L few caches here. A lovely area with plenty for kids to do. A quick search and soon had cache in hand, signed and re hidden TFTC Was out in the open so we hid it a bit better. TFTC
A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.I was heading down to Otorohanga this morning to pick up Mrs Coblet and her brother and drive them back to Auckland but couldn't resist stopping along the way to get a few caches.I found most of the "Parks of Te Awamutu" series a few years ago but didn't get this one so was keen to do so today. As I drove towards the park I could see quite a few cars and some sports games in progress so I decided today might not be the best day to look and headed off to find another cache nearby.Once I had found it I had a closer look at this one and saw that it was possibly in a place the people I had seen earlier wouldn't be as the games they were watching were on the field. So I headed back hoping there would be no BMX events on today.I parked in the carpark and things were looking promising as there didn't appear to be any activity on the BMX tracks and the spectators all had their backs towards where I needed to be.I walked towards GZ past a playground where there was one child playing, probably bored with watching the sports.Once I reached the BMX area I was pleased to see that I was right and there was no one there so I had a look at the impressive track and then headed over to look for the cache. The child in the playground had been joined by another and a couple of adults and they could see me but fortunately were too focused on the playground to pay me much attention.I soon spotted the cache and carefully extracted it as there were a few rather prickly branches standing guard. Thanks for the hide ZL1CJH, it's great to get another smiley in this series.
Set out today for a goal of 1000 caches. Headed off from Rotorua detouring around seeing where we end up, appreciate the cache! This one had us picking thorns out of our fingertips! Found amongst the blackberry.
On an afternoon mission with Reschedule to hit 1000 caches each. While we are at it we may aswell take the opportunity to clear out a chunk of Waikato towns.
Possibly moved from original position as not under ground cover but visible without foraging
couldn't find today. heaps of gardening been done, so hopefully it's still there somewhere
1.05pm. Last time I was here everything was so overgrown I couldn't get through it. Today the vegetation has been pruned and the spot on coords took me straight to it.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Never been here before, so was a great place to check out. Cached was a bit wet, but was where it was supposed to be.

Not sure why this is showing up as green instead of a happy face when ive already logged this as found. Having a second go at logging it to see what happens.
An easier find today with less plant growth and no people about. This completes my Te Awamutu caches. Thankyou for the cache.
The moree racer all lined up to give the track a go.

Bit of a panicked trip to Te Awamutu to intercept the Intercity bus mum had missed catching in Tauranga. Managed to get her on it here luckily.
While I am in town, I might as well find some caches, seeing I've not found any here before.
Nice to have a bit of a tour around town.
Another quick and easy find without a gps device.
Thanks for all your caches and a great tour of the town.
Time to head home.

That was tricky. We are here for a BMXing event so took quite a bit of tactic to be stealth. Luckily found fast between practice and racing, and geokids happy to discover a travel bug .
I’m still new so don’t know if I’m not looking hard enough but couldn’t find it
It has been a long time since Team SEAC did a numbers day, so we jumped on the chance to join when Keylev initiated this day. We started at 8 am and got home around 11 pm, and attempted most caches in Cambridge, Te Awamutu and finishing with a night cache in Huntly. On our mission today was Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Liverkiwi, Draffin, B4Dawn and HeMaLuDy. Caches were signed with SEAC to save space.
We parked at the gates and wandered across the fields to make the find

It had been quite a while since Team SEAC had been on a caching road trip together so a plan was hatched for a day trip to clear out Cambridge. It was a long but fun day, as we cleared out Te Awamutu as well, with the promise of not leaving it so long before our next roadie. All caches were signed SEAC to save space.
This was find #44 for the day, and a quick find after looking under ground cover, TFTC!

A number of Team SEAC banded together for a road trip day out targeting Cambridge and surrounds and ending up with a night cache. As per usual there were laughs, dramas, cache finding and a generally fun day! Having finished Cambridge we headed on over here to target this area.
Quick find as per hint and we were on our way again.
Thanks for the cache.

Like the Willy Nelson song, Team SEAC were On The Road Again. It had been quite a while since we had gathered to go on a road trip, so a trip to Cambridge was organised to clear out that town. All logs signed as S.E.A.C to preserve log space.
The gates were shut so we had to go for a bit of a walk across the rugby fields in order to get to GZ. Once there, we all started to search for the cache, only for it to reveal itself quite quickly.

Thankfully not too long of a walk in the drizzle to locate this cache. A nicely concealed cache and not a soul around because only fool hardy cachers would be out in this weather. Glad to get back to the dry van - TFTC

Managed to get this in between showers after two of us having a bit of a search.
Took a while to hunt this one down, and with all the spiky stuff around here I wasn't to keen to get stuck in. Checked a few logs, and found a few bits of info to help narrow down the search. Eventually spotted the cache, a few meters from where the GPS was pointing me.
Today was a day that I was out and about the town of Te Awamutu seeking caches.
There are a few little ones and a few a bit bigger ones. I enjoyed visiting them all.
Cheers for the cache.

