Thank you to the CO, who replaced this one in speedy time. However, I still made it much more difficult than it needed to be by climbing the bank to the left of the hide, up to the track above, and approaching the hide from above. After signing and replacing, I descended the same way and then was able to see the container at a stretch from the rocks. That really makes it a T3.5. Otherwise, probably only a T2.5 in my books. A favourite I think.
TFTC! Nice spot, despite the thorns. Easy climb for the kids, but hidden at a hight that kids 10 and under may have issues seeing it when they are in the right place.
Have replaced it. Now 2m to the left of the coordinates. Up the bank , you need your climb. Look for the snake like Manuka, see photo, its at the top of this!
With a small list of hides to look for, this was our first stop. Nothing but empty bottles and cans found today.
Staying at the camp, and thought we'd have a look, but to no avail. Looks like some recent slips, and some gorse, sprayed/ cut back. Couldn't see an obvious cache location...if someone else finds it we'll be back ,
Day off work and Mrs Rubbishparty visiting for a few days so off to Queen Charlotte Drive for some caching. Got lots of scratches but sadly no cache.
Found this last year with Elliot13 and never logged it so now that were back again I thought Id do it seeing as this particular point has become a very special place
Found this on an evening visit with Trifolia Argentea. There was some really strange interference with my GPS unit in this bay; I kept getting sent 30-ish meters off course! Fortunately the location of caches on the map, and hints, was enough to find them.
We visited Momorangi Bay on the last evening of our stay at nearby Mahau Sound. It was a pleasure to discover that the bay housed this cache by one of the top COs from back home in Christchurch. TFTC, CatseyesNZ!
Not today. Think In spotted a hint thing up the cliff but I left my ladder and gorse gloves at home.
DNF searched for half an hour, what bush more than 100, grose through to beach trees, may need a check or a better hint, seems far to over complicated.

Tried to get thus one this morning but there was someone sitting on the fishing spot so came back after we had finished the walk along the sounds.
Love gathering catseyes on beaches when we walk.
Thanks for placing this cache

New container placed today. About 10 m from last placement. In a wee patch of ‘bush’ above a wee fishing outcrop past the jetty. Will update the coordinates!
Road is currently closed due to multiple slips. Will have to wait until this is all cleared before I can replace ! Sorry ️
Bad weather causing slips has impacted this. I am hoping to sort a new hide in a few weeks.
Apparently covered by a slip. Will investigate in the upcoming school holidays in July.
yup I think k it's gone. no sign of slip as it's all cleared away (probably cache I cluded)
While on holiday at Momorangi I cecked this one out. At GZ there was evidence of a large land subsidance and suspect the cache has gone with it.
Mum had an unlogged DNF here at this time last year while camping here for the week. Now she had unfinished business and came to look for this cache on the day she arrived for a 9day stay. A very quick find this time as the cache was quite exposed. After signing the log she gathered some rocks to hide it abit better. More hidden from muggles but a geocacher will easily spot it. Thanks for the hide, now its time for a dip.
I was out this way last weekend - but forgot to grab this one - and it was much busier then. Quiet today and cache is hidden from the general public - thanks!
Nice new container tucked away nicely.

Staying at Momorangi Bay for a kayaking weekend although it was too windy to get on the water today so I went caching. Saved this one for after dinner, a friend from the club decided to come with me curious to see what a cache looked like. I turned around to tell her that the GPS was reading 0 and the cache was right in front of me. Thanks CatseyesNZ

The bank where the original hide was located is subsiding and will not be intact for much longer.

Have replaced the container. This cache is now at slightly different coordinates due to band subsiding at the old hide. You now need to walk about 10 m around the wee track to the right of the jetty, the terrain rating will be changed shortly to reflect this. The hint still applies. The cache is about an arms length into the bank. New coordinates are the my location ones in the photo.
Had a couple of looks here in between muggles. Will have another look at a later date
After walking the first part (well the part from this end) of the Queen Charlotte walkway we came along here to find this one. We had intended to have lunch here but chose a gorgeous spt on the track. Was pleased we did because although this spot is lovely it was cold and windy when we were here. Many likely spots so investigated a few before it was found by someone more observant. TFTC # 14,665
I love Momorangi Bay. Stayed here once - - many years ago. Should really do it again. TFTC .
Mrs Sobad had just walked part of the Queen Charlotte Track with other cachers and we looked over to Momorangi Bay a few times on the walk. We then headed here for coffee and a cache after the walk for the 6th find for the day. A shared workload here as one found the cache while another made the coffee and a third looked for reception. There was a group fishing but they showed no interest in us.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A nice visit to Momorangi today. Very quiet and peaceful with only one other person seen, a change from summer conditions. Enjoyed watching the few seals and the gannets. Found a few caches we hadn't looked for in the past. TFTC.
#9 find (and 1 dnf!) today. Had to muddle around after retrieving and before replacing whilst some muggles enjoyed view and sun from the wharf. All good, tftc
An easy find. A nice spot. Would be hard to obtain in summer without being seen I imagine.
Out walking The Link pathway and called in to check out this site. All good and another smiley on the way. TFTC.
On our way to Picton with time for a cache or two.
Nice and quiet at GZ. Almost tempted to have a swim.

