We had planned to stop at Murwillumbah but the showgrounds was booked out so we had to move along. We stopped at Burringbar, Mooball & Crabbie Creek to do the ALs. No bike riding todayHad our lunch break at Burringbar so had time to find the bonus here & also another cache.FP given. Thanks joojoo57 for placing the cache
One fine Spring morning, AtTheLakeHouse and WallabyWanderers set off on an adventure along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. What a great day we had! After camping in a nearby National Park we had a beautiful scenic drive to our start point at Murwillumbah Station. Then a second fuel injection of caffeine was had while doing the carpool thing and we were on our way. We were a tad nervous about riding bikes as we hadnt been on them since kids, but you know what they say. We loved every minute of the journey. Every bridge, tunnel and little town in between. Every point of interest. Every scenic view. We had a quick break at NumBums cafe in Stokers Siding, but I guess stopping at every cache was a rest in itself. We made it all the way to the end at Crabbes Creek and part of the way back before our hire time ran out, but Mooball was a great place to finish anyway. Loved the bikes and are keen to acquire one now. Keen to do the trail again too. One day wasnt enough to take it all in, especially with so many caches along the way! All logs signed as ATLH and WW on 21/9 or if room permitted our names in full.
I did learn about some other history and it was about who invented fractions...Henry the 1/4th TFTC
Log was wet paper pulp when I found it, disintegrated into nothing as I attempted to unravel it.Have replaced with fresh piece of paper for the moment. tftc
Travelling inland in NSW by motorhome. Our goal was to cycle along the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail. We parked our campervan in Murwillumbah and then cycled along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail to Grabbes Creek and back.We passed 26 bridges and 2 tunnels, including the unique Burringbar Range Tunnel - it was fun.On the way we had a lot of fun with the interesting signs, the great nature, the adventure caches and all the other caches. Thanks to all the owners who showed us the interesting places.sayTeam sissifalke
When I first heard about this Rail Trail I immediately put it on my list of things to do. After a couple of false starts SusanDW and I finally made it to Murwillumbah to start our big adventure. Haven't been on a bike for years but the e-bike made it so easy. All caches were found easily enough, logs signed BG&SDW to save time and space. The trail was amazing, unfortunately we didn't quite make it to the end, which gives us an excuse to come back. Many thanks to the NRRT Cachers for placing and maintaining such a big variety of different caches. Apologies for the cut and paste logs
Logged as BG & SDW. A couple of cachers come to Murwillumbah for 3 days together trying to get as many smiley faces as possible in that time. Thankfully it is a very rich area of caches to pick from well done to the locals for placing and maintaining. The hiring of E-bikes start of trail was a great idea but even then we only got half way. Just means we have to come back again to finish it.Apologies for the generic postings all logs signed and replaced as found.
History of BurringbarVisiting the Tweed LGA with geopup today to collect caches for a challenge. I had solved this one before leaving this morning.A quick find here, log signed, all replaced as found. TFTC joojoo57# 10087CheersWillis007
Thanks joojoo57 for arranging this puzzle cache. Informative and well hidden.
pedal pedal pedalOn the way south with my new e-bike and visited Murwillumbah to ride the NRRT. Clocked up 55 Kliks today with a return trip from the yard2end and side trips to country villages Lots of traffic along the route. The tunnel was a bit daunting but I breathed thru it and was better prepared on the way back I think there was a DNF somewhere and one steep embankment I declined to scramble up Chatted to heaps of peeps! Swerved around a carpet python Spotted a glider up a tree being harassed by crows Fun morning out that strayed into the afternoon Sublime weather for pedalling (Picked up my shiny new iPad today (20 Nov) in Sin City, so catching up on logs )TFTC JooJoo
I'm having a week in Coolie and today's geo-excursion took me south to Murwillumbah and the Tweed Valley. I did the necessary research for this one last night and found the cache without any issues today after completing the Burringbar AL. All is good with the cache.
Thanks for this cache that added to my Burringbar experience.
Thanks for this cache that added to my Burringbar experience.
After a morning of helping out at our local school, I had a plan to attend a gig in Miami in the afternoon down south, so i jumped In The van and made my way south of the border to pick up a few caches and complete a few adventure labs.
After finding a spot to park the van I soon found my way to ground zero, where the cache was quickly discovered.
Log extracted and my mark made I returned the cache to its safe hiding place and headed back to the van ready for the next adventure.
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.
Cheers

I'm not sure when I solved the puzzle but it was most likely when we heard the first section of the rail trail was open. Knowing our fondness for rail trails, like a good scout I thought I'd better be prepared for a short notice visit... like this one.
Today we were riding the trail, a good opportunity to look for the cache. We had to fill in a little time at GZ to outwait an approaching muggle. And yes, it probably did seem like a random place for strangers to hang about but whatever, we got it. TFTC joojoo57.

