Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out late morning. What fantastic weather for another run around Yass. Mr Felix came across a sleeping possum in a fence post today, who did not want to give up the cache. Another good day.TFTC ALL7
Reperio 11:46Day 4 of our weekend getaway to Yass for a caching run, and after getting a better night sleep, we were up again early to hit the trails. We managed to fit in around 100 caches before having to head for home in Orange, but we had a fantastic 3 and a half days away non stop caching. Out on a hot Sunday collecting a few before Xmas takes over. Found while out with Smittengranny. Tftc
Today, I was out with barb2e. I had found most of the caches along this section of the road but had some unexplainable gaps. The aim of today's session was to grab enough caches for Barb to earn the new souvenir and for me to close out the gaps. It was harder than usual to find this cache of the CO, but after reading some earlier logs, the cache was soon in hand, log signed, and then replaced as found. TFTC ALL7
This one took some hunting and scrambling around but was finally located! Tftc!
Had to go "one rock" in and turn around to find it under that long low rock. There you go future finders

A final run out along this series and managed all but one for the day. A few of them have wet logs while some took more that a minute of two to find, but other than that the caches are still good to go.
Thanks again for the series ALL7....

Tftc. Out caching with Jaybeem and Giggles and found this series of caches. As I was driving, I wasn’t logging as I went. Log signed JBM/TLM to save space.
Much like others who's hearts sank when approaching this location, I was pleases to find this one quickly. Do not be put off.
Catching up on some very late logs.
Day 2 of our planned assault on Canberra with the same group consisting of The Drovers, Phetlern, Micaparamedic,
Alansee GoodLook, and ourselves.
We had another busy but very enjoyable day chasing series caches and happily we found all we were looking for with no DNF's
We all had a fantastic day and would like to write more but as we have said when you do so many in such a short time it is hard to remember individual hides.
This in no means takes away from our appreciation to the CO's for all the effort, time and expense they have done to let us find so many caches.
As per the other two days we signed as "The Mob" to save room in the log books.
Many thanks /// for the hides and the fun.
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

We stamped the logs as "The Mob" to save space in the logs - today there were 6 teams caching together: Team Crackers, The Drovers, Phetlern, Alansee, the lovely micaparamedic and myself.
Most of the cache finds were straight forward, yet a couple stumped us. A few were located where it was difficult to safely pull the car off of the road, but we made it work with some creative maneuvers.
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip that was planned at the Clear Waters mega was able to occur.
Adelaide, Victoria, NSW and Canberra - a decent drive, filled with various caching activities including Adventure Labs.
Several days caching with the awesome Team Crackers, gorgeous The Drovers, fab Phetlern, cool Alansee, and the lovely micaparamedic.
We laughed, sang to a vast variety of songs and chatted - almost non-stop! [^] We piled into cars and had such a fun time. Despite the light showers, windy conditions at times, we also had sunny days to enjoy caching in.
A sincere thanks to ALL7 for placing these caches, including the enjoyable little series.

Going by MagoosMinions log I was very careful at this cache, throwing rocks into GZ, beating about with a big stick. In the end it was an easy find on the edge of the rock pile, and I got a delicious Granny Smith apple as an extra reward. Thanks.
DNF - Due to discovering a full size brown snake behind a rock. I was lucky to not be bitten. Please avoid this cache!

We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

This auspicious date had been marked on our calendar for some time so we were particularly pleased to get some direction where we could achieve some high numbers for this once in 4 year occasion. We teamed up with local geocacher Albida for a relaxed but unrelenting day of finding caches. Lovely scenery and great hides. Our thanks to Albida and to ALL7 for adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Today is a challenge day for TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox, Flintstones and myself - we are aiming for 270+ caches in one day - a big ask! We are hitting a number of power trails around the ACT, mainly ALL7 and DSD caches. With 4 in the car, the jobs of driving, navigation and cache finding will be rotated around all of us. Unless otherwise indicated, caches found easily and in line with the hint.
Thanks ALL7 for the cache and the fun!