The Woodbourne Adventure Sports Club had scheduled a walk/run/MTB/geocaching mission to the Link Track based around the newly opened section of the pathway near Wedge Point. Several Club members took the communal transport to partake of their various codes, while I went solo with my main mission to carry out some long outstanding maintenance on a nearby cache which has been disabled for over a year. Of course there were a few new listings in the area that could be snaffled up should the opportunity arise.
I saw this cache and two of its siblings released almost three months ago when I was on a family holiday in Golden Bay. There wasn't much I could do about them from over there and as I thought, the low hanging fruit (including this one) went to the usual suspects. I managed to get a FTF on the one across the water by using my 30th wedding anniversary present from my wife (a Jet ski) and today I will end up getting this, the third and the next one, the fourth in the series.
I see the CO calls this cache the second in the series which got me searching their other caches, only to find there is another second in the series (GC81ZZT - Midshore). Looking at when they were placed, I guess that makes this one the third, Ngakuta, the fourth and Lochmara the fifth. It seems as though I have all the Marlborough ones anyway.
At GZ c:geo took me along te narrow path past the jetty, but I couldn't work out where the cache could be. Taking a look at the cache attributes, I noticed a 'Wheelchair Accessible' attribute and modified my search accordingly and soon found the cache.

along with aitchebee we found this one after a school trip here for the day! tftc
Having eliminated all the difficult and wrong locations we homed in on the cache. Thanks for placing
We were in Blenheim helping a friend move houses, luckily we got it all done yesterday, especially considering the amount of rain that was falling today. So we made a plan to find just three caches today, the first was a T5 up the top of a pole and there are these two new caches that we can use towards a challenge we are working on. We need to find caches within 21 days of their release to go towards the Fast to Find component of the DGSc,
So rain or no rain we had these newish caches on our radar. The rain had certainly set in, so asked GK to drive close to GZ. There was only one very wet looking tent and one closed up caravan in the camp area. We parked and I sussed out where to search before popping out to grab the cache. I got back into the vehicle to sign the log to try to protect it from the rain and then I braved the rain again and returned it to where I found it. Then I had to get changed and put some dry clothes on for the trip home.
Thank you for the cache and thank you for the smiley

Two from two here and parked at the main car park. There was a couple jumping off the nearby wharf as I approached but no worries. I followed the arrow along the narrow edge to the old wharf. Nope, too far away so retraced my steps. Ahh, probably there then. Yep, gotcha.

Today was supposed to be WASP day but due to the closure of nearby Picton tracks, and the lack of people wanting to head out onto the water the trip was canned on Weds morning fairly late on. I had brought along gear into work, and factored in a couple of 4-day improving options into Q C drive so headed out at lunch and helped myself to a single P T session to achieve my aims. As it was I did the Picton/Havelock/Renwick loop and a great drive it is too.

{FTF} The Seagnoid dropped in early evening to see if I wanted to join him. Had not been home long and his e-mail got found the following day. Yep Im in. So we head out to Ngakuta , then onto Momorangi to hunt for this one. I searched under while The Seagnoid looked there. We both checked along the walkway to the other wharf with no success. The Seagnoid go to talking to a couple of muggles wandering what we were doing, while I finally captured and tagged this elusive one. Yes another blank log book. Cheers
Shot out after work with Taybeedragon to go FTFing. Arrived here and started the hunt. A couple of intriguing holes in the bank, but they were covered in cobwebs (after just a few days?), and if weren't, would be too inviting to poke a hand into. Probably not. Tried a few other places that were just as incorrect (and just as unlikely). A lot of places, actually - this hunt took way longer than expected, but part of that was the bank blocks large areas of sky - the GPS having trouble finding GZ. But the Taybeedragon found it, and we were rewarded with a nice pristine logbook which we duly defaced. Woohoo! {FTF}.
Before we started the hunt we walked explored the old track to the wharf site. Seen this so often - they would rather cut a track along the cliff to a rocky face so they could use a short wharf, than a long wharf off a beach. Cutting the side road is obviously a lot cheaper.
