Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out late morning. What fantastic weather for another run around Yass. Mr Felix came across a sleeping possum in a fence post today, who did not want to give up the cache. Another good day.TFTC ALL7 Cool

Reperio 10:43Day 4 of our weekend getaway to Yass for a caching run, and after getting a better night sleep, we were up again early to hit the trails. We managed to fit in around 100 caches before having to head for home in Orange, but we had a fantastic 3 and a half days away non stop caching.Gratias ALL7As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Out with allrounder to do our weekly check on the progress of our new home. On the way back to Canberra we took the opportunity to look for a few caches.

Log and cache is completely soaked. We placed a piece of paper in for now but it will need to be placed in bag to stay dry.

Needs maintenance logged as well.

Inside the container was wet and the log was soaked and unable to be signed. We placed a dry piece of paper inside and signed that. It has obviously been this way for some time as previous logs have said the log was wet. As this hasn’t been dried and replaced a needs maintenance is now being logged.

Catching up on some very late logs.

Day 2 of our planned assault on Canberra with the same group consisting of The Drovers, Phetlern, Micaparamedic,
Alansee GoodLook, and ourselves.

We had another busy but very enjoyable day chasing series caches and happily we found all we were looking for with no DNF's

We all had a fantastic day and would like to write more but as we have said when you do so many in such a short time it is hard to remember individual hides.

This in no means takes away from our appreciation to the CO's for all the effort, time and expense they have done to let us find so many caches.

As per the other two days we signed as "The Mob" to save room in the log books.

Many thanks /// for the hides and the fun.

Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.

Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

Thanks ALL7 (F=18985 H=1365) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

16-Mar-21
Did this cache with a group who logged as THE MOB. All in all we were appreciative of the CO's efforts in putting them out. Apologies for the generic log but what can one do?

16-Mar-21
We stamped the logs as "The Mob" to save space in the logs - today there were 6 teams caching together: Team Crackers, The Drovers, Phetlern, Alansee, the lovely micaparamedic and myself.

Most of the cache finds were straight forward, yet a couple stumped us. A few were located where it was difficult to safely pull the car off of the road, but we made it work with some creative maneuvers.

2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip that was planned at the Clear Waters mega was able to occur.

Adelaide, Victoria, NSW and Canberra - a decent drive, filled with various caching activities including Adventure Labs.

Several days caching with the awesome Team Crackers, gorgeous The Drovers, fab Phetlern, cool Alansee, and the lovely micaparamedic.

We laughed, sang to a vast variety of songs and chatted - almost non-stop! Cool[^] We piled into cars and had such a fun time. Despite the light showers, windy conditions at times, we also had sunny days to enjoy caching in.

A sincere thanks to ALL7 for placing these caches, including the enjoyable little series. Big Grin

The second day of caching, as "The Mob" setting out from Murrumbateman with Alansee, Good Look, Micaparamedic, Team Crackers The Drovers and ourselves, in glorious autumn weather, we had a fabulous day of fun, friendship and finding caches.

Thanks ALL7 for placing so many caches on the gameboard, which players enjoy finding.

My goal for today was to find at least 9 caches including 1 multi and 1 mystery cache. I managed to find all that I attempted - a total of 16 caches . It was a beautiful day for caching and when I need these sort of numbers I turn to numerous PT of All7 to boost my numbers on my calendar as comparatively, I have not done a lot of caching in the ACT. Thanks to all COs for the placing and maintaining of these caches. All logs were signed SG.

Streak day 69
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

#10024 - 1:22:00 PM; I had left the rest of this series so I could head out on Leap Day and top up my finds for that date past 100. Today was the day and after attending a CITO at the Australian War Memorial, I met uip with andrewbt and we hit the road. All of the remaining caches in the series were picked up without too much trouble and all were in good order. It was nice to collect my namesake cache as we made our way along the trail today. TFTC ALL7 Smile

29-Feb-20
The Leap day weekend on leap day started with a fantastic CITO near the War Memorial with a great BBQ, then moved onto a caching run with Liz & Bruce from Yass to Gund3roo and back to Yass via Murrumbatemen. We actually made it to the afternoon event in Gungahlin. After Dinner I decided to have a go at getting to the max 9 cache types I would be able to get. This took me late into the evening with an Earthcache & Where-i-go in the dark, but was very successful.