Today was the first ruzzelz ride for 2023. The word was passed around to the fellow SEQ geo-cachers that the plan was to raid Murwillimbah area and complete the NRRT caches and any close by during the weekend.
A large contingent of riders assembled at the nominated starting point. There were road bikes, mountain bikes, electric bikes and many a hybrid as well.
A very enjoyable day was had by all and many thanks to the NNRT CO's for placing the caches and providing the focus for our group over the weekend.

With an invite from Ruzzelz to spend the weekend in the Tweed Valley exploring the new rail trail, I found myself camping at the showgrounds and heading off along the trail this morning.
“Ruzzlez Riders” consisted of ruzzelz, Herbz, Brother Colin, teamdfl, Beardman75, Que Sera, Pprime (P`), karicka, Captain Terror and Davidwazza.
The trail was excellent; well-formed and fairly shady, with great scenery, awesome tunnels, cute bridges, and interesting little towns along the way, and very popular indeed! I thoroughly enjoyed the day out, and I’m pleasing to come back with my partner to explore the area further. I ended up cycling just over 60km today, having enjoyed breakfast in Murwillumbah, morning tea in Burringbar, and lunch in Mooball. Thanks for organising it, ruzzelz, and TFTC, joojoo57. =^.^=

A simple research puzzle cache that I had solved last year on 21/06/2022, back before the promotion of the rail trail. I think it was during a weekend Byron Bay trip that I started to look at a few of the sparse puzzle caches in the area. No issues with these facts after finding the correct history online reference.
Overnight, a trip south was taken staying with family at Robina, which allowed me the opportunity to join an organised ride along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail (NRRT) starting in Murwillumbah. I started the day with Kirra parkrun at Coolangatta, and after meeting the group, we spent the day riding the 24 km NRRT route through terrific scenery with near-perfect weather. A highly recommended experience!
Ruzzelz' Riders consisted of a reasonably sized group: [Beardman75](https://coord.info/PRG2ADN), [Brother Colin](https://coord.info/PR5Q03Z), [Captain Terror](https://coord.info/PR2A296), [Herbz](https://coord.info/PR2CGFP), [karicka](https://coord.info/PRV3G5), [La Kedi](https://coord.info/PR1FP4H), [Pprime (P`)](https://coord.info/PR3YKQ6), [Que Sera](https://coord.info/PRFWTKP), [ruzzelz](https://coord.info/PR10CCB), and [teamdfl](https://coord.info/PR3F3HD). The NRRT took us through Stokers Siding, Burringbar, Mooball, and finally ending in Crabbes Creek, and we then turned around and returned back the same way with a few detours to side-geocaches as we passed (which likely added the extra unexpected distance to my ride). We set out on this ride departing from the Murwillumbah trailhead at 09:00 hr, and the total distance that I ended up riding was 62.9 km across an elevation of 898 m, with a moving time of 3:50 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/9147471600). We arrived back at around 15:15 hr, although we did stop for a coffee and drink break in Burringbar and Mooball respectively.
Several Adventure Labs were completed during today's ride along the NRRT, which included:

Whilst we used the small town as a coffee and rest stop, [karicka](https://coord.info/PRV3G5) and I took a short ride to this location as a few others had already made this find. It wasn't long before [karicka](https://coord.info/PRV3G5) made the find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and we signed the logbook as "RR" for Ruzzelz' Ride/Riders. Thanks [joojoo57](https://coord.info/PR81QV1) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Teamdfl & I had planned to ride the Northern Rivers Rail Trail (NRRT) last weekend and then Ruzzelz started organizing another of his group rides, so we changed our trip to join the bigger group.
In the end there was about a dozen people (and two dogs) in our group. The plan was that we wouls work together to find the Adventure Labs on the way south and do the other caches on the way north. That idea sort of happened as some people just could not ride past an unfound cache on the way south. A couple were left unfound for the return trip but not many.
On the return ride we did stop at Burringbar Pub for a meal and drinks. I would recommend a stop here.
Overall, a great day out. I ended up cycling a little over 60km.
All caches were in good condition with dry log books.
Thanks for the adventure Ruzzelz.

