Up in Canberra to attend the Capital Geobash over the Easter long weekend. Found this one on the Tuesday afternoon after the mega while scootering around the lake.TFTC
Found with gmj3191 whilst having a nice chat with couple fishermen. Thanks for bringing us here.
Find # 8,782 for me on 1 Apr 2024 at 12:58pm. Our last day in Canberra has arrived so we're looking for the special caches we've heard about, and anything else we come across in our travels. Once we spotted it with the help of two fishermen, it was signed and replaced. Thanks wanniassa, for giving back to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 3 and we had an absolute blast, after an earlier night last night we got up early to head to Yass and the surrounding areas to cleanup a bunch of caches inparticular whereigos and our personal favourite the challenge caches. We stopped in Yass and completed some high quality caches before venturing back to the trails. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
After finishing up the mega event festivities I C Nothing and I were still up for a spot of caching so talked Lachlan1.77, Leg5 & Barnzy12 into joining us and we made our way back into the city in an attempt to get as many central caches as we could before the end of the weekend and a return to normal life beckons. On a quiet night in Canberra we combined between walking and driving to caches and by the time we returned to our accommodation had managed to collect a tidy sum of 21 finds and starting to rest before an early morning event to kick off Monday. Thanks wanniassa for placing Rowing in the Capital for me and others to find.I added my name to the log on 31/3/2024.This is find number 8767 for me.
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WA to save space, abbreviation for our team from Western Australia. Cheers wanniassa! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA.

The team at work went for a walk along the lakeside this morning. One of the taller members reached this for me. It was not easy to extract the log, so I didnt put it as far in when I replaced it. Thanks for the cache!
Came across two people looking in a tree and asked them if they were caching said yes so far I logged at ket them know its not the tree - hint should help! I found it then they realised! I hadnt gotten it so signed the log too
#4580 Being on the bicycle assisted with claiming the find this afternoon.Used up one of the few remaining log spots before replacing and continuing upstream. TFTC.
Took a few minutes but we finally found it. Log only has four spaces left. Nice spot to sit in the shade. TFTC
Just needed to wait a minute for a couple of canoodling muggles to get out of the way, followed by a quick grab.TFTC!
Vertically challenged but eventually found. Unable to sign log after struggllong to retrieve the container and scratching finger in the process. Can send photo if proof required. TFTC
Found this one today
Fairly quick find today, struggled a little bit extracting the cache. All is in good order

Lovely on a quiet midweek day, had trouble getting log out but a little stick helped TFTC
A beautiful day for a picnic with the pup - thought I’d pull out the app to see what was around and saw that it was sitting right in front of us! TFTC.
I am glad I had scouted this out previously as it was totally covered and hidden in cobwebs today. As it is nght, the spiders (Badumna insignis) were not hiding.
The moon though was hiding and I nearly stepped on a rabbit.

Got it! Another after-dark adventure with Baristayan and found the superb little hiding place quickly enough. Loved the cache! Thanks very much
Went at night time! Such a fun find! I’m getting a taste for night geocaching
Wonderful spot! Very recommended. And watch out for spiders on this one

Jenno3, kenare and I are on a mission to visit each Australian state and Territory this year. So far we rockin it!! This weekend we are ticking ACT off the list. Funnily enough, we have all been here previously, but never together. TFTC
On a weekend with kenare and kenbryl we decided to do tourist things as well as cache and what better place than the countries capital. Had to laugh as we approached gz I went straight to the tree and read the clue and said huh what 2 things kenare thank god was onto the clue straight away and I was left being all dumb with my conclusions tftc
Today I was at the helm and Jenno3 was the navigator. Poor snack girl in the back wasn’t doing a good job dishing out snacks etc because she had a sore voice. We froze as we got out of the car so I was hoping for a quick find. I didn’t bother pulling my phone out for directions, i just followed Jenno3 and where she was going. She was heading towards a couple of trees, and read out the hint (which I thought was a very fantastic hint by the way). The penny dropped so I headed off in a different direction. Guess who found the cache? Yeah it wasn’t Jenno3!!! Tftc
The lake is starting to get that grey look of approaching winter. Think I will avoid a swim .
Nice little cache container. Is it home made?
Thanks for the fun.

