Day twenty two of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Staying in Queenstown.Went across the water for a walk around the Golf Club. Then we hit town for a gelato.Nice views from this side of the lake. Thanks, Robmc.
#21253 - 5:42:42 PM; Day seven of the GeoToroa Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and our better halves. Today is our last full day in New Zealand, so some sightseeing and a spot of caching filled our day today. After breakfast and a trip on the Gondola, the ladies set off for some retail therapy in town, while Sdl and I headed out for some caching, making our way to the golf course and collecting several caches in and around that area. Picked up this one to wrap up the day as we headed from our hotel to get tea. No problems here and the cache was returned as found after signing the log. TFTC TeamCacheventures
Found it on the way to the airport. A bit of a steep climb and some trespassing involved I think. Great view!
We have arrived in New Zealand and are enjoying the fresh air, the clear lake and the great landscape. We are exploring the area around Queenstown. But not without heading to one or two caches and finding and logging them. Virtual and lab caches always have interesting places and sculptures. We learn a lot and have a great day. Many thanks to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
In the area with LuckyL10n after the Dunedin Mega... Took a few minutes with this one, but eventually LuckyL10n came up with the find all was good. Log signed and we were on our way. Thanks for this one TeamCacheventures...cache all good.
Nice, easy find. Short walk up from the Hilton, where we stayed for a couple of days. Very peaceful place to sit and enjoy the views. Dropped off a trackable. TFTC. FYI: Log is pretty full, but there is still some space on the back.
Took longer than it should have. Lovely hkoi up to it. Have made it a bit more hidden. Gorgeous view from here! Tftc
I looked for this on my last visit thru here but there were people working up here. Last visit here I saw a deer on the track no animals this time. Was at the right angle so a quick find
Coordinates are a bit off. Our perseverance paid off. Beautiful view . Thanks for the cache!
Found it 2/6/24 with the help of the photo from a previous searcher. The gps wasnt accurate for us either
Quite far from where the GPS pointed. But thanks to the previous log I found it.
My GPS wouldn't settle, with a 4 m radius and being short of time I had to DNF this one. I did find a discarded pipe and some broken glass during my search though, so take care in the long grass.Awesome viewpoint.
Found the nearby archived cache first, then found this one. Nice view from here. TFTC.
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. After reading the corrected coords found easily.
First geocache found since covid on the way back to the airport, to finally place a trackable where it wanted to be. Nice little spot.
It's feeling like the end of the day but there is time for one more cache - this one.
Visiting Queenstown for the IH24, and our trail brought us here for a quick find! All good here, TFTC!
An impressive viewpoint, but it took us a while to spot the hiding place, which for us was about 10 metres north of the coordinates, at S45 01.816 E168 43.920. TFTC
We spent a little time looking around for this one but got there in the end. Great views, TFTC.
Took a wee while to find, but got there in the end. The hiding spots quite exposed, so i tried to cover it up a bit. Tftc
Even when you leave the lakeside only a little bit the land inclines and drives the sweat on the brow of the cacher. Well, there are already drawbacks for a spectacular view. I pushed the Beam upwards and took the hair needle bends on the track upwards. The more I was disappointed that the lookout was occupied by a camper. This occupation does not seem to be the exception judging by all the rubbish lying around. But the campers were still sleeping. Caching early in the morning also has its points. I let my eyes silently wander to check for typical signs of a hide. Well, that was the right decision. I spotted the hide and could enter my nick in the log and re-hide without any reaction from the people inside the tent.Thx for hiding.
Travelling from Finland in NZ! On our way from Auckland to Queenstown, we stayed a few nights in Queenstown before continuing to Auckland and home. Stopped at the c on our way back to hotel from a long hike. Nice cache and beautiful scenery. TFTC!
Today we went to Kelvin Heights followed by a trip over to Arrowtown. We grabbed a few caches too.As we headed to Kelvin Heights we saw this on the way and so parked up and wandered over to GZ. The cache was found after a bit of a search - log signed and all replaced TFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Had no luck here sadly. A lot of places to search but some muggles were at GZ drinking beer and smoking so it wasnt easy to have a good strong look. Maybe next time
Coordinates seem off and there was a muggle camped at the top so too hard to keep searching sadly
Thanks to previous loggers we expanded our search immediately. Found easily 9m down the hill! TFTC
Day 3: QueenstownThe agenda for today for to fly down from Auckland to Queenstown, and cache around the area before heading off to the next stop. This is my second time in Queenstown, and this time, I wanted to visit (and revisit) some of the nicer places in the region, and pick up the new ALs that have sprung up. The weather was pretty good for the most parts, which was a welcome change from Auckland, so things went smoothly despite an early hiccup with the rental car at the airport.(End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: It was quite a hike to get up to this cache, but the view was definitely worth it. However, it is a shame that the place is so trashy and the coordinates were off, which meant that it was a slightly longer hunt that I expected. Thankfully, I did have time to kill. All good here - thanks for showing this viewpoint. TFTC!
Our second day in Queenstown. We drove out to visit the historic bridge and find the multi cache and virtual. This was close by and I headed up to find it. This was a long search. The GPS was very erratic. After reading some previous logs I moved to another area and spotted the cache. Loved the view from up here. TFTC
Was looking In the wrong area Finally found it after about 5-10minsWorth trying!!!!
On a two week holiday from Australia and enjoying the scenic delights of both north and south islands of New Zealand. Today we are traveling from Invercargill to Queenstown on our second last day in this fabulous country.Out for an afternoon walk and decided to grab a few caches along the way. Nice view from the GZ. Had a brief look around GZ, but can up empty. Expanded my search and quickly found the prize. Found that our GPS was out by approximately 17 metres today. TFTC. TNLN. SL.Find # 1661.
Walked from frankyon hub and across the bridge and then the zig zag zig zag track all the way to the top. I did not meet another soul going up but about 7 on my way down who were going up. I remember that there was a cache up here several years ago . I took photos . Which I'll add later
Thank you for this cache
Thank you for this cache
On a very chilly morning minus 2 so it said ! - I walked down to the bridge from the Hub then across the bridge , attempted to complete the multi with no luck and then went up the zig zag track up and up the zig zags to the top to locate this cache and to take some photos up here . I am sure there was a previous cache here years ago !
What a lovely view of the dart river, Frankton and the aircraft taking off from the airport. Easy find
Lots of rubbish but the path I went down just had tree branches and I found it straight away
Beautiful spot
Beautiful spot
A quick walk to ground zero. Beautiful views from up here. Cache was easily found and all is well here. TFTC.

The coordinates got me close, the view assured me I was at the correct spot, and by thinking, like a geocacher and reading the hint, it was an easy find.
Good view here. The co ordinates put us on a rocky ledge, but after a fruitless search we read previous logs & soon made our way to a quick find. Thanks for placing this one.
