Find#2175Down in Wollongong for the long weekend trying to score some caches to help with a challenge nearer to home and this one fit the bill. Very Quick find once at GZ however getting to the cache is a completely different story. A huge favourite point from me Cache and log in great condition TFTC
fitzy_1965 and I headed to the Lake Illawarra area to do some caching with friends for the Canberra long weekend. We signed our group as SHI (ShellHarbour Invasion) which consisted of Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73, fitzy_1965 and myself or if most had already found we signed our own names. It was a great few days away and lots of caches found. Thanks to the CO's for placement.
Shellharbour tripFound with Joolay, minniek, fitzy63, isopeda, contesta, Tanjengine, dty73. Logs signed as Shellharbour Invasion Team (SHI). Nice set up here. Thanks for the hide Wilbert67
Chooo ooo [Found] on a quick trip down to Shell Harbour with dty73! Found with a bunch of other Canberra cachers! Signed SHI (Shell Harbour Invaders)Thanks Wilbert67!
Find # 1218825/5/2024 14:04Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off as many on the solved pile as I can. Headed across to the coast for the long weekend to meet up with a few other CBR cachers. The main target is the SES series, having worked on these puzzles last year and gradually made the solves. Some with help and others straightforward. Either way it was an enjoyable series, generally. Now its time to collect. And of course with so many others to choose from in this area, its a busy weekend.Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun! The group consists of Joolay, KittyKatch, isopeda, minniek, fitzy_65, dty73, and Tankengine. Signing as SHIAll caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks Wilbert67 for LIPT No 32 ; revived
Long weekend with Contesta, Kittykatch, Joolay, DTY73, Tankengine, fitzy_1965, and MinnieK with the main goal to finish the SES series. Signing as SHI - Shellharbour Invasion. Managed to stay dry on this one - as did Joolay who actually shimmied out to the cache. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Well that was a fun Looking forward to a warmer weekend enjoying the lovely Wollongong area with Kittykatch, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73, fitzy_1965 and minniek. Signing Thanks for getting me out and about Wilbert67
Tankengine and I drove down from Canberra leaving at 6:30am Saturday morning and joined our friends (Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, Isopeada, minniek and fitzy_1965) and we had become part of the Shellharbour Invasion Team (SHI). We could only stay one night, so up early Sunday for a quick bite to eat and more caching before we had to leave everyone to head home again. We had a fun time caching, logging many finds and a couple DNFs, enjoyed a lovely dinner at the very busy club at the great event on Saturday night and most of all hanging out with great friends. This cache: Well thats a bit of an adventure. Cool fun though. Tftc!!!
Part 2 of a paddling expedition with PPE. Despite the recent rain the branch want too slippery as I made my way out for the grab. A quick sign and replace and then a launch of the yaks out towards the lake for a few more. TFTC
Well that was interesting spotted the cache and then had a discussion of it was worth it or not. Geo hubby decided he would try and low and behold he had the CIH. Made his mark and replaced. Managed to stay dry . Oh the places you’ll go when you geocache! TFTC and the laugh we had.
Note- make sure you remove all electronics from pockets before attempting this one.

31,972. Found during an unexpected journey down to the coast.
A Cacher was caching in Goulburn on Tuesday and made a bad mistake by leaving his GPS at the last cache he did and then driving home to the coast. Oops. minniek rescued the GPS that night, and after a few messages sent and received I was on my way to the coast yesterday to return it to its owner today. Any excuse to go caching ! I stayed at the CO's place overnight, and then the three of us met up for a coffee for the handover. Once that was complete Wilbert67 drove me around for a few hours cherry-picking caches for me, which was awesome. The next for the day, and much like the previous finder this was a joint effort. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks Wilbert67 !! Nicely set up.

Out caching in the Illawarra today with Wilbert67. I'd borrowed a MTB this week from a friend for an upcoming adventure race this weekend. As such I thought it would be a good idea to have a test run to get a feel for the bike and make sure I was comfortable and confident for the ride legs on the day, especially given I've never actually gone off road on two wheels before I reached out to a few geo friends for suggestions on suitable trails and when Wilbert suggested completing his Hayward Bay cache in conjunction with some of the LIPT caches, it seemed to tick all the right boxes. Even better, he offered to accompany me on the ride.
Ha! Once I realised where this was and what was required I did have a chuckle. Well I certainly did not bring my swimmers today but still wanted to give it a go at least. I started to make my way along but then I looked down.... Hmmmm, I am not the most coordinated person and could just see myself going for a swim. Probably not such a bad thing in summer but today I don't have a change of clothes and it's a long drive home thankfully the CO took pity on me and assisted in putting the log in my hands.
Thanks for the cache, certainly a fun one!

