A travelling turtle has now joined me on my adventures and it can help me find the caches. Slowly but surely.A quick find while surrounded by some fans TFTC DuntulumKeep smiling
Never stopped to actually hear them! They are so loud. The kids and I love them. I cant see why so many have a problem with them really.. anyways, thanks for the cache and the cacher who left the 3D print. IllBe using it. Its amazing!
Quick easy find on way home to SA left a little 3D print cache as a gift to a finder TFTC
I've never stopped and seen these thing up close like this before. It's amazing the amount of noise they produce. Just wished someone would turn a few off as it was pretty windy out there
I was spending a few days in St Arnaud while on my way to the Leap Year Mega in Adelaide when i had planned a day trip to Dimboola to get the caches in that area. Thank you Duntulum for placing and maintaining this cache.
Tftc; found on a weekend roadtrip to Murray Bridge and back with lilbassgirl. Logging all caches day after end of trip; individual logs done by lilbassgirl previously with me driving between caches, sights, accomodation and the show we went to.

Sunday morning, with an early start for the day - heading to Horsham, after a few days in Murray Bridge with fellow Victorians Suscoe. The drive being punctuated by a number of detours and "rest stops" to cache our way.
This type of farming intrigues us.
Had trouble accessing the cache as it had fallen out of reach.
Thanks to duntulum for adding this cache to the gameboard.

We wanted to stop for a photo - thank goodness there was a cache here! I’m a big fan of this drive TFTC
Well there was an event I saw published in Bordertown hosted by Roaming Howie and since I was able to have 4 days off I decided to head over to attend the event and then to also do a few of the On Ya Bike series to finish off my D/T loop.
Throw a few oldies into the mix for my Ausmer grid and it was going to be a busy weekend with lots of Km’s.
Hopefully these wind turbines are going to be part of our future electricity needs and the outlay at what ever cost will help our environment survive in the future.
Great to see some up close.
Big things are continuing to happen! Are you joining the fun again in 2023?

Silo Art Trail tours and Finding your cache Duntulum, thank you so much for placing it.
A quick find after a short trek through the mud. Blowing a gale, all the spinny things spinning. Thanks for the cache Duntulum
Day twenty one of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
First day traveling home from Tailem Bend to Donald.
Collected a few odd caches on the way.
BB started counting the towers and stopped after 40 and there heaps more. So they are well on their way to 116.
Couldn't drive down the short road to GZ as it was slippery grey mud. Nearly went AO walking on it.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19515. Day 21 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. Sadly, we are making our way home today - from Tailem Bend to Donald. Collected only a few caches on the way in wet and muddy conditions.
Yes it sure was windy out here today and wet, and slippery to get to GZ. The container had fallen way, way down but fortunately Rob spied it and was able to retrieve it. Shoudn't need quite such long arms for the next finder.
Thanks Duntulum

Its blowing a gale and raining cats and dogs tonight, the turbines should be producing plenty of power tonight.

Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
Duntulum, I found Windy Farms today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Found it Tftc and thanks for the info on the wind turbines. They are huge with only about half in operation today. Greetings from Adelaide
Wangaratta Mega
Day One: Adelaide to St Arnaud.
It’s my birthday and I’m treating myself to a frivolous road trip to Wangaratta in a quest for a rare cache type!
At this point, the weather took a turn for the worse (see photo). The wind has really picked up, but only half of the turbines are operating. A quick sprint back to the car just as the rain was starting.
Thanks Duntulum.

Quick find on the way past! Very soft to drive down - definitely park on the
It was a good time to pick this cache up with the wind blowing quite fiercely we saw and heard the gigormous turbine blades whirling and creating energy.
Thanks Duntulum for the placement here.
Thanks Duntulum for the placement here.
The container went astray out into the grass but we stumbled across it and gave it a sheltered home.
I love turbines and perhaps these are some if the very best I have seen. All lined up in the rows so neatly spinning away. A narrow flat road but very quiet to drive and nice to be out away from the traffic as I cut through finding the quickest route for my very long day. Cache was an easy find given it was out in the open but only a little so clear where it belonged. Thanks for the cache.
TFTC. We were in the area doing a rather large loop from Rupanyup, traversing where necessary to collect caches in this area. Thanks Duntulum. We have wind farms in our area as well, but we have usually found them on raised ground. First time we have seen them on the flat. Certainly a large farm of windmills
First cache find in a while. Didn’t even have a pen!!

Wow, talk about the middle of nowhere. Found with tassie expat while exploring this nice area. A good opportunity for a photo of the windmills, thanks for placing this cache.
frmen1 and I are doing the back roads today. Ground very soft on the track. Found quickly. We have a wind farm near us, but not to this scale. I love the whoosh whoosh noise they make. TFTC
Great drive past the windy farms to get to this cache. Had been raining so when we drove down the little side road we were slipping and sliding. Cant get used to these Victorian roads when they get wet! Located the cache a bit of a distance from where I guessed it was supposed to be - looks like some animal had a bit of a nibble on two edges, but fortunately all still good inside. Replaced in a position as suggested by the clue, but not sure if it was the right place???. Grabbed TB Roving Roy.
I've seen this wind farm from the Western Highway - nice to get a closer look at it today. I had the road to myself and made the easy find before hitting the road again. TFTC.

Managed a quick stop n grab and got a couple of interesting photos too.
Driving through here, it really shows the size of these massive turbines.

The three of us were heading on a road trip back to Adelaide from Northeast Victoria. We stopped here on the way to find this one.
Mr Tardis saw a big lizard retreat into the near by log, and then found the cache in the first place he looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Sorry it has taken us a year to log. 2020 wasn't a normal year, and planning our 2021 trip we realised we hadn't logged this one from almost a year ago.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache duntulum.

