Visiting Nelson for the night after attending a BMX event at the close by track. Of course we needed to grab a few caches. We were a bit concerned that this was going to take some time but luckily dad found in not too long. Geokid 8 declared that this is a favourite from us .
Found it . Like the camo. Soon located once the muggles and their dogs moved on. TFTC
came back today and removed my sheet of paper from wrong cache but could not find the real one. did not have much time so just writing a note as i am sure it was just cache blindness
My husband and i are staying at the Tahuna Beach Holiday park today as part of our 2 week vacation from Brisbane Australia around the south island. Today i hired a bike and enjoyed a ride around this lovely town finding some smileys along the way. This one did take a bit to spot and then there was no log book. I checked to see if i actually found that cache and it does match the photo so i added a log book. Hope this is ok and thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy. Made this a write a note until i go back and see if i can find the real cache. The CO let me know the photo was not the real one.
Out for an evening walk and detoured to grab this cache. Luckily it was low tide so easy to get to. Once at GZ and scratched around for a bit but then got down low and I spotted a little something.... there is was.... nice little cache!, TFTC
Walked across the estuary this morning from the campground and after quickly finding three caches this one turned out to be nada. Didn't find the "spoiler" photo to be of any use.
Found on our holiday with some people we just introduced to geocaching TFTCSL
Second time around, knew exactly what to look for. Still took me nearly 10 minutes to locate the little napper. But happy to turn blue into yellow now, tftc!
Found later in the day after the CITO.Day 4 of The Wellingtonians are back tour with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. After the last trip, with more caches for us to find, we decided we had to return. And, of course, there will be days of laughter, usually at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache SoBad.
(# 8225) On a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Day four is based around the Nelson environs. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. Another day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY. Thanks SoBad for bringing me here.
Back in June, four Wellingtonians (NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ and YetiNZ) came down to visit the Nelson region. We had such a blast that we decided to do it again, and here we are!During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find, which certainly applied to this cache.Day 4, our final day, and we felt like having a gentler sort of day targeting caches that we particularly wanted plus any others that we happened to be passing.today before we had to return the hire car and head back to the reality of home and work tomorrow. We had decided that we wanted to give something back to Nelson from our trip, so hosted a CITO to have a go at cleaning up some of the more inaccessible bits of Tahunanui Beach. But of course that would also allow us to find a cache or two along the spit such as this one.I was walking in the company of a few locals (thanks for your company) , which meant that it was always likely to be a quick find at GZ, and that was certainly the case. No issues here to report, and we were quickly back on our way again.Thank you for setting this one up.
2TF with NZDi. The last of GCHQ's Wheel of Challenges is out and we need to get 1000 points. As with pretty much all of the previous Wheel of Challenges, this necessitated a trip out of town and Nelson was the town of choice, mainly because of a couple of events we could go to this weekend, and also for the plethora of high favourite point caches. Our intention was to head across the hill on Friday morning, but NZDi decided she wanted to go on Thursday afternoon, this meant we could add another event to the list. We packed our caravan and put our e-bikes on the back of the ute and headed off.
After attending the Westies Event on Thursday night, on Friday we headed out on our e-bikes on the GTT north of Richmond towards Rabbit Island and targeted the high favourited pointed caches which abound the area. With that task successfully achieved and 500 points banked for the Challenge, yesterday's mission was in two parts. In the morning we headed in the other direction on the GTT towards stoke and once again targeted high FP caches, which bought our caching totals up to 900 for me and 950 for NZDi. In the afternoon, we headed out to Rough Island and just cached until we had exceeded the 1000 points required for the hard souvenir. Later in the evening we attended the event as the guest of the Wellington hosts and had an unexpected, for some, FTF opportunity.
Today we had to pop into Nelson to get some stuff from Torpedo7, the attend a CITO at Tahuna Beach. After joining up with the Wellington cachers, at the CO's Old School cache, we continued to pick up rubbish as we headed from one nearby cache to another. This was the third cache we had the benefit of finding thanks to the work of the Wellington cachers.
From here we headed back with our rubbish bags full for the CITO debrief.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. The only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the unfound geocaches in the area.
Day four of the trip started with a first to find, followed by a CITO and then another first to find. We stopped at a few other caches along the way, and this was one of them.
As we wandered the park here filling up our rubbish bags for the CITO event, we took a route past a few of the local caches in the area. A great way to spend a morning.
---
Thanks to SoBad for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

Second visit here.I Quickly found it on the ground this time.Left at the base of the tree.
Last day in Nelson with Supernannny and Net61.
After having a fish and chip lunch across the road from Tahunanui beach, we revisited gz for a second look of the cache.
This time we made a quick find of a well camouflaged cache. We found the cache on the ground and no longer attached, so placed it at the base of the tree where found. Thanks for a fun hide