Saw the cache and had macaronesia flashbacks and thought I wouldn’t be able to get it but I prevailed and got it. As I was on the tree a little kid named “Cooper” and his dog (looks a bit like Zelda) came up and asked us what we were doing. I don’t think he spotted the container and we said we were just climbing a tree. TFTC Good cache.
Out on a Lake Illawarra SES clean up mission today. Lots of great Rats caches to collect on a perfect summers day.
I backed off this one last time I was here, but today was feeling much more confident. Quite an effort to securely get out on the limb sufficiently, but fortunately I have telescopic arms and was able to make an accelerated retrieval.
Great cache and adventure - gets a fave point.

A day out with Everest High to do a loop around Lake Illaware to find the SES caches from The Rats. When close to our route, we also picked up a few other caches.
It was a great day out; very hot but the cold sea breeze made the drive very pleasant.
A fun cache where Everest High showed off his tree climbing skills. He even managed to stay dry.

There wasn't a chance in hell my chunky butt was getting that cache thanks for the hide anyway!
Found this a while back. Today with Geo sons help we braved it. Prize was reached and signed. TFTC
Didn't want to risk falling in this afternoon with my work clothes on.

Think it’s fallen off? Can see what looks like what it’s meant to be? Maybe check
TFTC. Have tried this a few times, however it took our son in law to get it, after he fell in
In the area to visit Mr Gaztek’s mother so stopped in for a few caches before heading home to Sydney. Approached GZ and a muggle dad and his muggle son were baiting their hooks ready to drop their lines down the shore a bit. Had a chat, told them what we were up to but we couldn’t find the container right away so they went off to fish. Mr G stepped out to a possible place and then Mrs G spotted the container- two actually!
Wait, what! That is not an easy place to get to. Mr Gaztek quickly and bravely volunteered to let Mrs Gaztek make her way to the container while he took photos and counted the mosquitos on her back. Nice, eh?! Despite the hint we thought swimmers would be the worst thing you could wear here because that bark was a bit rough and the water below was full of sticks and snags. Better to have a helmet and life jacket!! As you will see from the photos, Mrs G survived and Mr G fulfilled his self-appointed tasks. Fun and challenging! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

TFTC. Quick find at GZ however took a lot longer to retrieve the cache individually. OCW MF428 & Shaneoyo. Geodog Atlas was not with us today.
Well what a challenge this was. Both Shaneoyo and Miltsy92 had 2 separate attempts at this. Shaneoyo just getting there on the 2nd attempt. It took a long time and was a lot harder than it looked, especially with large and very uncomfortable branches below in the plonk. Once Shaneoyo got up there after more than half an hour, the next problem was trying to open the cache, sign the log and close the cache with only half a hand available to avoid falling off. Then it was 'only' the matter of getting back down

A bit harder than your standard LIPT cache! A bit dicey but we got there end safe and dry. TFTC!
Found with nissan 65 had to partially undress as i was in good clothes.Thankyou for the cache
Geopartner spotted it and climbed out but no bottom to it and log missing. Pic below TFTC
I got to the cache, but the container is only partially there, log and bottom section is MIA.
Searched the wrong location for a while. Reassessed and looked at the GPSr again, ahhh, yeah easily spotted.
Not easily retrieved in my work suit, but I got there!
Cheers

Drove down to Wollongong via Macquarie Pass, so I stopped in at a few caches on the south side of Lake Illawarra.
I spied the cache with a torch, as I had arrived at GZ in the dark. I made the manoeuvre to and from the cache successfully. I was more worried about the birds raining down from tree branches above. TFTC Wilbert67

While over from Tassie to attend the Gong OzGeo Muster 2019 myself and Goose of GooseandEgg we managed to polish off few series and grab some other random caches in our five days on the big island.
We flew out on Thursday night and arrived back in the apple isle late on Tuesday night, thanks for all the caches.
We normally try and get some old caches or D/T's we are missing but this time it was more about a couple of series and catching up with a few fellow cachers.

