I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi adventure collectors

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Travelled from palmy, to get me out driving on the open road and walking this awesome garden. You can see the awesome work that people here do, to maintain the botanical gardens. I can also see the effort of the caches being placed around the Botanical Gardens. Thank you for making this trip interesting and fun for me. I liked this cache.

Holiday Time

A gorgeous day to explore the Bason Botanical gardens with the cousins, (too windy for the beach).

What a lovely little spot to enjoy the water birds. Miss 5 especially enjoyed scuffing her way through the gravel and then having to empty them out of her sandals!

After a quick search with myself having a good idea of the cache type, it was soon revealed.

23-Jan-21
In Whanganui for a dahlia show, out to find some caches with a muggle friend, who was surprise how quickly I found this good hide. Replace as found. FP. Thanks adventure collectors for the cache.

21-Jan-21
Last time this was a DNF for us but today the GPS was more cooperative. We thought we knew what we were looking for but we didn't! After much muttering Miss 7 found it as we had found a similar one elsewhere in Wanganui. Very clever hiding spot.

Log is full! We have photos for evidence if needed.

Cache # 4,947 - did with Infoferret as part of our evening excursion. Quick and easy find, as have seen similar hides before. They are very good, and this one was no exception. TNLNSL. Loved the ducks cutting through the algae in the pond! TFTC.

The Plan for the day
I was planning to get a few caches in Patea before going to work for the day but as I was leaving work called and ask if I wanted to come in early I said yes so I had to change my plan so I decided to get a cache closer to home so I choose this one

Finding the cache
Been out here a couple of times but lack the time to have a proper look for the cache one of the time I had just begun to search when work call and ask me to come in the second time it was raining cats and dogs I didn't have a raincoat with me so I waited for about 15 minutes to see if the rain would not stop but it did not so I left and headed to work. Today I have about one hour to find the cache before I have to head to work this should be plenty of time as I a helpful hint from a fellow cacher

Goals towards project GC
The main thing is that this will fill in a missing dot day and add to caches size and cache number Badges

Ewe-Jean Grey the sheep with a Red wooly jumper
Ewe-Jean is my Geocaching mascot who likes to have her photo taken

Thank you for the cache

I checked up on this cache to find all is well. In fact I was pleasantly surprised how this has weathered and how well it looks in its surroundings.

Happy caching Smile

Second day of my weekend in Wanganui (from Wellington) and before heading home my plan was to visit the lovely Bason Botanic gardens. Slightly overcast and breezy today meant that most of the time I was alone and unobserved, which really is the perfect conditions. A nice serene location, and didn't take long to spot this nice hide. All safe and dry here, TFTC.

20-Oct-20
A day in the Whanganui region caching today and spent part of it zigzagging around Bason Gardens. Quickly spotted what was needed. Thanks for the cache.

10-Oct-20
Once at GZ I thought I knew what I would be looking for as I've seen these a few times now (including similar caches of my own) but I was confused when nothing was revealed. So I widened my search further than I though I needed to then spotted the exact thing I suspected I was looking for. Even more confusingly the GPS now reckoned I was "close enough" which is not what it said when I arrived. The only negative thing today was the loud obnoxious noise coming from yobbos just across the water. Thanks for highlighting this interesting place.

02-Oct-20
Not too hard.... once we had found it

26-Sep-20
Got to GZ and had a rough idea what we should be looking for but the camo was very good in matching into the natural environment so it took a minute or so to find the right one. Careful eyes could just see this one. Another favorite point from us on this one as we know the extra effort here

I spent a very pleasant hour exploring the Bason Botanic Reserve. A lovely spot to visit. Sometimes you just spot that little something don't you. Upon closer inspection the cache was found. Nice hide. TFTC

22-Aug-20
We waited around for ages whilst a family took a series of photos, then it was a quick find thanks to jgirl1880s mastermind thinking

22-Aug-20
Couldn’t find cache

02-Aug-20
We were out on a big maintenance run but Mrs RRR needed the little girls room, so we popped up to the Reserve and while here, she said, "I wonder if there's any new ones here, or any we haven't done?" And sure enough the Tea House had been added since we were here last. So we set about finding it, and found some other cachers at the same time at the same location. So had a quick look, spied the familiar hide (have one like it ourselves) talked for a bit and then high-tailed it to fix up Nobby. We remember the initial cache that was here that we all found at the event...the whole reserve is looking really good. TFTC

24-Jul-20
Where is it?

17-Jul-20
We looked around a while but couldn’t find it. We actually looked for it a week ago but forgot to log it. Nice spot with the trees though, there were about 6 fantails circling us.

12-Jul-20
A nice and easy find. Very cool camo. Our last cache out here at the moment as the weather is starting to turn (got a bit wet locating this). The bonus though was the five or six cheeky fantails at the GZ. I’ve never seen that many in one place before. TFTC!

