We had a very mixed day out caching today. We decided to head back to the trails on the Ross River and work our way further south as well as take some side diversions to collect additional caches and pre-solved puzzles. We found a variety of hides and encountered some differing types of caches as well and had a few DNFs.
The tails are on well defined and surfaced track so are great for bike riding. And no real hills! A real bonus.
The day started coolish and humid, good for riding, but once we reached the dam wall trail it began to appear a bit bleak. We pressed on regardless, but only got half way through before the heavens opened and it began to rain quite heavily. Very unusual for this time of year the locals tell us!
We decided to abandon the trail at this time and returned to the car getting thoroughly soaked by the time we got there. At least we weren't cold though.
Hopefully weather permitting we will be able to return and complete the series before we move on.
Our thanks to the local COs for their work on developing the caches. It is most appreciated.
On a GC trip with Drennostar around Townsville while visiting family.
Having a stroll through this lovely area! We're very impressed with this park!
A quick grab while watching for muggles using the walking track. Thanks for bringing us here!

Hi there GeocachingTownsville.
This is the 1st of 3 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]
We spent quite some time here but couldn't locate your cache. Hopefully it's just "cache blindness", so here's a DNF from us.
Regards
Ian and Penny

Found it 3:50pm 15/3/2020. Was easy and has a lovely view of the river and a nice breeze.
Found strolling around with my geo-sisters tinylemongrass and kittkatt044. TFTF!
In the early hours of Saturday, the 2nd of November 2019 I got one of those phone calls from your mum that you don’t ever want to get. My brother had attempted suicide and was in the ICU of the Townsville hospital, and he wasn’t expected to survive. By the 3rd of November I was joining his wife and kids, my mum, my dad and my sister around my brother’s bedside. Through the following week I would use my geocaching to explore Townsville, to clear my head and to be just by myself to cry.
My brother had died 2 days ago and so I spent today at his place with his wife and kids and my mum and dad and my sisters. Cooked some snag on the BBQ and just enjoyed a chat and the memories. By the time we left I was emotionally drained and so decided I’d head out to grab some caches as it always perks me up.
Another short break in the traffic and the find was mine. TFTC!

We were down this way and wanted to find a GC. We are so blessed with this beautiful river Thanks for the cache.
Tftc. Might need to be repainted soon. The paint is wearing off which is showing the bright colors. Might be a problem if not replaced properly
