Wet as managed to stamp On a week long trip to Melbourne for work and to watch the AFL prelim at the MCG, I decided to drive over and make a bit if a caching trip out of it as well. Stopping to find the odd cache here and there along the way. Thanks for the cache
Found on my maiden voyage in the new Motorhome to Bridgewater for a few days. What a lovely well kept, peaceful and serene little cemetery. On arrival at GZ I was really impressed, so many small old cemeteries run to ruin these days. Thanks GemmaSistema for highlighting this spot and for the cache.
That was a great little find in the dead centre of town! Thank you!Left some extra paper as list was full, and the container lid is broken, so we've popped it in a ziplock bag to protect content from weather.
Found with LittleBoss2 and Geo the puppy on a short trip to Maryborough and surrounds. Now on our slow way back to Bendigo. Thanks again Gemma
All quiet at the cemetery. A male Superb Fairy Wren was flitting about nearby. A quick find with accurate coordinates. Thanks to GemmaSistema for the cache.
Staying at Welshmans creek for the long weekend. Thought we would find a few more caches around Newstead before we head back home to Geelong. They seem to all be cemeterys today.TFTC.
Time for Mr. Lazy aka JTreeTrack2 to catch up on some logs. Sorry to the cache owners for the lag. I have enjoyed finding every cache I have found and appreciate all the effort that has gone in to placing and maintaining the caches. Hopefully I will find more caches and give a more timely and personalized logThanks again for placing the cache.
Paper is about out of space for new logs in this cache.
There was enough room, so I've left a small trinket for the next person to have. TFTC!

An unusual situation for us instead of being in lovely warm Queensland we are hiding around cold old Victoria. Medical reasons and caravan repairs have us staying here and we will be looking forward to finding as many caches as possible while we are here. SL TFTC
Found It.................After working up in the area yesterday we set off on a scenic journey to collect some caches that we had on our "to do" list for quite some time and pick up some that just happened to be in between. After parking the search started but with accurate coords the cache was found in record time. So with the log signed we continued our journey. Thanks GemmaSistema for the cache
Out and about exploring another area I haven't visited before...and the 3rd cemetery for the day. They have all been well maintained which is great to see. Cache was found without issue and with the log signed, I took a short walk around the area.
Thanks GS...cache all good.

Heading home from Tullaroop I decided to stop here. I've travelled this road many times to get some training paddles into my arms at Tullaroop over the ladt few years, but all prior to getting a wee bit hooked on geocaching!! Many thanks

Out for a drive while on holidays. Some op shops for Mrs P in Maryborough first, then a few cache stops on the way home. Quick find at what appears to be a well maintained cemetery. Was very neat and tidy. TFTC GemmaS.

Having finished work for the day in Ballarat I thought to myself why not go out and camp the night somewhere and run an event in Bendigo. We'll with that all planned I decided to make a weekend of it. Exploring parts of the state I hadn't visited before today I had a great time driving around and can't wait to be back again. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.

On our way this morning from Maryborough to Whittlesea we took the scenic route and came across this cache. This is certainly a well maintained rural cemetery. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Gemma Sistema for the cache.
GemmaSistema, I am beyond excited to be logging this cache. Firstly I love cemeteries. Secondly I love finding the oldest grave. This was a muddy but simple trek - wet shoes and feet for the rest of the day but hey, them the breaks. At the gates it says when the cemetery was established and what a surprise (not) as to the name of the oldest grave.
And thirdly, finding this cache has finally completed Centurion Centroid Challenge GC59WFG for me.
Thank you for making this a worthwhile and interesting cache to travel 100km + to find.

**Found Joyces Creek Public Cemetery, 7 August ‘22**
Snips and Co was so excited when she returned from overseas. “I’ve moved my centroid!!”
“Excuse me?”
“I’ve moved my centroid to 100km+”.
“What does that mean?” I enquired.
S&C explained to me the challenge to move one’s centroid to 100km + (mine's only at 42km), and the subsequent finding of a cache nearest to it. Hers sat closest to this cache, and she was making a bee-line for it. “Do you want to join me to grab it?”
“Only if there’s sausages involved” was my reply.
“What?”
So I proceeded to explain about Newstead Butcher’s famous bullboar sausages and that coming up this way would mean sourcing some.
This was a fun cache to find, and I always love exploring the smaller cemeteries that seem to dot the regional areas. They tell a story, so we took the time to read the headstones, even though some areas between the old and new sections were flooded.
Thank you GemmaSistema for placing this cache and showing us this lovely little resting place. Cache on.

Well that is the last of my planned itinerary for today but the sun is still up, the geopooch is still raring to go and i still have energy so im going to keep going.
What an interesting cemetery! Unfortunately the long grass barred us from investigating the older section. I'm not terribly keen on wading through waist high grass .