Day 3 St Arnaud Mega
Today was a much lower numbers day as we had done all the 'mega' trails. So it was about quality over quantity and of course you have to leave some for next time, right?! I still have a few FUF T&C trails to come back for, plus way too many puzzles!
We went back for more coffees and sandwiches from the Dabbling Duck, we did like their coffee! Fueled up in town for the journey back home too.
So JJ52 and I did a few randoms and then headed into the forest to do the O&A series which was great! We had also planned on doing the TLT series but just not enough time.
Then back into town for a few more random caches, several of which JJ52 had found on a foray with other cachers earlier in the week. Then it was off to the GIFF and then the big long drive back to Adelaide. Luckily the company was good and LiB and I chatted all the way back to Murray Bridge, it was a much 'safer' drive than the one over!!!
All up it has been a most excellent weekend and I am extremely grateful to all the cachers who placed hides for us to find and the awesome Mega committee for putting on such a great 'show', brilliant.
This was the last find for the day. LiB and I stopped here and then hot footed it back to Adelaide. TFTC duntulum!

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out, walking the conservation park, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today was the long day of driving from Adelaide to St Arnaud, and it was just Freddo and me in this car. Only a few geocaches found today, and only started looking once we drove through Dimboola, and then Donald - I guess we were saving ourselves for the weekend ahead.
This was our first whilst in the state of Mexico. Some interesting wind farms around. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache duntulum.

Round and round they go.
Twelve months ago as we finished the Parkville Mega we were advised by someone that the next Victorian Mega event would be held in Saint Arnold. Somebody else told us that the Mega event would be held in Saint Arnood. And then another said that Saint Arned was the Mega event venue. Who should I believe? Struggling to understand the English language at the best of time. Freddo speaks two languages, Australian and Bad English.
Move forward a year. There is a cluster of events, including a MEGA event, at this town called St Arnaud burning a hole in my GPSr. The big white Pay Hero is loaded with GPSr, TOTT and camping gear and we headed east with a collaboration of like minded South Australian colleagues. DavidWazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, freddo and Gridge98 make team DEFF98.
Thursday: 5am event at a bakery in North Adelaide. The bed wetter team meets and says that this is way too early. Travel 500km east for the Thursday evening event. Freddo gets a prize. I am no mug. Camping in the bush under the stars.
Friday: Up early and headed out on the trails. And then back to our campground for a CITO! I am sure we did not make that much mess last night. More trails and 200 caches find for the day including a cluster of caches where freddo left DNA. More bush camping after a great meal in the Sporting Club.
Saturday: Up early for an event. Who puts an event on at 8am. Damn South Australians that’s who. After the event it was back on the trails and the Pay Hero is getting dustier and dustier. Found some awesome caches. Freddo the metallurgist was very impressed with the welding. Quality fabrication. And then another CITO. This time at the dump. Plenty of rubbish here. Some of it good stuff. Can I take some home? And finally a giant queue for a free meal. Nothing attracts a crowd like a free meal. The moment of the evening was receiving a Hall of Fame nomination. That prize is going straight to the pool room.
Sunday: Another night camping in the bush. Some fabulous night caches walks were undertaken. Night caching is a special form of entertainment. We spent the day cruising around picking up the left over unfound caches and meeting heaps of new friends. Boycotted the GIFF event since it did not show the freddo film “Cache Confusion” https://vimeo.com/372568752. One minute and forty four seconds of your life you won’t get back. A quick speech and it was back on the road for home. Well Horsham. More camping. This time by a river.
Monday: Caches around Horsham and following the Duke’s Highway back to Adelaide. Time for a shower for this smelly geocacher. An exhausted chocolate frog slept well.
We came, we cached, we ate, we slept; repeat for five days of fun and dust.
Easter 2020 sees South Australia hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

I was on my way to St Arnaud for the Mega weekend and stopped off here to find my only cache on the trip over. Having the van on the back makes caching a little difficult and I was keen to get there and get set up ready for a full few days. [^]
Once I had found the right log the cache was found and my stamp added to the log.
It was interesting to see and hear the windmills so close to the road.
Thanks for the cache duntulum.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

A quick stop off here, cache is all good
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

Staying in St Arnaud for the week for the mega, the lovely Geoturtle37, Papi4506 and I decided to make a day trip over here to make some more smilies.
I find them ever so graceful, peaceful.
Thanks for the placing and maintaining this cache, duntulum

After 2 DNF’s in earlier caches I’ve realised I’m not a complete failure at this game. Nice easy find here. Those wind turbines are going their job today. Now onwards towards home after a week away in Horsham TFTC Duntulum
Found with Becca85 & Boo09 on our way to Dimboola for an annual extended family event.

Heading to Bendigo for the weekend for a family wedding I decided to pick up a few caches along the way. All caches were found in good condition, all in some rather beautiful spots.

Found during a visit to Horsham for the week. Today I headed north to complete a circuit of the area, enjoying the driving, the scenery and the caching! Thanks for the cache duntulum!
Found today while on our way to the farm. You can actually see these from the front gate, hard to miss really but they sure are impressive to watch going up. No problem locating the cache, thanks duntulum for the hide and for highlighting the area.
Suscoe's second day of caching in Horsham and the countryside around this region.
Another brilliant Winter's day.
Sunshine all day with a breeze from the north. The car said 17 was the top temp but it felt warmer at times.
Quiet locations for the caches that we visited and lots of fun as we wandered the back roads of this region.
Thanks to duntulum for this hide, they are pretty big up close and we were surprised to see them in such neat rows as we have only seen them in scattered formations elsewhere.
