People where here in a meeting so I walked on by
Came back and they were still here , all good sat and decided to wait them out. They soon moved on. I have a look around. Finally saw it but mmm mmm I grabbed it signed log and replaced.
As I walked off I saw security, they were checking me out maybe I was observed. I ambled over to my car and hopped in. Yep they still watching but seem to have turned around to head back

Looks like some gardening has happened recently and an easy find was had.

Happy to find this Bison amongst the greenery. It still took a few minutes despite knowing where this was placed.

It was to hard to find

After much deliberating over what cache I was going to go after today early on, I was sidetracked and promptly forgot all about it. When I did remember I had a scan of the map to see what needed DT was closest to me and promptly went after this. Coords are off, but I think most logs have suggested that, and what with all the tree cover will be expected. The hint however helped a fair bit but it seems accessing this a cache seems to be where the difficulty lies. Or more so, replacing the lid, with big sausage sized fingers.
Signed off but struggles to replace, but did so after photographing the log for prosperity. Still a few spots to fit names in on that log. Thanks Geocaching Townsville. Enjoyed the find.
Ha ha. After checking my DT grid, I found I did a rookie error and entered the T where the D should be. What a gumby.

overlooked at first, got on our bikes then thought to return and have a last look and there it was.
Coords where a bit off, but anyway great cache.

Couldn't look for this yesterday as from afar we could see a couple of people at GZ. When we got closer a whole heap more were arriving... in fact they probably thought we were part of the group. So that was a definite no to looking for the cache yesterday. Got it no problems today. TFTC GeocachingTownsville.

Tankengine, Youban and I had another day of a caching fun planned for today around Townsville.

This cache: Found quickly as we looked at the hint. Coords had me at the wrong side for a while. So we sat spotted each of the items hinted and found the cache instantly. Tftc!!!

TheTownsville Mega Event finished but having another week in town to do more caching & sight seeing.
A morning out with the Snakepitters, back out towards the dam wall.
On returning back to suburbia we toured the area using a caching trail.
Today we found some great themed caches & some very clever hides.

After my morning paddle, M and I decided to bring our lunch to the Riverway lagoons for a picnic and a swim. We were heading back to the car when we noted this area was deserted for a change. A quick find with the hints but I had to rush to get it back when M spotted some muggles approaching.

As we are remaining in Townsville following the Mega, due to repair works required on the car, we are out on the bikes taking the opportunity to look around the town and pickup those caches that we pass. Still bloody hot.

It was very dark by now, but that was good because it meant the area was completely empty with no muggles around! There were some people hanging out closer to the carpark, but they had their own table set up and weren't anywhere near the cache!

Thanks to such specific hint, even in the dark I found this cache instantly!

**Today:**

Day 14 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!

Today was an early start at 6:30am to fit in the last caches for the trip for sebass19 before he had to catch a mid-morning flight!

It was then back to caching solo for me, I started off with a very hot hike near the Breaking Bad series, grabbing a couple challenges and the first few puzzles in the series itself.

I then headed over to the RRPT series where I met up with the "MEGATRONS" to get a cache that needed a special TB to access it which they had obtained, that was a success and I started to find more high terrain caches nearby before having my earliest night of the trip as exhaustion was starting to catch up to me!

Unfortunately the BBQ area was occupied.

So we had to leave this one.

With a goal of collecting 150 caches in a day, our plan was to tackle both geoarts, hit the RRPT and collect some other caches in between. An early start was in order to achieve this goal before getting ready for the Trivia night at the MEGA.
A huge thank you to all the COs for preparing and placing the caches we collected today, the variety of hide locations, types and containers was fantastic.

The day had come; the plan to get 150 caches (excluding labs) in a day for another challenge was here. The planning and prep started two months ago when I was at the Wangaratta mega. With the recent zoom events for puzzle solving a big help and the Geoarts of the saint and the book catering for two thirds of the task, it was just a matter of finding 50 more caches so as I was able to complete. Today I had Willis007 with me; we picked on a few quick easy finds as we were passing and motoring between arts. We then grabbed the bikes and went for a ride around along the Ross river parkway or is that power trail.

