Out grabbing a couple of caches whilst in the area.
A quick stroll stroll and cache was soon in hand.
Thanks for the cache Robmc. Appreciate your efforts.

Out and about finishing the Mystery at the Museum. This was certainly hard to access but luckily had the correct tool. Thanks Robmc
Neat hide. The lid is missing though log is dry. An easy find to finish on for the day. TFTC
Nice easy find and improvised by using a nearby tool as we had left ours at home. Lid missing but cache is dry and in good condition. TFTC
A quick find on the way home tonight. Lucky for me someone left a tool to retrieve the cache. Back to collect the last two another day. TFTC
Got the little bugger.
That put us under a lot of strain!
TFTC on our second attempt here.

Found a spot in Dohertys Rd to park amidst all of the road works which I cannot wait to finish so both of the duel lanes are open.
GPS bounced around a bit and I overlooked the cache at first but I soon spotted the sneaky hiding spot and added my name to the log.
Thanks Robmc TFTC.

Well you may have placed this cache on a hot day but today was anything but that with cold wind biting as I hunted for this little guy. Initially the GPS had me way over the fence line but I knew that couldn't be right. Eventually it came back settle on the right spot. Even that didn't help right away as I hunted for the little blighter. As I was checking I spotted what I was looking for but I didn't have any tweezers with me but all was good in the end I managed to shake it out and get my name in the log book.
Thank you Robmc for the hide and smiley

Yup... wrong strainer! but now that I have found it, I understand it! Nice one. Tftc
A chance to get those legs back into action again now that we are back from Morocco. Had no problems here once the bike was assembled. It had to be there.... Read the clue and tweezers did help. Now for the return journey.

Seemed to go straight to it. There doesn’t appear to have a top/lid, but log dry and all otherwise fine. T4TC

A DNF the last time I was here, happy to turn that frown into smilie with H making the find in a place I must have overlooked. Thanks for the cache Robmc.

Annoying Tarbit and I had planned a caching day which started the moment I stepped off the Spirit at the pier. AT had planned a route that started at the docks and took in both the KCT and Federation Trail, and we looked for a few caches in between there too.
AT was on to this hide pretty quickly (not sure how I missed it) and we were both thankful the car was a very short walk away. AT retrieved the tweezers from the TOTT box and the log was soon in hand for signing. TFTC

I picked Lost_and_found_79 up straight off the Tassie ferry for a day of caching and after heading to Webb Dock first we came over the Westgate Bridge to try the Kororoit Creek Trail, the Federation Trail and others nearby. Having come south along Kororoit Creek we were now following the Federation Trail out towards the west. We moved the car to Dohertys Road and walked back to grab the last few along here. I spotted this quickly enough but it was a bit of a challenge to retrieve. I nipped back to the car for a tool and it was a team effort to get our hands on the log. Our 26th find of 43 for the day. Left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series Robmc. Very nicely done. This one earns a favourite point from me.
Sunday is our caching day so we set off after a late breakfast to see if we could find this one, after a DNF last Sunday. After seeing two recent DNFs and a clue from the CO we were hopeful to find this. We looked where it had to be and it wasn’t there then I noticed something on the ground and there it was. We put it back where we are pretty sure it belongs. The lid is missing. I pushed it in a little to far I’m sorry so you’ll probably need a tool to retrieve the container.
Thanks for the clue and this great series Robmc.
Off to find some of the new ones in Altona

4th in a row to not find.
Read previous log ... noted a DNF but recorded a smilie.
We gave this a thorough going over, especially being the last along here and have to say that we doubt that it’s here.
Suggest CO to please check.

Couldn't locate this one this morning. I didn't really look very far and probably not very well. Come to think of it, that could have been the issue. I'll be back.

This one took a but of hunting to find, but eventually I spied the cache. Great trail in the industrial wilderness of Melbourne.
This one took me a couple of minutes too. Read the hint and still didn't find it at first.
The third last cache for the day and second last for the trail. This could have turned into a protracted search but something caught my eye and I spied the log and extracted it using the pliers on my every present leatherman.
Mind you I was distracted by the high voltage power poles just lying there on either side of the trail. You don't often get to see them up close so I took the time to have a good look.

We really enjoy reliving the history of the Federation Trail, each time we have the opportunity to add a few more smiley tokens to our geo-map of the western suburbs. A neat little hide to mark our U Turn point. Hopefully there are more FT caches to come.
Thanks to 'Robmc' for placing this cache on the geo-gameboard.

#15228. A lovely mild afternoon in Melbourne so the CO and I hopped on the bicycles and rode a short section of the FT. I found them and he was able to see that they were still in play.
Only a short section of trail and not the most scenic but it was nice to get out and blow some cobwebs away.
Here we are at the end of the caching trail for now. A nice little hide here so I signed and replaced and now it is time to return the way we came, doing a little side track exploring on the way.
Thanks Robmc

After getting about half of these when they were published I figured it was time to return for the rest.
Starting from the western end this time and a nice easy find was revealed here.
Sometimes you just get lucky and cast your gaze in the right direction.
Thank you for continuing this trail Robmc.
Another excellent walk here today.

*PS: I noticed on the news tonight that as a part of the Westgate Tunnel Project there are to be upgrades to the Federation Trail (and others). Part of which will include a new shared use overpass crossing Dohertys Rd right here.*

When these were published I was kicking myself, a day that I would normally be at the office except it was school hols so I worked from home, otherwise I wouldve been alongside LeeLee for the first to find. The upside to that though, is now I have a stash of new caches near the office that will help keep my find streak going. This one served that exact purpose today, was driving past on the trip between sites and stopped off to make this day 268 in a row. TFTC.
Working just near here I k ow how busy it is here during the week. Driving past on a Sunday was the perfect opportunity for this one.

I left my car at lone pine and walked on foot until I hit the final strainer. Not a hot day helped but a pretty desolate area that is not kind on the nose.
The toughest find. I did read a previous log referring to a TOTT and assumed height might be an issue. In the end I trusted the good coords and spotted it!
Thanks Rob

A nice walk along the Federation Trail which I have been on before for geocaches when the PtPP series was still in play some many years ago.
All of the caches we found today were spot on and easy to find which is just what the doctor ordered on such a hot afternoon.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this series along this trail Robmc and I hope to see some more as this is close to our locale and it's always nice to get out and find a few local caches.

2TF strainer! Thanks for this trail. There hasn’t been a good long trail near me for a while. I’ve enjoyed myself even if it is 35°c

This one took more time. GPS wouldn't settle. Hint didn't help. Was about to walk away and found
*edited... 29.1.2019 20.54*
This one did take a lot longer to locate. In reflection it may depend which way you come from and GPS settling. It was a while later I understood the hint however was distracted by other features in the area that could also relate to that with the GPS wandering. A TOTT may help with this one however I was able to make do today.
TFTC and variety throughout the series.