Lot's of prickly and scratchy things here- but managed to find the target without too much damage! tftc
Have tried for this one unsuccessfully before, so was glad to have Warfi to assist this time and get the find logged. TFTC
Heading down with Stik-a-crane to National Park to do the Tongariro Crossing. We stopped on the way to get some caches. Thanks for placing this cache
In the area today with another team member heading to National Park to walk the Tongariro Trail, but had to locate just a few on the way down....this was the seventh of what added up to 14 for the day.....
Thanks to the CO's for maintaining some good hides.....

Day 12 of my trip around the North Island, exploring and finding some geocaches. Thanks for hiding psychrn
Caching in Te Awamutu today with some Auckland friends while some of our number climb Mt Pirongia. Managed to drive closer than we had been expecting, then were pleased to make short work of finding the cache. Thanks!
Thought we had found this one but confused with a similar title. Nearly took out the bottom of my little caching wagon on those speed bumps but managed to get pretty close to GZ. Mrs KC made a nice quick find of the decent sized cache. Thanks
TFTC - with the ominous sound of thunder and blackened sky’s this may have to be our last for the day.. Nice little hide.
In the area and grabbed a few caches in the middle of the night before heading back to the city.
TFTC psychrn, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 4 find(s) of 8 today, making this find #2329

Heading to Otorohanga for the weekend we made a detour to Te Awamtu. We were glad to get out of the car and stretch our legs after a delay on the southern motorway with a rubbish truck on fire. There was a family training on the bmx track but we were far enough away from them to find this one.
Sadly I haven't been out caching a lot since the initial lockdown and as it was such a lovely day here in TA I thought I'd treat myself to a cache before heading home. I was a little confused because GZ on my ph had me in open space and I eventually spotted the cache 6m away.
Despite it being the school holidays I had the place to myself.

Found straight away today with no problem. Certain I looked in this spot when I couldn't find it. Thanks for the placement. Dropped off a TB.
Unexpected trip to central part Waikato today. On the way back home decided to do small de-tour via Te Awamutu to visit newest Virtual hide on North Island. And also to find some other caches in town.
Reading previous logs helps. The trick is to be on the right level.

TFTC, found on second attempt as there were people using the track the first time around. After a few minutes of searching found the cache. Then I had to wait in the bitterly cold wind for Mr 2.5 to play on the playground for a few minutes (note to self, don't wear woolen tops in the wind).
Short trip away with woolwood9.
Nice find for us today.
*Thanks for giving us a reason to visit!*
Signed log: **tm/ww NZ** (may be a black smudge on plastic logs)
Good series of caches!

Great place, just took a little while to find it. Reminder to look carefully and if you see anything just grab it cause it looks like a piece of trash. Don’t forget to bring a pen cause there was not any in there.
After twenty minutes gave up. Never got nearer than three metres. No idea what I'm looking for. Failed miserably.
Quick easy find. Left a wee bit of colour for someone else to find. Fun watching bikes as well.
Thanks for great cache.

Found some more caches around Te Awamutu so teamed up with NZPatoto for an afternoon to achieve more smiles in between the rainfall. Had 6 to find found 4. #3 of 6 Found by NZPatoto We parked by the gates and walked. It started to really rain as we were signing the log so went for cover, had a seat and waited it out. Cache returned once rain stopped. TFTC
Out with Nahkins trying to avoid the rain. I found this just as a heavy shower came. Took shelter under the roof at the BMX. Signed the log and once shower disappeared put the cache where I found it. TFTC
Was passing by and noticed no one was at the track (unlike last time we attempted this cache) and had soon found the cache. TFTC
I found myself in TA today to take my son to his Football game. I saw this cache was near so we detoured here after he was done. There were a lot of people about as we arrived but they were all leaving on mass as a Rugby game had finished and no one took any notice of us make the quick find. Annoyingly I dropped my and was glad I had a screen protector which cracked thankfully saving my screen from the same fate. TFTC.
A wet evening so noone was about...this took longer than it should...partially because a took shelter as a heavy shower went overhead. When I widened the search area I found what I wanted. Tftc
Found on a detour on a trip to New Plymouth which is going to take a long time due to the distraction of geocaching! TFTC
Out caching in the holidays. We thought we would grab one last one before heading home. No-one on the track today so all good for a quick grab.
The BMX track was being used but there was just enough cover to be out of sight and teenagers never notice anything but themselves anyway. TFTC.
