Beautiful morning by the lake. Visiting family locally and came for a stroll today after Parkrunning here yesterday. Good find, thanks.
I had walked past this cache many times while it was under construction and it became one that I kept an eye on and was determined to get soon after the construction was finished. Well, I noticed it had finished the area was no longer fenced off and had some plans to come before or after work. However, muggles on the platform prevented my search for the cache each time I came by. Finally, after a long day of caching across South Canberra today, I decided to drop by and see if I would finally have the area to myself. Thankfully I did and I made a nice quick find! Worth the wait, it's a beautiful spot!Thank you TE for the cache!
Well I walked a fair way finding a few caches around the lake, and I thought it would be nice to finish off the days search here where I used to love coming when I was little, but there was one small problemUnfortunately Im not in the mood for a swim but Ill add this to my to-find list for as soon as (if?) the jetty is back in operation.
Checked on this today, and it was still tucked nicely in its hidey hole where it belonged.
GOOD TO GO!!!

Nice stroll lakeside, and plenty of people watching. I honed in on this one quickly, coords spot on.
Nice clean log sheet too!
Thanks so much Tankengine . And for getting me out and about, and for highlighting this spot which is very beautiful on a summer evening

Yaaay. Thought it was missing at first. Great hide. Down from the GC visiting our son.
Great enjoyed day today but strong windy, and walked to gz, took me little a while..
Something spot , got it… signed it with good dry.. TFTC

If my neck spun at 360 degrees we would have spotted this cache much sooner. I overthought things as usual at GZ and was looking in much harder spots than I needed to. Beautiful winter's day on the foreshore. TFTC TE.
A lovely afternoon spent at the library with the boys we decided to pop out and grab this one.
Having been out of the ca hung scene for a while it is nice to get back into it.
I think today we managed to claim six or so.
Cache took some funding but managed to get our names in the log.

Came on a nice cool Saturday morning so not many people around. Still took an effort before lxndscxpe made the find just as we were about to give up.

Decided to swing past after work and have a go at this one. GZ was rather occupied so ducked in to maccas briefly, after Gz was clear. Quick search, and came up with the goods, thanks!
Didn't have a pen handy, but found it after a few minutes of searching. Really struggled to screw the cap back on to put it back in its place!
I was surprised but thankful that I had this spot to myself this morning. Coordinates were spot on allowing for a quick find. Cheers Tankengine.
Nearly gave up searching this spot, very happy I gave it 2 more seconds of feeling around
Out with Barb2e for a ride around the lake. This took us a while, but Barb2e eventually spotted it. I had checked that space on the other side, but not here.

Spent maybe 10 minutes looking. Saw a bit of wire hanging but nothing on it. Might be there and we just missed it.
I was out to get the vaccine, and then got subway and sat down in a grassy area, and decided to go geocaching! Thanks for the cache!
Searched for half an hour with no muggles in sight, found some wire but no cache- dad hates micros!

Easy for some. Hard for me. Spent a good half hour looking for this one. And significant portions of the jetty with a fine tooth comb.
When I finally did make the find I realised that my head had been with in inches of the cache at least 4 times with out realising.
Tricky hide TS.
Thanks

Headed to GZ for this cache. Found after looking around. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Tankengine. All good with this cache.
On our way home from picking up the car. With RoddyC and Team benders.

Flying trip to Canberra. Got this one to complete the four Tuggeranong Tides caches.
Tftc! Beautiful spot. Came here many times when i was in college at LTC, so it's very nostalgic for me
The last day of this long weekend started with a very active event with lots of people, then a bit of caching around Tuggeranong Ton Center with Joolay.
I have done a cache here before and it was a hard find then. Today, even with a previous finder, it took a bit of finding. I am glad it was all quiet down here today.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine

After not finding as many caches in Forrest as we intended, we still had to goto the hardware store, so we headed down to Tuggeranong, grabbed some lunch, and while we were eating, checked the phone and this one was only a couple of hundred meters away.
We headed over, and the lakeside was deserted which made it easy to scope out the GZ - and after only about 30 seconds, I spotted a familiar silhouette - I zeroed in, retrieved and signed the log, and the cache was done - another Tuggers Tides in the bag.

Well, this one took a bit of finding. But with less muggles about early on Sunday morning, and two GeoKids helping to look from every angle, we spotted the sneaky hide and the youngest GeoKid soon had CIH. Thanks, Tankengine!
Found @ 2:11pm on a quick caching run
Had DNF'd this back in August last year with hccatcher when half the container and the log was missing.
Had to wait out some muggles who asked me to take a photo of them before I could put our names on the log.
Thanks Tankengine
This was the 1st of 9 caches found today

