No chance... we tried different devices. The GZ were totally off, and at the place with 21.5m altitude, there was nothing to see. Thank you anyway
Found with Gazania Rigens in this impressive public space.GRs eagle eye had spotted it whilst I was still searching higher up.Great little container!TFTC
A quick find once we were at the correct level and looking from the right angle. I like the waterfall, it's much more interesting than the usual water features. It also adds excitement when, like today, a young child climbs onto the channel and is nearly flushed down. Thankfully the dad had a quick enough reaction. TFTC!
Day #14 Lake Tekapo to Christchurch - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning. Flights still available Accommodation found Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip. The final full day in NZ. After leaving the beautiful lake I wound my way back to Christchurch, stopping many times along the way.A relatively quick stop on my way back to the car. Great views from here.A big thanks goes to RAYZR for taking the time to add Level 21.5 (Timaru) to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
While taking our shots of the beach for the Virtual, we snagged this one as well. There were not many hiding spots for this, so I spotted it from about 10 metres out. I used to have two caches like this - both went missing really quickly.I waited for the muggles to muggle off, and signed and replaced as you do. Just a note - the log was full to the point that people were signing it vertically, and I could not squeeze the old log back in with the new slip of RITR paper I added, so the old log is in my back pocket of my jeans where it will probably eventually go through a wash cycle and disintegrate into pulp.. but there is a new log in it for the next people anyway. TFTC RAYZR.Day 5 of our trip to the Mega and back, and today is Dunedin to Christchurch. We had the morning and brunch with our hosts, who had been great to us, and hit the road just after 12pm. Not much on the radar today, just a couple of Virtuals in and near Timaru and the close by trads that we would be stupid to avoid. Got into town at around 5.15 pm and caught up with my sister and the gossip. Thanks all COs for the caches.
Dunedin MegaGrimRaider, Joolay and I are in NZ for the Dunedin mega event. It is great to be back to see more of this beautiful country. Thanks for hiding this cache RAYZR
Found that if you switch on your compass on your phone it gives you your altitude.Great cache (Fav) TFTC
Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland ???? Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia ???? and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand ????.On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland ????
We are four ladies from Sweden on visit in New Zealand. We log as TULP (tigertassen, ursus67, lnganfans and pidjas). Today we drove from Christchurch to Dunedin. When we had access to wifi (mobile net) we made some stop. This was one of the stops.A big thank you to CO for the cache.
Four Swedish ladies driving around in NZ looking for caches. We log as TULP. Thank you for a smart cache. Logpaper FULL!!
We are four ladies from Sweden who are visiting Australia and New Zeeland We are logged as TULP This was one of the caches we found Thanks from Sweden
Ha found it. Sneaky but once I saw it I knew Day 2 and chasing oldies and challenges today before heading south. Finally back in NZ and this time for a Mega. Starting in Christchurch before heading south. Lots to see and do with Kittykatch and Grimraider. Will be joining with others as the days go on.Thanks for getting me out and about RAYZR
Day 8 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc. We have left Christchurch and are staying overnight in Oamaru so we can visit Steampunk HQ tomorrow. We managed a couple of finds on our way and then around Oamaru itself. We stopped here for lunch, loos a virtual and this cache - Mr Morris was onto this one straight away. Thanks for contributing to the fun RAYZR
Day eight of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.A traveling day today from Christchurch to Oamaru (with a few caches on the side!)Stopped here for lunch and had to stop at the lookout so we had to do this cache.Mr Morris found the good hide. Thanks, Robmc.
NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega. I'm also hoping to get a multi everyday, so it is now titled the "Mega Multi Road Trip". Today is Day 4 from Christchurch to Timaru. This cache was one on our journey. We'll isint this a tricky little number. Took a bit of deduction on the title and searching to find this little guy. Nicely done RAZYR, thank you for the fun in this lovely park. It's nice to have a trip where alongside targeted caches we also take time to find one's on a whim or ones that take a bit longer. We have all day and the caches are calling...
Came here to have a short break from our drive from Dunedin to Christchurch and also to grab lunch at street food kitchen. Out caching with irondale.Breakfast of champions this morning with a giant cinnamon scroll from bakers dozen that should legally be required to be sold with a vial of insulin. Also a bottle of sugar free V, because I dont want to get fat!I ran my hands over the structure and before I knew it something had come loose and I had cache in hand. Thankyou for placing and maintaining this cache and TFTC
Had the cache in hand without realising and thought it was something to do with the actual cache! That was fun. Tftc
Travelling from Dunedin to Christchurch this afternoon and grabbing a few of the more favourited caches along the way, including this one! Thankfully, due to the underwhelming weather conditions, the area was nice and empty for our hunt for this one, and I quickly had the cache in hand. FP added for the container type, TFTC!
Trouve ! / Found it ! J'ai failli me faire avoir, je ne m'attendais pas a mais j'ai quand mme fini par trouver 5152me cache trouve.Merci RAYZR pour la cache I almost got fooled, I wasn't expecting that but I still ended up finding it 5152th cache found.Thank you RAYZR for the cache
We are new geocachers and this was tricky but the 8 year old was delighted when she found it. Our favourite so far.
Finally found good spotting Sally taken 2 trips this weekend to find hence pic tftc
TFTC. Found with andyfreya. I've seen this type before. So obvious now. Hmmm. Just the 21.5 was the confusion. Not sure our coordinates were showing us where to go. But got there.
What a sneaky little hide ! Typically Mr Suelee tracked it down with very little muggle presence. RAYZR thanks for this adventure Tftc
Of the Holland American Ship. Doing walk and Geocaching tough one but a fun one tftc
We were docked in Timaru New Zealand for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We walked all around the city and south along a trail along the ocean. We wound up with 15 caches and a complete Lab on the day on our 11-mile walk.Thank you to drawp for 4 of the caches, Dups16 and RAYZR for 3 each, and to the other 5 COs for their efforts and for the other 5 caches.Thank you also to the Lab creator for that adventure.#####################This Cache: Not a Quick Find - But Salts finally came up with it. We showed it to a grandmother who is on our ship and used to geocache with her grandsons. We've seen this type of container before, but it was hidden really well.
Bit of a search as working from phones today and not GPS. Got there in the end! TFTC and greetings from the UK