Lots of nearby safe parking, no long dry grass, however after strolling to GZ quickly lost interest, not poking around in crevices today lol
Found at 2:48 PM GAFF3.
We have not met GrimRaider, but we know of a cacher called Grim Reaper 1 in Nambucca Heads. That guy is a prolific cache hider with questionable co-ords and always with the same little plastic vial.
Took a while to find this cache and after thinking hard about the T rating, it was finally found in a very easy to access spot, but it was 9 metres from GZ which is tough when there are so many places to hide the cache around here.
Thanks ALL7

I headed out for a day of caching along Mountain Creek road with LuckyL10n. We each did about one hundred caches, but over a total of about 120 for the day. We had a few DNFs but largely we had a great successful day. After Yass we had to get up to 100 finds, so a few more on the way back towards Canberra to finish off the day.
Thanks.

#9559 - 3:47:00 PM; A plan was hatched earlier in the week with albida33 to do some caching this weekend. After some discussion, we settled on collecting this series and then a few others closer to Yass to see if we could both crack the 100 cache barrier for the day. The mission was successfully completed with 101 finds and 3 DNFs for me and 100 finds and 4 DNFs for a33. Those caches which we found were all in good order, although a couple were found out in the open. We replaced these in accordance with the hint once the logs were signed. Where a find was to be claimed by both of us logs were signed a33 & LL and others we signed individually. Apologies for the mostly generic logs. TFTC ALL7
Today's caches were not loaded into my Garmin, but my Tom Tom took me close and then the hint was enough in most cases for me to make the find. Lots of yellow tailed black parrots in the nearby pine trees. TFTC ALL7.
A few days caching in the ACT and surrounds with Steeba and The Rats, another trip away like countless others that we have done before. We got the dates, we did the planning, we worked out a route. But there was one thing that we could not plan for; the weather.
The caches were excellent. The company faultless. The weather; atrocious. High winds, cold, sleet, rain, mush, icy, snow, we had it all! But we endured, and had a fantastic time regardless. Did I mention that it was cold? Bone chillingly cold. I am not sure my fingers have as yet recovered! Some roads were even closed due to snow, curtailing our route and resulting in some last-minute changes.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

A very chilly couple of days in and around the ACT with The Rats and Hoojar- most of the time the temperature didn't peak above 4 degrees! Amongst the sleet, rain, wind and cold however we made plenty of finds on mainly a number of power trails. TFTC!
Headed out for a caching run with steeba and Hoojar that had a bit of everything. These caching runs are planned months in advance and to-date have been perfect. This trip was no different – except for the influence of the WEATHER. A weekend in the Canberra hills that had howling winds, driving rain, sleet, hail, snow, frozen body parts slippery icy tracks, closed roads and temps that never got higher than 6 deg by day and were subzero all night, but alas we had a great boys weekend caching.
Apologises for the generic log but it doesn’t detract from the caching fun, except for the WEATHER which played a major part in our weekend. Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides.

Found with Kittykatch out picking up All7’s new series. What a great effort All7 has put into doing this. Overcast day and a bit chill to start with but now a beautiful sunny day. TFTC
After a foggy start to the morning it cleared out to be a lovely day to be out and about for a number of caches that trail towards Yass. I started the series too long ago, and have even made this a 'good' place for a daily find... yes, it was easier to get out to a few of the closer to town ones at times! So today we set out to see what we could get done.
As it happened we managed to get all of the caches in the area that we needed and made a good day of it too. The roads were quiet and made stopping quite good, a little local traffic but not much and the coordinates seemed good and caches easily found. The lambs were about, a lot of alpacas, a free roaming ram and a few locals that saw nothing!
Thanks for the cache ALL7, another one complete and SO many more to go!

Today was a wonderful day cleaning up some of the missing caches on some various power trails around Yass. We had permission fro the CO to replace any we found missing, which thankfully was just a few.
Nearly all caches found in good order on the coordinates. Everytime I start to think I am running our of trails there seems to be another new one.... in fact I need to make sure I can keep up!

