I am currently on holiday in Spain until the end of August. I will replace this cache when I’m home.??
Had a bit of time to spare this morning before the start of grandson’s rugby game nearby, so came for a short stroll to have a look for this cache. I didn’t have my proper GPSr with me so used my phone which was plenty good enough. Found after a few minutes checking likely spots. Signed log, TFTC!
16 April 2023 3:00 pm had to wait for a posse of teenage boys on bikes to depart these rapids before retrieving. Approached from wrong side at first and had the mechanism rather than the cache. Approaching fron the other side gave the ahh moment.
While waiting for an appointment I went on a short Rolleston Ramble to find a few caches. Thanks for replacing this clever cache. I spotted an item of interest on approach and was happy to find that that was the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
Thanks for the cache. Looked last Saturday couldn't find it. Glad there was a pencil as didn't have a pen. Was obviously a bit of effort to place
We looked for quite a while and had a pretty good idea of what we were looking for. Searched and searched then suddenly there was a squeal of delight from Beeba that she had seen the cache. Just as well we brought M with us as he had to do the honours. Loved this cache even though the "pull gently" is not working. Not sure how it gets muggled though. A favourite point for an excellent idea and hunt.
The pull gently function is not working anymore but previous finders have done what they could I did likewise. TFTC
Really happy to finally change this blue frown to a happy yellow smile. New location to last time we were here. Spent along time at 0 and 1 meter with no luck. Broadened our search then oh my goodness there it is. Mrs C did the honours of retrieving cache so lytteltonwitch and us could sign log. Then carefully replaced as found. Thanks for this cache sosdd.
Took ages to find and this short person had trouble reaching it so thankfully there was a taller person with me
This one had me searching for a good while. Thanks to the CO for a good hide here. Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat
This was a clever one. About to give up then kozjah spotted it. Well done.
Nice to put a face on this cache after a DNF very cleaver hide definitely a favorite TFTC
Caching with purdiepurdie out this way today; we carefully read previous logs, and yes - . suddenly it was in view. pp did the honours, may have signed as KSI & pp.
Thanks for this cache and your efforts.

TFTC. Great fun was had. Took a wee while to locate but KSI and PP were up to the challenge.
Fav point from me

Took some searching but got it eventually. Clever placement, easy to see if you look in the right place. TFTC.
Here today to watch some hockey & came early to try & find a couple of nearby caches!! Clever! TFTC
DNF previously. Was back in the area so gave it another crack. Not having any better luck either... but then suddenly there it was. Found with Greg. Cheers.
I was just abouta give up. Then I found it out of the corner of my eye. Great hiding spot.
I almost walked straight past it and really struggled to narrow down GZ on this one. Had to go both sides of the ditch to find GZ. Once i found the right gap in the trees, it was smooother sailing. Cool cache and in good condition too. Back to the sport. Cool area. Find # 760
Yes! Finally found this one. We live nearby and it’s been taunting me for years. So glad to finally see it.
Missed this one last time but Grandy got it this time with miss Quinn 6 and master Blake 3
Having found my main target today (the Te Ara Atea multicache) it was time to sweep Rolleston clear of caching targets. This was 2nd visit to sign off this cache - it being AWOL back in Aug 2020 when I was last here. I fortunately had no problems this time. TFTC sosdd
Out with IceBerguson Jr on the last day of school holidays. Happy to finally tick this one off.
This is quite well done. Fits the area. Went at 9 as too many people before. But still plenty of people walking around. So sorry if goes missing
Bit of a frustrating one, the GPS was bouncing us all over the place but we found it eventually. "Pull gently" may need looked at for maintenance.
We navigated our way to the correct side of the water, and didn't take too long to spot the cache. Although we complied with the hint, and soon had the log in hand, unfortunately we were unable to get the cache to return to the position in which we found it. Still a favourite from us. TFTC
Yes there are a few DNF lately. However I can assure you it is still there. I check on this cache weekly when I'm at the park on a Sat and I make sure to double check after each DNF.
Took a while to find this one due to confusion on where to look because of location changes. Really impressed with the placement once I eventually spotted it
Spent 45 mins looking for it but wasn't sure what we were supposed to be pulling gently
Took a bit of time, but I had a fair idea what I was looking for. In the end a tell tale sign on the ground have it away.

Please note that the cache coordinates posted are for the new location. If you are working off old coordinates please don’t log a DNF for the old location ( it’s completely been destroyed- stump and all). Despite the last 2 DNFs this cache is still in its **NEW** hidey spot just waiting to be found.
too clever for me this evening. I blame being tired after working from early this morning and then the long drive down.
Coordinates changed from:

Coordinates changed to:

Distance from original: 297.6 feet or 90.7 meters.
This is the 3rd time I've had to replace so I've moved it to future proof it

I needed to find 6 caches today, in my personal challenge, to bring my finds total for the 18th August up to 26 and thus into a deeper shade of green on GC's Statistic Daily Finds Calendar.
This was the 3rd of 6 Rolleston caching stops I had planned. Add me to the list of DNFers. .I just wonder if the size of container has changed as well as the location.

Please note that this cache has been relocated to a new position after being destroyed by council removing the stumps. Please check new listing coordinates ( S 43° 36.607 E 172° 23.130 ), info, clue etc to find new cache. I’ve made it slightly more challenging so it hopefully won’t get disturbed again. As at 15th August cache is still safely in its new location.
Lucky for me I only live a few minutes away and can easily check the dnf’s. Please note this new cache has a new rating. I have made it more difficult to avoid any further loss of cache. GPS is a bit tricky due to tree cover but could get within 5m. Feel free to update if you get a closer reading. This cache is still where I placed it. I’ll be very surprised if this one disappears .
The Council have decided to stump grind away our cache spot so it’s completely gone. Will replace as soon as I can.
Well trying to casual and unsuspecting trying to retrieve this was certainly interesting
It was a case of Fined,Throw and Catch,as we had parked on the Roadside,so Womble Terry jumped across the Racing Waters and threw it over to me to sign, because he'd forgotten a Pen.lol TFTC