Found after a short search - bit puzzled by the altitude. But Mr Juju made the find ! A favourite from us TFTC
Found white on a cruise ship from Australia to NZ enjoying your towns and cities so TFTC
Sneaky indeed, but my spotting skills soon unveiled the oddity here and was able to log the cache, tftc!
DNFNeed to come back with a measuring tape or some sort of a precise altimeter device I did try on a couple of levels that seemed appropriate but couldn't spot anything.
Just had a coffee break on our holiday to be fresh, but still took us some time... Thanks!
I'm on holiday with my family and we are driving around in New Zealand. On the way to Dunedin we had lunch here and afterwards we went for a stroll here in Timaru. This was quickly found as I have seen this type before TFTC. My find no. 8.199. The cache is dry and in good condition.
Out and about on New Years day, re-introducing some friends to geocaching. Beautiful day for it. We nearly came unstuck with our searching for this but expanding our area of searching soon had the cache in hand.TFTC!
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. We toured the beautiful rose garden below while working the virtual cache and then headed towards this hide and waypoint #2 for the virtual. NW's knee was super inflamed, and the elevator broken, so RBG made the climb and began hunting this cache. Fortunately, muggles were at a minimum and a short search produced the well-done, creative, fun hide. She added ink to the log before placing it back as found. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
Beautiful hide in a beautiful area. I love this type of cache. High clever factor. Visiting from Seattle. TFTC.
Sneaky sneaky sneaky!!Spent an hour looking for it and decided to give up and try to locate another one. And like others said, something was out of place. What a hide!No pen on me but unscrewed and found log! Good luck to all on this one!
We couldnt resist fighting (ha ha ha: look what happens when you dictate a log and don't check it properly before sending it ?? !!) this case, especially as it had so many favourite points.FINALLY, and with humble apologies for being so late, I am catching up on my logging.Day 3 of The North Islanders in Canterbury tour with Liss Crew. We are targeting specific caches -oldies, and puzzles. Of course, there will be days of laughter.During our time here, all found caches were signed as NZL, regardless of whether either of us has found it previously, or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache RAYZR.
I'm from Paihia/Whangarei and I'm down in the South Island for 6 days with NZ_B on a geocaching trip.I had a few goals for the trip:*50 or 60 puzzles for my diamond badge on project gc*40 caches to get to my 6000th find*some South Island minutes for a challenge*but mostly a clean out of my ever growing solved puzzle list.Monday we collected the windmill geoart on our way to Oamaru. Tuesday the focus was solved A2O puzzles, the sunflowers and other solved puzzles. Today we're heading back to Christchurch collecting challenges and more solved puzzles. We were her grtting the virtual so we couldn't we go past this trad especially given the number of favourite points. It took a few levels before we got to the right place. A neat hide. Thanks for your cache here
Lunch in Timaru, a walk along the beach. And then some exercise walking up all those steps to take another look for this cache. Why can't we use the lift...? Luckily no-one around on this visit - hooray for the manky weather! Thanks to helpful discussion with a previous finder, a fast find. Needed the tweezers though!
I have had at least 3 goes at finding this one and today something did manage to look a little different to me so I happily signed the log. What a sneaky little cache Tftc
Found on our second visit. Visiting family here in Timaru and four of us looking carefully for a few minutes. My geocaching instincts succeeded when something in full view caught my attention. Another deserved favourite added, thanks RAYZR for this clever placement in such an attractive area to visit.
Today I hit the road and drove back from Palmerston to Dunsandel and found a few caches along the way. Some very careful observation revealed the cleverly hidden cache. TFTC, Biggles.
About 7:30am on a Saturday morning it was nice and peaceful. I completed the first part of the nearby virtual and then started on this. Got the height more or less sorted. I had a pretty good idea of the possibile type of hides and walked slowly around the GZ area making careful observations until I spotted something in plain sight. Nicely done. Thanks.
We parked up and came to try and find this one. Walked down the stairs to get info for Virtual then continued looking. We are hopefully in the 2nd time lucky group. Was quiet her but we had to move on, yep lost an hour here.
I had some unfinished business in Timaru as I drove through today - this cache. I was not confident about finding it again.
However, I noticed something as I was searching, then a few minutes later thought back to that thing, and realised it was unusual. Raced back to the spot and voila! Cache in hand.