Thanks.

This auspicious date had been marked on our calendar for some time so we were particularly pleased to get some direction where we could achieve some high numbers for this once in 4 year occasion. We teamed up with local geocacher Albida for a relaxed but unrelenting day of finding caches. Lovely scenery and great hides. Our thanks to Albida and to ALL7 for adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Cache 5823 on 22 Feb 2020.

Today is a challenge day for TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox, Flintstones and myself - we are aiming for 270+ caches in one day - a big ask! We are hitting a number of power trails around the ACT, mainly ALL7 and DSD caches. With 4 in the car, the jobs of driving, navigation and cache finding will be rotated around all of us. Unless otherwise indicated, caches found easily and in line with the hint.

Thanks ALL7 for the cache and the fun!

We are doing a car caching day around Canberra with AngelG27, TikvaNZ and Fox in Jox. The challenge to find 270+ in a day. Starting bright and early we are hitting mainly power trails from ALL7 and DSD which have been dominating my map as green for a while now. Smile will be yellow now.

Thank you ALL7 for the cache and thank you AngelG for driving. Signed with stamp of the day or as TAFF.

A few days caching in the ACT and surrounds with Steeba and The Rats, another trip away like countless others that we have done before. We got the dates, we did the planning, we worked out a route. But there was one thing that we could not plan for; the weather.

The caches were excellent. The company faultless. The weather; atrocious. High winds, cold, sleet, rain, mush, icy, snow, we had it all! But we endured, and had a fantastic time regardless. Did I mention that it was cold? Bone chillingly cold. I am not sure my fingers have as yet recovered! Some roads were even closed due to snow, curtailing our route and resulting in some last-minute changes.

Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.

Cheers

10-Aug-19
A very chilly couple of days in and around the ACT with The Rats and Hoojar- most of the time the temperature didn't peak above 4 degrees! Amongst the sleet, rain, wind and cold however we made plenty of finds on mainly a number of power trails. TFTC!

10-Aug-19
Headed out for a caching run with steeba and Hoojar that had a bit of everything. These caching runs are planned months in advance and to-date have been perfect. This trip was no different – except for the influence of the WEATHER. A weekend in the Canberra hills that had howling winds, driving rain, sleet, hail, snow, frozen body parts slippery icy tracks, closed roads and temps that never got higher than 6 deg by day and were subzero all night, but alas we had a great boys weekend caching.

Apologises for the generic log but it doesn’t detract from the caching fun, except for the WEATHER which played a major part in our weekend. Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides. Big Grin

28-Jul-19
After a foggy start to the morning it cleared out to be a lovely day to be out and about for a number of caches that trail towards Yass. I started the series too long ago, and have even made this a 'good' place for a daily find... yes, it was easier to get out to a few of the closer to town ones at times! So today we set out to see what we could get done.

As it happened we managed to get all of the caches in the area that we needed and made a good day of it too. The roads were quiet and made stopping quite good, a little local traffic but not much and the coordinates seemed good and caches easily found. The lambs were about, a lot of alpacas, a free roaming ram and a few locals that saw nothing!

Thanks for the cache ALL7, another one complete and SO many more to go!

28-Jul-19
Today was a wonderful day cleaning up some of the missing caches on some various power trails around Yass. We had permission fro the CO to replace any we found missing, which thankfully was just a few.

Nearly all caches found in good order on the coordinates. Everytime I start to think I am running our of trails there seems to be another new one.... in fact I need to make sure I can keep up!

On the way to Yass, nice series on a great winters day. Thank you for another series.