The Geoarts were found easy and thank you. The book art did slow us down a little with some hides a little tuff to find. the power trail was fun some good caches and some that also slowed us down. However, by the end of the day we were done and the challenge completed.

Thanks to my caching buddies, the CO’s for the caches and the great areas I got to see today.

Made that harder than it needed to be. Out exploring the Townsville tourist trail whilst at the mega. This is a lovely spot for a morning coffee. Tftc

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 6. Townsville Mega section Day 6. For today I started caching with TikvaNZ for a section of the RRPT. I was on my e-scooter and we had a great time out in the sun visiting interesting locations along the river, some were a bit to much for us today. After lunch I caught up with Kittly Katch, Joolay, Isopeda and Barb2e for some pole caching. Sometimes this was quite a challenge. The day ended with a trip back to Ross River for a pre Mega dinner with heaps of people I have not seen for ages. A great way to get the Easter weekend started.

Day 6 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. Today was mostly Ross River Power Trail caches by bike. This morning Albida33 and I joined forces to tackle the section from the Riverway lagoons heading upstream. Cache found in good condition, after a few minutes of searching. TFTC.

Mum spotted this one and was able to make a quick grab.
Sat at the chairs while we signed and finished eating lunch before mum was able to put it back unseen.

Found it last night but forgot to log took me a little while because I (as usual) was looking in the wrong spot. TFTC!

it took a little while but persistence paid off in the end and the cache was located.

Down at Riverway with the boys for a swim. Decided to grab this cache while heading back to the car. Found the cache easily as I remember the Echo House cache that was located near by from years ago. Retrieved the log and sat down at the table to sign when the sprinkler system activated. Managed to sign the log with Wolffman05 and return it without getting wet. TFTC.

A pleasant walk along the river with many muggles but a bit of stealth and by following the hint a quick find was to hand.

After searching and searching. We finally made the find.

Great spot, a bit off with the coordinates but found after a bit. TFTC!

We had a very mixed day out caching today. We decided to head back to the trails on the Ross River and work our way further south as well as take some side diversions to collect additional caches and pre-solved puzzles. We found a variety of hides and encountered some differing types of caches as well and had a few DNFs.
The tails are on well defined and surfaced track so are great for bike riding. And no real hills! A real bonus.
The day started coolish and humid, good for riding, but once we reached the dam wall trail it began to appear a bit bleak. We pressed on regardless, but only got half way through before the heavens opened and it began to rain quite heavily. Very unusual for this time of year the locals tell us!
We decided to abandon the trail at this time and returned to the car getting thoroughly soaked by the time we got there. At least we weren't cold though.
Hopefully weather permitting we will be able to return and complete the series before we move on.
Our thanks to the local COs for their work on developing the caches. It is most appreciated.

This is the 3rd of 3 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]

We spent quite some time here but couldn't locate your cache. Hopefully it's just "cache blindness", so here's a DNF from us.

After confirming the general location during a recent event, I was finally able to locate this one. Approached it this time from the exposed side and made an instant find.

After a nearby event KerriMG and I headed over here for a look. With sets of eyes we were able to locate the well hidden cache. TFTC GeocachingTownsville

Came back after message to co looked at those area yesterday trick colour and shade. Got signed and returned same place TFTC

Searched here 3 times in 2 days still can’t find seems tricked me will try again tmrw.

What an awesome day for an adventure, out and about in TSV with BenM70 and Jezza. Decided to pull in after Jezza’s 1st game of the season for a quick dip. Got a quiet chance to pick up this little find. Great hints as GPS was not on target today...TFTC GeocachingTownsville

I saved this for a rainy day as I knew of it from BenM70’s event. I was so glad as it is literally a rainy day. The little bit of shelter was very appreciated.

Walked past and there was a muggle with a tablet, went and found another 6 caches, came back and she was still there, must be free wifi or something. Didnt attempt cache.

I've upped the difficulty rating accordingly.

Had a good look around for about 20min on my knees but couldnt find it.

Pretty sure DeBomb has a good case what with the blank log sheet. Had no chance with this FtF as i was searching around the undergrowth about 10 metres away, that has been cut back now. Without a clue i wouldn’t have found this.

Not sure if we claim FTF. But clever hide. Took a bit of thinking but had to be wary of muggles. Do not over think this cache. TFTC.
