#13727 11:45OCW Martin Cousins, Everest High and Brewmaker to tackle the Cox River Roads Rambling with a few additional caches on our way from and back to Sydney. We drove through some great rural countryside. Even in cloudy weather it looked pretty. TFTC
My apologies now for the repeated logs, this is after all a power trail of sorts, and as with my own, dont expect lengthy individual logs.Anything of note will be written at the end of the log.Needed some quality me time to help get my head into gear, so as the Geomissus has taken a two week interlude with the geodaughter in Victoria, I decided to take the opportunity to head out into the lesser travelled areas near the places I worked in many years ago, and also to gobble up some series I had been working on in the last few months. But on the way, also spend some extra time in my favourite location, the bush! This Power trail was actually just a warm up for my main target in Bathurst, around Peel Common, and actually only spotted this series by chance! The entire circuit was much longer than the 25-30k I anticipated, and was more like 50 by the geoAstra. What did really surprise me was the amount of traffic on the road, precisely what I was not expecting. The first few hides were tricky to pull over as they are doing a great deal of road work in that area, and a couple of others that I avoided as I was just a bit uncomfortable pulling of the road in those spots. But thats ok, had a nice visit to an area Ive not visited, but have been in the area having run 6 foot track many times! My favourite area by far was Sandy Hook, where I pulled up to have a refreshment break. No traffic there!
I've had a love of the Cox's River and the western Blue Mountains area for a long time, so meandering through these back roads which hug the water courses and ridges was a perfect way to spend a morning in the Blue Mts.
Recent rains and run-off made some of these caches very hard to find as they were buried under sediment, while some of the roads were like outback 4WDriving.
Thanks for placing this series

We are back to enjoy another drive in this beautiful area and collect some caches. Many thanks for the caches here.
This is such a lovely area to explore. We took lots of photos and found some caches. Thanks Pandsa for an enjoyable day out and for your caches.
We are on a cachey 10 day holiday, starting off with 2 nights at Emu Plains to hopefully collect the new GFA puzzle caches around Luddenham and some more of the Band caches north of Penrith. Then it’s 5 nights at Oberon to collect some of the many new & old puzzle caches that we have solved around the area, and also hoping to complete the Oberon Adventure Lab. After leaving Oberon we will be visiting Jenolan Caves, for both the caves and the Jenolan EarthCache, then heading to Katoomba for 2 nights to ride the Scenic World attractions (Railway, Cableway, & Skyway) and to do a few caches of various types plus an Adventure Lab. We will end the holiday with a stop-off at Wentworth Falls for some more caches and a couple of Adventure Labs.
Today we are travelling from Emu Plains to Oberon, with stop-offs at Medlow Bath and Blackheath for some caches and Antique Shop browsing, and will be taking the Coxs River Road route from Little Hartley to collect some of the "Coxs River Roads Rambling" cache series. This was our 23rd find of the day (day 3), and 55th find of the holiday.
Continuing along Lowther Siding Road and this one was next, and it was the first one in the series that we have not been able to easily pull off to the side of the road. Had to make use of the geomobile's 4X4 abilities, but it was another nice quick find once at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC pandsa.

Decided we needed some numbers today and thought this trail would be easy but with long grass and some slightly wonky coords at times, it was slower going than we hoped so we pulled at the half way point and will be back for a more focussed visit later.
This one was a quick park and grab. TNLN TFTC

It is our last day here, and as the ladies went to high tea, we went caching, and decided on the Coxs River Road. We had a great time touring the area, picking up 25 of the Coxs, plus a few unrelated, plus a trig and a cool GA movable. We've left enough for another adventure next time we're here! Thanks for placing this series in this picturesque area.
As we left we noted a muggle watching us from his shed just over the fence..... TFTC!

Tried to finish off the Cox's Road Rambling series which I had started yesterday. Most attempted were found and in good condition but had about 3 DNFs for various reasons, addressed in the individual logs.
Another couple were not attempted due to timing constraints. Really enjoyed this series on another magic day for enjoying the scenery. TFTC and for placing and maintaining this series pandsa.

Headed to the Blue Mountains this weekend to visit family, and given that geocaching is now back on the menu after a month and half off, I decided to take the youngest out for a drive and pick up a few of this series!
Wonderful scenic drive, and the weather was perfect.

A fantastic series in beautiful countryside. Thanks for making this power trail. TFTC.
Out of a drive. In a new area. Country is so beautiful. For us Canucks it. Is. Similar. To. Valleys. On the edge of the rockies. Tftc
We camped at the Wallace Lakes rest area with the caravan, found a spot where we would not get bogged in with the copious rain we had experienced. This morning dawned foggy but with signs the sun would make an appearance. We started early and loved the scenic route we were taken on in finding the caches on this series. We saw many things including frogs, raging streams, kangaroos plus distant views of the mountains. Most caches were found after a short search though there were a couple we could not find. Thanks to pandsa for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
An early morning start and very smoky. Al to try and finish the Cox river series.
Really enjoyed the roads picked despite limited views. Heaps of kangaroos and even a wombat this morning. All caches were found quick and easy.