Saw a post for a bike ride along the NRRT from Ruzzelz and i was super excited to join . We signed the logs with RR for Ruzzlez Ride. I absolutely loved the ride along here and we stopped along the way for refreshments where the local towns are flourishing. There were so many people out on bikes and we saw such a big variety of them. Great that you can hire electric bikes here. Loved the tunnels the bridges and the great scenery. I did this puzzle in anticipation. Thanks joojoo57 for taking us here for a great day out and thanks to Ruzzelz for organizing. I hope to get back again soon
Another excellent cache for us to find on the NRRT along with a bunch of other cyclists/cacheists today.
We'll post a longer completion log at our last find of the day. TFTC.

This was collected on the return trip. The group was well scattered now. Some in front and a few behind.
On our way south again to support our daughter during her Chemo treatment. Stopping at Murwillumbah for a few days and looking at doing the NRRT. We have planned to do this over two days, one so that we can enjoy the ride and two because we have the time. Today is day one and we are concentrating on the puzzles already solved and any traditionals along the way, leaving the AD Lab for tomorow, however; I couldn't help myself and managed to squeeze in a few.

Designed by Bloody Stupid Johnson, Empirical Crescent, located just off Park Lane, looks like a normal set of houses on the outside, but the dimensions inside are a little twisted. Someone might live at number 1, but their bedroom could be at number 3 and the kitchen in number 5. It is okay to throw your junk out the window because it probably doesn't land in your garden. The one main advantage residents have is the low crime rate. This is probably due to the fact that most thieves prefer to only break into one house at a time.
Despite the best efforts of the Ankh Morpork Historical Preservation Society the place still hasn't been pulled down and its unique properties have ensured that not only do people not stay very long (owing to the problems of living in such a place) but it also lowers the value of the area around it.

It was our last full day in the region, so we decided to further explore the Murwillumbah area after our brief trip yesterday. 25 finds and just the 1 DNF for a great day in good weather, with just a few light showers.
A quick solve last night and we were briefed for this one, thanks for nice unambiguous questions, and a nice little container too. TFTC!

Quick find with great hint and interesting puzzle info. Cache and log in good condition. Thanks for bringing us here.
Will be visiting to replace log sheet in next couple of weeks. If next cacher has a spare log sheet - that would be appreciated.
Another mystery solved in preparation. But sadly the logsheet was very damaged. I left my mark.

Today my wife and I had been to Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby and finally Burringbar for the first time. We had visited some op-shops because my wife is always on the lookout for toys for preschool and grabbed some cheese and biscuits for wine o’clock.
I’m starting to think that wine o’clock should be an official time they start teaching in schools. I’m all for having daylight savings back home because it would make wine o’clock come that much quicker.
Normally we take a photo of ourselves doing something impractical near a cache, but there were some pedestrians approaching us from both sides of the footpath. We rushed the cache back and waited in the car for them to pass. Unfortunately we would have been sanctioned if we celebrated wine o’clock in the car, so had to take a photo of some of our purchases for the day. tftc

With restrictions gradually lifting decided to enable my caches. Happy caching and cache safely!
Disabling due to CV19 and will make them active in when safe to do so. Stay safe and stay home.
We don't mind a little bit of history so it was an enjoyable process to find out the info required to solve this puzzle.
With numbers in hand we found the cache while down this way for the day.
The town of Burringbar wasn't real busy at the time but it was a nice little place to look around.
At GZ we found the cache container easily and added our names to the log.

While visiting Burringbar, we thought a visit to the local cheese factory would be a good idea. It was lunchtime after all. With a nice collection of cheeses and some other bits and pieces we still had with us on our drive, we sat down for lunch and set about solving this puzzle with the aid of our good friend Google. A good set of answers and a quick drive brought us to GZ, where
the hint gave us the final clue. Another lovely one in this series.