Day 88 Mainland trip - OZGM
We headed out caching with the Tassie contingent of Tassie Trekkers, gooseandegg ad stainless-steel-rat and this was one of many caches we found today. Another one found while doing the SES series. A long day but a great time was had by all. TFTC

After finding a couple of SES puzzles nearby we had a look at this one. We did question whether it was sensible to do this, one of the group did and he handed off his valuables and took the plunge. I'm happy to report we all signed the log and there were no drowned rats to take home.
Thanks Wilbert67 (I have seen your name on a few Tassie caches)

Found while out caching with a group of cachers today including Maccamob and pprass. This was a tricky one but we manged it.
Thankfully it was very quiet here for what was needed to retrieve the cache because once you start you don't want to be looking about for muggles and it's too late for stealth. It didn't look easy but MrG's impressive cuddle system seemed to work well. TFTC Wilbert67.
Staying at Cataract Park for the OZ Geomuster with whitewebbs, gooseandegg and stainless-steel-rat we found these caches and this was one we found.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Went out on a morning caching drive for our final day in Wollongong with Noikmester, Pprass, Alansee & maccamob. TFTC!
Found at 12:48:44 PM: GAFF5 in the company of maccamob, Alansee, Noikmeister and DogBoyOz.
This one turned out to be a bit hander than it looked - but Jeremy who has the longest legs went out and managed to grab it just about one handed.
Thanks Wilbert67

We eventually came up with an acronym of DAMNP for the group. We mostly concentrated on park and grab caches. It was quite precarious getting out there, but I managed to reach it.

Here at the Oz Geomuster, Found your cache today. Wilbert67, thank you so much for placing it.
Caching day with Geofriends during Oz GeoMuster 2019, thank you Wilbert67 so much for placing it for us to have fun.
Nice one to do whilst we were so close. One less for the return journey. Thanks for the cache.
Doing a solved puzzle run but wasn't going to walk past this and not look. Pleased we had so many eyes as it made the find easier. Thanks for the cache.
The journey to the mega resulted in a lot of driving, with a few select cache finds, due to the distance I had to travel. If only there was time to find them all! Once at “The Gong” as there are so many caches, yet again, sadly, only some could be attempted. Thanks for placing the cache Wilbert67
Thanks for the cache. Out caching for the day with kingfisher_au, he decided to make it out the whole way. Down for the ozgeomuster , thanks for bringing me here.
out and about with AussieBen for the Mega Weekend doing lots of caches in the area loved this area and walking paths , yes me the old man got the Honors of retrieving the cache as he is most dispensable thanks and a fav from me
Found and willing to attempt terrain but retrieval thwarted on this occasion by muggle fisherman sitting barely 10m away. I’ll be back.
On my way home after searching around for a new geomobile but with no luck there today,I then stopped in here and took a look for this cache,
I wasnt sure what to expect then after some scratching around I noticed the cache and soon had the log signed,
A fav for the fun retrieval,
Thanks wil for the cache

I headed out this morning to grad a couple of caches, looking at the kitchen bench that needed attending to was just a look, it will still be there when I get back, I don’t have House fairies
Once at GZ I started my search and spotted a huge water dragon right on GZ.
Not only that there were heaps of jumping fish below, if I were to fall in I would be eaten alive by by either of them.
Was tossing weather to be brave... why not.
Up I went the water dragon went higher also. Straddling away and eventually go the CIH, with the pen attached where only women can place it was nice and safe.
Duties done and completed straddling back down, once on solid grown I had scratch marks from toes to elbows.
I was brave. The picture doesn’t do justice.

After a nearby FTF we headed around to this revived cache where it was quickly spotted...... ahh! the hint now makes sense as I look at GZ.... After removal of all electronic equipment I headed out to GZ where I was able to get the cache with relative easy and the log was signed.
Great to see this cache revived, I can see lots of laughter coming from this one.
Thanks

Perhaps some extra limb length helped here but I managed to fairly easily plant my bottom down and could reach out from there. TFTC!
I arrived here this morning and found the cache. However I wasn't prepared to risk getting injured to sign the log.
I had shorts on as well so not good on the legs.
I had shorts on as well so not good on the legs.
This was an intriguing and challenging cache, in more ways than one. Wilbert67 and I must have both been shamed into resurrecting our archived LIPT caches when they were discussed at the recent ICC event. Both our caches were published today - I came here after the earlier FTF and in the meantime Wilbert was FTFing my one at Boronia Park! Funny how things work out. Anyway, I got to GZ and soon enough saw what was required. In my rush to get these two new caches I hadn't noticed the terrain rating or the hint for this one so I was not prepared. Some tentative attempts at approaching the cache had me re-thinking for a while, but eventually a scratchy inch-by-inch approach had it within reach of my outstretched hand. Log signed and back I went again to solid ground. A fun challenge in the end and my second FTF of the day. TFTC!
