to widge76Feedback: Please check on what has grown around the cache.
Found with Team CCRuDS on a long weekend camping trip. Hoping the wind dies down and our tents stay up. SL #5261 TFTC

I went looking for this one about 10 months ago on my way home from a farewell but it was dark and there were a lot of prickles, so eventually I gave up and planned to return another day.
Passing through today on my way to a work function and decided today was the day to give it another go as it was still light out. Started looking in one spot, closest to where my GPS put GZ. Had no luck so decided to work methodically from the bridge along the fence. It was not long at all before I had the cache in hand - it was definitely a lot more simple to find when it wasn't dark and I could avoid pointy things to retrieve the log.
A few prickles later and the log was in hand, signed and returned to its hiding spot. Thanks to the quick find today I won't be late for my work function.

Found with sebass19 on a huge day of caching in the Southern Highlights; all up, 68 finds for me today, not bad considering the heat! Took a few minutes to spot the cache, but then once we did, the task was then to retrieve and replace the cache and not having took much of my arm stabbed into with the prickly bushes. It's very prickly right now! Then, we had forgotten the tweezers in the car so we had to go back quickly! Cool bridge and 'welcome' cache, TFTC widge76!
Spent 5 minutes looking, couldn't believe it when I did find it, easy to see when you know where it is, as well as well camouflage with the surroundings, just hanging there

Came to find this Dnf again today. I didn’t think it was that easy ! Tftc. Ocw Geo_Rx
Decided to get out on foot for some caching today.
The run of DNF’s on this one had me worried but there was no reason for me to worry. A quick find as I trusted the iPhone pointer, lost a couple of drops of blood though !

We visited this one at the right time of year as it may have been much more difficult at other times. Found quickly by Mrs SKI.
It was time to move on from Goulburn today, but only a short distance to Mossvale.
We did the usual however and stopped to pick up a number of caches along the way, some with short diversions needed.
We also did one waypoint of and Adventure Lab and fully completed another en route. This afternoon we did some further caching as we looked round town. A lot were quite wet, but as Gippslanders from Victoria we understand that is what happens when you have weather like we have had.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache widge76.

“WOAH WOAH WOAH, IT WAS THAT OBVIOUS?” I was thinking to myself as we spotted it. Night time geocache and reflected of my handy iPhone torch.
It’s a cold and freezing night and didn’t have time to sign the log but I am 100% telling the truth.
I first searched for this cache on the 25/7/21 and eventually found it on the 2/6/22, what a relief.
I have 2 DNFs to put to rest.
TFTC Widge76!
Happy Geocaching! Geo_RX

(marked different geocache for this one so it’s #66 will ask to remove)

Probably my last night time geocaching adventure.
Pretty hard for me. Couldn’t find cache.
Maybe because it was night time or maybe because I’m a bit out of practice tonight.
Only started today.
Pretty prickly situation I reckon.
Great effort!

This took so long for us to find. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be in the end but wasn’t thinking about it properly. TFTC!
Found it this time! After reading a couple of clues we found it in quick time on our morning walk. Unfortunately no pen to log out find as we weren’t planning on geocache by this morning. TFTC
After being distracted by larger object nearby trusted the needle and soon made a rather prickly find. TFTC!
A good day to be out caching.
This one took a bit of searching but i spotted it eventually. Getting to it however was a different story.
I finally was able to manoeuvre into a position to grab the cache safely and was able to sign the log.
Thanks.

Was barking up the wrong tree! Not even a tree haha Thank you, clever hide.
Well that was a thorny proposition but eventually the cache was in hand. SLTFTC
Nice little find! The log was really wedged in there so I ended up using two twigs like chopsticks to pull it out. TFTC!
Today is the 9th November 2020 and I managed to find 75 Caches for the day with my friend Loci612. It was an amazing day of caching. We had no DNFs for the day and we also got a grand total of 37 FTFs. We spent a total of almost 14 hours caching and I was dog tied at the end of it all. One of the highlights for the day were seeing a Lyrebird and almost hitting a kangaroo head on at 90kmph (just Missed Him). In total I drove 770kms but I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with 75 finds including the 37 FTFs it is hard to write a different one for each cache.
ALL CACHES WERE SIGNED DSD. ALL CACHES WERE FOUND IN GOOD ORDER UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE. THANKS FOR THE CACHE AND THE ADVENTURE.
I have included my one of a kind Geocache Poem with this log for future readers to enjoy.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
***** I am currently writing more detailed logs than usual. This is because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author" Badge. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to write an average of one hundred words or more in each Found It log. As of 9th November 2020 my average was 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200 words per log target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 7600 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 160 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

Spied some Gatorade Saxophones sitting underneath the bridge first, before eventually having a comprehensive look around GZ and spying the cache hidden out of sight! Grabbed this one whilst heading past the area, a quick stop didn't hurt!

Spent quite some time searching. No luck today. Might be worth a quick check from the CO to see if it’s still in place.
Found on our slow trip north with Roostaman.

A big day in the Highlands caching today. With so many new caches popping up, there was a plethora of caches to choose from. Taking advantage of the longer daylight hours and many solved puzzles, I was able to find some good numbers.
Found this in the first place I looked.
Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches I found today.

TFTC,
Counting down to the end of the year and with a big effort today, I reached a massive statistic that I will never get another chance to achieve with my 33 cache finds today. This year has been a massive year with so many achievements and reaching an average 8 caches per day is the personal crown on top of everything else.
I achieved it with a trip to the Southern Highlands and by leaving early, we beat the heat and finished about 1:00pm.
A big thanks to all the cachers who have placed and maintained the caches that have helped me reach this milestone.
