Nothing to see here, there was a spot that looked ideal for a cache, but we couldn’t see anything else. The view is amazing though!
Dnf after few minutes of searching everywhere with my muggle boyfriend David on Sunday walk there.
In Wanaka for a weekend of sightseeing and caching
This was our homeward bound trip.... we tried looking around but it remained elusive nothing was at the hint level..... left with no cache and a scratch under my eye
We will have to come back another day

We are having a day sightseeing and finding caches in the area.
Cache was easily found although we wondered if this is how the CO originally placed it.
Thank you drawp.

Thank you drawp.
We're hunting Tour caches and anything that's not slowing down our objective to much. It's early and the muggles are not yet on their bike. Thank you drawp
Goodbye to Hawea. This is the 9th of 10 finds. Thanks, you've been awesome. Surprised, as this has been found today, the only one of my journey so far.
First cache for 2021. Found on a wet day between rain showers! All good with the cache.
Find # 222 with Aros71. Very quick and obvious, cache in VGC. I left a pencil in the container. TFTC.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 86th of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we had stayed in Wanaka & were heading to Haast but needed to do some caches as we went ... a quick stop here to nab a few of these caches on this walkway ... just had to avvoid the 'muggles' ... good to add another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,820 for us.
Last cache today before packing up and heading back home for lawns and washing and then continue the summer break at Te Anau.
Quick find on my bike after a lovely ride around to John's Beach. Probably had not picked this up previously as no where near is handy to park at this time of the year.

Two years ago I was still living Nort Island and made a first visit to the South Island with a two nights stop at the camping in Hawea. This year the campground is almost empty and we have a beautiful spot with amazing views of the lake. Got up early to find some caches, this was number 2
After 2.5 years it is nice to come back to Lake Hawea with ita amazing scenery.
I had to do this one on the way back so that I could park a tad closer.
Cheers for the cache.

Staying in Hawea for a few days in the school holidays. After having spent the afternoon in Wanaka got dropped off at The Outlet and walked back to accommodation getting a couple of caches on the way. Tftc
Finished the walk from Albert town to hawea and got this while waiting for the ride. A nice cache with a good view. I will get the rest of these another day probably.

I enjoyed a lovely walk along lake hawea today. It's great to have all the caches along the way. It was great fun and made the walking more interesting. This was our first one. As I am using my phone to navigate and I didn't have reception here it was a bit tricky to locate the right spot. But I followed my instincts and found it. TFTC
First day of COVID19 level 2. Grt to be out and about again. Full time Motorhomer staying at the lovely Hawea motorcamp.
Found this on our Te Araroa thru-hike. First find of the day; headed to Wanaka tonight!
On our wonderful camper trip around this amazing country we visited so many beautiful places an stunning landscapes. A amidst these hills, mountains, beaches and grass lands were also a few boxes waiting for us to be discovered. This one was one of them.
Thanks for hiding

I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

Our last day in Wānaka and we hired cycles and rode from Hawea to Wanaka. All caches were quickly located thanks to good coordinates and great hints. Great views along the trail on a hot sunny day.
Nice easy find once I spotted the tell. Some great photo opportunities. I love Hāwea. Tftc.
Found but not before being attacked by a tree. Greetings from Scotland and TFTC
Took some time to find, it seems i'm lacking some practice but finally it was there. Nice place for a cache, the view is beautiful and the track starts. Although there's many liquor containers bottles and cans lying around so maybe a party spot or just the litter bin? Tftc
What a difference a week makes! After a week of atrocious weather cutting off Otago from the West Coast and Canterbury and threatening to flood Wanaka and Queenstown, today is beautiful!
KrystalKath and I are taking the opportunity to break our cabin fever with a geocaching walk along the Gladstone track.
This was an easy find while KK chatted to the nearby muggles as a distraction. TFTC

On my 3 week trip through this beautiful country I had a very rainy day today. Because my planned destination was closed due to flooding, I decided to walk along the Lake Hawea and find some caches. It was a nice walk and even on that cloudy day very cool. TFTC!
We parked by the Lake Hawea Hotel to take a photo of the fisherman sculpture. Then we walked to the cache from there. M saw the telltale geocachers sign before I even read him the hint.
Vacations 2019 - Road trip trough New Zealand
With Geoesposa, this was my 50th anniversary. 16 days, 4200Kms and a few hundreds smilles after, i was sure i saw nothing....
I liked everything, the friendly and civilized people, the way the country works, the roads and especially the natural beauty of New Zealand.
I fell in love....
I decided to go back in 5 years, I easily see myself living my last days somewhere lost in any stunning scenery of this wonderful country.
With the itinerary studied at home, the caches were the ones that were in the chosen places, and a few used to stretch the legs. It was decidedly not the most important on this trip. Of all the visited, only half a dozen did not appear, all being in good health except two or three.
I will use this generic log, not for disrespect of the owners, but due to the amount of caches visited. Here the majority of caches serve to show something beautiful (as it should be), not giving importance to the container.
My thanks to all the ownwers who, allied to the natural beauty of the country, have made this vacation unforgettable.

Found with Flumsy2 on a short walk. Parking at this end of town is a bit of a challenge! Thanks for placing.
Tftc after a bit of appropriate parking anxiety Spoonz2 and I found Welcome to Hawea... windy day... but now having coffee .. wind has died
While visiting Wanaka, we have taken some time out from the usual tourist things to find a few geocaches in the area. We have been having a great time exploring and partaking of some of the activities available.
Today, we found ourselves heading out to Cardrona to visit the historic Cardrona Hotel and then up to Lake Hawea for a stroll along the lake until the wind began to become a little too strong and cold for us to continue.
Thank you drawp for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Lovely walk in the sunshine. Clever hide. Here looking for gems for the mystery at the museum series. Tftc
A quick and easy find as we were leaving Hawea. Cheers
Easter holidays, and a road trip to Milford Sound. Time to start the trek home, via the West Coast. Off to Haast today, and again the weather started well on the East of the pass. Once we hit the West the rain started, and it sounds like it is set in for the rest of the day.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Found it! On a typically breezy (read blustery) Hawea day we thought we’d head out for a walk and find these four new caches. TFTC
Have now completed the whole length there and back. Around 14k? Has been a glorious day. Thanks for the caches along the way
We had a fantastic day walking along this trail, the weather was perfect and we managed to find all the caches we looked for. Thanks so much for bringing us here.
Found it after quite a lot of looking
Sneakily hidden but quite difficult to access