Another of the great puzzles I have been enjoying, an easy find now back to that Antique shop we saw on the way in. TFTC
I love those times when researching, a simple statement or image sends you down a rabbit hole. So it was the case with finding the answers to this cache.
We love Burringbar, we used to have a cache here in the park, but it kept on getting muggled so we archived it. When we spotted a new to us, blue ? of course I needed to sit down and find the answers. We'd planned on coming down to this part of the Tweed Valley today anyway. With the answers checked and a viable set of co-ordinates, we parked in the main town park and walked down to GZ passing St Bridget's on the way. I casually mentioned to the other half that there had been a school here but it had closed due to changing polices a couple of decades ago, having had 48 pupils. It was then I realised I was in that rabbit hole - with all sorts of questions of why, when, where, how etc etc.
Fortunately the rabbit hole didn't keep us away from GZ and we made the find ok. Now to head back to town to see if there is any of Deb Allard's yummy cheese in the general store.
Thanks for the cache.

I was travelling from my parents in the Tweed Valley to Coffs Harbour for a work meeting. They had a medical appointment so after morning tea I was on the road by 11:30. I had three goals today - all of which were achieved. Get 12 caches to get me to 2000 (it is a game of numbers really); extend my caches further east; and finally get my maximum number of "counties" greater than 4 (I had calculated that I could get 6 today). Had a rough plan and got a few extra to add, so in the end got 16 caches of 3 types (plus a couple of unregistered DNFs) and got the 6 LGAs and arrived before dark. Not certain I will get any more in Coffs tomorrow, but also picked up a couple of TBS as well (always a nice bonus).
Having lived at Crabbes Creek 30 years ago, I still think this is the second time I have driven into Burringbar itself!. Solved this one before leaving home, and unlike Murwillumbah which I copped armfuls of Lomandra spikes and no luck this was a very quick find (knew the number would be useful). So got Tumbulgum and Burringbar logged, Uki solved (but not looked for) and Murwillumbah to revisit - lucky I am back up this way in a few weeks. Log was a tad damp here.

This was one of a number of mystery caches I solved whilst stuck at home with a busted shoulder. Today I was able to make the find whilst out caching with Wayn0.

Was here at the antique shop yesterday, stayed at Pottsville last night, worked out the answer checked my sat image and by the clue knew I was right so I came back this morning for the smiley. Thanks for the history lesson of this area.
Down visiting the Tweed area and doing a number of caches. After solving the puzzle , it was time to do get to GZ to find the cache. After a quick search it was soon found. TFTC
On my way to my favourite rainforest tree nursery down the road. This cache must have been placed just after I was last here as I was surprised to find a new cache in the valley. Thanks for the interesting history lesson.
Well I must say I enjoy a history cache and all you learn while getting the answers required. The timing was right too for a hot pie for a hungry passenger. Having worked our way through the questions and answers we had a probable GZ and gladly made the find and signed the log. Thanks Joojoo57 for our enjoyment with this cache and what we learned. Fav point awarded.
Cheers and happy caching!

I spotted this one early yesterday evening,so I set junior on to solving it as we were going up here in the morning, when we woke up and checked it,damn, two people have found it already,so we found it on the way home this avo.TFTC.
!!FTF!! I was just finishing up at work when I saw this come up - I'd just been in Burringbar for work earlier in the day, so I was 50/50 on weather I need to go back today - but a FTF is an FTF. So off I went, and just under an hour later I was at GZ. I saw the hint before I left, so had an idea where I needed to search - and there it was. I've never seen this style of little container before - how cool is it!
The history of Burringbar is interesting - but there's three things about this area that I love:
1. Mount Burringbar, in Mooball National Park. What a great walk up to the trig.
2. The abandoned rail tunnel - some awesome caches here.
3. The chicken sticks at the shop - they are one of the tastiest fast food morsals ever.
I must have only just missed you LizBeth1998!
A great cache, signed the log at 7pm - shame the shop closes earlier. No chicken sticks for my dinner tonight. Thanks joojoo57!

Worked this one out as soon as I got notification. Then had a meeting to attend. Damn you MattyRx! Haha