16-Jul-19
While staying at Yass we took the opportunity to do some more caching with ilook4geo, mostly picking up caches between Yass and Murrumbateman. Some caches took a bit more finding than others, but it was basically a successful run. All logs found were initialled and put back with their containers as found. Thanks go to ALL7 for placing this cache.

On our way home from the Oz Geomuster 2019 - The Gong! We had some time to kill and thought about smashing out a series or two on the way home to Melbourne. We followed the Australian Animals Series from Collector to Gundaroo - the weather turned a little nasty but we had fun anyway! Then we decided to keep the train rollin' along a few more dirt roads and backroad highways. Our thanks to all of the cache hiders for these cool caches along roads we'd never travel otherwise.

04-Jul-19
After staying overnight in Yass, we made an early start to look for caches. Our agenda for the day was to finish looking for the caches along Mountain Creek Road that we started yesterday, to look for caches in the "Drive to Uriarra Road" series and to start looking for the tribute caches to the north of Yass.

We always enjoy caches that recognise the achievements and contributions of cachers. So we were looking forward to this series. We have met some of the cachers mentioned, have found caches placed by many and have become aware of cachers that we do not know but hope to meet in the future.

Unless stated otherwise, the coordinates were reasonably accurate, the caches were found reasonably quickly and and the caches and contents were in good condition. Unless the information has been updated very recently, the traditional caches were not all small in size - a significant number were micro. We found over thirty caches from this series today but will have to return at some time in the future to look for the remainder.

Thanks ALL7 for the extensive amount of planning, cache preparation and placement that went into this series. It was a mammoth undertaking which is greatly appreciated.

Found by Mary and David at 09:30. Today, we cached a loop from Yass along the Yass River Road, and returning along Greenwood Road, Hillview Drive and the Barton Highway. The lovely weather continued and we enjoyed the quiet back roads. At last, a cacher we have met. Our thanks to ALL7.

As my daughter had a party at home to which I wasn't invited I decided to stay the night elsewhere and hoping to find my house in one piece tomorrow. Drove all the way to Collector and then Gundaroo to start this part of the trail to Yass. As I started late I only just made it to Yass before it was pitch dark. Good fun on much more busy road then expected. Had to use stealth a lot of times. All caches found well and thanks for placing them!

An impromptu decision was made with Rapidlywild in the wee hours that if the weather cleared up we would finish off a trail near Murrumbatman we had started a while ago and if we had time we would start the new marvel trail.

Weather was lovely today and not a lot of traffic so we made quick work of the Murrumbatman trail.
The start of the Yass Marvel Trail felt like we were on private property but it was lovely country side.

All caches were found in good condition except for one that was a little water logged.

Thanks for all the placements ALL7 and thanks for another fun drive in the country side Rapidlywild.

Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. With a last minute updated work roster given to me on Thursday last week, it allowed me to arrive early to ‘Clear Waters’. Yes, I’m not allowed on site yet because I’m not staying on there but I can at least in the Queanbeyan/Canberra area in preparation for signing the logsheet/book tomorrow. I decided on starting the new caching trail around the back roads of Murrumbateman. Even though I only got one section done it was still an enjoyable day out. TB visit on all caches. All caches were in good condition and it was a nice variety of hides. I would like to thank ALL7 for the great trail and all other CO’s for the enjoyment that each cache brought me today. A few years ago, the geo-wife and I took a good look round this church after being told it was about to be offered for sale. We were in the process of arranging an architect to come out and take a look when we discovered we had been given directions to the wrong church! Surprised The correct church was actually much further along Yass RiverRoad and wasn't as appealing. Oops.

LuckyL10n has been caching since late 2012 and has a fine tally of 9,000+ finds. In addition to this, they have completed a 444 day streak, finished the caching calendar and are only two squares off finishing the D/T grid! Great effort!
TFTC, ALL7 and thanks LuckyL10n! Smile