On the way to Yass, nice series on a great winters day. Thank you for another series.
While staying at Yass we took the opportunity to do some more caching with ilook4geo, mostly picking up caches between Yass and Murrumbateman. Some caches took a bit more finding than others, but it was basically a successful run. All logs found were initialled and put back with their containers as found. Thanks go to ALL7 for placing this cache.
The day was a reasonable one for weather, so went out with goingplaces2 for a caching run from Yass to Murrumbateman. We had a fun day and signed lots of logs with two lots of initials. TFTC.

On our way home from the Oz Geomuster 2019 - The Gong! We had some time to kill and thought about smashing out a series or two on the way home to Melbourne. We followed the Australian Animals Series from Collector to Gundaroo - the weather turned a little nasty but we had fun anyway! Then we decided to keep the train rollin' along a few more dirt roads and backroad highways. Our thanks to all of the cache hiders for these cool caches along roads we'd never travel otherwise.

After staying overnight in Yass, we made an early start to look for caches. Our agenda for the day was to finish looking for the caches along Mountain Creek Road that we started yesterday, to look for caches in the "Drive to Uriarra Road" series and to start looking for the tribute caches to the north of Yass.
We always enjoy caches that recognise the achievements and contributions of cachers. So we were looking forward to this series. We have met some of the cachers mentioned, have found caches placed by many and have become aware of cachers that we do not know but hope to meet in the future.
Unless stated otherwise, the coordinates were reasonably accurate, the caches were found reasonably quickly and and the caches and contents were in good condition. Unless the information has been updated very recently, the traditional caches were not all small in size - a significant number were micro. We found over thirty caches from this series today but will have to return at some time in the future to look for the remainder.
Thanks ALL7 for the extensive amount of planning, cache preparation and placement that went into this series. It was a mammoth undertaking which is greatly appreciated.

An impromptu decision was made with Rapidlywild in the wee hours that if the weather cleared up we would finish off a trail near Murrumbatman we had started a while ago and if we had time we would start the new marvel trail.
Weather was lovely today and not a lot of traffic so we made quick work of the Murrumbatman trail.
The start of the Yass Marvel Trail felt like we were on private property but it was lovely country side.
All caches were found in good condition except for one that was a little water logged.

With a last minute updated work roster given to me on Thursday last week, it allowed me to arrive early to ‘Clear Waters’. Yes, I’m not allowed on site yet because I’m not staying on there but I can at least in the Queanbeyan/Canberra area in preparation for signing the logsheet/book tomorrow. I decided on starting the new caching trail around the back roads of Murrumbateman. Even though I only got one section done it was still an enjoyable day out. TB visit on all caches. GrimRaider is a local cacher who likes to get out and about, finding caches but not necessarily logging them! Still, he has a respectable tally of 1,300+ finds, and has placed 8 caches of his own - each of which has attracted favourite points - in fact 3 of GrimRaiders caches have a combined total of 63 favourite points - I'll have to seek them out!
TFTC, ALL7 and thanks GrimRaider for all that you bring to the local geocaching scene!

Today we tackled this trail with Roostaman, MrsRoosta, Gullivers Travels54 and Lgoody, we signed the log as LGTTRM.

Suscoe was heading to Canberra today after a restful night in Gundagai.
We got an early start to collect a few more finds along the highways and on some of the quieter back roads.
It was great to see the sun rise over the hills and valleys.
We arrived in Canberra early afternoon.
Thanks to ALL7 for this hide, A quick find.
The grass was damp this morning.

#4951 24th for today
Now the Caching Carnival points are done, I've moved on to the next "challenge" which is to have the upcoming Clear Waters mega event be my 5,000th find. It's totally achievable in the small amount of time remaining as long as I stay on top of it, and with ALL7's great work of course. Today I grabbed another bunch of caches named after geocachers, some known and some unknown to me. No misses today in the quiet warm, but comfortable conditions.
Thanks ALL7