Hopped onto my bike and ORIGINALLY was just going to go caching in the ANU, doing a bit of a spring clean up (or a Christmas clean up as it is almost Christmas). Well after saying 'Just one more' several times I somehow found myself at Manuka Oval, how did that happen? I swear I was at the ANU like a few minutes ago. Hmmmmm... Oh well, at least I got quite a few! Like way more than I had intended . Arrived back home 6 hours later with legs that felt like jelly
TOTAL HAUL FOR TODAY: 22 CACHES SPREAD OVER 5 TYPES (yay a PB!)
THIS CACHE:
I have had a couple of attempts on this one but never seemed to be able to spot it. Luckily I managed to spot it today but it took quite a while to get it out and the spiders weren't helping it. TFTC Wanniassa!!

Found it and saw container but it is wedged between 2 screws and couldn’t get it out to sign despite a lot of tools and effort
Ninth of 14 finds on a morning walk through the wetlands and around the lake. Enzo made a quick find here and we retrieved, signed and returned between passing walkers. TNLNSL TFTC

A quick find by TWDG in the obvious location. An interesting container, wonder what it was originally.
TNLN - Thanks wanniassa!

Walked around from the main lake area and once at GZ made a quick find. Like the hide, both for the container and the view from the GZ. Makes caching fun....so thanks for that wanniassa. Fav point added.
An very early event, lauding in the day to try for 11 caches types. So between packing and organizing and going to the scheduled 3 event of the day I found al the relevant cache types.
Quick find, nice cache, all in good order.
Thank you wanniassa for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Spotted this one on the map when I was doing the CITO, would been rude of me not to grab it right?
Spotted it from a distance, had to wait out some rowers who were putting their craft in the water, then retrieved signed and replaced.
Thanks for the cache placement wanniassa

A fairly easy find before going Canoeing tonight. Hopefully it won't be too cold. TFTC
A quick easy find today. Signed dsd. A photo from close by at the Australian museum where we had lunch.
Day one (proper) of caching in Canberra. Out on the geocycle, targeting some caches and collecting a few more that I just happened by.
Not being local I am not sure if it was quiet around the lake this afternoon, or if this is normal for a weekday. Anyhoo no muggles to bother me here.

A nice easy find. Had to wait for some young rowers to cart their gear into the shed and then I pounced, signed and replaced the container. All good with the container and log. TFTC
"Interesting container," remarked muggle hubby, reaching for what I couldn't, seeing as I am five foot nothing tall. Father and son muggles fished close by, but were oblivious to our doings. Cache signed and returned. Good views from here, on a lovely Sunday ride around the entire lake, all up, 44kms round trip from home. TFTC wanniassa
Missed the fly by in honour of air Marshall Evans, RAAF not getting it right again in the opinion of myself and others, but grabbed this as a bonus.
The rain kept the coast clear of muggles and with a little help from a tall friend we managed to retrieve this one. TFTC
I spotted the cache quickly, but getting to it was going to be tricky, with two people standing on the nearby wharf chatting. They turned their backs to me, so I reached for the cache, using a finger to extract it. My finger got stuck, and here was I now, after trying to be quick and not obvious, stuck and holding my arm in a very strange position. I managed to twist and free myself, but no cache. I went back to my bike and waited for another opportunity. Then made another go at getting the cache. Success this time. I signed the log and then had to wait for the opportunity to return it. I hope this doesn't end up swimming. Or rather, not swimming.
A lovely day for a cycle ride and finding a couple of caches.

It’s a super foggy morning today. Can’t see anything on the other side of the lake. This was a quick find but I didn’t have any TOTT to assist in removing the log. Thank goodness for a nearby trusty twig, which did the job admirably. TFTC
