Something special or unusual goes here:After spending way too long at the last cache for a DNF is was great to have a quick find here. The Generic Bit:The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Day 3: The Crawl from Sunbury to EchucaTwo days of traveling over from S.A. and three days of Events, numerous Adventure Labs, lots of fun, mishaps, and even a few caches found as we crawled around in search of smilies. My companions for the Crawl were Muff1. So Good to catch up with lots of caching friends. [:X]***Thanks The Morris for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Brisal5 and ourselves had made the decision to attend 'The Great Victorian Cache Crawl' , with Brisal5 arriving at our home on the Thursday evening. The journey started Friday morning with both of us picking up the odd cache as we travelled towards Riddell Creek for the prequel event and then onto Sunbury for our overnight accommodation. The first event of the official weekend was at Maccca's and the excitement was building, then it was time to find caches and AL's along the road and onto Malmsbury for morning tea. Unfortunately it had started to rain with umbrella's and rain jackets out in force. The next stop was Bendigo where we were warmed up with micaparmedic's fantastic soup, thank you, here we caught up with friends and the usual geocaching chatter was all around us. I am sure you have the gist of how our weekend went, finding caches, chatting, eating all this on a loop until we arrived in Seymour for the final goodbyes. We cannot thank the committe enough for this exceptionally well organised weekend. All the caches and AL's that we found were all in good condition and not requiring any maintenance. SL TFTC
The old winch is very impresssive indeed. Thanks for dragging me up here for a fun find.
A fun loop around the area with deanside. Good to meet a couple of other geocachers over the last few days. A quick stop off on the way home from work was in order today. A quick search at GZ initially proved unsuccessful for what I thought should be a pretty quick finda step back to assess the issue & after identifying another way to approach the find I quickly found the cache in my hands. Logbook is damp but still easy to write on & still with plenty of room.
What a great place, tucked away like so many of Bendigos treasuresThanks The Morris for showcasing this area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Out in the Bendigo area in the ever trusty PueGEOt to find some caches. Ignore the well worn track at the front.TFTC
Quick find. Great to visit this old poppet head. Cache in good condition.
After our quick trip home we arrived back in Bendigo last night, looking forward to a bit more relaxed time with a mixture of caching and sightseeing. It was raining overnight but fine this morning so we took the opportunity to get out after fixing the HWS. Mainly a mixture of multis and puzzles.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache The Morris.**SKI Pair****
Found with Grubbs1337 and ITWimdy. ??A great day out with Dad and his mate. Thanks for the cache ??
A lovely quick find where 4yo enjoyed exploring.I was just thinking how unlikely an encounter with muggles would be, when sl.e appeared, seemingly from nowhere, taking photos of the beauty in decay.TFTC
Find#6375Nice hiding place What a epic road trip exploring Australia Thanks for the cache
Thanks for bringing me to this interesting site and sharing the history of the mine. Amazing to learn of what they achieved in the pursuit of gold! Found the cache in the obvious spot, it was a scramble initially as I seached on the down hill side of the hide before I twigged a more obvious and less scratchy approach. Thanks to The Morris for the cache, which is in very good order BTW
A very quick find bu Mrs Shifter on our day around town before heading to Tasmania. Thanks for the hide The Morris.
Came back to look for this one after a DNF and have no idea why we didnt see it the first time
Walked around the area a couple of times but found it pretty easily when I looked in the right spot. Tftc
Found on a sunny winter's day. Thanks The Morris for the adventure. Cache and log is good condition.
Our last cache for today as the sun slowly sinks in the West. SL at 5.28pm Left: blue bug - maybe he is a dung beetle and will clean up some of that decaying stuff! #10020 TFTC The Morris
Thanks The Morris, Nice one. Enjoying my week in Bendigo working, discovering some lovely walks & a few caches.
Found on my way to a chiro apt. After faffing around at home most of the day, I now find myself short on time......
A beautiful sunny winter's afternoon. Thanks for bringing me up here.

Nearly missed it, as I’m dressed for this afternoon’s performance! In Bendigo for the weekend as part of Melbourne Opera’s massive Wagner Ring Cycle. I’m filling in time before we start, so here I am finding some local caches. TFTC
Love the name of this series, will keep an eye out for others in the series.
Visited the nearby reserve to learn all about the mining history of the area. Having climbed the poppet there the kids were keen to explore another one (although disappointed they couldn't climb this one). Nice easy find. TFTC

Great location with some really interesting history. We enjoyed wandering among the ruins and seeing what was. The cache was harder to get to than it was to find. All good. Tftc.
This was a quick find. Our timing wasn’t good as a muggle and his dog appeared as I was retrieving the container. Nice poppet head nearby. Thanks to The Morris for the cache.
In Bendigo getting geocar serviced and headed out to find a few caches. Wow what a great location. Didn't even know it was here. Geogirl had great fun exploring here. Cache found. Log is a bit damp but able to be signed. TFTC.
Camping at Newbridge for the long weekend, we decided we would nick across to Bendigo to check out the markets, then visit the Victoria Hill Historical Area. Unlike Mickey Mouse Hill, there were no other people up on this hill today. Certainly lots of old stuff here to admire. Cache found easily and in good condition. TFTC The Morris.
Tried a few different access points, didn’t help I was dragging along the dog. But we eventually got into the correct space

Staying up at Castlemaine for the weekend and I mentioned to GemmaSistema that I would be staying up this way, so Gemma made a trip up to here and we met up in the morning and then spent a fantastic day around the outer suburbs of Bendigo.
Plenty of laughs, Bush tracks, a couple of Lab caches thrown in and of course lots of other caches found along the way, ending with a couple of pizzas for tea in the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens
A great day out was had.
Another cache that my co pilot and navigator has found previously so I was told in no uncertain times that she was staying in the air conditioned Geocruiser and this one is up to me again.
I did not realise how many poppet heads still exist around the Bendigo area.
Plus another great view.
Thanks The Morris TFTC.

In Bendigo for Christmas with the relies and out today to check out some local sites and pick up some caches to fill another day on the caching calendar. In all the years we have been coming to Bendigo we did not know this area existed. Thanks to good coordinates we were able to make a quick easy find. TFTC, the history and bringing us to this spot.

Nice spot, i have never even noticed this structure here before, thanks for the new place to explore
A nice little view up here on a miserable morning, pen wasnt working so tried to scratch the initials in, thanks
Reasonably nice quick and easy geocache, nice walk around GZ.
Probably worth noting that you do need to bring your own pen to this one as the pen supplied has unfortunately run out.

We met a local when we arrived and he gave us the history of the area and pointed out a couple of places of interest which we did explore, before getting down to the business of finding the cache. Lovely man.
No problems locating the cache.
Thanks for the interesting history lesson The Morris.