Today it was decided to take a run along this trail with ilook4geo. There we found a variety of containers in different types of hides and we enjoyed finding each one. The logs were mostly small in size, so were signed with both lots of initials. Thanks go to pandsa for creating this series. The views we had were mostly of smoke but we enjoyed the drive anyway.
It was fun rambling along the roads and finding this series of caches with goingplaces2. Views were very smokey, but we enjoyed the day. Thanks for this cache and the whole trail.
On my way to meet up with geobuddies for a weekend of caching and camping i left home alot earlier to make a start on this trail. The drive was great with some really amazing views along the way,I started out slowly but once I found my mojo I was soon cruising along, some hides trickier then others but still able to find all that I stopped to look for today thanks to top coords and hints.
A great series and drive
Thanks pandsa for setting up this series and thanks for the cache

19,253. Found during a weekend caching meander with minniek and GLISS!, and an awesome time was had.
Our first aim was to do the Coxs River Road series, and we finally hit the trail at about 11:00. This was the next one, and it was quickly found once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then we headed off to the next one.
Thanks pandsa !!

Out and about today with Churpy, thought we'd do this series to add to the Mystery At The Museum count. Thank you for the cache! : )
TFTC Lol had me stumped hehe out on adventures today with Squirrels0291 and her geohubby
This morning we decided to head down Coxs River Road and look for some of the caches as we made our way to Oberon. It was bitterly cold and windy but at least it wasn't raining.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks pandsa for the cache and the series.

A quick and easy find. A lovely day for driving, and caching. Cheers
We are spending some time driving from Katoomba to Bathurst. A nice place to be, a few caches here and there, and a wee bit of driving fun too! In the smaller log sheets we signed as MK+KR to save space.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

On the way for a cold weekend at Tuglow caves, i took a slight detour to find some caches (before I'm too tired and sore) while waiting for the rest of my crew to reach our meeting point.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Out for a few caches which have gone down since we were here last. Took nothing left nothing, Cache all good, good coordinates. 21 for the day. TFTC
On way back to Sydney today near the end of our current geocaching holiday in Australia we couldn't resist diverting off the main highway to undertake this trail of caches. We are so glad we did as we found ourselves on a very scenically beautiful drive on a road less travelled. This one was a nice quick find once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book while being watched by a herd of cows and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
This section of road has a different feel to it with the trees on both sides and not so many views. TFTC
Gave myself the late morning and the rest of the afternoon to tackle this series. I had a couple of DNFs, one probably cache blindness and the other two for other reasons. Thanx for the series
Rambling suggests a leisurely pace,
which is what I was pacing at this Sunday morning
Closing in on the bottom of the descent here,
and I wasn't stumped for long as to where this cache might be

TFTC pandsa. A side benefit of caching with friends - finding out one the car's brake lights is dead!
On my way to stay with family at White Rock I took a slight diversion to visit the Coxs Road caches. There was some lovely views, beautiful Aussie bush and fun caches. Most caches were found fairly quickly, thanks to the generous hints, others took a little longer and required reading previous logs which I found most helpful. Please excuse the generic logs and thanks for placing and maintaining this trail pandsa.

Sorry about the generic logs for this series, but I didn't log these soon after we did them & I've now lost my notes for each cache.
It was a lovely Sunday, perfect for a drive in the country. We spent the morning driving along the route and enjoyed our day. All caches found with no problem.
Thanks for placing this series.

I was making use of the mostly accurate hints, and this was one of the easy finds. Great views around here now that the place is so green.
We turned for Oberon for lunch and petrol and this was a quick one ad we went.

Thanks for placing this interesting series of caches pandsa. I enjoyed reading the brief history of the Parishes of Hartley, Kanimbla and Ganbenang especially the connection with the Zig Zag Track where I had recently logged two other caches on the escarpment. Loved the rolling hills, green pastures, winding country roads and, of course, the fantastic views. Undertook the searches jointly with Forereach (and Mrs Forereach) and we came across hardly any traffic or muggles during the day. What a great day out. Please excuse the generic posts - its hard to be creative for each cache in such a large series!!
We spent a great day with my brother (Dogwood53) caching in the Kanimbla Valley, overcast sure, but the rain fortunately held off. Returned to finish off the rest of Pandsa’s “Coxs River Road Ramble” series and enjoy the stunning views across the valley. Pardon the generic logs on all of this series, but it is difficult to be creative logging so many wonderful caches individually. TFTC's
Great area to explore. Very scenic area. Nice and green in the valley. Signed and replaced. Thanks heaps for all the new caches.
we found some cool caches today , plenty of historic spots , tottally awesome [^] we luv this backroad country caching !