Struggled with this one despite having the geo wife and geo mum in law to help. Had one round and thought we saw remnants, but with the help of the CO, was coaxed back for a second look. Flying solo this second time, managed to track down this tricky little bugger.
Thanks!
Thanks!
On the hunt for my 200th Tankengine find. Had the area to myself tonight. Stood back considered my options and found reasonably quickly. Two down, one to go. TFTC
Took us a few mins of discussion to triangulate onto a certain spot and then an aha! moment later cache was in hand. Bit chilly today near the water. TFTC
Nobody around today so we thought we’d give this one a try. Having got the previous one at this location, checked there first. Nope not there. A bit more searching and shinydragon suggested a location. Bingo! TFTC!
Given we were thwarted by the presence of muggles at both TTii and TTiii, it was most surprising to have the little jetty to ourselves... no muggles at last! A petrol motorboat roared past, definitely going at more than 10knots, seems they were on a Maccas run, as we saw them putting in on the other side... spoiled the ambience somewhat. And even more surprising was how quickly I found the cache... most unusual for me. It was a bit tricky retuning the cache, someone had put the o-ring around the log itself, and I couldn't manage to put it back where it was supposed to be, around the cap. So I hope I did get it all screwed up enough. TFTC TankEngine
I was clearly not experienced enough last time i came and found this cache a pretty easy find today TFTC!!
Passing by on the Mountain bike, no-one around, took the opportunity and rode over the hump, clackty clackty rattle, parked the bike, first place I looked. Signed and then rode out of there Clac......... TFTC.
I've been waiting for an opportunity to look for this cache since it was published and finally today a few things fell into place - not the least of which was finding GZ devoid of human kind (except for myself - and there are some that would argue that point ).
The cache fell under my gaze after a short search and has most certainly not blown away! (has a Tankengine cache ever blown away?!!)
TFTC, Tankengine

I'm pretty sure I've spotted where it was supposed to be but there is only the wire and not the cache itself, I think it may have been knocked off in the strong winds yesterday
#10067 - 14:40; Dropped the geohoney off to a party and set off for a few caches to fill the afternoon. This was the first stop after grabbing a coffee at Maccas. A bit damp and only had the iPhone, which kept leading me astray. A quick PAF got me back on track and I soon had the cache in hand. Must come back for the rest of the series! TFTC Tankengine
Found on a nice caching run out Tuggeranong way. One of the aims of today was to grab some of the nearby labs but I also wanted to finish off this lakeside series. Parked at Macca's and then took a lovely stroll to GZ - I thought I knew this area well, but I've never ever visited this platform before! A quick find at GZ - nicely hidden! A beautiful, unique view of the other side - loved the series for this reason! TFTC TE!
Found while out with dty73 and Tankengine. Having had some food and drink near by it was just a short walk to collect this one with the CO. Thanks for the Cache Tankengine. Kutgw
I see it therefore I technically found it. Too many muggles around on this semi post Covid19 Sunday to sign the log.

A plan was hatched to go for a drive with DSD and Loci612 today to visit Tidbinbilla that had just been reopened. The weather was beautiful and there were a heap of cars out here, although we didn't come across many people while walking where we went.
We personally have not been in here since 2011 so we have heaps to find in here so no doubt we will be back.
While picking up some sustenance at the popular big M location. I noted another cache close by that still looked lonely on our GPS. So turned the box into a smiley while Loci612 blocked the view from a muggle fishing close by.
Lots of trash out here... good place for a CITO I think.
Thanks for the hide Tankenginel

E E E E EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE [Found!] at 11:21!
Important caching day for clearing purposes. Got Tuggerong, Tuggerong hill and many other places today. TFTC everyone!
Now for some walking around Tuggerong getting some caches. Some really good ones around here.
The cache was harder than expected it took about 8 minutes of looking over the edge until I found it. Coords pointed me to the wrong place but aha! It was so much simpler than I thought. TFTC Tankengine. Dropped pen and couldn't sign so photo will be inserted soon.
BTW The attachment is broken.

Soooo, with all the "self- isolation" going on, Aquilus1 and my original plans for going further afield went up in smoke, but that was OK as we ended up going around Tuggernaong cleaning up the caches here and there that we were missing. There were a few that both of us had not found, and quite a few just one of us had logged previously.
Tuggeranong Hill was a feature, and I have to say I dont understand why it only gets the moniker "hill'... it felt much like Mt Taylor and the contour lines tell me they are roughly the same height.
We even found a letterbox, ammo can and all, with a PROPER stamp! none of this kids stamp set rubbish we have seen of late...
I was a little sad as I felt like a Goodberries today... I havent had one for maybe 10 years, its certainly been a while...but they are closed for the entire weekend. Always the way hey.
Sorry for the generic log, we did so many today....

It’s taken 3 goes over many weeks before I’ve finally found and logged this cache. First time muggles became a hinderance, 2nd time I found cache but had no pen ( a amateur cachers move) so finally today I had a few minutes to spare, so after tennis parked at library and made my move to GZ. Easy find on a great autumn day. Tftc
19,994. Found during a day cherry-picking caches around Canberra heading to a nice Milestone find.
Circumstances meant that I had today to myself to cache around Canberra building towards a big milestone find. Next find of the day. I headed for some cool refreshment as the day was getting pretty humid. This one was nearby. This was a fun cache to look for and discover. I looked from afar and spotted something. Getting closer I soon had CIH. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then I headed off to the next one.
Thanks Tankengine !!