A day trip to Wanganui to pick up grandchildren gave us the opportunity to get a few caches. First finds since before Covid19 shut us in. We spent a bit of time looking then I read the hint and soon had it. Thanks.

We headed off to Wanganui today with the main aim of completing the four TMGT caches around there, as they are likely the only ones we will be able to try for.
It was a good day for travel - a sunny and cloudy mix and not too hot.
The first TMGT cache was Strachan's Cave and then we continued towards Wanganui, and up near Upokongaro to visit a friend, and collect a couple more caches. Next was back to Wanganui and a route up behind Virginia Lake and on to Westmere Lake. After dealing with the creative puzzle there, we were off to the beautiful Bason Gardens for this cache and a picnic lunch.
We liked the Japanese tea house and it's appropriate garden setting. Everything is always so well presented at Bason Gardens. It took a little searching and thinking before Mrs G lighted on the clever container - nicely done. Gets a fav. TFTC adventure collectors.
We then parked on the other side of the lake, opposite the Japanese tea house, spread our picnic rug on the lawn under a lovely weeping willow and very much enjoyed our picnic. Smile

08-Jan-20
Found on last summer road trip and logging it late. Was a hot day with plenty of muggles about so pleased the stones made plenty of noise to give warning of muggles approaching.

Very creative!!

Dropped in here to pick off this newish listing that has arrived since my last visit for the event and the new caches by the same CO, must be 5 and a half years ago. Parked up the hill and wandered down and despite some workmen fixing a light/speaker? had the area to myself and soon spotted what was needed. Added my name and replaced as found. T F T C adventure collectors

Just a local sort of day today, picking up some few and far between ones in and around townm and generally just escaping from the Christmas eve excitement. Was glad that Whanganui's CO's had shown me some more of their finest offerenings, nice one all.

In Whanganui for a week over Christmas, visiting and staying with our daughter and her partner and letting the news that she's expecting her first child, which will make 12 grandchildren for us! We squeezed in a cheeky trip to New Plymouth during the week and I advanced my TMGT cache finds to over 30, as well as grabbing a few more 'new' Virtual caches as well as my 180th Earth cache. Grabbed a cache on xmas day morning too meaning my 5-days will be complete on Leap-day next year - yay! Thanks to all COs whose caches I found and individual logs wherever possible.

I was at the Gardens today checking up on a couple of my caches so decided to stop and check in on this one. All is well with this cache and it's a great addition to my other caches in the Gardens.

Happy caching Smile

Spending some time in Whanganui as Mr Rubbishparty is working there this week. Today was fine and dry, for a change, so headed out to the botanic gardens. What a beautiful place, thank you for the caches places here. Having looked at the obvious, I realised I needed to look for something out if place. Great hide. TFTC

Find number 641. After dropping off a German friend in Wanganui yesterday it was time to start to head towards home to Hamilton today and collect some caches along the way. I ended up in Hawera and collected 46 caches in doing so.
Spotted this one quickly. The Tea House was not open for a drink but the cache was opened for me to sign. Thank you for the placement.

01-Dec-19
Last cache for the day. Got to GZ which put me near the large rocks so given some of adventure collectors other caches I figured this would be a clever hide so stood and looked to see if there was anything that did not look quite right and spied it straight off which was a bit of a surprise.

Nice hide adventure collectors! Signed log and left better than found.

Day 6 of the 7 day streak souvenir challenge.
Its always lovely to visit this park again. Despite it being middle of a week day, there were lots of muggles enjoying the area, but not at GZ.
This spot looks very different from when we did this caches predecessor here. I'd love to see the teahouse open .
Reading the previous logs, I did wonder how hard this was going to be to find, but was relieved to go straight to it. It might have helped that we have a similar hide.
Thanks for setting this up AC

10-Aug-19
I like this one ! Thanks for this cache !

01-Aug-19
Very quiet early morning on arrival apart from workers mowing the lawns which were super saturated after overnight rain. Juty Bug and I drove round to the Teahouse and parked nearby. We never found the original cache here and it looked like we wouldn't find this after a good search. However a second sweep and we soon had this well made cache in hand. Thanks adventure collectors. A fav.

I really love this park, hubby was telling me a story when we used to go to the camp 30 odd years ago and they used to have a game here it had herbivores, carnivores, and man - the herbivores spent the whole time hiding as they were the bottom of the food chain and only had to be touched by man or carnivores (this is what hubby was and still remembers this clearly) man was the camp leaders who had a stick if they pointed it at you, you died.
so thanks for bringing us back here I haven't been to this area so was nice to visit, gets a fav from us

Saw the publish notification come through today so I rechecked it's status as knock off time approached and there was still no logs.

Drove out to the reserve parked up and checked again, still not found. Who hoo.

Walked down to the lake and searched a little longer than it should have taken me and blast a second to find. Oh well first to finds don't last long around here. But work Trump's geocaching. I wonder how long I missed it by, minutes or hours .

Cheers.
