TFTC while in the Riverland with my family I took my nephew Brody out looking for treasure and we came across this one making sure we wernt too close to walking the plank at the local watering hole.
The sun was just peeking over the horizon as I packed my gear into the car. Today was the day I'd been eagerly anticipating for weeks: the annual Lameroo Geocaching Extravaganza. Lameroo, a small town nestled in the heart of South Australia's Murraylands, was famous among geocachers for its challenging hides and breathtaking landscapes. As I drove through the picturesque countryside, the excitement bubbled within me. The rolling hills, lush vineyards, and wide-open fields seemed to promise an adventure at every turn. I finally arrived at the event's starting point, the Lameroo Oval, where a bustling crowd of fellow geocachers had already gathered. The energy in the air was palpable, with everyone ready to embark on a day of treasure hunting. The event organizer, Sarah, a seasoned geocacher with a flair for creating tricky hides, welcomed us with a cheerful smile. After a brief introduction and the distribution of the first set of coordinates, we were off. I teamed up with a couple of fellow enthusiasts, Mark and Lisa, who had traveled from Adelaide for the event. Our first destination was the historic Lameroo Railway Station, a charming relic from the town's early days. The cache was cleverly hidden in an old, weathered railway sign. After a few minutes of searching and some teamwork, we found it, signed the logbook, and exchanged some small trinkets. It was a great start, and the find boosted our spirits.Next, we ventured to the Lameroo Nature Park. The coordinates led us to a dense grove of eucalyptus trees. This cache was well-hidden, and it took a keen eye to spot the cleverly camouflaged container. As we searched, we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the park. The chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves added to the sense of adventure.By midday, we had found several caches, each one more challenging and rewarding than the last. We took a break at the local caf, where we shared stories and tips with other geocachers. The sense of community was strong, and it was clear that this event was about more than just finding caches; it was about connecting with like-minded adventurers. In the afternoon, we tackled one of the event's most anticipated caches: a multi-cache that took us on a tour of Lameroo's historical landmarks. From the War Memorial to the old courthouse, each location held a piece of the town's rich history. The final clue led us to a hidden garden, where we found the cache tucked away beneath a flowering bush. It was a satisfying end to a challenging quest. As the day drew to a close, we gathered back at the Lameroo Oval for the event's wrap-up. Sarah handed out prizes for the most caches found, the best teamwork, and the most creative log entries. Though we didn't win any awards, the real prize was the experience itselfthe thrill of the hunt, the beauty of the landscape, and the camaraderie of fellow geocachers. As I packed up my gear and prepared for the drive home, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction. The Lameroo Geocaching Extravaganza had been everything I hoped for and more. It was a day of adventure, discovery, and connectiona perfect example of what makes geocaching such a beloved pastime.I drove away from Lameroo with a smile on my face and a heart full of memories, already looking forward to next year's event.Come visit the World's longest running annual event -GCAK1D5- keep the weekend free -June 2025 Can't wait!!2448

Thank you for taking me to this place. I looked down!! Was just scared looking up, when the 100s of birds flew over me when i spooked them. This one needs a new logbook. Unfortunately, I didn't have replacements, I had my sisters car for this drive. I used the back of a receipt as a log, all I had in my bag to add our name. TFTC

Thanks for hiding. Caching with Wollaston and SeasonedBird and enjoying exploring the area.
After a good sleep I had the tent packed up and was signing my first log book at 8.20am not bad for me for a Sunday morning.
Enjoyed 2 lovely events today, caught up with caching buddies and found a nice variety of hides. Collected about 60 today a mix of caches and adventure labs.
I was very weary when I got home the sunny day was an energy drainer. Was again grateful not to encounter any scary wildlife. Collected a lot of empty drink cans and hundreds to be picked up, what is wrong with people.
Thanks as always to all the lovely cache hiders for placing and maintaining their hides.
My phone was quite annoying at times today with the GPS frequently showing me many km away from my actual location.

A day trip to the Riverland was planned with earthlight, The X-Trailers and LíB to attend a couple of events, complete some Adventure Labs and find a few caches. [^]
It was a perfect day for caching and we had a great (tiring) time doing a few walks and generally enjoying the company while socialising and finding caches.
We left the brekky event and came to Monash to find the caches there along with a few new ones close by. A quick find here as I was with previous finders.
Thanks for the cache TopDriver216.

Oh dear. Grabbed a very late lunch and coffee at the general store and headed down here. Very very green down there. Cricket game in full flight. Cache found easily, not sure if is in right spot but replaced as found. TFTC
After arriving in the riverland, we were shocked to see the devastation in the Renmark area from yesterday's storm. We had experienced only a little of the wind and hailstorms.