A detour on my way to Bendigo today saw me passing this very well kept cemetery. The contrast was interesting. Thanks for highlighting GemmaSistema.
Road trip with the girls enroute to Bendigo. Stop here because. ……yes another cemetery. Love it. Tftc
We started off the day with a ‘word of the day’ but it soon got changed to that word plus ‘we are going the wrong way…. Again!!!’ Ahh well, nevermind!! One day we will tick off the amount of cemeteries we’ve gone to! This is anothery done and doned!!! Tftc
Pretty hot today for geocaching. We found this one fairly quickly but it wasn't easy to retrieve. After signing we wandered up to see the range of graves. Thanks
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks GemmaSistema (F=8278 H=233) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

Travelling from home to central Victoria, the trip is not measured in km's but by the number of geo-stops for a history lesson, spectacular view or clever cache hide!
We enjoy caches such as this, it is always interesting to learn about the history of places we visit.
It was interesting to note the last logs indicate we were often the first callers for 2020.
Our thanks to 'GemmaSistema' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

TFTC. We left Maryborough after lunch heading to Melbourne to celebrate Christmas with the family. Decided to head through Castlemaine and pick up a few caches along the way. Normally we would stop and have a wander around the headstones, but we needed to keep moving. Quick park and grab today.
Another interesting cemetery found today
This one on a quiet back road ... Hooray !!
A short stroll of the stones,
then it was time to find the bones,
of this geocache eh ??

Well this is a well cared for little place to rest forever after.
Good clue and coords meant the GPS could stay in the car for this one.
Not the only finder today it appears.
Thanks Gemma

Out with a little friend called Harper on her first geocache outing. Lovely spot.
Found with Explorer Nan on our caching day trip to Castlemaine, in glorious spring weather.
This little rural cemetery was a real surprise, not because here it is in the middle of nowhere (there are many old rural cemeteries dotted around our country like that), but because there is such a big gap between the old and the new sections, and the new section is one of the most beautifully maintained areas we have seen. We didn't brave the long grass to the old section though, as much as we were tempted to. TFTC and for bringing us here GemmaSistema.

Who doesn’t like a cache in or near a cemetery? This cemetery was particularly interesting to visit. The lawn to the road had been shaved to a centimetre of its life, but on the far side, on the far side long grass gave it a quite abandoned appearance. In between was some swamp ground and a creek cutting through the grounds. While I was retrieving the cache an old man approached, spraying the weeds along the fence line. I felt obliged to explain what I was doing and show him the log. He’s not on the committee, just volunteers to keep the place spotless. He explained the graves on the far side were the oldest ones except the one on the far left, furthest down the hill. It was used fairly recently and they had to put a temporary small bridge across the creek! He loved the idea of Geocaching for getting people around the country and the benefits it would do for the economy. I hope others running the cemetery trust agree, if they hear about it.
What a beautifully kept historic spot. A new road for me in an area with old family connections. It was surprisingly busy titan isolated place. TFTC
Find No. 2707. Found with FUF009 at 11.12am
A day out and about in the van with Geodog Penny and FUF009. Our mission for the day was to gather jewels that had been stolen from the Museum to try to solve the Mystery.
Our day's trip took us through Dunolly, Maryborough, Tullaroop, Newstead, Sandon, Campbelltown and Smeaton, finding caches in the areas, to collect the rest of the jewels that we both needed.
We found this one straight away and after signing the log, we took a walk along the fence line having a look around the area before leaving for our next one.

Find # 8339
Found with Tyred n Cranky
We decided to go out of our local area n explore somewhere different. Main aim for today was to go on a gem hunt for the "Mystery at the Museum" geo game.
Yesterday we done our homework n planned our route around the area between Maryborough, Newstead n Smeaton. Thankfully this area was rich with gems and provided us with enough to finish off this part of the game.

Day 55
Suscoe was heading south bound today after a few days away up in Horsham and in Bendigo for the last three days.
It was a foggy and drizzly morning and fairly cool to boot.
We wandered our way home and arrived early afternoon.
An enjoyable morning checking out some new areas and a few spots that we had been near before.
Thanks to GemmaSistema for bringing us here, we always enjoy finding a new spot as we travel about.

After visiting the Book Fair at Clunes I decided that i needed to pick up a couple of caches for the afternoon. I had lunch in Newstead and wandered out here. I am a cemetery nut so this one was a must.

Heading the long way to Maryborough we made the short detour to find Joyces Creek Cemetery and the newly published cache. ( We knew it was here somewhere lol) A quick find and we had the unusual micro in hand.

Find #2154 for me. Found at 3:55 pm while returning to Bendigo after attending the event in Maryborough earlier in the day. I made a quick find here today. It took longer to extract the container from its hiding place but I got there in the end. Interestingly there was quite a bit of smoke in the area this afternoon but I'm still not sure where it was coming from - further to the east I think. In any case I was able to get home without incident or seeing any flames which was good. This was my last find for the day. Thanks so much for bringing me here today Gemma and thanks for the cache!

I love this game but seriously, I do question some of the things it motivated me to do.
Driving 25 minutes to a cemetery, alone, at midnight, in my pyjamas, is one of those things...
I'd seen this one pop up earlier in the night but have been diligently working on filling my 366 challenge with every day in 2019 filled so far. With minimal caches close to home, I need to save them.
I didn't need 15th April but I did need the 16th... With the kids on a sleepover and husband at work I had the night to myself. I'm a night owl anyway and had a busy day after work so the thought of getting my 16/4 find over and done with in the first hour of the day was appealing.
I headed off just before midnight. Half way there I had a call from the husband who was rather unimpressed with my middle of the night adventure. At this point, driving the creepy, dark, empty country roads alone, I decided he had a point. lol
There was no turning back though and soon enough I arrived at GZ.
I was very thankful that the Prado could park within metres and that I didn't actually need to enter the cemetery.
I grabbed the cache and zipped (okay, sprinted) back to the car to sign.
Pleased to add another FTF to the collection and colour in another calendar day. TTFC!