Loved the creative container We could barely contain our excitement when we saw it
From previous logs we were already warned that this would be a tricky one. After 20 mins with 2 people we gave up. Meanwhile we have collected a hint from the CO and one from the community, so we can be more targeted next time around!
Spent a while around GZ but couldn't work out where the hide is. Wanted to find a few more caches today so decided in the end to not continue the hunt. Previous logs did not help me today either. From Matakana so unlikely to be back here but you never know.
Now that's evil..even with laser eyes it took for ever to find ..it blends in so well sorta reflects with so bad an easy fav..dort of cache I would use lol thanks so bad great effort
Well, this so nearly was a dnf. We had seen the previous dnf, so we didn't hold out much luck. We circled around looking at the obvious hosts. Nothing looked right. My phone battery was just about flat, but I messaged the CO for a hint. While waiting, we circled some more. This time, after marking our gz, I moved to a different angle, which some plantings and a bush had dissuaded me from accessing previously. Then I spotted the little nipper securely tethered waiting to be found. Excellent cache, but very tricky to get just the right angle to spot it. Thanks for the placement, SoBad
On my third attempt today... I got a clue at a geocaching event nearby... It didn't help at all... Only persistence looking around the cache coordinates eventually paid off. TFTC!
I decided to go for a little stroll between appointments. I haven't been to the beach in a long time. Thanks for bringing me out here.
I was wandering around in circles trying to find this one, i came at it from a different angle and spotted it. love this cache! It's great having something a bit different. Tftc

Fav from me as well. Second time lucky. Found after a drop off at the Skaterink and doing a loop walk.
I was again about to give up, it was just a matter of approaching from a different aide and angle at a spot I had checked before already several times.
Not big so easy to miss.

After filing a DNF report from a visit alongside a PF, I got managed to get the CO to check to see that the cache was still there. I returned today wearing my CSI:Washington DC t-shirt and treated the GZ as a crime scene. This is the case of the missing 'Wee Nippers'.
Before I dove in to search for the cache, I looked around for any footprints that the perpetrator may have left. I made a plaster cast of some impressions leading away form the area. Does the CO wear size 11 & 1/2 Keds sneaker that are only available from a small shop in Collingwood which have an abnormal wear pattern on the right shoe? No. This line of investigation led to a dead end.
Next, I made a diagram of the scene and searched for the cache methodically. I had to question a lot of nearby eye witnesses before coming upon the evidence that I needed to identify the cache. There is now a little white line which outlines the 'Wee Nippers'. (Not really).
The case of the 'Wee Nippers' is now closed. TFTC.

Found it -but was just the log lying in the ground. Found half the recpticle it was I. Needs a new container. TFTC
Second time lucky here Spent ages the first time yet went straight to it today, and in a place I'd searched before.... but my eye for camo was obviously much better today. And this time I had an idea on what I was looking for. Clever hide. TFTC.
No luck here this morning after a pretty thorough look but, like some others, my phone wasn't exactly deadly accurate. I have an idea what I'm looking for now so will return armed with the GPS and prepared for a serious hunt amongst the ground material.
That was a sneaky one. Should have had Ella, who is 7 with me, she very good at finding the tricky ones. Great cache
Found this one. good to find it as we didn't find the last one we looked for and the kids were a bit disheartened. Re-secured the Twist log still nice and dry.

In NZ for a few days for work. Spent the day with my granddaughter (Caching as SETEA). With some time to fill between chores we found a couple of caches. This took us a long time to find. Eventually found in a spot we had looked at several times. Reading past logs helped. My granddaughter was very impressed. TFTC.

went searching with Tregearp and SJT_NZ after the event. Got it eventually, but it took while!
#1458. Day 2 of an 8 day caching holiday in the Tasman region with GB Leader. After my Event at the Beach Café, some attendees mentioned going to look for this cache. GB Leader and I got left behind, and searched unsuccessfully on our own for much too long. Heading back to the car, we met up with Zakayé, who offered his assistance. Needless to say, that turned a potential sad face into a smiley. Very clever hide. FP. Sorry you weren’t able to attend my Event, but nice to meet Mrs SoBad. Tftc SoBad.
With searching power of 3 and 1 team captain failure was not an option. Taking a grid search approach with Zakeye, SJT_NZ and Myself on full search and TC Isis58 we carefully cleared away natural camo from quite a few shrubs in the area where we all got 0 on the gps. After 15 minutes, hope of success was waning but going back to the base coords I took another look and found the wee nipper, log was dry and we all signed happily. Wire clasp back around we released it to it's home and covered it lightly with natural camo. Thanks SoBad, worth the visits and perseverance. Thanks to the combined team effort.
Nice to have this one off our list. Tregearp and I have looked for it at least three times previously, but today it was Tregearp who made the find with her, me, Zackeye and a bit of help from Isis58. We'd all been past this spot many times, and as many of the logs say, the coordinates are metre perfect - but regardless, the well camouflaged cache was devilishly difficult to see. Log a tad damp but perfectly useable. Nice to have this nemesis converted into a Smilie. Thanks Team SoBad for the adventures.
Had not found this one when I first looked. I never thought anything could be hidden in plain sight

Thanks SoBad for placing this SoGood cache
It was found with the lid off - cute container still tethered but the log was 1m away... luckily it had not been blown further!
Signed the nice dry logsheet and replaced with lid twist-tie tightened so hopefully it won't come apart until next cacher undoes it.
Loved the theme TFTC +FP

Oh what a treat to find this one as we were about to give up. With a small group of Nayland College students
On a 3 week geocaching trip with woolwood9 around the top of the South Island.
*Very nice find for us here.*
SL **tm/ww NZ**, but may appear as a black smudge on the many wet logs or plastic log strips.
*Thanks for the reason to visit this location and for the cache!*
Raining nearly all day today.
Took a while to spot, ww9 located it where I thought I looked!

A bit too sneaky for us today, plus the little nipper's hayfever kicked off in a massive sneezing fit so best to wander along. I'd love to know what plant set him off. Cheers
I just happened to find myself on the back beach this morning so decided to veer off and head for this cache. Arrived at GZ and hunted around for quite a while before the wee nipper made an appearance. Thanks SoBad!!