On a weekend trip to Dunedin. Stopped off to stroll through town and pick up a few things I forgot to pack. Glad I stopped off - this is a wonderful little area. Great views.
The cache was tricky but didn’t take me too long. I knew right away the GPS would only guide me so far and I’d have to start pushing and pulling at things. Great hide. Thanks.

I had as detailed of a look as I could, but there was a couple sat nearby who started watching me intently after a while, so I gave up. Next time.
Our first NZ find! Took us a while, but we did it. Really well hidden. Look for that little odd something and you'll be successful!

On 2/11/2020 we had a DNF here despite looking for ages and the cache having only just been checked by the CO. We have of course been to Timaru many times since then but I have always avoided this cache for some unknown reason, we never seem to find much time to geocache as we are either shopping or visiting family.
However, today we found ourselves sitting on the Bay Hill in our car eating roast pork sandwiches for a late lunch and looking at the view. I finished first and mentioned the elusive cache which was only about 30 m away. I wandered over and cannot believe how quickly I found it before M arrived. I signed the log and replaced it and even then, M couldn't see it until I pointed right at it. So clever, well done RAYZR.

Greetings from Nebraska USA. Beautiful day for a 30-minute hunt for something that ‘looked out of place’. Nice hide and T4TC
Tried also that one on the way to the Seaside View. No success first. But then we reassembled all information we had and shifted slightly the search space. There we saw something suspicious.
Thank you for this well hidden cache at a nice location

It was pretty early in the morning so we had the place to ourselves - dakotacats finally found this one which had had us stumped last time we looked for it. TFTC
Finally!! We had looked for this a year or so ago and were stumped but this time with hardly anyone about, we were able to have a good look. And sure enough I spotted something slightly out of place. TFTC
This is the last cache in Timaru this time around as I off to all points south tomorrow.
I decided to come here at 2000 hours as there shouldn't of been a lot of muggles about.
Cheers for the cache.

Today we went from Dunedin to Timaru to stay here for overnight. After dinner we have had a look for this Cache.
Tricky hid! Our Level was approximately 20,5m.
Thanks for hidding say GeoGrillen

Found it during a trip to town. According to my map, there was only one level possible. I approached the coords and quickly found the "odd" thing which was the cache. TFTC!
We were strolling through town and caroline bay. We stopped by at this one after a nice break in the rose garden. The garden had wonderful and different smells of roses.
Don’t always trust your instruments. My GPS has an alternator on it but apparently I needed to calibrate it. Once we got over this hurdle it was just a matter of strategically narrowing down the search area. A lot going on in the area but access to the cache isn’t restricted in any way. Thanks for the wicked view and chance to stretch our legs
Ran in to Agazo this morning and we decided to team up to try to find this one.
After I few minutes I spotted the cache and we were able to sign it.
Fun to run into random cachers!
Thanks!
